Insolence Eau de Parfum

Happy I am so happy to have this acquisition on my the palm of my hands. I remember testing this out in the store a few years ago and I hated how it echoed nothing but the slowly burning tupperware.Mila Le Blanc was precise in her description of this as being an obnoxious perfume.It was on the very first test.Especially if you have not been acquainted to the smell of a homogenous concoction of strong iris and violets.But after a few weeks after that test back in 2017,I smelt it again in a hotel.A lovely woman,so clean and classy as she strutted her way through the premises,filled the smell of a familiar scent that repelled me a few weeks prior.I wanted it and I desperately wanted it added to my collection but it was too expensive and I didn't have the budget to purchase it since I've just recently purchase Thierry Mugler's Alien. I am so delighted I have this funny but cute bottle.It is extremely similar to the EDT.So there's no need on having both. The only noticeable difference between the two is that,the EDT has the sparkling and fizzy quality.It is the glistening water in spring on rivers and lakes.The EDP on the otherhand is indeed deeper and sensual and mysterious to it's true hidden characteristics.It still retains that the rich wet powder and heavy floral soliflore qualities the EDT has.You have to wear each,under different weather,climate and time,and find the perfect time to wear it for you to be able to appreciate it in it's full glory. Insolence is something everyone should atleast experience once in their lifetime.It is like the Chanel No.5,or even the Shalimar of the 21st Century alongside TF Black Orchid,MFK Baccarat Rouge 540 and the great likes. This difference is quite minute.Undetectable to the olfactory senses of the unkeen noses. The only thing that saddens me is I only have the 30ml bottle.

i bought this fragrance years ago, and did never use it, till yesterday i did put it on before i went to my work, one spray on the top part of my back, the sillage is enormous 12 hours max, and all the day i did smell a lovely wife of this parfum, for me it is the bigger sister of l'heure de nuit. that one is way softer, to wear, i did enjoy yesterday with wearing it, gues that many years ago, it did not fit me yet, but never did sold my bottle, when i was in town yesterday, i though, i wil grab a sample from the bee bottle edp version, and still you do smell the insolence , not that loud and not that bold, and for sure not that same sillage what i had yesterday, am 4 hours away now, and it is so diluted or water down, comparing to the original.. for people who can't stand bold perfume this wil be a great option. but one spray comparing to 4 spray;s of the latest one.. thats brrr in my eyes similar with vol de nuit, and jicky.. the bee bottles are less potent, and less in sillage, all are watert down, i have no idea why, could it be a marketing issue, perhaps, (more spray's is a empty bottle sooner ?_ instead of one spray from the older versions :) i can recommend to buy the bee bottle if you like water down fragrances and still have the guerlain smell after it, just be away to spray it more than a original, if you like the real deal this is absoluut a winner.. a pretty warm full frangance.

I have to agree with Freebirdsoul`s review - it brings certain vibes akin to other fumes - it`s what Jasmine is to Alien, Anise/Licorice & Violet is to Lolita Lempicka, what Plum & Tuberose is to Poison... I think if jasmine, tuberose, or anise were added to this `fume,it would be too close to smelling like a dupe of something else. The way it is, it`s intoxicating, modern with more than a nod to the traditional Iris ,Tonka, and Violet parfums. Violet and berry mash up jam, rich, syrupy, very much a surprise at first blast ( and I made no attempt at sparse sprays ) . This is no light `n flirty flighty floral fruity for a carefree lighthearted romp. It`s seriously sexy and deep sweet. I would recommend this to the light fruity floral lovers who might want a step up to something more intense and enduring. The sandalwood is dreamy and creamy. A slight incense waft. Enchanted foresty, without conifers or added herbals. I do not especially get the powder aspect. I did sense an undercurrent of soap, shampoo from time to time, but it did not dominate the other notes. Heavy on wear and projection. My own tag words would be - mature sweet`n sexy , sensual, class, top quality. I am very pleased. This was a blind buy based on reviews here, and notes. I plan to wear on my wedding Do Over day in Las Vegas. I feel all that Insolence EDP features is the perfect choice.

