Elixir Charnel Gourmand Coquin

As a gourmand lover,I could expect to like Gourmand Coquin but I didn't even think of such a huge love.it was a love at first sniff and I knew that I can't live without it. There's only one perfume shop that offers exclusive Guerlains in my whole country and they are very expensive there(more than 400$ !)but I was blinded with love and just knew that I need to take Gourmand coquin and French kiss home with me and now I'm thrilled to bits to have such amazing fragrances I have numerous chocolate,cacao perfumes and dozens of other gourmands but none of them come close to this one To me the most dominant notes are dark chocolate,cacao and vanilla.it's not overly spicy,not too much boozy either,I can smell just a hint of rum's warm boozyness and a little dash of pepper and a little cinnamon sometimes,and yes,I can detect a shy rose lurking around.I also agree with some reviews mentioning a faint smokey undertone which reminds me chocolate flavored Captain Black siggarets.drydown is a smooth chocolate-vanilla powder Gourmand Coquin is very yummy without being cloyingly sugary.it's very very addictive and very sexy,not just on a woman but also on a gourmand lover man.it's also very cozy and comforting.whenever I wear it,my nose is glued to my wrist and if it wasn't so expensive I'd love to spray it before sleep to fall asleep on a smooth cacao-vanilla blanket. people will remember and recognize this fragrance on you since it's not forgettable.I was surprised to find out how much my husband,my sister and my father love it on me as all three of them usually don't like and complement gourmands.this is mostly a cold weather perfume and a must have for all cacao-chocolate lovers Gourmand Coquin is longlasting.I had sprayed it more than 10 hours ago and it's still there as a light skinscent.sillage is very good when first sprayed but it rapidly decreases.this is the only thing I'd change about it,also about my beloved French Kiss.I wished they were sillage monsters.anyway I love them and consider them as my new top favorites P.S: call me crazy but Gourmand Coquin reminds me Al Rehab Chocomusk! not that they're exact dupes,the former one is definitely high quality,has more complexity and balance and is more pleasant but they both have the same DNA of cacao chocolate and vanilla powder.considering Chocomusk's super cheap price and stronger projection I think one can wear them together to use less of the expensive Gourmand Coquin اگه عطرهای خوشمزه و شکلاتی دوس دارین تحت هیچ شرایطی گورمند کوکویین رو از دست ندین.ترکیبی فوق العاده دلنشین از کاکائو،شکلات،وانیل پودری،یه کوچولو نت های اسپایسی(فلفل و دارچین)یه کوچولو نوشیدنی رام و یه رز خجالتی،اما اصل و اساس رایحه همون شکلات کاکائویی و وانیل پودری معروف گرلنه.بنظرم برای آقایونی ک عطرهای خوشمزه دوست دارن هم قابل استفاده ست ریویو کامل در اینستاگرام: myperfumeworld

I would sell my left arm for this perfume. Flash back to me being at Epcot almost a decade ago I'm in the french district, ended up walking into a boutique that had some perfumes on display, I blindly picked this up and smelled it.... You know that scene in ratatouille when Remy combines the food and and explosion of color appear in his mind, complete euphoria? I almost fell to my knees, I sprayed it all over me and my clothes, for the rest of the trip I couldnt stop thinking about it and smelling it, even after taking a shower, it was on my clothes, I didn't want to wash them because it smelled like this perfume. I didnt buy it because I was a 13y/o that didn't have 200-300$ or parents that would spend that money on a perfume. And I regret that I didn't buy it every day because now it's a 800-1,300$ perfume. Why they would discontinue this scent is beyond me, it should be considered a crime in my opinion to discontinue a godly blend of scents and feelings this perfume gives. Guerlain has scents still buyable they've had around since the dang 70's, you'd think they keep this around at least for a decade or two. Grandma gets to wear her favorite scent but I can't? Why Guerlain? Why do you enjoy causing us olfactory pain. Ps, Apparently there's a really great dupe by Julianna's Perfumes - call me by your name. It has the exact same DNA, I'm on the wait list as we speak! Hopefully I can get it before Christmas, I have high hopes. Update: it came in!!! Juliannas perfume is an amazing company, I got two free samples and one was their interpretation of LDBS by Kilian, so so so good, I think I'll buy that one next. Now the interpretation for Gourmand Coquin is delicious and smooth and just tad spicy like the original, instantly when I smelled it I smiled so much, I have missed this scent for so long and finally feel peace 🕊️ I really recommend Juliannas Perfumes, they're high quality, great costumer service, and long lasting/silliage.

