La Cologne Du Parfumeur

This is a very refreshing scent and I agree with some that it is light and clean. Thierry Wasser is Swiss-French and this does reflect his heritage. I find it to be very sophisticated. I am drawn to this fragrance with the same sort of zeal that draws me to being puritanical. It is obvious that this fragrance has been sourced with some of the best materials and I love it. It opens with a nice burst of Orange flower and citrus which is mainly Lemon. Then there is a very green organic facet with Resinous Herbs coming through. Also I detect some Musk which is not listed. It is not sharp or sweet to me but instead it has that botanical richness that reminds me of being in the Alps near Spiez in the Summer when my father, who is Swiss-German, first took me as a child to meet our family in Switzerland. Both are beautiful and magnificent. This juice also has a Mediterranean vibe to me as well. Nice, Monaco and Menton come to mind foremost. This is a wonderful fragrance and I highly recommend it to those who are looking for a more modern botanical vibe. 10/10

A most excellent cologne. I love this riff on the basic cologne structure. It has more of a floral thing than most colognes and I love how that fits into the basic, "Citrus - florals - herbs and wood" (Turin and Sanchez) definition of cologne. This is one of my fave get up in the morning, or hitting the sack in the evening fragrances. It starts with a lemony/citrus opening. The floral thing starts happening almost immediately and then, as it dries down, the bitter oak moss-like aspect shows up to balance the sweet citrus and floral parts of the fragrance. This stuff is really well made. Nobody does cologne like Guerlain; they definitely do it right. 5 stars, highly recommended!

Instant love. A fresh, non-citrus predominant, clean cologne. I love me some freshies, this is perfect when you need to divert from the typical 4711 style of cologne. Eau du Parfumeur is a clean, fresh crisp white musk based frag. But it has also some ambery, skin-like qualities that makes is so similar to the drydown of Drakkar and Eau de Rochas, the latter being my go-to for cosiness in a fresh frag. I am totally sold! It is expensive for such a "simple" no frills frag, sure it could last more. (however i got my 100ml for a super bargain at 39 euros, unbelievable). Besides poor longevity, the rest is top notch. Clean and class in a bottle. Do over spray!

I love this. I wish it lasted longer. Citruses just vanish on me in most cases. I love the opening; it's wonderful citrus, a really nice blend that doesn't scream of anyone particular citrus, and more evocative of citrus zest than juice. It also has a wonderful pungence that takes over as time goes on and the citrus dissipates. It reminds me a lot of vetiver, even though that's not a listed note. This is a uncomplicated light scent for days when I need a clear mind.

Gorgeous juice, and bottle too! Definitely my wheel house. I've only sprayed my decant once, but it was an instant love for me. Probably full bottle worthy if I can get a good deal. As with most of these colognes, seems like it will be impossible to over spray. Will do some full wearings and report back. After trying Imperiale and du Coq, this one is definitely my favorite so far. Not just the typical 4711, the musk gives it a unique edge in my cologne collection.

Love this refreshing fragrance. It is what I think everyone wishes their shower gel, clean laundry and bed linens would smell like. On me I get lavender, a bit of rosemary and a dominant floral note that I assume is the african orange flower. I only detected a bit of citrus at the opening. Leans feminine in my opinion with its slightly powdery floral herbal dry down. If only it wasn't a cologne....sigh. Too lovely to passby over such a small matter as longevity.

I fell in love with this perfume so I just bought without thinking for a second - even though winter was not the correct season for this fragrance. It's quite light but also noticeable.. Lavender and orange flower cut the sharpness of citruses. One of the most elegant fragrances I ever tried. Comparing to other cliche old fashion citrus colognes this one is so special and has such a kind, soft and rich texture.

You just don't wanna stop spraying this stuff. I sampled the entire Guerlain cologne line yesterday, and this one was by far my favorite. Reminds me a bit of Creed's Original Vetiver, combined with Acqua Di Parma Essenza. A citrus-aromatic with a bit more backbone, but still delicate and incredibly sophisticated. 10 sprays of this would not be overkill. Have to get a bottle for the springtime.

Fresh, soft, citrus and white floral. Not sharp. Transparent and refreshing. Very classic perfumery. Slightly leans feminine from the florals. Very nice summer day time wear. Does not substitute for do it all scents like Dior Eau Sauvage EDT. Scent: 8 / Sillage: 7 / Longevity: 6

Citrus, neroli, white musk, rare semi-oil EDC. La Cologne Du Parfumeur fresh and simple structure. Comfortable, everyday, it has many advantages. Thierry wasser Reinterpretation of the classic closer to the modern sense of smell.

This is the most atypical of the Guerlain Eaux collection in that it doesn't open with a big blast of citrus, but rather with a big burst of African orange blossom (which is lightly indolic). I worried at first this eau de cologne might be too feminine for me, but as it settled down, it assumed what was for me a much more gender-neutral accord that reminded me happily of clean cotton linens. (There's musk in the base not noted above in the "Fragrance Base.") Many fragrances have their own ways of conveying freshness and cleanliness, and this is yet another way. This is satisfying, and nice, but for really hot weather I would reach more readily instead for the other Guerlain Eaux (particularly Eau de Guerlain) with their much more quenching citrus openings. This is still light and clean, but it is more arid.