I live for powdery scents and love violets, so this is the perfect perfume for me! I don’t find this overly sweet or cloying at all, even though I believe many view it as a sweet powerhouse. I can’t get enough of it and probably douse myself in a bit too much, but I’m blissfully unaware because that’s how much I love it. One of my favorite candies is crystallized/sugared violets and I also really love the candy Parma Violets. This perfume smells just like them, yet still maintains an elegance and doesn’t scream “teenybopper”. It reminds me the type of perfume that would be worn by a woman of the Belle Époque, Countess Élisabeth Greffulhe or perhaps Laure Hayman. If Madeleine Lemaire’s floral watercolors could smell, they would smell like this. My mom smelled this on me when I walked past her and loved it too, so I just bought her a bottle for Valentine’s Day. I’m also a fan of new the bottle. While I don’t particularly like uniform packaging, which is what Guerlain is going for, I do think the new frosted bottle suits the fragrance better. The original one looked tacky and outdated in a bad early 2000s way, this new bottle looks elegant and antiqued, again reminds me of a bottle you could find during the Belle Époque period. It’s not an eyesore like the old bottle and I can keep it out on my vanity without it distracting from my decor.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet!! If I had a smaller collection and was the type of woman who would lay claim to one scent as her signature, Insolence would be a top contender! She opened me up to the divine smell of violets, something I previously thought of as a supporting player to my beloved white florals and florientals - L'heure Bleu for example. Since purchasing her, I have been on the lookout for other violet-dominant fragrances. So far, the only other one I have purchased is Gucci Flora Generous Violet. They are night and day in that the former is an unabashed, dare I say insolent seductress in her boudoir, carefully applying her makeup, preparing herself and wondering which man she will seduce tonight. The later is a young woman preparing for her prom, still innocent, and unaware of the effect her beauty is beginning to have on the people around her. Insolence is the diva, GV the ingenue. I like GV quite a bit, but I adore Insolence! While I am not generally a person who likes to blend my perfumes, I have tried layering this with the aforementioned LHB and it's a lovely effect, with Insolence adding some sweetness to LHB, and LHB lending some depth to Insolence. Just a suggestion, though I do prefer each as they already are!

I am late to the party !!! Where was I all this time before INSOLENCE happened into my life?? INSOLENCE Edp is the most beautiful elixir ever! It makes me feel so happy! All the sweet violets I get from it make me feel gorgeous, super nostalgic, romantic, girly, feminine, bubbly, creative, inspired, so blessed, so complete...so ME ! I guess it suits so well my personality :) I think I have found my matching soul, my no1 ! This perfume has a vintage vibe but a modern twist at the same time. It's not dated at all...I The emotions I feel when I wear this gem, OMG, perfection in a bottle. I can NOT imagine him being discontinued, so I really stocked up on this ( I have 6 bottles, old purple bottle and also the new ones). I could wear this forever! I get really HIGH when I sniff this one :) This is my drug :-P The projection and sillage are amazing and it holds really nice on my skin.I also got the Edt one, just to try it and see the difference: it's a bit fresher with more fruitiness in the opening, perfect for warmer days. It's a shame that we can't get the body lotion anymore. I love INSOLENCE so much I should write him a poem or a love letter, to express my feelings properly :) Maybe I will... @TrixieGrace really?! :D Thanks so much !!

Insolence EDP Review Like getting knocked in the head w a steel bat covered in nuclear Violets. My head is buzzing and the violets and iris dance around my body like cartoon butterflies and birds. Love. As I come to from my near knockout, I look around and see I've been transported to my early childhood. Two memories intertwine. One, is me standing in the bathroom with my mother watching her style her hair after exquisitely applying her makeup. Her perfume hangs in the air like an aura. She finishes her hair with a profuse mist of hairspray. The cloud swirls around and down, filling my nostrils. The second memory is specifically my first grade classroom. I've never smelled Apres L'Ondee from the bottle but as many reviewers mention Insolence as a homage to it, I can only guess that my first grade teacher must have worn it, heavily, for this scent memory to claim me so vividly. Thankfully it's all happiness. I love this fragrance. It is beautiful, intense and I'm surprised and happy with the memories. It's extremely long lasting. Great sillage. This will be a part of my permanent collection.