I purchased this from Saks a year ago and I enjoy it, even though I find it to be one of my softer scents, especially after hours of wear. Upon first spray the dominant note is Dark Cocoa Powder. There is a sweetness that reminds me of high quality Dark Chocolate Covered Cherries. But after 10-15 minutes, the sweetness morphs into a candied rose in bloom. On my skin, this candy rose note is 2nd most noticeable--it is what provides the sweetness, followed by gingerbread-like spices and then faint rum. My daughter is 6 feet away from me and can smell the perfume on first application. She says I smell like spicy cocoa. So the sillage is moderate in the early stage. I realize I have a tendency to be anosmic to it and only get whiffs of it on myself as the hours go by. Otherwise, I sometimes forget I'm wearing perfume, unless I also spray this on my clothing. Strangely, after a few days, I can smell this on a sweater I've sprayed earlier in the week. (That's after wearing a different perfume). So it's like I've gotten used to the scent the day I wear it, but after 'taking a break from it' I can sense it again. I believe others will smell this fragrance around you even when you can't sense it. But if you really want them to notice it on you, you should spray it liberally on clothing as well. I enjoy this fragrance mostly when I sniff my own arm. That's how it's the strongest. Otherwise, after I finish up this bottle, I'm not sure that I will repurchase. It is one of my more expensive perfumes. I do also own French Kiss from the Guerlain Charnel line and find that I'm less anosmic to that one. I've listed Gourmand Coquin as one of my favorite perfumes because it smells so fantastic, however it really is a soft scent. By the way, the French pronounce this something like Gourmand Coke-yawn and the 2nd syllable is quickly pronounced with barely any emphasis (Not Co-Keen and Not Co-Kan)

I usually give a fragrance a few months before I write a review, but I just can't with this one. My sister got her bee bottle (Place Vendome Belgium) in February and it's just now deepening into a lovely, spicy, rummy, creamy chocolate ~ rosey ! ~ confection. I opened mine yesterday (from the same shop) and it's light. Not the heavy fragrance that I remembered from the other bottles. But she'll get there. All of my bee's have taken a while to mature, I guess bc they are formulated, mixed with Ho2, decanted into the bee and sent. The other bottle had time to meld together as it sat in perfume stores or department stores (when they were still sold there). If I had no experience with the process I'd be sooo disappointed, but don't get too upset if yours is still light. It will change. It's frustrating when you've just spent that much money to get it, expect this orgasmic experience based on previous reviews and............well, you can barely smell it. I wish Guerlain would be truthful about this, but I have had sales associates warn me that this will happen, just have patience ~ but I get the initial disappointment. If you will put a little on your finger, rub it around a bit ~ you'll feel how oily this scent is, very high in concentration. It might make you feel better about the whole thing knowing there is a lot of the parfum oil in there, just waiting to percolate. All Guerlain fragrances smell better after a few months and smell divine after a year or more. If you can hold out (I know it seems unfair) you'll be rewarded. I took pix, cause I'm crazy about that bottle, decanted about 20 mls into the included atomizer, (always use a glass or plastic pipette to decant, so you won't spill and waste your hard earned cash) and put her back in her box throne, like the Queen she will eventually be. Then I did a voodoo witch chant over the box and told her to hurry the eff up.

I have refrained from writing a review on this one for quite a while, simply because I don't know if I can do it justice. This arrived as a surprise sample, from a lovely man back in Toronto. I'd wanted to try Bouquet de Mariee, and he threw this one into the mix as well. Perhaps that was a blessing, since this was infinitely more affordable than the Bouquet de Mariee. The minute I put this one on, I just felt like I was home. I don't know how else to describe it. The initial blast was of Butter Rum Lifesavers; the ones that they always used to put in the Lifesavers booklet that popped up in Christmas stockings across North America. It was the most delectable scent, but it also brought back a wave of nostalgia for me. The initial butter rum scent lasted for about 20 minutes, when it smoothly transformed into chocolate and spices. About an hour in, a bit of a floral note starts to creep in at the back of the chocolate. I get enormous longevity out of this one, with it lasting upwards of 12 hours on my skin, and much longer on fabric. Despite the longevity, I find it to be closer to a skin scent, than one with monster sillage. If someone is standing next to you, they will probably smell it. If someone is more than 2 feet away, they probably won't smell it. I had one of the Guerlain tube samples, which I was trying to make last as long as possible, so I've never tried it in warm weather. It seems like it would be a better cold weather scent, but now that I have a full bottle (finally!!), I'll have to try it in warm weather, just to see how it fares. I have not found another perfume like this, or even one that comes close.

