Florabloom Absolu

I was incredibly intrigued by this fragrance on the store shelves, and as you can see, I couldn't let it go without buying it! I tried it on my skin and on a blotter in the store, and I can definitely say that the scent is much brighter and more interesting on my skin! This is definitely an evening fragrance – incredibly sophisticated, elegant, and "expensive." I think it's perfect for a date. It definitely goes with heels and an elegant dress! As for the notes: the rose is very prominent. It's the first thing I smell, but then it softens into a super sweet, juicy mango. I also detect a floral note, and a little further, a light splash of mandarin. The base notes, for me, still retain some patchouli, but don't be afraid of it – it's delicate here, not enough to make you dizzy! The longevity is at least 5+ hours, but the sillage, in my opinion, is not strong.

First of all - such a shame for any reviewers who are here to downgrade this fragrance's rating probably before even its market release and the opportunity of trying. Must say that I am not the biggest fan of the Allegoria line but also, so far all of the Absolus have mesmerized me. This is not an exclusion. Florabloom Absolu is stunning floral bouquet, very long-lasting, fresh but also sweet and feminine. It carries Guerlain's signature and is very intense. I blind bought it and it took a long time to arrive but it ended up being love ... not a surprise for this brand though. The mango is subtly present (I am usually repelled by strong mango notes), I think my skin captures and radiates more the middle floral notes than the top fruity ones.

I was desperate to try this, as Florabloom Forte is one of my favourites. I’d never thought of FF as a coconutty-led scent, so I’m intrigued to find that this is the direction they’ve taken the Absolu. It’s far more tropical than I’d been expecting. On me this is coconut > mango > tuberose > Ylang Ylang > smoky musky other. It’s pretty potent on first spray from my sample - I’m going to do some overspraying and see how it goes. This isn’t as immediate a love as I had when I first smelled FF but I do really like it. Different enough as a flanker that it could warrant buying. Edit: since writing this, I’ve tried various samples of this Absolu and it’s turned into a love. I’m now the proud owner of two bottles...

I got this as a sample and at first I smelled the heavy woody and bittery Guerlain perfumes that I simply adore. The opening reminded me a bit of the old Samsara, but as time went on it really took me through olfactive journey: from a heavy red velvet 1900 French cabaret to the sweet and spicy market in India after the rain and then somewhere in a shiksha caffé. I dont get the coconut on my skin, nor too much sweetness and I am happy for it, too many perfumes smell like cookies ans fruit infusion these days. This is a "way out of line perfume", a warm, mysterious, sweet and salty woman would wear this, very nuanced and rich if it lands on the right skin.

Hated this initially as a sharp burst of anise smacks you right in the face on opening. But oh the dry down! It settles into this creamy, fresh coconut, honeyed fruity blackcurrant floral bouquet of deliciousness. Its not your everyday perfume and stands in a class of its own. Id say its suited best for cold days and evenings. You cant go wrong with this if you want to smell like you have money. Initially it did remind me of Joop! Homme. Perhaps this is why other reviewers say it takes them back to the 90s but couldnt work out why?

I received a sample with my Shalimar Millesime Rose, and i honestly wish i purchased this instead. It is so very beautiful, coconutty and summery and flowery, just beautiful. I will probably sell Shalimar Rose and purchase Florabloom, since SMR did not exactly blow my socks off. EDIT: Not a fan of the dry down. There is something musky in it, and it changes into a completely different fragrance. It is quite annoying and unpleasant. There is zero original DNA in the drydown. Jekyll and Hyde type of situation here!

I tested this today, with not much hope or expectation. But to my surprise it is very nice. At the beginning it a sharp sweet floral but nice scent but after 15 minutes it is a spicy sweet moss with some fruit with prominent sweet mandarin,but imagine a crushe sweet mandarin with its peel. Very long lasting, after washing hand and after couple hours it is still on back of my hand. Very nice release

I have Rose Amira and I love the smell of it and I have been approached regularly by women saying the scent suits me as a male. so I had to get this one after smelling it a couple of times in store. Love it, it’s soft, sweet, and creamy, not heavy on incense on my skin, can detect it but at the ends it’s smells clean and pleasant, makes me feel relaxed and once again complements.

I personally love it, it’s floral and gentle and really feminine but at the same time even if you have zero knowledge of perfumes and were to pick up the scent, you’ll be able to tell right away that it’s expensive and classy. Also really long lasting and the silage is pleasant. Fairly, it’s worth the price

I want it so badly! I got a tester, and I'm in love. 😏 It is totally reminiscent of Ricci Ricci - juicy, fruity and a little astringent. The name is misleasing as it is more fruity than floral - I expected some peony-freesia-like smell, but it is rather fruity pleasure. Great sillage!

