Les Absolus d'Orient Cuir Intense

Okay so....Set phasers to 'GUSH'!!! No....I hotly anticipated this release but couldn't find it on any Guerlain counters in the UK! I know Harrods had it exclusively for a while but this is Guerlain, and they usually roll it out everywhere after a short period. Still no!!! I noticed that it's now in Selfridges online but not in store....arrrrggghhh!!! My frustration was mounting, am I never going to be able to try this fragrance?? Then a perfume pal of mine from Poland (who is a sweetheart xx but also probably was sick of my moaning) sent me a sample in the post over the weekend and finally I got to sniff it. You might think that degree of anticipation can only lead to disappointment, but I'm pleased to say this stuff joins the family of brilliant releases in this line. Cuir Intense is a symphony of delicate touches and floral leather mastery, further cementing Wasser as one of the greatest perfumers alive today. I'm aware that it's a bit strange and redundant to say that this evokes Chanel's Cuir de Russie partly because Guerlain Vs Chanel is a bit like The Stones Vs the Beatles....I'll just have both thanks! Also because they don't smell anything alike but the high watermark of the Chanel always lingering and this come close to that kind of brilliance. So the facts are I don't have much to say about the breakdown of notes, because this thing is majestically smooth but there's definitely a soft iris/orris to the rounded, leather accord and Cuir Intense resembles musky touches that run through the entire line like Encens Mythique and Bois Mysterieux etc... This has a light, waxy but exotic touch of Jasmine/Ylang but it's by no means a hyper floral leather or fragrance for that matter, nor is it a complete, intense rawhide of a leather. Sadly (for my bank balance) it just adds to the long wnats list, along with the other two I mentioned. It's BRILLIANT!!!!

While not identical to AdP Colonia Leather, it shares for sure strong similarities with it, probably because of the huge load of the crowdpleasing norlimbanol. Imo, more about a round oily wood fragrance than leather with floral undertones (but afterall, leather fragrances are all about wood, since leather oil doesn't exist, and is just an impression given by birch tar). Guerlain CI may be my favourite if asked to choose between this one and the AdP. . Also: Cuir Intense has nuclear performance - probably the strongest fragrance I've ever smelt in my life. Heavy projection in the first 4-6 hours, and still moderate projection at the 18-hours mark. I could still detect it as a subtle skin scent after 4 days and several showers (!!). That said, it's pretty linear from opening til end, and not unseen before. To me, it also shares some similarity with the heart of Chanel Cuir de Russie (but not its fantastic animalic base), but Chanel's is definitely one (or two) steps higher. Well blended? yes, definitely. Unique? no, definitely not groundbreaking. Bold? No. While not office safe because of its heavy projection, it's a crowdpleasing leather, that even a woman could pull off. No Dior Fahrenheit or ELdO Rien here, but that was expected from Guerlain. Will I buy? Yes, but will wait a couple of years that it hits discounters around $100, like Oud Essentiel and Santal Royal are now retailing for. There are more interesting frags around for $200 imo. Fall/Winter evenings, 30+ PS: thank you to Fragrantica for adding this one in the database! Edit: after my vacation in Paris, and 200+ sniffings later, I can tell that this one is much too mainstream/crowdpleasing/unisex for my liking at this point. Also, there is little to no evolution. This gets out of my to-buy list, but Bois Mysterieux stays on it!