Gourmand Coquin takes you on an unexpected praline journey. You start off with roasted cocoa beans, not too sweet, dry and warm and very inviting, making you salivate straight from the get-go. Then comes the smooth top-notch chocolate supported by rum and spices, which are keeping the scent from becoming cloying. Even though cocoa takes the upper hand, the chocolate is shaping your perfume journey greatly. You begin by biting through a dark chocolate praline coated with dry cocoa, then discovering the silky milk chocolate filing mixed with vanilla and chocolate liqueur. I get no rose or pepper. But the spices are definitely there transporting you to certain times or places. For me it is instantly that magical time before Christmas, when we bake Christmas sweets and gingerbread at home for the upcoming festive season. As you probably know my all-time chocolate favourite is Angel Liqueur 2013 release. In short Gourmand Coquin is no Angel flanker by any means. It comes down to the very distinctive patchouli note, which is very characteristic for Angel. As grand as Angel Liqueur is, I only tend to wear it occasionally because of its intensity, typically more in the colder months. On the other hand, I find Gourmand Coquin to be an easy reach all year round; a very versatile perfume. It might not be as beastly as Angel but it certainly makes your eyes roll back when you catch a whiff of this sensual and seductive gorgeousness. Looking at the notes, I think that Guerlain executed it perfectly. If I didn’t know any better, I would think that the master perfumer behind this perfume was none other than Willy Wonka himself!♥

Love at first sniff! So many notes that I loved all swirled together into one perfume. What an addicting, interesting scent. I think one of the reviewers below me said it best with "feminine gluttony in a bottle" - that is definitely the case here. This certainly strikes me as the most romantic fragrance in my collection - I would definitely only pull this one out for special occasions, maybe even a wedding day fragrance! (Edit - Heh, LIES! I can't help but wear this all the time.) The first spray opens up with chocolate, a VERY realistic rose - so real, it's almost as if you can imagine your skin blooming into the actual flower, and a minty-rum mixture. These three components are present at the same time, and you can smell each one individually, but transition together so well that they do not clash. As the fragrance softens, you get a little more spice (cinnamon buns!) and vanilla thrown in. Edit: After about a week straight of wearing this fragrance (Addicted, I swear.) I notice there is a strawberry note in the opening & heart along with the rose, and boozy chocolate. So half of the time I get a very realistic rose, and half the time I get a berry, candy rose. The sillage is on the softer side, and the longevity leaves a little bit to be desired for the price. I only get about 5-7 hours wear-time out of this one! Still an immediate favorite.

My sampling of Guerlain Gourmand Coquin is long overdue. Upon initial smell (even on paper, when I first got a whiff of it in BG), it's obviously an elegant, carefully-crafted, high-quality gourmand fragrance, the vanilla and chocolate accords standing out the most. Still, there is the faint booziness of the rum and spiciness of the pepper (and vaguely listed "spices"), but I admit I don't detect the rose directly. Rose is generally welcome at the table as far as I'm concerned, as when it's not a standout, it can be a neat nuance to incorporate. Gourmand Coquin mostly gives the air of sweet sophistication, not an over-the-top, indulgent gourmand that smells of actual food, but rather, the artistic representation of the given notes, especially vanilla and chocolate. Its performance is superb, quite a standout, like the other high-end heavier Guerlain offerings I've tried. Pricing for Gourmand Coquin and the rest of the Elixir Charnel collection is on pair with L'Art et la Matiere collection (i.e. SDV, TI) at $260 for 75ml, so it's surely in that $3+/ml category of probably needing to love it to consider buying a full bottle. I do love it, though. Certainly on my list to be acquired--simply put, one of the best gourmands I've ever tried. 9 out of 10

I almost cried when I got my first (not to mention the second-157th) whiff of this. Where is the chocolate, rose, rum, and vanilla? Alas and alack, I, personally, only picked up the Guerlainade, a generic masculine undertone, a touch of camphor and quite a bit of spice. Mostly nutmeg. I was nearly ready to beg, torture, and kill for this outrageously priced elixir, based on the reviews, and found it to be nothing special at all. I'm very, very envious of those who found all the luscious notes that are supposed to be here. I sense none of them. JFTR, it, indeed, IS 100% genuine. After owning, and returning or exchanging, both LREN, Mon Guerlain, and now Gourmand Coquin, I think I can safely say Guerlain and I will never be a good fit. EDA- I have to say that after I dropped any expectations I had, based on the note pyramid and the reviews implying that this smells like boozy, rose jam filled chocolate truffles (not even remotely what I get from this fragrance), and gave it a second chance based on its own unique, spicy, warm, exotic merits, I've become quite enamoured of this intoxicating wonder. It's not what you think it's going to be, but gorgeous for what it actually is.