I used to wear and love this years ago, but kind of forgot about it because it didn't last on me. I remember re-applying Insolence like three times a day in summer heat (which is remarkable, since body warmth really amps this one up), because the scent would completely disappear. A few months ago I repurchased with high hopes. I fell in love all over again and noticed it stayed on me for a whole day without re-applying. I now own a small EDP (1oz) while years ago I bought several 1.7oz bottles in a row like it was water. I now know that was the EDT. Make sure you purchase the purple bottle, not the pink one. The EDP lasts extremely long and sillage is amazing. It's all soft, powdery violets but has a strong presence. Some might detect baby powder or laundry detergent. For that reason do not blind buy this. If you're a sucker for violet like me (it's my absolute favorite note in perfume, can never go wrong, I blind buy literally every perfume that lists violet and/or violet leaf), go and get this right now 'cause you're missing out on the best stuff ever!

A good example of packaging (hideous, in this case) not being representative of the product you actually get. The bottle screams ingineu, tween, immaturity and a desire to be different when all you're really being is cringy, just like everyone else like you. The fragrance itself isn't entirely different, but I don't believe it was meant to be a shockingly new thing. It's a violet scent with powdery undertones and fruity overtones. It's been done and if it was meant to be a new thing, it failed that. All this being said, as negative as it is, I actually love this fragrance. It feels like a loving nod back to Après l'Ondee. That is to say, a traditional Guerlain violet. As Après l'Ondee is so hard to get for a good price, especially vintage, this is an okay substitute. It can be heavy at first but it dries down really well, very similar to a trademark Sylvaine Delacourte 'white musk ball' I hated the EDT, because it actually suited the packaging. Reminded me of a teenager's deodorant. This is elegant and chic, for a grown up. Rather lovely.

I put this on today for the first time in ages!! I'm not sure why it took me so long to get to it again, because I love it. I guess that I am trying to preserve what's left in my "flying saucer" bottle before having to face whatever reformulation awaits me in the bee bottle! While it's so clearly violet, violet, violet, iris, violet, it still smells so much greater than the sum of it's parts. In classic Guerlain style, it's really seamless, and the notes combine in such a way that the result isn't like anything one would find in nature. It's Insolence, and if you are looking for a bold fragrance that smells like violets from a dream, then here's your girl. While I see no reason to layer it with anything else, I sprayed some Rochas Tocade on top once the dry down began with delightful results. A fellow Fragrantician and friend of mine encourages me to try the EDT as well. Though I am TRYING to hold off on anymore purchases at least until the end of the year, I just might have to do so! PS - Just ordered it. Just can't help myself!!

Lady Iris, of noble & regal descent, possessing ethereal beauty and an aloof & a bit cold character, somehow fell in love with the more down to earth, warm and sweet charactered Mr Violet. Their teenage daughter carries all these characters but to their surprise she’s loud. They call her attitude insolent, but she’s far from it. Yes she’s loud but she’s a good mannered Guerlain breed after all. She starts her day vibrant and fresh, with nuances of green, but is still very sweet; she puts a smile on the face of everyone who meets her, due to her loud morning greetings and bubbly attitude. By midday she’s more of an elegant lady, with charming powdery makeup on and a classy strong attitude. Towards the night she shows a little bit darker and deeper side (tonka and woods) yet in a delicate manner. She’s more quiet and soft now with an added allure. You’re enamored by how strong and intricate her character is, but most of all that she stuck with you all day long. EXQUISITE

