Chypre 53

Vintage extrait (don't know the decade). The top of this was really unpleasant (maybe it has gone bad) but after a few minutes you get an intense spicy smell. It develops to a gourmand yet animalic scent that i find really curious and unexpected. The moss is present after you let it dry but it's fighting this concoction of ingredients that make this a very wild interpretation of a chypre. I'll have to try it again and see what happens

This comment is to answer question posed by 1st review comment, "burberryboy". YES ! This scent, "Chypre 53" WAS an officially released scent. Approximately 10 years ago, I ran across & purchased a brand new, never opened, sealed parfum/extrait of this scent contained in a Flacon Carre. I purchased the flacon which was never unwrapped in its original solid blue paper, for $1800. I later sold the 2+ ounce Flacon that demonstrated minimal evaporation of very dark parfum/extrait contents .... for $2200. I had more than 10 offers on the flacon the first day listed before selling to the first buyer whom paid the listed price of $1800. This was very early in my fragrance journey, so I had no idea how rare that bottle was. I've since only seen two other flacons of this scent, BOTH used & empty bottles. Looking back, I was foolish to sell the flacon at all .... no less for $2200. Oh well .... Live & learn ..... lol On a side note: buyer was SO KIND as to send me 1ml of the ectrait contents & it while it was DEF a Guerlain & one would THINK I would flax on abliyt how grande the scent was .... the truth is : I did NOT especially care for the scent. At all 😞. Which is a very odd thing considering I ADORE almost every Guerlain scent I've ever experienced (& have experienced well over 20 extraits alone & countless lesser formulations) AND I especially love Chypres ? To this day, I've purchased prolly NO LESS THAN 20 parfums named "Chypre" by a large variety of Fragrance Houses & manufacturers, and I believe the ONLY "Chypre" scents I DID NOT appreciate have been one made by Langlois .... and THIS ONE by Guerlain 😝. It was ODDLY bitter and ... well ... ❓️ ..... basically YUCK 🥴❗️ SO YUCK that I'd NOT ever wear, no less pay even a quarter of what its worth. In THAT sense, I suppose I shouldn't regret having sold mine, lol. Although I DO consider myself a collector of fragrances and I currently own over two thousand DIFFERENT scents, I DON'T KEEP scents I don't like. So MY collection doesn't include scents just for the sake of HAVING different scents .... my collection includes scents I like well enough TO WEAR ... even if only extremely rarely 😉, if that makes any sense ? ** BTW: Clarification: NOT that I have bottles of each scent -》I may have only a small vial containing less than 5ml of a good many scents 🥴 MY COLLECTION COUNT includes the number of DIFFERENT SCENTS I have 😉. In bottles/flacons, I only have approximately 1400, but my count DOES COUNT the various formulations of same scent whilst DOES NOT include those scents I keep multiples of/inventory ... because I so greatly enjoy/adore ❤️ 😍 😃 😊 And I STILL say " SO MANY Frags & so little time ...." 🤗 🤪 😄 😛 Lmao 🤣

i see that there is a picture, but was this a confirmed release? if that's the only picture of a bottle they can find.... i would LOVE to know more.