Gourmand Coquin took a while to grow on me. I must say, it's very unique and somewhat unusual, but in a very good way. I think what threw me off initially is that it's nothing like I was expecting. Even though this is technically a gourmand, its not very rich and 'edible'. It definitely embodies the classic Guerlain DNA, which I find to be fairy-like & ethereal. But even though it's light, it still has great projection & longevity. It's so hard for me to describe the smell. At first I swore I picked up on the slightest hint of lemon or bergamot in the opening. But I think that's coming from the rose & pepper. You definitely pick up on the chocolate and cacao, but it's not a decadent chocolate like you'd encounter in fragrances like Chocolate Queen or Dolce Passione. The chocolate in Gourmand Coquin seems very luxurious, but not rich. The rum isn't very noticeable for me. If I were to describe this fragrance in an aesthetic sense, I would imagine this is what Queen Frostine from Candy Land would wear. It's light, fluffy, sweet (but definitely not too sweet), airy, & ethereal. I'd love to compare this to the new Feve Gourmand!

This has been my daily/year round wear for over 8 years. My last bottle purchased in March 2020 from Neiman Marcus. It has a moderate sillage--you're not leaving a vapor trail hours later and it dries down nicely to a warm vanilla cocoa-- I get the chocolate on opening and as it dries down the cocoa, spice and then a warm vanilla. I had a coworker once tell me that every time she sat next to me in our morning meeting she wanted cake or chocolates---thanks, I think. It then proceeded to a discussion of what I'm wearing and how it changes throughout the day. This led to wrist sniffing in the afternoon because she swore I smelled like vanilla and something else---it's a great creation which as it rests on my vanity changes a bit and I get more of the chypre rose creeping in as I get near the end--never pulled pepper--thankfully because usually pepper notes latch onto me and I smell like a pepper grinder. I'm dying trying to find it as I am literally down to the last drops--any suggestions--literally the only reason I got a Neiman Marcus card was to finance my yearly purchase of this---help!!

This is the most beautiful, long lasting, with my DNA, forever fragrance I would ever wear. Guerlain is my favorite among favorite houses. It turned bitter here in the north-east USA, so I pulled this diamond out, and can I say, oh my goodness....nothing compares. Nothing. Chocolate, pepper, rose, percolated and brewed by the a fragrance goddess that has the only true recipe and secret sparkly dust only she knows of, and together with it's last sealing she sends a kiss from above into it before it is bottled for us. There are perfumes and then there is GC. Somedays I look at both my fragrance trays, and always turn away now from the other brand, and reach for my many diamonds from Guerlain. Magic....they make magic...(ps and btw, I didn't mean to invoke L'Instant Magic, but yes, it is a gem also). If I might add, the newer has the rose deep in the background and spice more forward, but the dry down is the same. Chock it up to IFRA, and whatever else i.e. supply chains, etc. IDK, why can't they leave a good thing alone. Still lasts forever on skin and millennia on clothes. Just get it.

@alykhroz Actually it is 100 percent likely they would relauch it under a different name. I checked with Guerlain directly and they told me that GC wasn't available at the Paris Boutique due to being discontinued. However as we know there's a place in Belgium that sells it. Guerlain have done this a few times as @alixtais has kindly mentioned. It is a Gurantee that it is returning. First had this confirmed in Harrods and then Selfridges. The SA told me that during their training, when they tested it they went on to say this smells just like... and they said before they could even utter GC the member leading the training said yes because it is GC just a different name in the l'art collection. The SA said the demand to have GC available again was too great. They would be taking a risk if they even made a slight change in the notes. Apparently this will be a direct relaunch of GC under a fresh name,under a new collection which is not unlike Guerlain. But we shall see. From what I have been told it is not just a similar Fragrance.

Finally! A delicious, spellbinding perfume with depth and staying power. Oh my God! It is soooooooooooo Everything Yummy and sensual and somehow is able to come across as complex and subtle, simultaneously. I bought this cold, without trying it. I read all of the reviews and just had to take the plunge. This is now my signature perfume. If you are waffeling, go for the plunge. I use a tiny amount, sparingly on my wrists and the back of my neck. It stays with me all day and I can even pick up hints of the scent the following morning when I wake up. It carries a warmth. There is a very faint subtle powder. The actual center of the scent reminds me of toffee and toasted marshmellows, perhaps cocoa. It doesn't sound like a stunning mixture; however, IT IS! Words don't do this one any justice at all. You have to wear it. I find people, especially males, want to stand closer to me. They catch a hint of the scent and it draws them in for more. Now if only Guerlin will keep this Forever, I'll be content!

So smooth and rich, I love it! It is very foody, if it tasted as good as it smells like it should, I would definitely develop a weird wrist licking habit. But it's not off-puttingly foody; for me it's very wearable. It is very chocolatey indeed, but not in a supermarket chocolate way; we're talking the finest Michelin star restaurant truffle creation here. Personally I prefer it for cosy occasions, as it gives such a warm and snuggly feeling. It is rather pricey to wear at home in your jammies too often though (I do it anyway). But it does smell rich and luscious and oozes quality, so I also wear it out to events. If the rose was more prominent, it would make it less of a straight gourmand. I'd like to smell a more rose-heavy version; my nose can't make out any floral note and I think it would be a nice balance. But it's still pretty darn wonderful just as it is! And the backup bottle was a good investment apparently - have you seen the prices these are going for since being discontinued?! Wow.