WOW this juice packs a punch. A total blind buy, and I'm squealing with delight here. At first sniff my mind instantly went to back in time to JOOP! - that super fizzy bubble-gum men's scent (anyone remember?!) After spraying this on my skin and giving it a moment, I smell TONS of candied violets... And do I smell Alien?! A little Lolita Lempika?? This juice smells PURPLE. No doubt about it. I can see why some people say cough syrup. But to me it's atomic violets, sugary grapes, soft powder, gorgeous iris, warm vanilla and a bit of anise. Insolence is not tame or well behaved. Rather, quite loud, on the verge of cloying - beckoning you to follow her but not come too close. Sweet, warm, and sexy, with just enough class to wear pearl earrings and meet the parents. ;) I feel that you should try this before you buy it, I just happened to get lucky here. I do believe that if you love Alien, you may love Insolence. Excited about this one.

This was yet another blind buy and hopefully my last, because it is one of the best things I've smelled in quite some time and I won't allow myself the time, money nor nose I spent on other perfumes I think are just ok. This smells like a poem, a romance, love and powder. I love it so much. Well ok, it actually just smells like lovely violets and powder and lots of each and is a beautiful creation. So simple, so great. I think a lot of cremes have this smell, because it's very familiar to my nose. Maybe even products for babies, such as certain baby powders or cremes for wounds maybe? This is not fresh, not sweet, just powdery violets. Heavenly. I don't even want to smell anything else. I despise my scarve for having the scent of other perfumes on it and I have to wash all of my sweaters that I've sprayed on with other scents. I only want to smell this devine composition and nothing else for some time, maybe ever.

I never tried the pre-reformulated version, the batch code says this was made 6 years ago. I've seen alot of youtube reviews which made me purchase this as I LOVE violets. I was hoping for what most had claimed, a syrupy, dark and deep violet fragrance but was a little disappointed. This is the most airy, sugary parma violet fragrance! As a violet lover I'm quite pleased but can't help but be a little sad as I was expecting the heady fragrance most people rave about. I asked for a friend's opinion and they said it smells like detergent, very clean and fresh. The longevity is amazing, I can smell it on my clothes the next day! I do love this fragrance since I love Parma Violets, I don't get any red berries but there is a hint of sandalwood in the dry down. I'll definitely keep wearing it as a casual fragrance. However, my search for a deep, dark violet fragrance continues.

Endlessly seductive violets!!! The perfect description of this heavenly perfume! It's beautiful!!!! Such a gorgeous violets, powdery, gentle, yet rich and intoxicating. It's totally superb. Absolutely wonderful! Elegant, chic, feminine, deep and mysterious. It is my signature scent. I fell heavily in love with it the very first moment I smelled it. That was about 3 years ago, and I've been as in love with it ever since. It makes me feel so seductive! And chic! It lasts extremely well........I can smell it strongly all day, and even in bed at night. My husband, who doesn't love many perfumes much, adores it on me!!! And I get huge compliments!!! It's my beloved beloved perfume. And I adore the bottle, especially the fabulous colour!!! What a glorious purple!!! I love everything about Insolence - it's heavenly!!!!!

Someone at work wears Insolence EDT, and I thought it was ok, but nothing special, nor anything I would go for. I admit to recognising it as a Guerlain, but had no idea what it was when she first started wearing it. Fast forward a few months, I toyed with the idea of testing it, and read enough reviews to determine that the EDP was the preferred option by many far more knowledgeable reviewers than I. Being the stick in the mud Guerlain fan that I am, I knew I was moving out of my comfort zone, away from the classics like Shalimar, Jicky, Chamade, AL’O, Mitsy and LHB...but I decided to order it. It arrived today, I really love it. It’s violets all the way for me, with some vanilla. I am hooked! I might be speaking a little too soon, but first impressions for me are quite meaningful and I think this is a winner!

Oh! Ok, I didn't expect to enjoy Insolence as much as I did. It's an airy, powdery, sweet violet which is ridiculusly strong. Insolence is gourmand (candy-like) and probably doesn't take itself very seriously, which it doesn't need to. It's big and brash and fun to wear! I feel that careful dosage is the way to go with Insolence; the first time I wore it I only used one swipe of a tester and had my coworkers sniffing thoughtfully and leaning closer for a second whiff. I would probably have bought a full bottle even if it were more expensive. Edit: I find myself reaching for this a lot, guys. When applied sparingly, the performance is wonderful. Though gourmand, the scent profile works well in the heat of summer, for comfort during colder seasons and (applied with a light hand) at work.

