Habit Rouge Parfum

Been sitting on this review for a while, just to make sure I'm doing it justice. Well, after a number of occasions wearing HRP, I have to say, I am simply blown away. Guerlain have achieved an amazing feat, a masterclass of blending excellence, taking advantage of the original HR DNA whilst managing to endow it with a delightful, niche underbelly. It has the instantly recognisable floral and citrus punch of the original EDT, but less glaringly so, rounded off by a chocolatey-patchouli and vanilla-rum middle and a strongly animalic base. There is a touch of leather too, but very much playing a supporting role. I love the way the vanilla has been absorbed into the other notes, sweetening them slightly without ever taking over and becoming one of those horrid cookie dough scents. Honestly, I don't think I've ever encountered such a replete and well-balanced composition. HRP has become my special occasion scent, above all others. My first choice when I want to impress. Could I wear it for any occasion? No. Definitely not. This is a scent with the capacity to overwhelm if not handled carefully. It will not hide in the general mist of a crowded room. It will not be silenced. I got my first bottle delivered to work, a few months ago, and half a spray was enough, if not too much. It gets you noticed though, oozing class and self-confidence. Not a scent for wallflowers! Lifelong HR EDT wearers might struggle with this particular iteration of their beloved brand, as I know they really buy into the ferocity of the leather/citrus/rose punch that partners the original. However, the increased number of notes extant in the HRP, and the more even-handed approach taken towards blending the levels, might seem incongruous to trad HR EDT wearers, but objectively speaking it's really difficult to find fault. To my eyes, this is the PERFECT special occasion scent. Plus, I found a 100ml bottle for just over £80. What an absolute bargain...what an absolute belter of a scent! (P.S. I first tried this through a sample decanting firm, and the impression then was very different to the full bottle experience I get now. Some scents really suffer from being oxygenated through the decanting process, and this appears to be one of them. Try your samples over the counter, or just take the plunge.) (P.P.S. In people's efforts to describe HRP to the uninitiated, I've seen a number of interesting comparisons with other well-known marques. To my nose, the best comparison that can be made, is to imagine Musc Ravageur accompanied by a big old slug of carnation/rose oil. The chocolatey-patchouli of HRP actually smells quite a lot like MR's sandalwood note, and they're both heavy on the animalics...MR the more so, of course)

I was expecting something else(it was a blind buy). I also have the edt version(not my cup of tea but it's a solid(I could say timeless) fragrance especially for a mature man/nose) This one is such a nice surprise. It has vanilla, lots of vanilla(but a very nice one, a niche/exquisite type of vanilla not an usual designer one). But it's balanced by the aroma of rum (just the right amount), a delicate note of leather, some patchouli. A perfume that gives you a special mood. The opening is funny, cherry cola always comes to mind. This part lasts for a few minutes, after which the rum and leather notes with vanilla in the background intervene. This part is pleasant, but in the base notes...wow, what a pleasant vanilla although I am not necessarily a fan of this note, even more so if it is a predominant one (especially since today's perfume market is bombarded with a vanilla/tonka combination that is often uninteresting, redundant). But what they did in this perfume is very beautifully done. Let me not forget, it has something else in the background, small fragments of the original and which adds another plus to the originality. It also performs well without being aggressive, it is there for a very long time but without being harsh nor with some achords that denote synthetic flavor just because they are in large quantities. Very good also in terms of the balance of the composition. It is also versatile, I think it is ideal for spring and autumn (in areas with a temperate climate) but can be worn almost all year round (possibly less in periods with high heat). For 100 euros, that's how much I paid for 100ml, it is a special perfume, definitely in the top of my favorites. I did not expect something like this but maybe a denser version of the original and possibly slightly modernized but what a pleasant surprise especially in these times when everything is done just to copy something already existing. On a scale from 1 to 10 i'll give it a 9.5