A slightly deeper version of the Forte version. I don't really see the reasoning behind this release. It's too close to the Forte to exist, but the Forte is great so .. this is great too. It's more unisex than the Forte.

Nice deep old schoolish floral. Tuberose is nicely blended on very soft incensy woody base Nothing ground breaking but nice one if you are looking for Guerlain style floral which is leaning feminine with strong tuberose.

It's tropical tuberose, but with character, not your basic floral scent, it's one of those sophisticated ones, think l'interdit rouge, they are NOT similar or even close, but it has the same boldness

This is OUTRAGEOUSLY BEAUTIFUL A rich sweet syrup of exotic flowers, coconut, fruit nectar, soft patchouli and woods. Straight into my top 4 of my worryingly huge collection

amazing combo of mango coconut and madarin with incense sandalwood and tuberose. Such a unique fragrance and really unisex but very underrated.

It is very nice perfume, it is a very warm deep floral. Very elegant without being heavy or old

Why's this so hated? It's a nice sweet floral.

I had no idea what this fragrance was when I received a sample. It's been a surprise! By the name, I thought that it would be just flowers, flowers, flowers, but the opening is surprisingly warm, intense and with a pleasing bitter note (might be mandarin peel). Looking at the notes now, I didn't get the coconut sadly. After 2-3 hours, warm spices emerge along with the flowers. I'm not usually fond of spices, but these are so well balanced, they don't sting my nose and the mix with the floral notes is so appealing. If I close my eyes, it's the 1800s and I'm in South-East Asia in a wonderful colorful palace hidden in the jungle. It gets spicier and spicier as time passes. It gets drier, and I feel like I moved from a jungle in South-East Asia to a desert plateau in Middle East. It's like I'm so tired, this journey is so long, but I'm slowly going back home! After 12 hours wearing it, I can still smell it on me and yeah maybe now it's too much patchouli and incense for my taste, I can tell I will not buy a full bottle. Overall, it's warm and elegant but very wearable and perfectly unisex. It projects well and lasts for a long time. Wow, what a journey!

Not getting why this is so hated. I understand that patchouli isn’t for everyone but you'd think you'd know that going into it. I get slight dental clinic vibes from the opening that might put people off but it’s nothing terrible. And it mellows out after a couple minutes. It’s not my fave but I don't get all the hate. Its just a floral patchouli. And I dont think Id classify it as having a large sweet accord as it is ranked. Id rank it as patchouli, of which it is pretty heavy first and floral second followed by fruity. According to tracking only seven people have worn this. Most people probably dont record what they do or do not wear but it does make me wonder about the 122 votes on this. The patchouli and incense make this feel kind of soft spicy meets floral/fruity

Edit: Ok my first review below was from trying this in winter. I wore this last night on a hot summer evening and it's absolutely divine and now I want a bottle. Sigh! Haha. A sales assistant sprayed this on card for me two weeks ago and I can still smell it when I walk past my dresser. I really like it in passing so decided to try the sample today. Two small sprays of this and it's very strong. There's an almost hairspray note that is very over powering and turns it slightly strange and a bit unpleasant. The dry down now 7 hours later is very pleasant, but I can't go through the hairspray transition. It would make a nice room fragrance. I'd like something that smells like the dry down.

An interesting blend of tropical fruity florals with a heavier patchouli mossy base. Dries down a little spicy and waxy. I like the depth the heavier elements give, and longevity, but I could see how this might turn off people who don’t like those notes. But still feminine leaning. Could be too much in some situations (enclosed, warm weather). Not one to overspray.

I was told this is modern interpretation of Samsara (which i realy like) but this is very fruity and sweet on the opening. The oversweet then goes a bit sour on the way through to what is a very nice dry down (maybe this is the bit the were comparing it to?).

it pretty wonderful! based of white florals and tuberose but summered up by the mango note and fruitiness. doesnt smell like sun lotion or body spray. pretty classy take on the summer fruity floral perfume.

A pleasant floral composition, slightly sweet, with a creamy, gently woody base. Simple — and nice in its simplicity. Moderate in longevity and sillage.

Incandescent perfume... i just hoped that incense would last till the end

I like this one. Warm, sweet and surprisingly fruity.

The moss and patchouli completely overpower the fruity and floral notes. I absolutely love Florabloom and Florabloom Forte but I don't love this. I don't hate it either but it's not what I expected from this. As it dries down it's quite nice, but upon spraying it it's too much moss and incense. I have to say the lasting power on this is really good, I only sprayed one spray on my wrist and could smell it the whole day. I did also keep going back to it and smelling it because I caught whiffs of it and could not decide if I like it or not, but ultimately I think it's not one for me.