Got a 2ml sample from Sephora and i randomly sprayed all over my shirt thinking it's some random fragrance. Mom told me that whatever i sprayed on my shirt wasn't going away, even after washing it. I suspected it was cuir intense but then i thought it could be my other fragrance which i sprayed before. I went to Jordan after 2 months and in the airport i saw this same perfume. I thought to test it and sprayed 6-8 sprays on my shirt and that was the biggest mistake of my life. I had a runny nose for the whole flight and the perfume just wouldnt get off my shirt. It lasted even when i came back home and by then it could only be smelled by getting really close to the shirt but the projection was abnormal in the first 24 hours. I decided to get it. I started using it and it has this strong doze of leather and somewhat tobacco in the first sprays but as time passes, the smell develops into this sweet aromatic floral type smell but even then the projection stays solid, not reducing a foot from 2-3 feet. Want to get noticed? this is the perfect perfume and gives me sort of a businessman vibe and is just really mind blowing. The price is a big issue and it costed me 800qr which is about $220. But trust me, it's worth every penny you spend, especially since you're getting 125ml rather than the usual 100. This will never disappoint and is the fragrance i use when i want people to ask me what's that perfume I'm wearing. It does not smell like tom Ford Ombre leather to me even though both have leather, they're polar opposites. I've used both and to me, this one is more appealing. I'm going to get another bottle as soon as my current bottle ends. Disclaimer: Do not get if you're allergic to strong scents because this fragrance is nuclear in projection, longevity and smell

کویغ اینتنس گرلن گرچه عطری نچندالن پیچیده ای هست . ولی توصیفش کمی سخته. من تمام تلاشم رو میکنم تا جزییات و تشبیهات رو ذکر کنم ‌ . . استارت عطر حجم نسبتا زیاد .سوزان و سنگینی از بوی چرم داره ( مثل بوی سافرالین که چرمی و زهر آلوده ) استارت عطر اصلا عامه پسند نیست ( چیزی که من خیلی دوست دارم و شروع ی عطر خوبه معمولا) . چند جا خوندم که یکی از راههای دستیابی به نت چرم تخمیر میوه بلوط هست . خب اینجا کاملا ی فضای بوزی الکلیک داریم . تو چند دقیقه این فضا بشدت حکم فرماست . کمی بعد بوی چرم آروم میگیره و قسمت چرمیش خیلی لوکس و تمیز و پودریه .مثل چرم دی پارما که بوی ی جفت دستکش چرم اعلا رو تداعی می‌کنه . شونه به شونه حس بوی چرم .حضور گل اوسمانتوس هم هست. بنظرم خیلی دوزش زیاده شاید هم حضور یلانگ این بو رو تقویت کنه . ولی چیزی که مسلمه با ی عطری چرمی فلورال فروتی روبرو هستیم . چند دقیقه که میگذره ( ۱۰-۱۵ ) دقیقه .حس بوی پودری و شیک چرم فید میشه تو ی اکوردی که متشکل از بوی چرمی چرک و فضای فروتی و ی خروار بوی گل‌های کوهستانی و علوفه داره . قلب عطر. بشکل مسخره ای شبیه راشن تی میشه تا ۹۰ درصد شبیه همدیگه میشند .همین فضا تا یکساعت پایداره با از بین رفتن تدریجی حس فروتی . بوی موسک با حس انیمالیک ( نه خیلی چرک ) و بوی چرمی گازوییلی و خشن ورق رو به سمت حس بوی گوچی ابسولو میچرخونند . از راشن تی تا گوچی ابسولو .جالبه . زمان باید بگذره ۲-۳ساعتی تا همین فضا فرود بیاد تو اکوردی چوبی و سدروس مانند . با ته بوی رام . بی شک میشه گفت ترکیبات این عطر به سادگی هرم بویاییه بالا که معرفی شده نیست . کهربا . زعفران . عود . رز . هل . زیره و .... رو میشه حس کرد . ولی کلییات عطر. بر سه محور اصلی اوسمانتوس + چرم+ سدروس استواره . . فضای کلی عطر. بن مایه عربی طور داره ( حرمی نیست) . پرمایه سنگین وزین و شیکه . . کیفییت عطر واقعا عالیه . ماهییت یونی با تمایل به حس مردونه داره . پخش بوی بالا تو چند ساعت اول داره . ماندگاریش هم بنظر عالی میاد که تا ساعتها می‌تونه هاله ای معطر رو شکل بده .