Before I begin, this is probably one of my favourite designer fragrances of all time, if not potentially my favourite depending on my mood. It's quite hard to describe what this fragrance precisely smells like but I think I would classify this a VERY smooth semi-gourmand Vanilla-Rum fragrance with a smoky slightly powdery patchouli in the back, this to me the epitome of what traditional French Perfumery is usually associated with; Smoothness, slightly smoky/airy, classy, sophisticated, and a bit powderyness all to wrap it up. I'd say the Rum in this isn't entirely that boozy (comparing it to something like 'Old Fashioned by Killian' which id say is a 10 in boozyness in the opening, id say this is a 4), as I said before its very smooth and not that alcoholic overall but its quite pleasant, the Vanilla doesn't smell like the Vanilla in most designers and it blends in with the Rum and Patchouli seamlessly, and the Patchouli albeit being a bit further in the back is also detectable especially closer to the skin, it's smoky and slightly powdery and it smells sweet?; it's just on the border of being the chocholatey type of Patchouli. Good for the colder months, and Perfectly unisex in my opinion but leans a fair bit masculine, excels in both formal + informal scenarios, honestly pretty good all around if you want a stronger projecting fragrance, speaking projection, this is quite loud on my skin, especially for the first 4 or so hours, then it becomes a medium projecting fragrance for most of the remaining wearing. Overall It's easily one of my favourite fragrances, especially amongst designers, the quality and scent profile is top notch, and its quite hard for me to describe how this scent makes me feel, but I'd say it's a calming, inviting, sweet, relaxing, and elegant scent that's full bottle worthy for fans of the scent profile like me. Final Verdict is a 9.2/10

I’d like to comment on the vanilla aspect of this perfume. It’s definitely of the bitter variant, which was confusing. Then again, the rum note is prominent so it’s not all that surprising that there’s something astringent here. Still, it’s perplexing. Why not make it a smooth hit of vanilla to counter the strength of the alcoholic accord? Fortunately for me, I have a strip of actual Madagascar vanilla (that I always have for food reasons). The way you use a strip of vanilla is you scrape the seeds, cut up the strip and cook sugar down with it to make vanilla syrup. Now, if you put the vanilla strip sans seeds to your nose, which I did, you’d find the vanilla note in Habit Rouge Parfum. It is a little unbearable at that distance because it’s concentrated, but it’s unmistakably vanilla. That, in a nutshell, is this perfume. Up close and the initial half hour, it’s harsh and a little indecipherable. If you hold your wrist at arm’s length and let the scent waft to you, though, it’s beautiful. This juice is meant for other people to smell on you and it is a beautiful blend of vanilla, rum, leather and bergamot. The bergamot note is faint in here, but I’m getting the feeling that it’s responsible for keeping the fragrance light, airy and fresh that makes this perfume ideal for a late afternoon, almost sunset-time spray. This is an interpretation of vanilla-boozy elements that you simply must try. As always, skin and strip test before buying. Edit: To substantiate the “eternal” rating, I still get whiffs of this perfume on my car seat WEEKS after wearing it for a Sunday afternoon stroll. I wear Habit Rouge rarely so I know when and how much I put on that day. It was one spray on the back of my shirt, around the neck area. Actually unbelievable longevity.

The original Habit Rouge from 1965 by Jean-Paul Guerlain is like a hunting jacket.. Delphine Jelks new Habit Rouge Parfum from 2024 is like that same jacket but made of black velvet and worn to a fancy opera. For a time people have been trying to make new versions of Habit Rouge that are a little different. But the new Parfum does not just make it a little different it makes it better for people who really like perfume. It does not start with a strong citrus smell like some other versions do. Instead it starts with an exciting smell that is like a play of shadows and light. What is really smart about this perfume is that it uses a kind of patchouli that smells like liquor and a mix of rum and hazelnut that is very addictive. It smells rich and smooth. It is not too sweet or cheap. The vanilla in it is dry and smoky. It goes well with the leather smell. The leather smell is dark and sophisticated. It feels very real. When I wear Habit Rouge Parfum it smells great on me. It is not too loud. It creates a nice smell, around me that lasts for a long time. Twelve hours. It feels like a smart and artistic perfume. Habit Rouge Parfum is not a perfume that I wear it is a perfume that I really like. It respects the tradition of the company that made it. It also has its own unique style. I think it is a success. Habit Rouge Parfum is a perfume that I admire. I think it is a great example of what a good perfume should be. Habit Rouge Parfum is a perfume.

