Eau de Coton

This is a beautiful perfume. I absolutely love the opening - crispy bright citrusy deliciousness with a little bit of wood. On my skin it settles into powdery almond almost instantly. I don’t get orange blossom at all. It sits very close to skin which is perfect for me because I don’t like loud perfumes. It’s very elegant, quiet luxury that never goes out of style, it doesn’t scream, but whispers. I only wish it kept the initial crispness longer and had more musk and wood at the base, but that could just be my skin chemistry. I layered it with Musc Outreblanc body lotion and the result was divine 😍

This is a lot more citrus forward than the old formulation, sweetened bergamot & lemon with a clean musky drydown. I compared it with the old formulation instore and bought this one immediately.

My favourite of the range! Basically a clean laundry scent, but very very smooth, very comforting, and very weak. It opens crisp, citrus, laundry-like, rounded out by musk, and then dries down into a lightly herbal, lavender-tinted musk. Still extremely weak, though I would say the second strongest in this range (eau de tulle is the most pervasive for me). Ranking of this range for me: Eau de coton > eau de popeline > eau de lingerie > eau de cashmere > eau de tulle

Nice sharp citrus opening , kind of turns into a sweet “clean” linen like musk feminine fragrance. Dunno if for the profile it’s really worth the luxury price tag, though.

Eau de Coton opens on me with a fairly sharp bergamot-and-lemon cut. It's unexpectedly brisk, citric, almost pointed. Then, after a little while, the orange blossom comes in, but not in the airy Neroli Amara or sunlit California Reverie way. It feels much blunter than that. A bit flat if I'm being honest. It's joined by this green almond-shell nuance that should perhaps have added a dry, textural elegance, but somehow on my skin it just pushes things in a slightly stale direction. I know so many get cologne, fresh linen, white cotton snapping in the breeze, all that lovely clean pastoral imagery. I do not. At all. My skin chemistry pictures it instead like a cupboard musk. Just imagine the smell of opening an old cabinet and finding a dried perfume sachet from three years ago, a faint aromatic trace clinging to fabric that has not been touched in ages, and, unfortunately, the ghost of mothballs hovering in the corner. I wouldn't say it's unpleasant, no... just oddly musty in a clean-dry way. The cotton here is stored cotton. It softens a bit toward the end, and that is when the herby base comes out more clearly. There is a gentleness there, finally, something a little quieter and less abrasive, but by then the spell is already broken for me. Overall, I find it a rather inferior version of Guerlain’s old Eau de Lit. Where Eau de Lit feels like warm aromatic sheets and lotioned skin and the last breath of sweet perfume, Eau de Coton feels more like the drawer they were kept in...

The opening is a sharp citrus note. The acidity is more pronounced than in the previous fragrance, Eau de Coton (2021), and there is a slight tingling sensation on the nose. The impression is that the sharpness of the acidity takes precedence over any sense of cleanliness. Whilst light, the opening feels slightly sharp rather than softly diffusing. As it moves into the heart notes, musk comes to the fore. It is more musky than its predecessor; whilst it retains a cotton-like cleanliness, it leans towards the dry side rather than offering a soft, enveloping sensation. There is a hint of powderiness, but overall it feels light and airy, with a low density. If you’re expecting the softness of the previous version, this feels quite sharp and dry. The way the citrus notes come through is likely to divide opinion.

Fresh citrus - dry lemon forward with a strong green freshness. It’s nice, but what I don’t get cotton from this at all. Not the fragrance I was hoping for...

I blindly pulled the trigger before I read the reviews and I won't lie... they scared me, because I do NOT like strong citrus smells at ALL! Well, I'm happy to report they are WRONG (at least for me)! This is the softest, prettiest citrus ever, like a freshly washed warm blanket laying in the sun, soft citrus detergent wafting overhead. This is an EXTREMELY soft and understated fragrance. But it's perfection. Lemony musk with a hint of almond. This would be a perfect bedtime scent, or for days when you want something pretty and easy. I love it!

Fresh out of laundry white plain cotton T-shirt hung on a rope to dry in a sunny day over swaying grass . that is exactly the scene represnting this combination of notes .. squeaky clean , bright and with touch of greenness ! It also reminds me of magic de guerlain edp , but this is crispier and fresher while that one leans more powdery , unmistakenly a Guerlain DNA

Citrus in the opening then after that I primarily get orange blossom and almond. It reminds me of something else but I can’t think of what.. It’s surprisingly long lasting. I sprayed this on one arm and Popeline on the other and Popeline is long gone after 5 hours and this one is still going strong.

I had the original Eau de Coton in the old bottle. You really need to be able to get down with orange blossom - it's very prominent. I personally didn't like the scent profile, but you might be interested if a lightweight sugary orange blossom musk is your vibe.