Cuir Intense is a nicely-crafted, perfectly-balanced leather scent, made with high-quality ingredients. While it is nothing groundbreaking, it is an excellent example of the genre and a worthy addition to Guerlain's Les Absolus d'Orient line. Powdery florals open this scent, with osmanthus giving a perfectly-judged peach nuance to the leather accord that follows closely. The florals add a rounded creaminess to this scent, complementing the leather beautifully. The leather accord is woody and oud-like, and is given a slight smokiness thanks to the subtle tobacco note. The leather isn't overly animalic or skanky, instead, it is dry and palatable, yet unmistakable. It reminds me of the exquisite oud note in Cartier's Les Heures Voyageuses line, of which I'm a big fan. A nice sandalwood note emerges as it develops, bringing to mind the excellent Oud & Santal of the aforementioned Cartier line. The dry, woody leather accord remains throughout, becoming musky as it dries down. Sillage is strong and longevity is eternal - it lingered overnight to the following day, remaining even after a shower. It's just as well that it's pleasant! Beautifully balanced, and nade with high-quality ingredients, CI is a gem - one of the best leather scents I've ever tried. It is a unisex, cold weather scent. Better than TF Tuscan Leather. Simple but perfectly formed. 4.5/5.

- You spray two sprays of Cuir Intense in the morning. It starts off with an explosion of solvent and glue. Honestly the opening is just 'Ok' at best. And still unisex - ladies, don't judge by the opening or you're in for a surprise. Guerlain compares the ostmanthus to apricot, so that's were the fruity floral, semi-sweet aspect comes from. - At lunch time the devastation clears and we find the explosion has turned the earth's crust and everything in it into leather: brown, buttery leather of the highest class. First it's bespoke shoes of supple calf leather, then in the afternoon a chesterfield sofa, patina of a century of gentlemen sitting, reading and hatching plans to conquer to world. - In the evening the leather gets darker still and hints of sandalwood and tobacco, but most noticeably, an oud facet. Still some sweetness with the oud. At no point is there any rubberiness here. Rubber is the letdown of many leather fragrances, but not here. - I didn't mention this is intense. It's intense. Intense leather. It survives a bath, and the next morning I still smell it from my chest. Spray this once on your watch strap and enjoy forever. Mad as I am, I bought a bottle. 125 ml's of something this strong means my grandson will inherit it one day. I like my grandson already.

Leather, balanced somewhere between suede, new shoe and worn leather, is apparant at every stage of this fragrance's life span: In a recent jumbo order of samples i have been thoroughly enjoying, this sample bottle had been improperly closed: which has caused some of it to leak out over all the other sample bottles: It's been about a week since they arrived, and they continue to smell leathery. At first spray what i noticed was a big burst of florals (i thought it was a sweet thicc rose, but it might've been some ylang ylang), i was almost thinking this was leaning feminine... i had visions of garish cosplay incubi plucked off of the convention floor and let loose on the (pre or post-corona) nightlife of a happening town... But after even an hour, i gotta say, this stuff got dark real quick. The same full broad leather accord, dark, umptous, dry, laced with woods and a shot of rye whisky so high proof you'd gasp for air after knocking it back... Looking at this like a perfume, it smells either like a very bad ass renegade man, or an extremely intimidating, scary woman... one you'd definitely want to meet though. It's amazing as far as i'm concerned. Best leather note i've smelled since Mona Di Orio's Suede

One of the best and the strongest fragrances I've ever smelled. It smells like pure leather mixed with spicy medicine with a slight touch or fruitiness, the medicine smell for me gives it that nostalgic feeling of skipping school due to a fever or a stomach ache and your mom giving you medicine all day. The longevity and projection on this thing absolutely insane, I have a small 5ml sample that I got gifted and just it sitting on my shelf stank up the whole room, the first 3 months I had that sample the smell of it burned my nose, but then either due to aging or just air making it less stronger it went away, which i was sad of because that spiciness just hit so hard it felt like sniffing pure alcohol you smell it to hard and then the hard scent hits you, the burning sensation god it was beautiful. In the cold winter outside the smells turns into a wat more brighter and smoother and makes the smell go from a 10 to a 11. This makes every other leather fragrance generic for me. It smells disgusting dirty leather that makes everyone around you hate you for wearing this in public, I love it it's most Def not a compliment getter but it doesn't matter it's beautiful.