African Neroli that is tempered with an herbal lavender and rosemary. I love this combination because it keeps the Neroli from becoming to sweet. There is actually a lot going on in this cologne. I smell the citrus at first when I apply but it dries down quickly to an herbal floral and a dry musk. That seems too simplistic of a description though and others will describe it better. I am using this as my cologne to wear at home in the evenings because I enjoy the lavender. This is not really a casual wear though. It needs to be worn with an expensive button down cotton shirt. It is perfectly unisex. I prefer wearing it in spring and summer. I need about three or four sprays to really be able to smell it for any length of time. I was looking forward to adding this to my Guerlain collection. Its a fairly mild mannered summer scent, and almost unisex. On me, it smells like clean laundry with fabric softener, or maybe French laundry, who knows. There is s roundness, softness to it which is unlike a typical eau de cologne. An expensive, sophisticated cologne. It does not change much after it first settles down and I am left with kind of powdery lavender with an edge. I don’t get much citrus out of this, more white flower, but mainly its lavender powder with a hint of spicyness which gives it its unisex flavour. Sheets in an expensive French hotel could smell like this. This could be good on a very hot day in the Mediterranean, hope I get to test that out!

All I can smell off of my wrist is African orange blossom and a dap of musk. It's a very close to skin fragrance and I cannot stop smelling it. It has something addictive in it which I enjoy it very much. Not sure in what occasion you can wear it but maybe just for yourself 😉. And it is very unisex to me. It has a deep floral smell with some dark earthiness like vetiver hints. It either has some vetiver in it which is not listed or my nose is tricking me. A good addition for my collection.

I walked into the Guerlain boutique in my area seeking Cologne du 68. Unfortunately they were out of stock, so instead I was introduced to Guerlain's La Cologne Du Parfumeur. Citrusy fragrances, especially colognes, are often difficult for me to wear, as my chemistry isn't too kind when it comes to crisp and summery scents. Much to my surprise, La Cologne Du Parfumeur sits unobtrusively on my skin, like a breath of fresh air. The citrus notes in this composition are smooth rather than sharp and acidic. They are also what I'd refer to as being, watered down. The mint accord works beautifully alongside the bright, sparkling citruses, with the orange blossom adding some floral dimension in both the top and heart. Summer in Australia can sometimes be unbearable, especially if you live far from the beach like I do. A pick-me-up like La Cologne Du Parfumeur is all you need to lift your spirits on sweltering Summer days. It also keeps you feeling refreshed and energized. La Cologne Du Parfumeur is not what I'd call a particularly complex fragrance, but it isn't simple either. Notes like, orange blossom, rosemary and mint, (despite their subtlety), steer the composition away from what could become a predictable citrus blend. As a cologne, I really did not expect it to last as long as it did. I got at least five hours wear out of La Cologne Du Parfumeur, which is quite extraordinary. But on the other hand, the sillage is rather weak. All in all, an impressive citrus cologne for the warmer months.

I can not believe through out all the decades of my collecting fragrances, I have never owned a Guerlain scent. At a Perfume Party, I received La Cologne du Parfumer (LCdP)decanted. The host had purchased the largest bottle from a recent trip to Paris. Since she did not have spare containers, LCdP was decanted into a travel paper cup (6oz). On the way home, the scent began to penetrate the paper cup. The citrus smells were lovely and enticing. Once I arrived home, I was able to place the juice in a proper glass bottle. I did not want to through away the paper cup since the scent kept being released into the air. The scent lasted for weeks. The extra juice which did not fit into the 3 oz bottle, I mixed with a non fragrant shower gel to make my own LCdP body wash. I have several citrus aromatics in my collection, each being so different, but having a similar DNA belonging to the citrus aromatic family. A family I normally visit on the weekends. LCdP is a light scent and wears close to the skin. It is best worn in warm weather so one can enjoy the orange flower, rosemary and lavender notes. The mint gives it a new twist to citrus aromatics in my collection. This has become my to go to scent for my weekend days. I am glad I have this in my collection and will continue to be replaced when emptied. I invite all to try this amazing fragrance. Kudos to Theirry Wasser and the House of Guerlain for the creation of LCdP.

This came as a surprise to me. Neimans had the last bottle without a tester, and being that it was a Guerlain, I said, "why not?" and bought it blind. It has the same typical EdC composition of bergamot, citrus, aromatics and florals, but there were some notable transitions. It begins with the usual bergamot, citrus, and aromatic freshness, not too serious or old fuddy-duddy smelling, but an uplifting out-of-the-shower feel. Then it transitions into a fresh and woody feel, and dare I say maybe resinous? It's only momentary, and the rush of floral comes in, and suddenly the composition goes sweeter. I detect a muskiness, not like the overzealous touches like older classic EdCs, but more transparent and sensual. Here EdCs can get a bit irritating, either it's too musky or too herbaceous, but Wasser gives it the Guerlain touch. He seems to wash in, like watercolor, a faint dash of that Guerlain smell, that musky vanilla. Don't go thinking this is an oriental because it is just a faint base that's oh so thinly wafted or blown in, like vermouth to a martini. A typical EdC in longevity, not lasting more than 2 hours noticeably, 3 hours with your nose buried to the scent. Wasser seems to enjoy subtle twists into a classic to make it different. It shows he appreciates a classic form with subtle touches of uniqueness nodding it over to modernity. I give credence to him on this one.