For the original version, I think Insolence Eau de Parfum is the most extreme longevity and sillage perfume of Guerlain that I’ve ever used. The floral-powdery perfume is superb. I adore the beautiful packaging with dark purple. I think it is a sophisticated design of bottle of perfume. If you are a lover of violet flower, you will fall in love it, because it is well balanced among the sweetness of violet flower, some berries, and Tonka beans, together with top grade iris. The image of Insolence which I can interpret is a highly confident woman, to be sharp-witted and venerable. By the way, one of my colleagues have said to me that she can always feel the trustworthiness and gracefulness from me when I spray this perfume during the meeting. :)

This is so BEAUTIFULLLLLLL!!!!!! My god...so ladylike, a refined aroma! I never liked guerlain: to dated fragrances for me. But Insolence changed everything. When I smell it, I ́m transported to another dimension. This is pure violets enveloped by a sugary water, with a tinge of the Iris elegance. This requires a perfect make up, impecable coiffeur and nails, a silky blouse...just go! Now I can see all the savoir faire from Guerlain. They were able to make for me the first modern and outstanding violet fume, since the 50 ́s/60 ́s with an exquisite longevity (more than 8 hours) and a very good projection. Insolence is definetely a modern classic! a violet piece of art in the modern perfumery. Chapeau Guerlain...all my respect!

This is a homage to violets. It is a modern heavy spread of of a beautiful flower, much enjoyed through history by all ages and sexes. Not just grannies! Thank you Guerlain, for this one. I prefer the style of the layered circular bottle though. The taller medicinal looking new one is boring. I see the edt was aimed at younger women and the edp for a chic and eccentric woman. Well, I wear what I like, Guerlain. I've not tried the edt but wear the edp. I'm neither young nor old. I might fit in your edp category. I might not. But I'll wear it as I like it. It is a sweet, powdery, strong violet. Other notes are in there but luckily don't ruin the purity of the violet. All I'd like is for the price to be a little more affordable.

I can't believe that i've never tried it on! I now feel like a fool for not allowing myself de experience this beauty earlier! So, I never liked the original bottle, to me it looked like a teenagers perfume so I never cared enough to try it until the other day, I was at Guerlain and I've seen that they had new bottles (which I absolutely LOVE) so I decided to try Insolence EdP without realizing it was insolence. Result: It's been a couple of days and my coat still has this scent on. I absolutely love it. It doesn't smell like a teens perfume. It's just pretty and fun and sugary and now that I see the ingredients I get why I like it so much, violet, iris and orange flower are just delicious.

Insolence is something else, it smells unique and I feel like it smells different the first time you spray it on and five hours later. The Guerlinade is definitely there. The longer you have it on the sweeter it becomes. I feel that there is something that smells modern, almost metallic and 'serious' in this. It smells cool, nothing hyper, doesn't smell like a friendly person, but I like it. EDIT: This fragrance turns out to work in colder weather only! I do not get the same excitement wearing this in tropical weather. The mysterious captivating cool violet cloud sillage is just not there. Which is such a shame, because I totally adore/am absolutely in love with this fragrance!

Funny, but this scent is what I always imagined Chanel No 5 would smell like when someone described that scent to me. A decade and a half later I have learned that No 5 is a disappointment on my skin (I really wanted to love it), and due to the lady behind the counter I found this gem. I. Am. In. Love. It smells sophisticated, expensive and powdery but it is not shy in the least bit. it projects well beyond an arm's length, but it is not overpowering. I don't get a lot of violet from it, on my skin it evolves into a sweet, but not gourmand at all, white floral scent with a touch of vanilla and some vague anise/liquorice wayyyy in the back. All in all, winner.