Rum Accord meets Guerlinade ! I took some time to fully understand this masterpiece. It feels very complex. Initially you notice that is a vanilla forward perfume with some spices, warmth and boozy. But you know there is something more beneath: some leather, rose... So to fully understand this scent you have to know how in perfumery they make a rum accord and what is the Guerlinade. Guerlinade is the signature olfactory (scent) accord of the perfume house Guerlain, meaning it's a blend of six iconic ingredients used in many of its fragrances to create a recognizable, unique scent signature. The six main components are vanilla, bergamot, tonka bean, iris, rose, and jasmine. To create a rum accord for, you have to combine ingredients such as vanilla, amber, patchouli, tonka bean, leather, sandalwood, and agarwood, which provide the characteristic sweet, spicy, and woody base. After this information, it becomes easier to understand. It is complex, but only two formulas are used. Therefore, the notes used are: Vanilla, tonka, leather, patchouli, bergamot, sandalwood, rose, iris, and jasmine. Performance wise, the longevity is beast mode . It last 12h+ on skin easily , with a nice and noticeable 8h scent bubble. It’s classic, French, refined, seductive and modern with a classic/old style twist. And it pulls compliments. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING !!!

Every now and then, a fragrance inspires me to share my thoughts and write a review. This definitely inspired me. The original Habit Rouge EDT was one of the original fragrances that got me into the world of perfumes. Long story short, my dad owned it, and I loved it. Fast forward 9 years or so, my beautiful girlfriend bought me a bottle of Habit Rouge Parfum for christmas, as she knew I enjoyed the original. I think this fragrance hits harder when you're familiar with and enjoy the original EDT. What I think what they don't tell you about Habit Rouge Parfum is that the listed notes of Vanilla Rum Bergamot and Patchouli are all there ON TOP of the original DNA of the EDT. So this is a beautifully blended modern take on the wintery rum and vanilla scent, built on top of that classic rosey leather powdery-ness. It's like mixing a modern fragrance with a fragrance from the 1960s. It works so well! Not at all dated since the original is timeless. Performance is brilliant too. 10 hours strong and the dry down is clear as crystal. Beautiful autmn winter fragrance. I'm currently wearing it lightly during summer and it's great as long as you're not too heavy on it. Beautiful creation. 9.5/10

Sampling Guerlain Habit Rouge Parfum, my first proper try of the Habit Rouge line, so I do not really have much perspective on the line. It’s a 2024 release, that follows 2023’s Prive and is followed by 2025’s Spirit, but seems to be more highly-regarded than these, or most other entries in the line, which is why, along with its description, that I wanted to seek it out first. The fragrance itself is a dense, powdery, rich, semi-sweet blend, with listed key notes of vanilla, rum, patchouli, and bergamot. It’s powdery in a great way, a bit of combination of elements that I enjoy from Guerlain’s own Cuir Beluga (a powdery vanilla/suede) and Dior Homme Parfum (a powdery leather), comparably elegant to the former, a pretty remarkable achievement to be in its vicinity, really, and I can see why others seem to love this one so much, a sort of modern take on a high-end men’s scent, the pricing of which is very reasonable at retail, frankly, at $175 for 100ml, fittingly in parfum concentration and with very high performance. I’m really impressed; it’s outstanding—striking, frankly. 9 out of 10

It’s definitely denser and more concentrated than any of the previous iterations, Extrait included. There’s that signature lemon/woody accord that’s present in all Habit Rouges, save for L’Instinct, but it’s also got some musky/amber/spiciness, and some booziness. Funny how the advertising features a leather background because if I had to distill it down to two notes, I’d say lemon and leather, even though leather isn’t a listed note. But leather can be such a combination of so many things; I’m still sticking to leather. I have to give it some distance, rather than put my nose right on it, or else I get Lemon Pledge, which isn’t the worst thing, but it’s not what I want to be thinking of when wearing a fragrance. Over all, this has become my favorite Habit Rouge, even over Dress Code, of which it really reminds me, but with a deeper intensity. Imagine an Habit Rouge Dress Code Intense. But that’s it. Favorite Habit Rouge incarnation, hands down. I should buy bottles and bottles of it before it gets reformulated or discontinued.

