Frenchy Lavande

So glad to have smelled this after regrettably ignoring its original form in the wood-lined bottle. This is actually what I wanted Dimanche a la Campagne/Herbes Troublantes to be. It's a beautiful herbal citrus up top, with notable verbena and a slightly astringent lavender. It rests on a bed of coumarin and white musks. It actually evokes for me a sweeter, more contemporary and herbal Eau Sauvage. It has what feels like a very well-balanced use of the ubiquitous and screechy dihydromyrcenol (see Drakkar Noir for the non-judicious use of it) to freshen up and abstract the naturals in just the right way. It is hard to justify shelling out the asking price, but I covet a 10-15 ml format.

Guerlain just does not miss! Frenchy Lavande is one of the best lavender scents I have tried. It's fresh, clean, smooth and slightly sweet from the citrus, but what really stands out is how natural the lavender smells. Most lavender fragrances I have tried are too strong or lean feminine. Feels like walking by a garden full of herbs. Opening contains some barbershop-y aspects, however as it dries down, everything settles and blends well. Do I think this is worth the resellers price? No. The scent is nice, however at the prices people are asking for it, I cannot find myself justifying it. 8.4/10

This smells great. It's a lavender scent, but much more than that. The added citrus is super nice, with added "green" notes. If you imagine standing in a lavender field on a sunny, breezy spring day with your eyes closed... that's what this smells like. I love it. I was a fan until I saw the price. Completely laughable that they are trying to charge $500-700 for this. I don't care how big the bottle is, that price is insane. If they reduced the price to $250ish and it could be found at discounters for less, it would actually sell.

This is everything I’ve been looking for in a lavender fragrance. It’s a wonderful balance of lavender, green, and citrus on a bed of ambergris and tonka that’s intoxicating. The signature Guerlain DNA really stands out. It’s the perfect summer fragrance to me. It’s refreshing to spray on the skin on a hot day. I got a decant of this curious to try it out. I did not expect to like it as much I do. I find myself continually reaching for it. The only downside is the price. I managed to get a deal on it from someone selling theirs.

Literally everything I was craving in the summer: the classic Eau de Cologne DNA, but with stronger aromatics than neroli. The lavender here is not the star, but it plays the pivotal role of extending the aromatics into the heart of the fragrance, preventing a white floral takeover. The base is just enough to substantiate, but not too heavy to fundamentally alter the fragrance. Just perfect, if you want to smell clean and inoffensive.

This is my all time favourite perfume! I don’t think it’s masculin at all. Love the freshness of it but with a depth. Lavender fiend, I don’t get much lavender here but It’s perfect for me, which is quite an unusual choice. I cannot fault it in any way. To me this is a masterpiece.

It's a fresh and green lavendar. In some ways it reminds me of Le Labo Lavande 31. Some people may see it as masculine; for me it's perfectly unisex. It's a hot, sunny and dry summer day today, and I'm enjoying the freshness brought along by this frag. Definitely FB worthy!

The best citrus aromatic that exists. Period. I have and love alot of them, and this is my favorite. Amazing petitgrain, citruses and lavender. With a fuzzy warm tonka base. A masterpiece. Actually worth the price. 10/10

I'm in mood to try many classic citrusy scents these days so gave this a try. This is So Classic, a cleaner lighter version of the all time masterpiece Eau Sauvage. Eau Sauvage smells a bit more complex, vintage and performs better From multiple sales associates it's discontinued whatever stock available will run out. My opinion get the Eau Sauvage, it a heaven for classic citrus lovers Cheers

I don't usually care for lavender (therefore most fougeres), but it's quite an invigorating scent—verbena wins the day!

This should have been lavender’s moment. And she's present as should be—soft, calming, with that familiar purple-hued serenity, neither too dry nor too camphoric, a balance of floral airiness and herbal depth. But our lead singer never quite takes center stage. Instead, there is lemon—sharp, bright, and insistent. Not the golden glow of Amalfi zest, nor the gentle, blurred whisper of indistinct citrus that graces fine colognes. This is in your face, a little too clean, too unjuicy, bordering on something chemical instead of realistic. A flicker of kitchen cleaner, a sudden, almost sterile sheen that makes you wince before you even realize why. But then, just as the realisation begins to settle, this sharpness eases, thank the heavens it does. Green steps forward. Verbena, fresh and slightly waxy, a lemon of its own but softer, herbal, as if bruising leaves between your fingers. Petitgrain follows, its bitterness lending structure, keeping the lemon from spiraling into something thin and piercing. There is something leafy now, something textured, the citrus folding into a fresher, more aromatic greenness, more natural, more tempered. Sage creeps in, an herbal breath weaving through the composition, almost woody, almost dry, but still fluid, still gentle. It blurs into the base, where grassier notes take hold—not dewy, not damp, but warm and slightly sweetened, as if kissed by sunlight. A touch of hay, a whisper of coumarin, something grounding yet unremarkable. It lingers. It is pleasant. It is fine. The lavender has resigned itself to a supporting performer. And fine is all it ever is. To be fair, there is nothing to hate—alike how there is nothing to love. Just a fleeting play of lemon and green, of lavender that soothes but shys away, insecure, relinquishing its deserved position to notes that speak loud but unsure, a base that hums but never sings. A very definite 5/10.

