La Petite Robe Noire Ma Première Robe 2016

So I tried this in the shop, and then got the OG LPRN. This is not the same, the note composition is different. Although the name means my first dress making you think you are getting the first in this line this is either a flanker or a reformulation. I get STRONG cherry cough syrup vibes, that take a while to calm down, then the rest of the notes shine but the powderiness is missing as there isn't any iris. The strong couch syrup vibe it not helped by liquorice. It's a hard pass for me, it's strong but no. Just letting people know, although it is says "ma premiere robe" it's not the OG.

Another Bakewell Tart perfume. Seems to be the zeitgeist. I do not like it much I'm afraid, but then I don't like the notes and am only trying it because I got a free sample, otherwise would never have bothered. I find the amount of flankers the original now has very ironic considering in fashion terms the little black dress is a synonym for simplicity and timelessness. Not the ephemeral nature of most scent flankers.. And oh so many flankers and so confusing. No idea if I have this 2016 version or the 2015. Was/is there a genuine difference? The notes on this site from either fume do not correspond to the notes listed on the scent card, which are black cherry, black rose, patchouli and smoked tea. I've picked this one to put the review on because it lists patchouli whereas the other one doesn't. This smells of almonds, cherries and licorice. It is a very acquired taste. It's very goth. It isn't a crowd pleaser by any means. The cherry is sour and frowns at you, the almonds aren't sweet either. Licorice scowls like a teenager not allowed to go to Comic Con in too revealing manga cosplay. It's almost beginning to grow on me in it's belligerence. The card says "A creation embroidered with the most beautiful black notes." Which begs the question why didn't Guerlain use them for it's Black Perfecto version, a more fitting concept surely?