I was originally let down by this when I first tried it. It seem like a very weak, soapy and incency at the same time. Not my thing at all. I put it in my "to be continued" dark drawer and forgot about it until the weather really changed cold. When I decided to try it in the cold, the juice had darkened and OH, MY GOD. This changed into a elegant blast of woods, boozy (almost dry) vanilla, that quite frankly blew me away. To my nose, the woods coming through with a citrus touch lift the fragrance while the rum and vanilla are doing it's own thing. The dry down is a sumptuous vanilla cookie powdered with incense ashes. I got 5 compliments at work on the first day. One coworker said I smelled like a fresh cut bouquet of lilies. People kept coming back to take another whiff and asked what I was wearing. I can't warp my head around how much this changed and how deep, and comforting it is. I could feel the perfume rise when exposed to the cold again. It's not blind buy safe but I'm glad I kept it.

I have always had great admiration for Guerlain. In my opinion, it is a house that maintains an admirable honesty with its consumers: when it announces a Parfum version, it truly delivers one, with a notable concentration, high-quality raw materials, and an evolution that is clearly perceptible on the skin. In the case of Habit Rouge Parfum, my experience is somewhat particular. The opening contains a note that I personally don’t enjoy, although fortunately it only lasts around 30 minutes. After that, the fragrance transforms and reveals a wonderful drydown: warm, elegant, and deeply refined, with many hours of longevity. That is why when I tried the limited edition Habit Rouge Spirit, my impression was immediate: to my nose, it is clearly a more polished and improved version of the Parfum. That initial facet disappears, and everything feels more balanced and refined from the very first moment. Habit Rouge Parfum is already excellent, but Spirit feels like its perfected version.

Been itching to get Habit Rouge Parfum for quite a while now. Not sure why I kept purchasing other frags before purchasing Habit Rouge, but I've been missing out. They say Habit Rouge is similar to Shalimar. I wish I could get a whiff of Shalimar to understand. But Shalimar has to smell amazing if Habit Rouge smells this amazing. I really adore Habit Rouge. This is my first day wearing the fragrance and I can't help but keep smelling myself. Yes, it's late June, the middle of summer, but there's something about the heat that really makes Habit Rouge stand out. And not in a bad way. It's like a boozy spiced vanilla hug. Several hours in and it took on a nice powdery note. Soft. The patchouli is well balanced. It's not heady, but it's there. I can detect the citrus, but like the patchouli, it's not heady. It's well blended. Nothing will ever top my Coco Noir, but Habit Rouge is a close contender. Now... to get some Shalimar.

Shalimar meets Habit Rouge. Lover of both, especially in edt version, this is a very beautiful take on both. You have the trademark bergamot/lime opening but a bit more subtle, the smokey vanilla that characterizes Shalimar with its rubbery edge plus the rosy leather that makes Habit Rouge pop. It’s hard to pinpoint where one ends and the other begins. The rummy vanilla that’s in the base is sweet, but not in a tonka way; it’s a rich custard vanilla that feels of the family. The sweetness is already in both but here is maxed without being too much. Shalimar for Men? Habit Rouge for Women? Who cares when it smells so friggin good, lasts and leaves a perfect trail of scent! Anyone, use it! I just hope that Shalimar L’Essence is just as good and not another plain vanilla variation like it’s said to be by those who’ve smelled it; give us a version with more fangs and bang please!