Can't believe Guerlain reformulated this masterpiece and turned it into pure water ! I've heard rumors of a reformulation, but I couldn't believe it. The house only said they will redesign some bottles, which they did, the actual bottle is completely clear. But they didn't mention changes in composition ! No more violets, only something candy sweat, cheap smelling. I put 5 spritzes on and until I get out of the house it's gone ! I've had it back in 2012 when with 1 spritz I could have easily suffocate people around me. I payed a lot of money for a 100 ml bottle, and I immediately returned it. SO disappointed. My bottle was manufactured in 02/2016.

(Mar 2019 ) I Just received this and purchased the scent in the original bottle ( NOT THE BEE BOTTLE ) because I feared the latest bee bottle might be weaker . There is such a variety of opinions on this , but I find it absolutely full of feminine charm . It appears this has been well liked , which surprises me because it is powdery and rather old fashioned . Things that are considered old fashioned or “ grandma “ are often classic and beautiful in my opinion . I love Insolence ! It is long lasting , gentle, soft, and has a retro vibe that never goes out of style . This is one endearing fragrance and I am glad I purchased it.

I bought this before the bee bottles, years ago after it was out of favor and at a good discount. I was into collecting violet fragrances back then and I didn't like this one compared to the really old violet scents I grew up with which were sweeter. So I put it away when I couldn't even sell it at a garage sale. Took it out today and it's quite nice, the color of the juice is now brown but the scent is still the same minus some of the top notes. Powdery, hints of fresh almonds as well, not the bitter almond of essence but raw dried almonds you can chew on. Not too sweet. Current prices are shocking. It's a keeper.

I had the first version and I loved it from the start. Gorgeous iris-violet-combo on a rich tonka-woody base. A slight sweetness more floral to me while I don't get the berries at all. It is one of the scents that will always be in my collection. These year I bought a bee bottle as the reviews on it caught my attention. There is a little but recognisable difference: this one isn't that powdery anymore and has less tonka whereby more sandalwood (and I like it even more in this form), I still don't get berries... better so. It isn't so loud but still very obvious and longevity lays by 12 hours on me. Lovely potion!

Slightly deeper and creamier in it's dry down vs the new bee bottle. I get a little wood after about an hour, but the creamy is nice. I will say that the differences are so slight I'm not sure that hunting down that drunken little violet topped bottle is worth it. I have EdP's in both bottles. If you like sweet, powdery violets with great longevity, either one is gorgeous. I love it bc it's not one that I smell on others a lot. Not that I mind that, I don't, but one time when Coco Mademoiselle came out, I got in an elevator and I swear every person was wearing that scent, lol. I try and switch it up everyday now.

It's been ages since I've worn this and I remembered just how much I LOVE it. Was thinking of purchasing a back up of this and the EDT in the original bottles which are so cool, and I just can not believe the price they are going for on Ebay. So it looks like I'll need to purchase a new version and use what I have left when a real statement is called for. Most consider this a winter fragrance, but I am fine with wearing it in the springtime! Anamandy - I'm wondering if it's less an error on LT's side (TUBEROSE?? No way!!), and more likely an editing issue. If not, I'd say it's time for him to retire! 😉

This is wonderful elegant, insolent and daring perfume. A cocktail of Iris, violets and raspberries! And its nuances of dusty smells! 💜 This Guerlain beauty opens brightly, red berries combined with a bouquet of very sweet and powdery flowers. Definitely here the absolute of Iris and Violets are the protagonists, providing that clean, fresh, sweet and dusty touch of great opulence, elegance and sensuality. Merging into a creamy wood base. Insolence is an intense and very feminine fragrance. The substantivity in my skin is more than 10 hours with diffusion and Sillage from strong to moderate.

I love this. This is neon violet...humming electric and glowing all day and night. Sweet, powdery and potent. The red berries in here add a bit of sweetness to the top, iris lends a powdery, silky cool touch that blends so well with the violet, and sandalwood, tonka, and musk round out the base. This lasts and lasts, and projects enormously for the first few hours. If you like violets, powder and sweetness, this has all three in spades. I got this for the unique original bottle before Guerlain replaced it with a bee bottle, and was not expecting to love this as much as I do.

