Cherry Blossom Millésime 2024

A strong tea fragrance...does not evoke cherry blossom to me like Dior's Sakura. Very expensive—You're really just buying the "ring" which is very cute and not made out of extremely cheap materials like other years.

Alright, since no one has reviewed this yet, I thought I should explain my understanding as to why people pressed the hate button! TLDR: Way too expensive! Storytime: I was actually a huge fan of the 2006-ish Cherry Blossoms by Guerlain, which were about 40-45 euros per 50 ml by the way. So ever since they got discontinued, I've been looking at Guerlain in case they relaunch it. So when I saw in Fragrantica this Cherry Blossom, I went to the store and looked for it! One lady had never heard of it, but the other lady knew that some Cherry Blossom perfumes had gone to the Guerlain spa store and I could ask there. I look up the Guerlain spa, prices start at around 1500 euros per night there, I guess to stay overnight and have a spa or something. Which already sets the tone to what is expected price-wise! But I wanted to smell this perfume so I called anyway! I called and asked if they have the Cherry Blossom available to smell, and how much it costs. They said 349 euros for 100ml. For comparison, the other, "non-premium" Guerlain Aqua Allegoria are about 120-140 for 75ml. But I'm afraid the story doesn't end here. I also Googled how much this perfume is elsewhere, and apparently it goes up to around $1000, I'm guessing due to shipping overseas and whatnot. I also found a Reddit thread where people are talking about how it smells and if it's worth the money. Apparently it's a very light-smelling fragrance, realistic like cherry blossoms but very very faint. So yeah, I think that for a lot of people it's not worth the money, and after my research I understand why so many here pressed the "hate" button. From my experience in Fragrantica ever since its first days actually, most of us here care about the juice, and love perfumes, and I don't think that this perfume is marketed to us, which also makes me a little sad. Hopefully Guerlain will bless us with a more affordable cherry blossom one day! I especially miss the "Lovely Cherry Blossom". It was sweet and powdery, and very feminine and gorgeous.

Ah, ok. This is hard, given this price point. I have to admit, I LOVE the bottle and ring. The scent is nice. A citrusy cherry blossom (light) scent with poor projection and performance. Of course the site openly labels this as a weaker performer. I expected slightly more. However, the bottles look gorgeous and I think of the rare spritz as a personal treat, just for me. All in all, an expensive spray bottle scent that came in gorgeous packaging with a beautiful, functional ring. A win’s a win.