It opens with the DNA of the traditional, with citrus nuances mixed with vanilla notes. This vanilla is the star of the perfume and shines throughout the duration of the perfume on the skin, going through several different stages. The citrus nuance disappears very quickly, giving way to the alcoholic accord of the rum, which, when mixed with the vanilla, becomes liqueur-like, and the earthy/spicy/resinous patchouli brings a dirty/animal touch to this vanilla that reminds me of the vanilla in FM's Musc Ravageur, and makes the perfume more sensual, warmer, and stays that way for most of the time, and it lasts a long time. After a few hours, it becomes a little powdery on the skin. And right at the end of its duration, when you have to put your nose to the skin, you can feel a smoky note that is still sweet from the vanilla. The quality of the notes is surreal.

A huge crush. This perfume is for me the perfect mix between an oriental pastry with orange blossom (in reality, it is bergamot according to the pyramid) and a western pastry with vanilla and rum. But even if the smell is delicious, this Habit Rouge is elegantly sweet; it is a refined delight. I am extremely surprised to see that it is categorized as a "men's perfume" because I find it totally unisex. Besides, it was indeed in the women's section that I found it, so it must please these ladies... Crazy staying power and sillage; I got so many compliments! It's definitely on my wish list. Edit: there is definitely a little animal note here (leather and/or oud or maybe the association patchouli/rum) but surrounded by all this "gourmandise", it's completely bearable even for me who don't like animal notes.

Oh, that's it. Finally I understand what I'm smelling - gosh, it took me took two full days of testing. This is amber. The big "vanilla" here is just the vanilla constituent of the amber accord: Habit Rouge Parfum doesn't smell vanilla more than the one third or so that is needed in creating the amber accord. It's not a boozy fragrance and not sweet either. Instead: Take a juicy dollop of fragrant, chewy, sexy golden amber. Then imagine the amber is oozing out syrupy rum. Like your chest perspiring under your shirt on a warm day. Then lay this rum-syrup-moist amber dollop on a leaf of dirty old patchouli. And there you have Habit Rouge Le Parfum. Addictive stuff. Not for teenagers. Very powerful performance. I don't care for vanilla fragrances nor boozy fragrances. This is neither, and this I love.

I’m really excited to share my thoughts on this amazing fragrance by Guerlain! If you’re like me and aren’t the biggest fan of patchouli, you’ve got to give this one a shot. It’s like patchouli has been given a warm hug by sweet vanilla and refreshing bergamot, making it feel gentle and inviting. The way it shines when paired with soft vanilla is just lovely! It’s as if all the ingredients have had a cozy soak in a barrel of rum, adding a fun twist to the scent. This creation is definitely a standout from Guerlain! The longevity is incredible—it really lasts all day. I think this fragrance is perfect for special occasions, like a proposal dinner. It truly feels like a work of genius to me! I’d give it a solid 10/10!

I have more than 5 fragrances in this category, but by far this is one of very few fragrances that I cannot get enough of. It is a very elegant and classy scent, certainly not a signature scent unless you're a mafia boss. Although it has its uses, to me it stands out in this category; boozy, woody, and I also get a nutty scent. It's sharp and not a sweet scent. It is definitely there for those who want to make a statement of their presence. I am more of an oversprayer in general, but 5 sprays from this one last me a good 8+ hours on skin, though more of a skin scent or close to skin after 5 hours. Overall I give this a 9/10 for performance (longevity and sillage), and 10/10 for the scent.

I just received this in the mail today. I am a long time fan of Guerlain. Since I was little I remember my grandmother spraying herself with Shalimar and my grandfather spraying himself with the eau de cologne. I already had a bottle of the Habit Rouge EDP but when I saw the Parfum had Rum, one of my favorite notes alongside vanilla, I simply had to buy it. I sprayed the EDP on my left hand and the Parfum on my right hand. The EDP is more citrusy, zingy, and powdery, more old school smelling. The Parfum is more rich and dark, the patchouli is prominent, and the rum adds a gorgeous booziness. Overall I think I enjoy the Parfum more but I will have to wear it more to make up my mind.