Mmmmmm....the dark chocolate and rum are so prominent in the opening. This is a delightful fragrance, soft in its scent trail, and fleeting (to some) on the skin. On clothing, this will last for days. I'm not kidding. I have a tendency to grow anosmic to this perfume, as I suspect many people do. And that is to the point of needing to bring my wrists up to my nose or wave my arm under my nose in order to detect it after several hours. This is wonderful for the office if you're not a fan of boisterous scents that proclaim your arrival into a room. You won't smell like a department store. Instead, you'll smell like a spicy cocoa concoction that will remind you of chilly weather drinks or a bubbling brew of hot chocolate laced with rum. ***** I am astounded by the asking price for this on eBay. $1,400 (for the Guerlain trademark "bumblebee" bottle) Thankfully, I purchased my when it was first released at $276 from Saks Fifth Avenue. My bottle is the rectangular Charnel glass.

I heard the name Gourmand Coquin and thought “I won’t even bother trying that - yuck: gourmands”. Then I let my friend spritz me from her beautifully aged bottle. At first I was smugly satisfied that was so right, it smelled like pure chocolate, not my thing! About 10 minutes later the rum and spices made a powerful debut and I fell head over heels in love. The single spritz on my hand lasted all day, and continually wafted up to my nose. I was hooked. I bought some decants of a less aged batch and it is still beautiful, however, the spices do not come through as strongly or richly as they do in a more aged bottle. I asked around, and several folks were in agreement, so I know it’s not just me! Once my bottles age for a while longer I’m fully confident that I’ll love them even more than I already do! If you like sweet and spicy, this could be a huge winner for you, you just might need some patience.

Extremely delicious treat Yes this stuff is expensive but in my opinion its worth it for any gourmand lover. I have had many gourmands and this is really one of the best for sure. For all the chocolate lovers out there , without any cheap or vulgar feel. Sweet yes, but natural sweet. Gourmand sweet rather than candy sweet. A different caliber , nothing you can compare this too. Ok chocolate greedy would be the simpler version of this, chocolate greedy is more flat , more like real chocolate or a brownie. Gourmand Coquin is more like the smell of a pastry house in Europe, a place that has the best cappuccinos and the most delicious gourmand treats , this in fact is what Gourmand Coquin smells like; A small, expensive CAFE in Paris , with delicious rum balls and the smell of hot cholocolate and cappuccino in the air. Gourman Coquin last all day on me, its a loud perfume and very feminine. I love it.

This was one of my first blind buys. The first time I used it, I was so disappointed, I couldn't believe I had spent almost $300 for a perfume that smelled like something from Bath and Body Works. I'm so glad I kept it and gave it another try. This is the creamiest, richest fragrance I've ever smelled. No weird patchouli or musk to get in the way, just straight boozy rum, chocolate, vanilla, and light spices. It's wearable and unoffensive and delectable, the only con is the sillage. I can spray in the morning and still smell in the late afternoon, however I've never had anyone other than my kids comment on the way I smell when I wear it, which makes me think it doesn't project very well. My 14 year old's comment the first time I wore it? 'I smell hot cocoa' I took that as a compliment.

@alyhroz I believe what LoveToSmellGood@23 means to say is that Gourmand Coquin will be made widely available once again rather than as a mere Parisian boutique exclusive, and the manner in which it allegedly would be frankly sounds similar to what Guerlain have done in the past. In 2021, they repurposed four fragrances under new names as additions to the L’Art et la Matiere collection. Le Frenchy from Les Parisiens became Frenchy Lavande, Un Dimanche à La Campagne took the name of Herbes Troublantes, Lui was relaunched under the name Oeillet Poupre, and another Les Parisiens fragrance, Arsene Lupin Voyou, became Épices Volées. If Gourmand Coquin is indeed to be repurposed, it will not be under the name we’ve all come to know it by.

Chocolatey, boozy.....delicious! The scent is very true to the note pyramid, so if you think it sounds nice just by the description, then you'll probably love it. It is deep, rich, and luxurious to wear. It surrounds you like a cloud of cashmere! Sillage is about 3 feet. Longevity is 5-6 hours. This is a scent I wear year round because it's too delicious to take it out of rotation for any length of time. In warm months it smells sweet and dense, and the rose note is postively luscious! In cooler temps, the spicy and fruity notes shine a bit more and the fragrance feels thinner. Stunning either way. The price makes this a risky blind buy, but if you like gourmand scents, this is a must-try!! It's so so so good!