From the name, the color of the juice, yes I’d expect to smell lavender as the main note here, but alas that’s not the way it is with this bottle. This is a lemon! Well, not quite like the way Americans mean, but literally a lemon scent. Lemon verbena takes the leading role here and, with the extra citrus notes, the scent went straight refreshingly bright. If you’re looking for a great citrus scent, this is it! But if you’re looking for a great, lavender scent, be prepared to be disappointed.

Fresh and green Lavendar with very low performance. Not worth the price. partial/decant is sufficient as you will not going to use Mutiple times. Scent: 6/10 Silage: 5/10 [ 1+ Feet radius for initial 30 minutes] Longevity: 4/10 [ 1+ Hrs, mostly stays as skin sent] Bottle: 6/10 Price: 4/10 [Not worth the price] [Edit - 21 Sept'25] After Maceration it become a beast. Solid 6+ Hours of longevity and 4+ hours of Silage. This turnout incredibly amazing. No feel it worth the price.

This smells like fruit loops cereal But considering how high the price is for a scent like this, not the worst thing you can get but also nothing special about this 6.5/10

There is something sour/bitter in the top notes. However, the dry-down is very nice. Just stay with Eau Sauvage. It’s more affordable, easier to find, and more masculine.

Haven't smelled Roger & Gallet's Lavender, but managed to sample this yesterday on a card. The lavender comes out strong and clean, with not much musk/floral but more herbal tone, even savoury (from the sage). I expected more citrus brightness based on notes but the herbal theme was very pleasant. In the drydown I can really smell ambergris and vetiver, both complement the lavender well. Overall adjectives that come to mind is business casual, intelligent, and too sophisticated for one's own good ;) Solid like. On a side note I think this line can be layered with one another to pull different facets of a scent. I can see Frenchy Lavande layered with Santal Pao Rosa for a more woody, deep interpretation or with Rose Cherie to create a soft, sweeter powdery floral aroma. Neither would be out of place for men and women.

Frenchy Lavande is a beautiful citrus fragrance, possibly one of the best I've smelled in my life. However I believe the name is misleading to those who might be expecting an aromatic Fougere, when what it really is is a heavy citrus fragrance with a lavender undertone underneath. As with most Guerlain fragrances from this line, the price is outrageous. I could see this being a spring and summer signature. An alternative would be Dior Eau Sauvage, which I would take over this any day of the week. I've not much to say about this fragrance other than it is high quality and overpriced.

Quite a stock lavender, I would say. I'm yet to find a lavender that knocks me socks off, or even wows me, and this, unfortunately, is another one to add to the list. Equal parts ambergris and lavender, which work well together, along with a woody element in the background, which I'm assuming is the vetiver, and everything is held in balance and nothing is out of place, obnoxious or over-the-top. Having said that, it is a little unspectacular, and forgettable. Not one I'll be looking to try again...

A crisp, aromatic lavender that channels effortless French countryside charm—fresh linens, herb gardens, and relaxed afternoons with a glass of rosé. It’s the scent for spring and summer days, casual lunches, or light evenings when you want clean, uplifting elegance without any heaviness or fuss. Longevity is solid for a lavender, around 6–8 hours on skin with a bright, airy sillage that projects gently at first then settles close and refreshing.

Lemon verbena is the most dominant note off my skin. The lavender is there, but this doesn’t remind me of anything else.The fragrance as a whole does give me a bit of an Eau Savauge vibe with its green notes plus lemon. I think it is decent, and by the looks of the comments it can really work well for some people, but it didn’t sing for me.

As so many things people commented below, it is very citrusy at first spray. The name in my opinion is misleading, as I was expecting something with a stronger lavender, as in Atkinson’s lavender. It is fresh and probably a good option for summer or spring. However, there are cheaper alternatives to this type of fragrance.

This is really good! I have an old sample and regret not buying a bottle at the time. A fougere with aspects of L'Eau Boisee and Caron Sport, it's really beautiful! Fortunately it's quite a big sample haha.

this is nice! it’s not personally for me but i think citrus lovers would appreciate this! i expected more floral notes but it’s very green and citrus. great for spring

The main player in here is the Verbena note. Opens with an herbaceous lavender mixed with coumarin and right after goes to the citrus domain. Pros: Fresh and french.

Anyone came here to read how good is this ?! Generally it is regular lavender, similar lavender body spray in nearest pharmacy, The price they asking for is crazy .

Absolute INSANITY how much these bottles are going for now. A basic fresh lavender scent that is worth no more than $50. This is fucking bonkers.
