La Petite Robe Noire Nectar

Mmh, cherries! They're not in the notes list, but to my nose, this is a cherry scent. Just like the original La Petite Robe Noire EDP. These two have a lot in common and they're equally beautiful, but not too close to tell them apart. LPRN Nectar has a fuzzy, velvety, warming texture. I have never tried the LPRN Velours flanker, but I think that name would also be quite fitting for this fragrance. It's dense and cozy and not as juicy and syrupy as I expected from something with the word 'Nectar' in its name. The honey note is detectable, but rather understated on my skin. Instead I get lots and lots of tonka, Guerlain's famous vanilla, plush red roses intertwined with cherries, and a dash of bergamot for some lift and sparkle. I'm not sure what the difference between a macaron note and a regular almond note is supposed to be, but when you smell this, it really makes sense that this has a macaron note. There's something delicate and powdery, but also gourmand about it. A big difference to the original is that this doesn't have any licorice at all, not even a hint. I think if you already own several fragrances of the LPRN line, you might not need this. But if not, it's a great choice. Depending on how much you like licorice, it might be even better than the original. The performance is ideal. Strong but not overwhelming. Everytime I sampled this on my skin in the evening there was some of it left in the morning. Today I'm writing my review out of the notes I made while sampling and sprayed this on a card again. I have a badly stuffed nose right now and the card is about 50 cm away from me, but I can smell it around me all the time, not just in wafts.

I received mine a few weeks ago and have been wearing, at least twice a week, to familiarize myself with it. It's lovely. Truly, truly lovely. Soft, yes, but it also somehow has that fruity vibe LPRN has. That vibe isn't strong, just there and adds to the continuity of the fragrance. It's sweet, I can pick out the honey but not the macaron. The bergamot is giving it that fruity buzz, I think, but that really brings out that rose. The patch is giving it just enough spice to be interesting and the tonka is so smooth. So smooth. It seems to wrap the whole composition in a warm hug. I had to order from France to get, but hopeful it will hit the grey market next year, similar to how So Frenchy did this year, and I will pick up another bottle. I'm not sure what the reviewer below meant about why this wasn't being sold in the US, but generalizations are gauche. I would never say the same thing about, say, France. I'm assuming there are many individuals who like many different fragrances in any given country. If the notes appeal to you, you can't find a decant and you love this line, I'd say this was a safe blind buy. But you must love the La Petite Robe Noire line. I love this one, Velours and Hippe Chick. All of the softer versions of this line, so take that into consideration if you are using my review to consider buying.

I'm in the United States. I reached out to Guerlain, who told me that this fragrance is temporarily unavailable on their US website, and they aren't sure when Nectar will launch here. BUT.... They told me to reach out to the Guerlain boutique in Las Vegas at the Bellagio, as they may have samples or bottles that they can ship out. I got this for Christmas, the gifter used ShopFranceInc to get it to the US if that helps anyone!! So the original LPRN was my signature scent for years (still love it but don't wear it as often). This smells very similar, but without the cherry and licorice. It's not as sweet and heavy, and reminds me more of a spring or summer evening fragrance. I smell the almond and tonka bean, and the bergamot was very strong for about an hour. It becomes a skin scent on me, but it's so delicate and soft and intimate....kind of sexy!

I couldn’t imagine how fantastic it is!! A powdery honey macaroon, very luxurious and super feminine. Sweeter in an elegant manner, LPRN dna is well mixed at first, then dissipates letting the warm cozy alluring notes, the rose which supposed to be strong is lighter, just to give a velvety effect, in all is a super creation, great of class and french know-how. Long lasting and noticeable!. I realized that the smoked black tea so present in all LPRN editions is not here, so gives a more girly edge.

Roses and almonds on the initial blast, warming and mellowing into a fruity note that I swear has an edge like the salivating tang of a sun warmed fully ripe strawberry. It’s in there (on my skin, anyway). I suppose that’s the bergamot but it’s so strawberry-ish to me. I was lucky enough to find a 50ml bottle of this on eBay and I’m so annoyed that I like it because it’s so difficult to find.

It has the La Petite Robe Noire DNA but with a stronger bergamot in the opening, some powdery roses, smokiness, almonds, no play-doh/licorice in the background like in the original, and I don't get any patchouli nor honey. I prefer this flanker than the original LPRN. I do get some hints of cherries and vanilla....so maybe it's a cherry/vanilla macaron?

Received mine from France. Beautifully crafted but not what I expected. Well, it is very almondy, with almost a cherry vibe (to my nose) in the opening. Flowers and light citrus balance this Fragrance pretty well. Patchouli is very discrete. It is a bit sweeter than the original LPRN, though not overly sweet or cloying; still falls under the gourmand category. The perfume settles down very close to the original LPRN. Personally, I don't like the almond /cherry feel. I would have expected a real macaroon like in La Tentation de Nina (Nina Ricci). But if you love the almond note, you will not be disappointed! Selling this bottle. (sold!)

Excited to smell the addition of macaroons? So a bit sweeter and a stronger focus on almond, perhaps? I’m not excited to see citrus so high up on list of accords, but just because frangrantica lists it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a predominant aspect of the fragrance. My preference ranges from no citrus to citrus that evaporates with the opening. The notes listed are delicious. I’m curious about the cherry being absent. Either way, I really enjoy the original and am excited to smell this new version.

My parcel from France arrived today. First impression of the fragrance: NO macarons here. Instead there is a lucious honey cherry note (slightly coca-cola-ish) surrounded by the well known LPRN vibe, without licorice/anise notes. If you are looking for a macaron fragrance, I recommend to go for Thank 'u next/Ariana Grande or Tentation/Nina Ricci. This is for LPRN lovers or people who enjoy a very well blended gourmand fragrance with French touch, not too sugary.

Everybody seems to love this one, but me. I usually like incense and cherry/macarons notes, but this perfume is just a big big nope for me. I can't get past its heaviness, and it gets louder and headache inducing with time. My daughters love it, so at least we have some use for it. I don't mind smelling it on them, I just hate it on my skin

I would love to try this perfume as I am on a kick where I just cannot get enough of nutty perfumes. Especially almond! I also really enjoy marzipan and macaron accords.... and pistachio, hazelnut, chestnut... You get the idea. Hopefully they release this in the US at some point!

La Petite Robe Noir is my favorite perfume ever so definitely will try this one:) So excited when I saw the add today here at Fragrantica, I have been wondering about why there has not been any advertisement of a new LPRN.

Curious about this one. I'm not fond of sugary gourmands but this one looks like it has just the little edge to make a difference. The bottle is beautiful! ⁝

This smells exactly like the Incense in a head shop. I mean it’s not bad, not what I expected but i can’t get past that sense memory.