My review from May 25th disapeared from here. Did I hurt somebody's feelings and got down voted? I repost what I wrote because I am intrigued by the yeast note. How come it is not mentioned here by at least one of my fellow perfume addicts? My bottle was bought at Guerlain's in Paris, so no dupe or expired or exposed to shipping problems. " I am intoxicated by this divine perfume. A lot has been said about the notes but nobody mentions a note which IMO stands out prominently: yeast! What combination of ingredients could create this scent? A friend of mine tested it on paper because I rave about this perfume and she totally agreed with me, she added the yeast note was far more obvious on paper than on me."

I tried this one out at Saks and knew immediately that I loved it, but did the responsible thing and let it sit a while on my skin (rather than impulse buying) and my love for it only grew. I really notice the chocolatey notes but it's not in a disgusting overbearing way. I'm not big on "gourmand" fragrances but this is truly something special. Definitely try it before buying (I would not classify this as a safe blind-buy). This fragrance is sweet but not sickening and to me- it smells expensive. I ended up ordering myself a bottle and I'm absolutely loving it. It doesn't last all day on the skin but it does last substantially longer on clothes, so make sure to bear that in mind when you're spraying.

Just recently purchased GC from Harrods about a week ago. I got lucky as the SA on the 6th floor managed to squeeze some out of Paris due to high demand. Luckily I was first on the list. As for FT which is GC, apparently they are the same thing... I am already noticing a difference in performance of my GC already as the juice matures so I expect that only with time it will get better. I do hope in terms of projection FT is better. This is beautiful. I notice it is abit of creeper when you think it gone from your skin it suddenly reappears with whiffs of chocolat and roses with subtle hints of spice. I do not really get rum note so much tbh. I asked about Iris Ganache it is not likely...

I transferred the remnants of my decant from an old leaky bottle to a new one tonight. And instead of letting a few precious drops go to waste I decided to wear it. Hear me out... this is like rich cocoa with a base of Angel’s share. The rum is really strong this wearing! I own Angels share and wear it quite a bit. Interesting... will have to do a side by side before deciding whether or not to buy a Bee. Edit: I agree with the reviewer below me. The performance is an issue even with the older formulation I have in my decant (dark color). On my skin the rum and spices are dominant so I continue to get Angels share in my mind when I wear it, but almost boozier. Not going to repurchase.

Okay, I absolutely LOVE this!!! I find it extremely sexy. Here's the thing...It has low sillage, especially after an hour or so. However, the longevity is outstanding. I applied this yesterday and I can still smell it today, late into the evening. I think this scent would be very good for close encounters. You could even spray some on the sheets and it would be heaven. It is very expensive to use solely for that purpose though. I think this is a very unique and gorgeous scent. Yes, the price is outrageous. No, it doesn't project well. This is a fragrance you buy for YOU to enjoy- not everyone else, or for intimate moments where you want to feel beautiful, sexy and inviting.

I'm not a great fan of gourmand frags, but this is one of the few exceptions: a vanilla modulated concentrate (extract-like) rum chocolate, with great longevity and reasonable sillage. Guerlain is never short of surprises! A masterpiece of two of the best noses of Guerlain (Christine Nagel & Sylvaine Delacourte) At Xmas, I'll spray it on a layer of Lutens' Fille en Aiguilles or Guerlain's Prima Ballerina (or Paris-Moscow, also with nice pine needles) to feel like a Santa Claus :-) I've heard rumors by professionals that Sylvaine is preparing a line of vanilla frags, after her outstanding musks line of her own brand. This sounds very promising !

I have tried this on skin a couple of times, and on a card another few times. On the card this is a slightly spiced chocolate. It is completely delicious. On my skin it is more spicy, and when my husband said “you smell like pumpkin pie spice” something clicked and yes it very much turns into a chocolate pumpkin pie spice on me. Extremely yummy but not quite the true rich chocolate I thought it was going to be on the card, once on my skin. Still an absolute love as it is delicious and I will eventually buy this some day as the bottle is gorgeous! Edit: halfway through 10ml decant and it will probably be a purchase when I run out.

To me, Gourmand Coquin is indeed the gourmand to end all gourmands! I first tried this while on a trip to Vegas. My expectations were not that high, figured it was being hyped up but it actually well exceeded my expectations. It reminds me a bit of warm baking chocolate chips cookies, with a bit of a spicy twist, maybe almost like gingerbread cookies, with a mild boozy note in it. In Vegas, I remembered reading that someone here mentioned that it reminded them of those butter rum Lifesavers, and I completely agree! It's warm, buttery, boozy, spicy, chocolatey. It is sweet but not cloying or overwhelming, it is simply divine.

