Flacon Tortue

I had the honor of meeting a lovely lady, who works in Dubai for Guerlain. Qatar was having a private exhibition of their perfumes and one of the tortoise flacons as there. A funny story came with the design of this bottle and I am wracking my head to make sure I get the story in order. The designer of this unique Baccarat crystal flacon designed it based on a building project that seemed to be taking too long, according to the designer. After the building was completed, and an important event was to take place in it, the designer of this flacon designed it in the shape of a tortoise in response to the architect's slow progress in the completion of the building. Funny!

gorgeous very long lasting high quality scent. I am bad at describing but i feel pink pepper, rose and smoothly intertwinned tonka and vanilla with hint of violette and incense. All is increadibly good blended. The scent is changing during the time,developing in more creamy, rich luxurious scent. It is sooooo beautiful. And the bottle is also amazing - simply state of the art. Very rare scent!

I bet that Bill Gates would not buy it because he prefers to give this money to charity! This is not even most exciting parfume by Guerlain...most expensive was 17.000 e for 190 ML...Totall discrimination from Guerlain because they know that 95% of world's population doesn't have that money.

I have a very cheap bottle from Avon, also in the shape of a turtle. It's from the 1970ies. Hahahaha. Sorry, I made such a bad joke but at these prices I’m lost. For me perfume is a big, important hobby, but not THIS important. If I would be a millionairess... maybe. Now: No way.

I wondered if Polly Bergen's lovely Tortue from (maybe) the 1970s had crept into the Fragrantica lists. Guess not.