One of very few Guerlains that I immediately noped out of. I adore Florabloom Forte as it strikes exactly the right balance of lush and wearable, but this flanker is a case study in what happens when a house decides to please a certain subset of their customers who like to bitch and moan about weak longevity and projection. The delicate fruity notes that give Florabloom its charm - the lovely mango and coconut with their slight watery sweetness - get smothered and choked before they have any chance to develop, and the purple florals get lost completely under an overpowering patchouli that has no business being this loud in a fruity floral.

Theres alot going on in this, dare I say too much? The first spritz of Florabloom is a fragrance flooding for the olfactory senses. Sweet, tropical, flowery, woody and incense all dialled up in saturation as if fighting for front stage. It's almost as if each note screams "pick me" but the patchouli and synthetic flowers scream loudest, whilst the meek mango, coconut and ylangylang get left in the background. The performance is ok but doesn't really last as long as I'd have expected for such a loud opening. It's certainly a statement piece by Gurlain, Im just not sure what kind of statement it makes.

Unisex fragrance? Definitely not! This explosion of flowers is maybe heavier and darker than tropical notes imply, but suits more women. The perfume is quite irational, full of paradox. Light coconut, ashy incense; sweet blooms, damp moss; rich and luxorious ylang-ylang in combination with very dry woodiness... I belive, person who wears it, is able to connect all accords with personal aroma in harmony. I am curious about her/him, but I am quite sure that Florabloom Absolu is too disturbing for me...

I really like florabloom original and forte, but this absolu is a no for me. It’s definitely very heavy, evening scent for mature ladies. It’s just boring for the case of going to the theatre and almost choking the person next to you but gone at the end of a second act. Too loud for a short time. I would at least expect some longevity.

As always, the sharp and sour moss note ruined this scent for me. Gives me an impression of a beautiful flower bouquet that's been left in a car without AC for too long and gets moldy.

Terrible cheap smell, a scrubber for me.The moss and coconut is a very heavy combination and remind me of a street in Asia (Birma?) with a lot of cars and dentist shops..

Didnt like it smells like dentists clinic 😐 and boring like the original

It comes in a pretty tinted bottle, but I regret my impulse buy, seduced as I was by the beautiful colour and the associated advertising images and videos. In the dark days of mid-winter, it was like walking past a pile of shiny, rosy-red pomegranates, neatly arranged on a food-store shelf, and not being able to resist one. In the run-up to Christmas, my brain was seeking out cranberries, cyclamens, poinsettias, fragrant hyacinths and Margarita cocktails in gorgeous deep pinky red hues. I thought this Florabloom would satisfy those cravings for something beautiful to look at, handle, spray and, as the ultimate prize, finally smell and lift my spirits. But oh, I was so disappointed. The contents of that beautiful bottle smelled nothing like the warm yet fresh and spicy raspberry colour suggested it might (though the colour is in fact due to the glass and not the liquid). The scent felt bottom heavy, with oddly sour, sombre lower notes overpowering what few upper notes were definitely present on my fragrance tester strip but absent on me. It had smelled appealing and well balanced on the paper strip, but for some reason it was totally different and very off-putting on me, like a good wine gone well past its taste-by date. I couldn’t believe how this same liquid could smell perfectly pleasant on paper yet so offensively bad in the air around my body. I felt suffocated by an unpleasantly musty smell which followed me all day long. At bellringing practice that night I felt enormously embarrassed by the putrid smell that spread itself all over the church tower-room and which I knew was being emitted by me as a result of some adverse chemical reaction taking place on my skin. Only four tiny sprays of this liquid had been enough to make me feel “over-fragranced” in the worst possible way. It is certainly not lacking in strength, so it is very good value for those whom it behaves well on their skin, but an ugly transformation had taken place on me which made me want to wipe this perfume off at once. I sniffed in vain for a floral aroma. I could not detect anything in the least like a bouquet of flowers, and was reminded more of dried cloves, stale mulled wine and month-old Christmas cake. Sadly, I shall have to put my expensive mistake down to experience and sold it on as quickly as I could.

It was a blind buy. I usually love Guerlain perfumes. The perfume lasts impressively long, which is great. The problem is that the patchouli is way too strong as a base note, and I just can’t wear anything with patchouli. I thought it would have more floral and fruity notes, with a tropical vibe. But on my skin, the patchouli completely drowned out everything else. It just gave me a headache for hours.

No mango nor tuberose. It's literally nauseous! vomit vomit vomit.