Did not want to fall for the Coquin, as it is impossible to obtain right now. This is beautiful. Perfumery elevated to art form/genius level status. I won’t go into individual notes & all that but I could smell it a good 8 hours from 4 strategic sprays from my 6 ml decant. Received an unsolicited compliment from my boss who hates most smells, which, in itself is an impossible feat. I would buy a bottle right now if I could. Sigh... Updating my review: I purchased DUA’s dupe Dark Chocolate, Rum & Vanilla & to me, it’s an almost exact. It’s definitely scratched the itch. Highly recommend to anyone looking for Gourmand Coquin 🌹

Not one to usually lean in to gourmand perfumes, this took a while for me to understand. But I persisted, wanting to finish up a 10 mL decant from a good friend... and one day, a light just switched on. I was hooked. Gourmand Coquin reminds me of having a bakery-fresh chocolate croissant at a picnic in the park, near a rose bush. I am just smitten with this flirty chocolate note, batting her eyelashes at me. It's brightened with a touch of cinnamon and an almost flint-like black pepper, for some extra oomph. Simply marvelous. I love that she stays close and lasts just long enough on me. 10/10. It's a homerun for me.

What a beautiful scent! This was a blind buy for me after watching multiple positive videos on youtube. I finally received a bee bottle from Belgium (If you know, you know) ;). You definitely smell the chocolate and it lasts the entire time on your skin. There is also a lingering powdery scent which I believe comes from the cocoa. So there is not only a chocolate but also a powdery cocoa scent. Very well blended. You still smell like you're wearing perfume NOT a chocolate cake or cookie. It is complex. Long lasting. Definitely not for the summer months. Love it. Will order a back up bottle for sure.

The Guerlain/LVMH policy about this fragrance and many others is plain terrible, infuriating even. First they discontinued it, now they relaunched it only with one retailer and in the dreaded bee bottles without atomizer. I literally just watched a youtuber spill probably more than 5 ml trying to pour the perfume through that damn funnel. When are we, in 1852? Out of all the presentation forms for a perfume they chose a dabber bottle. For one of the most beautiful gourmands from one of the most reputable and loved perfume houses in history. Available only based on a waiting list. Not in shops.

Christine Nagel and Sylvaine Delacourte sign a great job, swirling etymaldolytic. And they carry Pink Aquarium Aquarium to the levels of paradise. Intense yarn, caramel and soft sugar. The descriptive notes are misleading, there is no chocolate here, at least there is no fondant, there is no crispy, possibly only butter (if any) of cocoa. And I repeat so many variations on the sugar note, almost vanilla is the filling of the gums of the guerrilla PR Noire licorice. Pink Rum and a Beautiful Pepper. Very nice, it's not a Mugler but ... okay, great quality.

I have been wearing this a bit more than usual, but I feel guilty every time I spray a single spray on my neck. I have the original formulation in the black box, and mine is just superb with about 24-hour longevity. It's simply magnificent and I do believe that this is one of the most beautiful and most feminine perfumes ever created. I just wish I bought both bottles the seller had for sale when I was buying mine, so I could enjoy it more often. Simply amazing! I wonder what the longevity is with the new bee bottles? Could someone comment on that?

This perfume was LOVE at first sniff but it took me a long time to get a bottle because it's so hard to find. Finally, my husband got me 1 bottle on our trip to Paris. It's a mature spicy and boozy chocolate. So delicious that I just wanted to lick my arm. It has moderate sillage within the first 2 hours then it becomes a skin scent. It's no a beast by any means, it one of those perfumes that you get whiffs of it every now and then but never suffocates you. On the other hand, the longevity is quite remarkable on my skin it can last up to 8hrs.

This is beautiful. It’s the most realistic chocolate fragrance I own. It was love at first sniff for me before it was gifted to me. It starts out boozy on my skin then a blend of spices , vanilla , roses and chocolate. The chocolate note is most evident. It’s almost like having a cup of not too sweet chocolate drink with spices too keep it well balanced. And ends up being powdery. Like a dusting of cacao and vanilla. I have been savoring it for a year. I truly love this and will keep this in my collection till the end of time.

I had a decant of this for the longest and at first I did not care for it. But after a year I sprayed it randomly and completely fell in love the chocolate, rim vanilla make for a sexy decadent and somewhat comforting scent. It’s worth every penny you spend on it and every praise. Luckily I was anle to get bottle from private collectors and a brand new bee bottle from a European Guerlain boutique. I’d say try calling a few Guerlain boutiques and see if they have it on stock or would be willing to put you on a wait list for it.

Pure gourmand heaven! Everything about this one is perfect. Spices, vanilla, dark chocolate, rum, cacao, pepper and rose mingle to make this smell almost edible, but not in a bad way. I get more compliments when I wear this then anything I've ever worn. Sillage and longevity are wonderful. This is one of my MOST fav of my perfumes and as always happens with my favs, they no longer make it, so it costs a fortune, if I can find it! So darn sad. I splurged on a bottle with my Christmas money 2 years ago, and now I hoard it!

