La Petite Robe Noire Eau de Parfum Absolue

I love Black Perfecto and I am only ok with Absolue. That is because I find it too aggressive. Even if I only spray once in my arm, i keep smelling it everywhere for hours and hours and that can get overwhelming even if I overall like the notes, the last 2-3 times I have wanted to scrub it off which is why I'm down to one spray and still feel it too much. I need to revisit it in winter* (spring in Spain might be too hot for this perfume). And I love smokey, spicey leathery perfumes, so it is not a "class" problem but this individual perfume. I am not sure it is one note that bugs me, and I find it extremely different to Black Perfecto which is one of my favorite LPRN (I own many different ones). I bought it online because I couldn't find it in stores and I regret the blind buy. *Edit in late September: I put Absolue out in my fall and winter perfume selection and gave it another try and it turns out that I love it! it is strong, but not aggressive and certainly not overwhelming. Smokey, leathery and quite different from Black perfecto which for me is inciense-rose while this one has more spice and leather. I am probably using it about 3-4 days a week now. Suits well leather or black dressing. Either the 5 month rest or the weather change made this but I would encourage others to revisit this perfume also if your first impression was not good!

The ONLY thing stopping this from becoming my new favourite Guerlain scent is that it performs like a celebrity fragrance does - and by that I mean it's absolutely disappeared within an hour. Not even a skin scent, which is REALLY strange for Guerlain. It is unabashedly sweet cherry, but the rest of the ingredients give it a very rich character. Sometimes smokey, sometimess mixing with clean tea, but always supporting the cherry note. Cherry is my absolute favourite scent, and I'm still yet to find one where the cherry is the star from start to finish. After this, and how Guerlain absolutely ruined the Intense flanker (personal opinion) I'm losing a lot of faith in their plans for future releases :/

Oh, this is such a sweet, syrupy cherry beauty! I adore everything about it the bottle, the packaging, total vibe. I even have the green one, and I used to have the blue one too. I used to call them my Powerpuff Girls trio because they just have that magical, girl power energy ... The La Petite Robe Noire flankers hold such a special place for me. The notes of cherry, almond, smoke, bergamot, tea, iris, tonka, and leather blend together to create something so uniquely delicious and comforting. This is dark, sweet, flowery cherry syrup with a hint of smoke. When I wear it, I feel alert, like my senses have been sharpened and my mood has been lifted a couple of notches. It doesn’t perform the best but I get glorious wee whiffs of it over a few hours. It maybe lasts around 4-5 hours on me. I’ve got back-up bottles because I can’t bear the thought of a future where I don’t have this available to me. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT.

I got this as a sample and now upgraded to a full bottle. I think this is such a seductive sultry fragrance. Perfect for date night or a night out. The cherry and smoke for me are the most prominent notes. But it's not a bitter cherry. It's like a dark almost liquorice cherry. The smoke note adds such a depth without giving that burnt feeling. If you know what a black forest gateux smells like. This is exactly that on a bottle

This smells like cherry leather. I like cherry. I feel OK about leather. I'm not quite sure about this perfume though, because I also get a gasoline note... not almond, not tea, but this sharp note I can't classify as anything other than gasoline. I'll have to wear this during cooler weather and see what happens, I think. Also, there definitely is an earthy note here - maybe it's the patchouli?

Opens with smoky cherry and quite immediately you start to smell the leather and rose underneath. Patchouli makes itself known after a while, though it's quite faint. Lasts a ridiculously long time, one of the rare situations where I actually click "eternal". Doesn't project strongly, work safe, though definitely better for evening or bad weather.

I tried it again but on skin, and it starts heavily with the leather on me. Something about is medicinal and I do smell tires BUT I keep sniffing my arm. It is addictive to me and unique .. after a while it becomes a bit sweeter and the leather is still there but becomes milder on me. I still like this 😅🫣 Beautiful drydown Not a safe blind buy ❤️

At first I wasn't convinced but after giving it a couple of minutes... Holy shit. This is such a mysterious, but sweet cherry scent, perfect for fall. I love it so much, it kind of reminds me of TF after 2 hours? Unfortunately it doesn't last extremely long, but this has got to be one of the most underrated cherry fragrances for me.

Lots of cherry and some rose with a hint of leather. It's good not great. I have to overspray to smell anything but cherry. I miss the anise/licorice notes. I prefer Black Perfecto. Edit: it's grown on me, now I love it. Black Perfecto still has my heart but this is yummy and sexy. Pairs incredibly well with Lolita Lempicka.

I really love this fragrance the cherry the rose and the smoke oh my God and the hint of leathers just add to this fragrance another level of sophistication, it’s beautifully elevated cherry rose fragrance that I didn’t expect that I’m gonna like it so much

I just love it. The opening is sexy with leather/smoke addition, going into a jammy cherry/rose combo. 100% of the original DNA with a modern twist. I think that might be the BEST flanker of the whole range. Highly recommend to try it for yourself.

This fragrance is dark, sweet, and mysterious. It has nothing to do with Black Perfecto—this is on another level, far superior, even better than the original. In my opinion, it’s the best flanker in the line. Performance is outstanding.