Insolence Eau de Parfum by Guerlain is pure powdery heaven with a beautiful feminine touch. The violet notes create a soft, elegant, and dreamy scent that feels like a delicate purple bouquet. It’s such a refined, powdery fragrance, and I absolutely love how it wraps you in a soft, graceful aura. It’s definitely one of my faves, and I can’t help but think of it as the perfect match to L’Instant Magic—they’re like powdery twins, each exuding that timeless, feminine elegance. Truly a stunning fragrance that makes you feel effortlessly chic!

This fragrance has been one of my signature scents for many, many years. I always wore the Insolence EDT until the Insolence EDP come out. Oh how much I love the EDP over the EDT. The EDT is wonderful, don't get me wrong, but the EDP is so much more rich in all of it's notes. I love wearing it. It last forever on me and my clothes, and it projects a very long way. One of my friends always told me, she knew it was me, as I walked down the long building to my station, because she could smell my perfume. Got to love that.

It’s my signature scent ٫its Mysterious and rebellious a heart conquer perfume it’s heads turner perfume it’s soft powdery but strong and very feminine and the silage and longevity great and I’m talking about the old bottle I don’t know if they reformulated the new one (new bottle ) because I still having two of this one in old bottle Iam so scared to buy the new one because I will be very very disappointed and sad if they did , I guess I should collect the old bottle ones every time I encounter one just in case .

This fragrance is a bold, modern interpretation of violets. I’m so glad I found a bottle with the original formulation. The violet is dominant, with iris being quite strong as well, and it’s well balanced with the woody base. It’s sassy, bold, confident. Despite having the violet, powdery thing going on, it’s never old fashioned and I can’t imagine Grandma wearing this. Also, when I smell this as a composite fragrance, it reminds me of those purple ju-jube Easter bunny candies. This is an absolute joy to wear!

It just arrived my edp for winter!!! I loveeee Insolence ...this perfume follows me the whole year: edt in spring/summer and edp fall/winter. I could say that after Coco edp, this Beauty is my 2o. beloved perfume...Insolence edp is very French, classy, "grow up", also very modern and extremely feminine fragrance. The Quality is outstanding...silage and longevity monsters. Only Guerlain can make the best powdery fragrances with this incomparable French elegance...amazing the work they did with this Beauty!

On me this is just powder and iris. Nothing trashy, or sexy or anything else everyone else is getting. I bought this based on the reviews on here but on me this is just a daytime scent you could even wear in church. Not edgy at all. I'll finish the bottle but Im not rebuying this. Longevity and sillage are great but I wasnt looking for a powdery innocent scent. Ije Love: No. This is nothing like Lolita Lempicka. On me they are worlds apart and could never be mistaken for each other. I own both right now.

In case some of you wanted to know this perfume as a fictional character, you can google "Yukari Yakumo". extremely image of a purple color in the sky, she is a woman with mystery and enigma. charming and playful despite how devious she can be. she wears extravagant dresses and, as equal as extravagant appearance, the brain of a genius. the perfume is a femme fatale in a bottle but there is an eccentric combination of Violet-Red Berries combo which make her "approachable". this perfume is indeed "purple"

An unapologetic, loud bouquet that opens with tarty grape soda, then it evolves in to candied violets soaked in strawberry & raspberry syrup the dry down smells powdery but not in a baby powder way. This is obtrusive and obnoxiously potent, but undoubtedly a gorgeous interpretation of violets in modern perfumery and you can't ignore it. It sort of reminds of of Poison by Dior and Alien by Mugler. It does smell amazing with my body chemistry but I think it would suit an older woman better than me.

Insolence is a gorgeous perfume. This is VIOLETS GALORE with a fantastic staying power and very long sillage. This is such an elegant perfume with a gorgeous bottle but I do not understand why Guerlain have chosen such a naughty name for it. It is a rather mysterious perfume not a daring one. This fragrance reminds me of Penhaligon’s Violetta only that Violetta is a lot more powdery and it doesn’t have such a great longevity. Insolence is one of the kind and I will always repurchase it. Love it!!