One of those fragrances that you don’t know if you like or not and then they surprise you. Is it a masterpiece and so on, definitely not and not intended to be. I bought it more on a whim in an airport just wanting something new for the trip and without any clear idea in mind, just something new but still in my usual brands. Sometimes those moments happen. And never moments when a memorable acquisition comes out. On the spot it was a pleasing floral, change from my usual, fragrance that I liked. Easy and uneventful. Then coming home I rather disliked it and put it at the back of the shelf with more unconvincing ones. But then recently I took it out just looking for something to wear on errands and anything casual when literally you would not actually wear a proper perfume. And then something happened. The opening is still not my thing, I find it harsh and unwelcoming, on the cheap boring floral mix type without a clear direction. However, then something nice happens and the perfume morphs into a pleasant more mellow floral which lingers on including on and when getting back in the house which is just pleasant. I still have to figure it out as it’s a fragrance going a bit all over the place as direction and notes but in the end this is not a pure white floral either, nor a rose, it’s like a bouquet of all flowers and colours and that’s ehat they are supposed to, brighten the house and just be pretty. So in that sense, does the deal.

A very strong patchouli-based floral. I just feel like this could have been much more pleasant if it wasn’t so overpowering and concentrated. The profile is ok, I don’t think I would go for it, but it essentially should satisfy a regular mature user - in theory. In practice, what it does is actually take the delicate floral complex and drowns it in dirty patchouli. Patchouli can be nice and grounding, but this is too much. It has a very intense smoky moss base. Definitely not unisex, and absolutely a mature feminine fragrance. It’s very unlike Guerlain, I have to say. I love the house exactly because it has a talent for creating delicate compositions with the right intensity and pacing. This is a bit off. I think the design itself is good, just maybe tweak a few positions and desaturate and distribute the intensity a bit. It is not completely lost, just let it shut up a bit. Formal evening fragrance, 2 sprays will be enough.

I had an hour to kill in favourite perfume boutique yesterday while waiting for husband. Not tried this before and it was front of shop. I love tuberose and patchouli so should have been a no brainer. Absolutely dreadful, short sharp shock to my eyes, nose and throat! Gratefully so short I didn't have to wash off, literally disappeared in few mins. Still in a state of shock I sprayed again as it couldn't possibly be as rough as I thought....it was! Not long enough to identify the culprit, I told assistant it must be a bad bottle. Tried on paper to take home, again nothing after few mins. Lol I sucked on provided coffee beans and spent some time amongst my life favourites to get over the trauma. Definitely not a safe blind buy.

Okay so this for me smells like bohemian/hippie shops that were popular during 2000s, the ones that imported a lot of items from India (?). Idk, anyway, this reminds me of those shops but in the best way possible. It reminds me of my childhood, and now it represents the alternative version of me, where she followed my mom's spiritual path and still believes in magical world beyond ours. Seeing the notes now, I do get eastern incense (hence the shop association), ylang-ylang (but this one does not turn cat-pissy on me!), mango, a bit of cinnamon (which is not listed). If there is coconut, it smells more like coconut water. Full bottle worthy.

Mango and patchouli together is a combination that smells pretty weird. I can't grasp exactly what they were going for with this one, but at the same time, I can't help but kind of like it. That's Guerlain for you!! Florabloom EDT is more of an airy pink showergel fun scent, (I can't speak to the EDP because I've never smelled it...) but this absolu, by comparison, is denser, woodier, and has a kind of rubbery thing going on. I really want a lot more tuberose from it, that's my only critique.

A momentary flash of something from my youth. Something golden.. A golden scent, a golden bottle. It took me a while. It smells like Elnet hairspray, the original, from over thirty years ago. I don't mean it in a derogatory way. My mother got it as a gift from relatives in Switzerland and I secretly borrowed it when I was sixteen just for the smell. I don't use hairspray anymore, so I'll have to buy Florabloom Absolu. Nostalgia. It smells like my youth and like my mother in the morning.

Opens as a floral bathroom freshener, simply put. Dries down as if Sol De Janeiro decided to put out a blend of SDJ 48 and Black Orchid. Not bad, but bizzare. Too fresh to be opulent, too simple to be complex, too patchouli - dirty jasmine heavy to be an easy daily wear. Just gives this feel of air from the AC mixing with scents of truffle cheese and a pina colada. There are still notes of the air freshener lingering.

I’m not sure where I would wear it, but I really like the composition. It feels rich, royal, distinguished, and beautifully sweet. I truly enjoyed it. to me its more like pleasant bar soap quality, to wear I really dont see occasion where to wear it. Masterpiece of moss blend. Its so French I love it. There is more spices in it black pepper, nutmeg, mustard seeds, anise, mint, patchuli

a nice creamy floral, but the tropical notes really trow me off - i got this as a sample gift, and it's def not my type of perfume as it's tropical. however, i don't mind it as much as i thought i would, it's pretty nice and if you like florals with a hint of that creamy mango and coconut sweetness with the sandalwood drydown, i think this could be a nice option. :)

Not a patchouli fan and not sensing much here. I was expecting much more considering the reviews. Rather a very sandalwood background with white flowers on top. And not a super strong tuberose either. Maybe it shows different in colder weather. A nice elegant and easy to wear floral sandalwood.