I am utterly in love with this gourmand, warm, unisex and modern version of Shalimar without any animalic notes, which highly increases the versatility of the fragrance. There is something magnetic about this scent, which is based on the typical "Guerlainade", the smoky tonka vanilla base, and it is absolutely beautiful. The boozy facets of it are a lot more elegant and exquisite than other trendy ones (Kilian, for example), which I find maybe nice in the air, but unwearable. Pour homme? I really don't think so. I am a woman and this perfume is definitely unisex, if not feminine leaning. A masterpiece:10/10, don't sleep on it, this one will go down as a staple in perfume history!

Bought this within 5 minutes after trying it for the first time today. It made me travel to a place far back in time, and this is what perfumery is all about. Super elegant, classy French perfumery. Very long lasting and projecting great, but is never obnoxious. A sparkling and effervescent bergamot top note gives way to the classic Guerlain vanilla. The sweetness is balanced through spices, a slight booziness from the rum accord adds further depth to this composition. Hints of patchouli in the dry down. Bought this for 125 euros, and for the price, I really can’t find anything remotely comparable or competitive to this modern masterpiece.

Lovely and french DNA. I have 3 Guerlian (ideal edt, Guerlain homme 2016 and L'Instant de Guerlain) I always wanted to have Habit Rouge Rouge Privé which is hard to find then come this and I found it for a 100 euros and I bilnd bought it. I don't regret it, it is the best blind buy I did ever. Very masculine & mature which has both nostalgic and modren vibes. It worth every penny.It reminds me of Dior eau Sauvage parfum ,very enjoyable. There are perfumes I use for myself without paying attention to what other think about, this one can be on of them. Exellent job Delphine Jelk.

A luscious, dreamy, woodsy and boozy vanilla. Yes, there is certainly sweetness but nothing overt, cloying. Indeed it blossoms beautifully, revealing the dramatic complexity of that quality patchouli Guerlain is known for and the woody rum. I realise (understandably) that the brand has somewhat ramped up the production line for which it’s been criticised, but am hoping this one is here to stay as is. Again, beast mode freaks should shuffle on as this parfum - and all the misnomers which may come with it - is not that. Rather, a quiet, confident, ageless man.

Guerlain knocked it out the park with this one. Like bathing in a smooth, boozy, syrupy marmalade, with a whiff of chocolate? Gorgeous stuff, with terrific performance. 'Traditional' HR was targetted at blokes but to me this is unisex. And the price - retailing at under £130 for 100ml = excellent value for a premium product. I can now have L'Eau for breakfast, EDT for lunch, this for dinner. 5/5 PS lovers of this might want to try Tom Fords Noir EdP, more violet up front, less boozy, but I thought they were close enough.

It's a pure masterpiece. It's Habit Rouge EdT ingredients (citruses, flowers) melt in rum and vanilla pods. It's not too boozy nor "vanillish", perfect composition. The patchouli is very light, you don't notice it. The longevity is also outstanding, it last more than 12 hours on my skin (the best of the 3 new Guerlain's parfums). Worth the retail price and amazing deal at discounters. Kudos to Delphine Jelk to bring Habit Rouge in the 2020s. She's the true successor to Jean Paul Guerlain and Thierry Wasser. 10/10

On dirait du Jelk qui fait du Polge qui fait du Guerlain. Imaginez le Lion caramélisé et moins fumé. L’ADN d’habit rouge est bien la, on retrouve même shalimar. Le tout est modernisé par la présence de nouvelles molécules et le retrait des touches animales qui ne doivent plus passer les tests de consommateurs. Portable en toutes saisons, HR le parfum possède une tenue indélébile et une belle projection. La note aigre sur touche devient équilibrée sur peau. L’Habit Rouge des générations post-millenials ?