The og and this one are the best out of all of the flankers for me. Og is a day ware and edp absolue is for evening ware or colder seasons. It’s so cherry and smokey leathery sophisticated and sexy. Reminds me TF cherry smoke.

A nice and strong version of La petite robe noire, cherries, smokey sweetness, soft leather and tonka. In this section of gourmand fruits the best you can get in designer counter. Bold and gourmand fruitiness.

Gorgeous combo of cherry, leather and smoke. Not too medicinal, not too sweet. I love this. Dark but ethereal scent.

The drydown reminds me of Guerlain LUI. Has anyone noticed that as well? I love it!

This was a pleasant surprise to me as my skin projects the LPRN series into unappealingly sweet, girlish, ho-hum gourmet pudding. Not this one. LPRN Absolue opens with a blast of smokey cherries. Pungent. Aggressive. Adult. Uncompromising. Like Grace Jones, hooded, dressed in leather, glaring at the camera while singing La Vie en Rose in a way unimaginable by Piaf. Appropriately enough, some time later the cherry steps back to allow rose and leather to elbow their way in. This is followed by a brief interlude, like a mistimed advert at the high point in a film noir, where everything stops for Victoria sponge. Only the touches of leather and iris (and I would have preferred much more of them) save this phase of Absolue from outright comedic patisserie on my skin. Luckily this interlude is short and a deep, delicious drydown begins. Cherries and Grace Jones have given way to Kylie Minogue, also hooded, flashing her pert, peachy behind in gold shorts. It's now sweet, flirtatious and ever so slightly wicked. I find it's best kept off clothes as on fabric it doesn't smell the way it blooms on skin. NB. It lasts through several washes, too. It's genius. It's also quite a naughty perfume. I personally feel too old to dare wear it in public. But if I was younger I would flaunt it while clad in cherry-red lipstick and skin-tight leather. After a few drinks I still might.

Im not a fan 9f sweet fragrances but only the house of gurlain can convince me to own a sweet fragrance from them. If you love sweetness with a bit of leather and smokiness then this one's for you.

The tea, smoke and cherry combo is so cool ! Mysteriously chic 💕 I smell leather mostly in the opening and then it fades and you’re left with the beautiful scent

I think that it is not smell like Black Perfecto which is sharper and more floral. This one smells like EDP I think and has a very beautiful botlle

This perfume smells incredible at first spray and I absolutely love the cherry, almond, rose and smoky notes. I agree that this is probably the best flanker of la Petite Robe Noire. However, just like in the original, I really don't enjoy the dry-down, which is so powdery that it becomes unpleasant (I eventually had to wash it off since I couldn't tolerate the smell of the base notes).

Unfortunately this perfume did not work for me... This perfume was beautiful on paper, not dark enough but beautiful, but once I tried it on my skin it became a strong medicinal cherry note I could not stand. Even after the dry down I did not find the perfume suited for me. My skin "ate" the beauty of this perfume leaving behind a simple cherry, almond with hints of a dark rose scent behind... I have to say, from other cherry perfumes I have tried on paper, this was the prettiest of them all so I am sure that on the right skin, this perfume will perfom beautifully. Longevity was 6/10 Sillage for me 5/10

The cherry in this one is syrupy and artificial, but I love the smokiness and how almondy it feels. Unfortunately the patchouli is very strong from the start and it leaves most other notes to the background. To me it smells like potent patchouli with a mix of unidentifiable sweet and powdery notes after it has dried. Considering I had to scrub it 4 times to get it off, I think the performance should be very good.

I enjoyed the cherry note in the beginning, but soon after, this perfume turns into the scent of a new pair of shoes... and that's not what I'd like to smell like. :(

Smells like Cherry Oud, which i thought smelled too much like literal cherry cough syrup.

This is strictly based on my inability to withstand perfumy scents. I wanted to love this and blind bought it. Its like headache in a bottle. If you like strong perfumes that can raise the dead this is the scent for you. I can't tell what notes are in this it's just smell noise when it's this strong. It's another that was recommended because I like Lolita Lempicka- It's nothing like LL while it is feminine it's not soft. It's pick me energy for a face lift addicted stripper turned wife of a politician. But like I said It's me not you - I just don't have what it takes to have my nose around this. I legit feel like it could make my brain turn off smelling anything subtle or delicate.

I almost gave this one away,until I sprayed a good amount on my clothing,it's a juicy red cherry on clothing jammy rose on clothing,yet on my skin love the opening & first hour& then the leather and incense is pretty strong on me..the rest of the wear,so when I wear this,I wear it on my clothes,instead of skin,when I go to do my laundry, even after days sitting in the laundry basket,it smells like a juicy cherry jammy rose so beautiful,black perfecto and this one are my favorites from this line. This is a dark juicy rose jammy cherry on clothes,but on skin it's a strong leather incense,so I prefer on fabric vs skin. I like leather in fragrance especially with cherry ,but in this situation the perfume smells beautiful only on clothing vs skin,because on my skin I get no cherry & on clothing it's loud cherry jammy for days. Try it on clothing fabric- your welcome.