Listen I don’t like powdery or soapy/clean or floral But Tell your nose to grow Keep with it Try it for a few days at various developmental stages This is queenly, comforting, beautiful Just keep trying it and don’t have expectations I blind bought this and it was such a good thing to not expect anything and be set to appreciate it You might fall in love like I did Also blind bought the EDT and YES slightly different but the difference makes all the difference n worth getting it too

I keep re-reading the comments and I'm really disappointed in my bottle, the massive performance is no where to be found with the Bee Bottle (production 4-2018) :( I even sprayed it on my cloths but still I have to press my nose to be able to smell it. Very sad how Guerlain water down their oldies this way!! The same applies for all the bee bottles I have. The ones that are truly performant are the newer ones who haven't been massacred yet, LPRN, Mon Guerlain.. SAD..SAD..SAD..

Heavenly but be warned this beauty is so strong. I have the original formulation of this in the purple fountain shaped bottle and I couldn't appreciate it as much years ago as I can now. There is a certain hairspray shampoo like note in this for just only the first 3-5 seconds when you spray it but when you get past that this is one of the strongest, sweetest violet fragrances I have ever smelled and it smells so good. It begins clean and sweet and is bold and lasts forever.

This is a stunner and belongs to my top five most loved fragrances. I am not even a fan of flowery fragrances (well, at least so I thought for the longest time, but more and more I get into frags, more and more I learn that I am actually very fond of violets and jasmine. So I have to rethink my whole "I am not a flowery woman" view). Anyway - this is awesome. I think the berry aspect is what makes this floral frag so great. This lady is perfection through and through.

Wearing Insolence again today. It smells like a blend of C. Howards Violet Candies (they also make a violet gum) and Coty Airspun Face Powder (the one that smells like L'Origan). I LOVE IT. Since I have fallen down the rabbit hole of fragrance obsession, I am finding that I really love scents that have a prominent violet note. And Insolence is a sweet, powdery ultra-violet dream come true. You must love powder and you must love violet in order to pull this one off!

If color purple had a smell, it would be Insolence. Melancholic, calm, sophisticated, delicate. I never felt that Insolence has this monstrous projection or longevity as many people make it out to be... but it's certainly noticeable. I do own this vintage version of the Fragrance, but I sincerely prefer modern EDT version the most, because to me it has a tiny bit of sweetness that EDPs lack. Insolence is definitely in my top 5 Guerlains.

One of the first pricey perfumes I bought for myself! Sooo lovely. All I wanted was a perfume that smells like Parma Violets sweets and this hits the mark in a sophisticated and elegant way. Sweet violet deliciousness, with INSANE projection and sillage. Legit only need 1-2 sprays of this and it will last all day. I like this bottle much more than the recent one but I can't compare the scents as I don't have the newer one.

I sadly disliked the edt with a passion and decided to try this. Needs to be applied with a very light touch as it can be cloying. In saying this, it is much lovelier. The edt reminded me of feminine deodorant, because of the strawberry, but this one is violets all the way through and in such a light and beautiful way. wore this side by side with the L'Heure Bleue which I had on and was in violet heaven

This is gorgeous. It smells very violety and I think very clean! It does have an almost detergent sharp cleanliness to it. Luckily though it has just enough powderyness to keep it from going down that road. So it smells very fresh and pleasent. Projects well the first 3-4 hours and has a solid longevity of 10hours plus. This one I think not everybody will like so try it before making any comittments

The scent is beautiful, it's sexy and playful, lightly seductive but classy and put together. The original bottle is beautiful, and so is the original formulation. The newer testers don't smell as good or last as long. The unique and original bottles have incredible performance and the scent develops really nicely. I thought it'd make a great gift. Scent: 9.5/10 Longevity: 9.5/10 Sillage: 9/10