Thats what must be called a PERFUME. Its just perfect, the vanilla with the classic vibe surrounding it makes it a masterpiece. I left my shirt hanging on the wall yesterday before i go to sleep, and today i can still smell some whiffs coming from its side so then i discoverd that it is coming from my shirt, what a beautiful scent, the longevity is amazing and i can still smell it on my shirt closely very clearly. It exceeded my expectations. Longevity 10/10 Sillage 9/10 Scent 9/10 Price 8/10

As much as I respect the OG edt, Habit Rouge parfum is where it's at for me, even though this one is definitely not fit for casual wear. It's a frag designed to make a (mature) statement and stand out from the plebs. And probably not everyone could pull this one off (me included), all the more since its sillage and longevity is way above average and won't leave your skin even after some proper scrubbing off. Beware, Habit Rouge parfum might end up wearing you if you don't pay attention.

عطر جميل جدا ولكنه مختلف، بداية العطر هي آبت روج التقليدي بدون شك ولكن مع لمسة واضحة من فانيليا غيرلان المميزة، ولكن بعد مرور ٣-٥ ساعات تسيطر الفانيليا والباتشولي وتستمر الى نهاية العطر. ثبات العطر مذهل ويمتد بالايام على الملابس وفوحانه قوي ولمدة ٥ ساعات باريحية. لا ارى انه مناسب لكبار السن اعتقد انه مناسب اكثر للرجال في منتصف العمر فهو عطر يغلب عليه الطابع الحديث مع لمسة كلاسيكية. لا اعتقد ان يدوم انتاج هذا العطر او على الاقل لن يستمر بهذه الجودة، فرصة للاقتناء

Oh my! What was I thinking few years ago when they had Habit Rouge in my Sephora as a NEW release (albeit back then those were EDT and EDP versions I'm assuming) and I hated it upon the very first spritz and never came back to try it again since. I have come back to it today, though, out of pure coincidence/boredom, and I absolutely love the Parfum reiteration of it! The dry down i absolutely divine! From initial hate, to "I wanna douse myself in it" now! LOL!

I made the mistake of trying this the first time in extreme heat. I did not like it. It was too obnoxious, sweet, and unrefined, like a freaking Montale—annoying and far from a Guerlain. I revisited this in moderate and cooler months. WOW, WOW, what an addicting, refined, lush, unique gourmand. Vanilla and rum done well, with a definite carnation spiciness like in the EDT and EDP. Tried the limited edition Spirit, but this is honestly even better and richer.

Take Habit Rouge and add some dirty notes to it. The result is an improved version of the original to the point of addictiveness. I tried it among many others, recent releases mostly. It caught my nose in terms of easy to detect notes, contrary to what might be today's standards - blends of aromatic chemicals that might or cannot be referred to "clean smells of nature". Guerlain seems to play against this trend. This clearly shows in this case.

A gourmand take on the legendary Habit Rouge DNA. Amped up rum and vanilla, with the bergamot following suit. Purists are not gonna like this because this does stray quite a bit from what Habit Rouge is "supposed to be" but this manages to fit right in. If you want something that's close to the original Habit Rouge today, go for Rouge Prive. It comes in a considerably prettier bottle and is close to my 2013/03 bottle of Habit Rouge EDP.

Absolute effing belter of a fragrance. A sharp, stingy opening that settles into a sweet, licorice-tinged vanilla dry-down. Guerlain absolutely does not miss, and this might just be their magnum opus. The dry-down is easily the classiest vanilla I’ve ever smelled, blended with soft rum and patchouli that give it an almost earthy depth. If you like classy, masculine vanilla fragrances, this is an absolute must.

Habit Rouge Parfum smells very similar to Shalimar EDT, but with a better note composition and an outstanding performance. Great to wear during autumn/winter nights. Love it! Despite it being marketed towards men, I say this fragrance is without a doubt unisex. On women, it opens up more sweet, with emphasis on the vanilla note. On men, it opens up more smokey and boozy, with emphasis on the rum note.

I haven't bought this (yet) because i accidentally purchased EDP, which i initially didnt like but now i love, but its heavenly. You can smell the quality and the richness on the first spray and for me this lasts most of the day, i cant stop smelling my skin. Worth the price, no qeustion, and there is no dupe on par with this. i think i love both equally but the vanilla gives this a unique edge.