I had high expectations for this fragrance. I was hoping for something similar to Cherry Smoke — a dark, smoky cherry, something reminiscent of sherry liqueur... But no. As in so many creations of recent years, the cherry is present only in the opening phase of the evolution. So if, like me, you’re looking for a true cherry fragrance, don’t be fooled by the beautiful opening of cherry and leather. After about half an hour, unfortunately, everything falls back into line and what remains is a leathery rose, not even particularly deep. No dark cherry, and in my opinion there isn’t even any real sweet or fruity nuance left. Certainly elegant, but not as impactful as one might expect. Longevity and sillage are not outstanding. It remains a pleasant but intimate fragrance. Well...

This isn’t a "daytime spritz while running errands" kind of scent. It’s more like: I’ve got plans I won’t explain, and you can come along if you behave. It opens with dark cherry and almond, but not in a dessert kind of way. This is cherry with secrets, almond with an edge, bergamot like a smirk before a sharp remark. As the hours pass, this perfume shows you what it’s really made of. The rose here isn’t delicate — it’s bold, wrapped in smoke and with a faint trace of iris it calms down. Then the base arrives: patchouli, tonka bean, and leather — rich, warm, and just a little dangerous. It’s not loud, but it lingers in a way that makes people wonder about you long after you’ve walked away. Last for 5 to 6 hours on me ( depending on the weather)

I absolutely love this fragrance since I first smelled it. It's sweet, syrupy, a bit powdery and dark. When you spray it, you immediately get the cherry and almond, sweet and fruity. Soon after, the other notes start to appear. Although it is very sweet and syrupy, the rose and iris give it this bit of powdery sophistication, and the patchouli and leather deepen it to something a bit darker and more sensual. It is strong, and lasts very well. On skin it lasts a good 7 hours, while on fabric it lasts days! Definitely for colder weather, and more for special occasion/evening in my opinion, although I also sometimes wear it during the day because the sweet warmth also has something comforting to me.

I’ve been using LPRN OG as my signature scent for 12 years since it’s released, so I was excited to try this one. It's an exotic and nostalgic smell. There is similar scent kind of the incense sticks at my grandfather's Buddhist altar. ( 04/05/24 ) Edit/Update : ( 04/10/24 ) I tried twice for the test, and it grown on me beautifully. Very sophisticated. Definitely have the original DNA, and more mature and suitable for night, specially with a black leather jacket. I took the 100ml bottle lol I love LPRN Eau de parfum and this Eau de parfum absolue. I definitely HATE Eau de Toilette and Eau de parfum Intense.

Cherry overload. Dark, artificial and very sweet. It still manages to be flirty and feminine but I don't think it is a safe blind buy. I disagree with comparisons to Cherry Oud. This is not an Oud based scent and the smoky note is really subtle not Oud like to me. It is like Black Perfecto with turbo cherry. It can be too much for summer time, I see it better suited for fall and winter.

This is what I wanted the original edp to be all those years ago. For a split second I thought they’d cracked it with Perfecto (they hadn’t). This however is just beautiful with the right balance of depth and sweet, smoky cherry. Bought a fb yesterday after smelling it fleetingly in an airport and it staying in my mind. An ‘absolue gem!

An updated version of the original Black Perfecto. Very nice as well, with slight differences, but if you own one you don’t need the other. If you miss Black Perfecto however, this is the nicest in the line and the one I would get if I didn’t have and really enjoy the black gorgeous bottle of Perfecto.

The list of notes above is entirely accurate. Cherry, almond, rose, smoke, leather and iris. It is very similar to the Black Perfetto series and, in that sense, entirely redundant. But for those who love this type of aggressive cherry fragrance, it’s a solid option, as it is long lasting and powerful.

Interesting.. A bit too masculine for my taste, I prefer donna born in Roma intense, but this is elegant and makes me feel like I am in control, but not particularly in a feminine way.. But i love it it is good. It smells like a boozy spicy cherry and almond drink.. .. Also like cola drink at first.

I think it smells very close to the original EDP. The only difference is where the EDP has this liquorice sweet and minty-ness, it is swapped with a smooth smoky note. Although it is an absolue, I think it performs the same like the EDP. Gorgeous! Best in cooler weather.

This is seriously smoky and I love it I own the EDT which is a tea rose, with just subtle sweetness, I had EDP many years ago and did enjoy it's fruitiness however compared to Absolu, for me, Absolu wins. More unique, more character.

This is really good, but only if you want to smell like cherry (food kind of, jam). And i dont. But it is good. Not so long lasting. Moderate. Kind of medium. Dense but not overly too heavy.

It reminds me a lot of hypnotic poison esp by Dior but a bit more of a cherry note. It’s almondy, powdery and cherry adjacent. Personally though I feel like this is kind of an old lady scent

Dark vibes.. mainly cherry, smoke and leather. It was lovely on paper but unfortunately, on my skin it is too leathery. I am getting new leather shoes vibes.

It's a shame!!! Never it was found this version. I don't know why Guerlain do not launch word wide properly, is annoying that.