Oh dear god, this is gorgeous. I had hoped I would hate it. But I don’t; it’s magical. Earlier this year, I bought a similarly-priced fragrance with similar notes which was way too cloying and gave me a headache. But in theory, I love these notes, so I’m drawn to them. And this was it. This was the scent I’ve been trying to find. So beautifully blended. Yes, it’s a gourmand, but it’s not one of the sickeningly sweet ones. It’s rich, but not cloying. It nestles in and caresses, rather than striding in boldly.

Everyone who's horrified at this decision to discontinue our beloved Gourmand Coquin, write to Guerlain and let them know how upset and disappointed we, the customer are! They are receptive to feedback, maybe we can get whoever killed this magical fragrance to reconsider and bring it back. We are the ones who buy the fragrance, let them know we want it back! According to the rep I spoke to, it's not coming back but she said she'll pass feedback on concerning this. They resurrected Initial so there is hope.

Beautiful beyond words for me. So sweet and soft but really stays on the skin. Intimate and romantic scent. I smell soft milky chocolate, subtle rose, and a non-cloying sweet. I wouldn't consider this boozy even though rum is a note. I imagine a rich red velvet heart-shaped box, the inside is lined with a deep burgundy satin. Inside this beautiful box are chocolates in rose shapes the chocolates have a Rosey smooth jam inside with hints of dried rose petals and vanilla bean particles.

A true grown-up gourmand. Soooooo delicious. The chocolate/cacao note here is superb, and actually realistic. The booze and rose add the perfect touch to tie the whole creation together and never clash or develop a "rotten" smell like I sometimes get from Noir de Noir. It has that recognizable powdery Guerlainade accord too, which is especially apparent in the dry down. For some reason, I particularly love to wear Gourmand Coquin on rainy days. Maybe it cheers me up :-)

This is luxurious. I had a sample made for me by an SA at the Guerlain boutique in Las Vegas. This is a beautiful fragrance. It’s a little bit boozy but not overly so. I must admit that I have more trouble picking out notes than most Frangranticans. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able pick out the chocolate note. It is more of a chocolate liqueur. I did not get the full effect of this until I applied more of it. Glass vials with no soarers are tricky to me.

*just received my bottle of Féve Gourmande. I have old bottle of Gourmand Coquin, a Bee Bottle of Gourmand Coquin and now the new released/new name. My oldest bottle of Gourmand Coquin is richer -- because it is older. When I got my Bee Bottle it seemed the same, but not as rich, almost lighter scented, but now that it has been a year - it is the same scent. Féve Gourmande is a REFORMULATED version. Notes: Rose, cocoa, Rum, Spices, Smoky Tea, Patchouli

This is magical, unparalleled and a true masterpiece. I am one of the lucky ones who got maybe one of the last bottles at 205€. Now to those people who stole someone’s chance to buy it at a fair price by grabbing extra bottles and now reselling at 900$. You are disgusting. And you have the nerve to post multiple adverts of your stupid etsy store here in the comments. I just wish people were into it for the love of perfumery art, not of greed.

Guerlain Elixir Charnel (2008) - spicy dark chocolate - #christinenagel and #sylvainedelacourte creates this delicious mix of Dark chocolate, Praline, Rose and Vanilla. In the hands of an amateur, this type of accord would have been dense and cloying. But these master perfumers added Rum and Spices (cinnamon, clove, pepper) to ramp up the aromatics to balance the dense drydown. Reminds me of dark chocolate souffle - airy, light and delicious.

We need to write letters to Guerlain to bring this back out of retirement! Why Guerlain? You keep the crappy allegorical line (water down toilettes) and your makeup -seriously no one thinks of makeup with the house of Guerlain.... why, why do you not see how much joy this fragrance has evoked to my generation of fragrance lovers. You keep the shalimar. You keep the flankers of mon Guerlain. But the elixirs you rid your house ? Why!

@GizPop There are items you can purchase to take the juice out of a splash bee bottle. You can use a syringe or a squeeze dropper. There are kits that are sold and relatively inexpensive to remove the juice. The YouTuber you are watching clearly doesn't know anything about fragrance. I would educate myself on fragrance before making comments and I would also find someone more experienced to follow on YouTube if I were you.

December in Sydney is often warm; close with humidity off the harbour, and filtered orange with lowering, bushfire smoked sunlight. These are my absolute favourite conditions to wear this exquisite composition. Drifting off warm skin into heavy air, it envelops the wearer in a wonderful, sophisticated cloud of cocoa powder and smoked tea, with just the slightest suggestion of rum underneath. Absolute perfection.