Bought this one for my father on our last Paris trip and wow what an awesome gourmet perfume. It might be marketed towards men, but for me this one falls squarely in the unisex category. It easily fills the whole room with it's warm, boozy, vanilla-y notes. Shalimar is my personal favorite and I can definitely smell the Guerlain dna in this more masculine version. 10/10!

La salida es buena, quizás algo raro o más bien diría que no es muy típica en la perfumería de diseñador, pero el secado es genial. A los 15 minutos ya empiezas a notar una fantástica y riquísima vainilla con toques de ron. A las horas te queda un olor un pelín empolvado, a la vainilla, increíble, encantador y menos agresivo. Una joya si se consigue por menos de 110€.

I hate the EDT, find the EDP slightly more tolerable although the difference is negligible, and this one is nice. It was the screeching citrus notes I never got on with before, and here they're gone. I'm getting iris and leather. This is much closer to Shalimar than before. I do, however, think that HR Spirit is the only one I'll be wearing ongoing.

This is good stuff. Not sure if it's better than the more nuanced Rouge Privé though, the opening is the best part, that patchouli is really nice, slightly honeyed with a slight retro vibe. It then transitions into the vanilic part of Habit Rouge, with a pinch of rum. Best part is the performance : this lasts easily the whole day and projects a lot.

I don’t think I’ve written about this but this has become my personal favorite!!! There’s something about it, I get a dark floral slight citrus but only a hint on top of an anise drink, I personally don’t get vanilla... girls like the idéal parfum better, but I LOVE this! And is always slightly mixed in whether it’s one spritz or more

I can see why this reminds people of Old Spice. Masculine rum and leather, but wonderfully rounded and softened by a resinous vanilla accord. There is nothing screechy, artificial-smelling, or overwhelming about this fragrance. This is a comforting masculine scent, a man whose arms I'd want to curl up in at the end of a long day.

I just got this and I’m in love! It is powdery but in such an enjoyable way that only Guerlain can do! It’s not very vanilla until the end and even then it’s a beautiful vanilla, I feel like there’s a good amount of spice too it and there’s not much citrus, and I guess some bourbon and rum but it’s very unique.

Boozy patchouli with a splash of vanilla. Outstanding performance with easily 8-10hrs & jumps off of my skin for the first 5hrs. Smells like the perfect scent for the holidays!! Now Fragrantica, cut the crap with the damn pop ups. Sponsors or not, no one wants to see irritating pop ups every 10-15 seconds!

This is gorgeous it’s sweet creamy and potent but has a clean waxy undertone kinda powdery and a touch of incense Stellar quality very much niche feeling I can see the similarity to our satin mood and lasts just as long What more can I say this is GORGEOUS my new fall and winter signature IM IN LOVE

Oh waw. Just came here to say "Merci Guerlain!" a big thank you to my favorite house now, on the same level as CHANEL. Delphine Jelk was not playing on this line. Excellent perfumery! For the elegant and for the working, sophisticated and smart people. A 10/10 I will repurchase. Excellent.

Habit Rouge was allegedly the "first amber fragrance for men" & it's like OKAY but what if, and hear me out, it was the 10 gazillionth amber fragrance for ME (This is a gorgeous flanker, subtle boozy and androgynous. I'm hooked. The word 'addictive' really does come to mind here.)

Wow, I mean it smells simple yet high quality. Like drinking a hot buttered rum by the fireplace on a cold winter's eve with a vanilla candle or even cookies baking in the background. Surreal! The best from Guerlain I've smelled, I'm sure. Way better than the Ideal line, imo.

This is, sadly, vile to my nose. I love Guerlain in general, and one of my all time favourites are from this renowned House of French perfume mastery, yet this one just fails on all fronts with me. I just can't.,, Horrid! Horrid beyond point of return... Sorry, but no!

Love x 1000000 :) I love all Guerlains I tried. This one is magical- creamy patchouli with the hint of citruses. Perfection! Edit: somebody mentioned that waxy smell after some time. Yes, I can smell it but it is more prominent on hot weather, but I dont mind it.