I just received a decant from Fragranceline. OMG!! This is an AWESOME scent. Finally!! Someone is making a REAL leather scent. Everything I've tried over the past several years that says leather seems to be a take on Tom Ford Tuscan leather... that has that sour bitter stink! I don't know what kind of leather that stuff is supposed to smell like but I've never seen it. I'm in the US Southwest and we have lots of cowboys here that wear leather boots, chaps and ride horses on leather saddles. Cuir Intense captures that real leather scent of walking into a tack shop or a boot store. I've even been to a boot manufacturer here in Tucson and they had hides stacked up in their storage room and This is what it smelled like. Bravo Guerlain! When it opens, I can smell a pleasant almost petrol/solvent scent that reminds me of the the stuff they use when actually tanning hides. They did their homework on this one! Also, the opening can be beastly but after a few minutes, it calms down and at least on my skin, does not blow everyone out of the room. I get 6 hours before it gets really close to the skin.

Blind buy after sampling Knize Ten, Histoires 1740, and Tom Ford Tuscan Leather. This one is superior to all three in terms of: -realism -straight-up Leather-forward -extreme longevity, projection, and sillage -best value-to-amount-and-potency ($200 for 125ml is a DEAL!) Three sprays and it’s pure Osmanthus-apricot smeared onto almost petro-chem gasoline leather in the BEST way imaginable, fills the room, lasts over 24 hours! There’s something oudy funky in there, too... Minimal floral here, though I do detect osmanthus and the dirty side of ylang; a touch of smoke but no incense, no fruity leather, no “supporting” leather. The Osmanthus (And other more subtle notes) serves only the Leather Master. Almost like a saddle that is at once wet-juicy and dry-tobacco-y. (But I don’t get tobacco, just a sharp petroleum-smoke.) Hypermasculine. If you don’t love tannery chemicals and petro-like intense leather, stay away. But if the smell of REALLY INTENSE LEATHER is up your alley, your EYES WILL ROLL BACK IN YOUR HEAD. I buried my face in my arm all day. Took me back to horseback riding.

I prefer this version much more to the Absolus Allegoria version (with the golden honeycomb on the bottle) as it's darker and more intense. It is a sophisticated and richly textured leather fragrance that balances depth and warmth with elegant precision. The leather accord is supple and luxurious, enhanced by the smokiness of woods and the sweetness of osmanthus, which lends subtle hints of apricot and floral undertones. A touch of cedarwood and musk deepens the composition, creating a warm, enveloping base. Refined yet bold and unapologetic, Cuir Intense is an ode to timeless luxurious leather, offering both strength and sensuality in a beautifully crafted blend. Perfect for lovers of smooth, elegant leather. 💼 In my honest opinion this is one of the best and most realistic leather accords out there. It's very photo-realistic, simply addictive. I love many fragrances from Guerlain’s D’Orient range so had no hesitation in blind buying Cuir Intense, I’ve not seen it in the Sydney stores but Selfridges ship it to Australia from London in about 5 days. Sharing the same intensity and in your face presence exhibited by Oud Essentiel, Santal Royal and Ambre Eternel, Cuir Intense does not disappoint. Amped up leather layered upon an oriental base, a tad over the top at the start, but dries down to a whisper of plush European car upholstery. I love the resinous base kept fresh and alive by the ylang ylang (florals) and interestingly, the florals recede completely leaving the leather note as the eternal star in this show. Sillage 10/10, longevity - expect to enjoy this for at least 8 hours straight during day time wear, and even longer if you’re wearing this to bed. Sometimes these fragrances which don’t rely solely on pretty florals turn out to be ultra feminine in the right setting. Recommended. Thanks for reading this.

Cuir Intense + Ambre Eternel For people to understand Intensely Animalic fragrances like these two, something must be understood, you have got to wait for at least 2 minutes before even thinking of smelling them if you are testing (assuming of course that you have enough intelligence not to buy them blind). The animalic note is right in the front of everything you are going to smell, and I think that was a smart move by Thierry Wasser, instead of ending up smelling like chewed up shoe after 8-9 hours, the animalic note is right at the beginning, intense and unapologetic, naturally as time goes by it starts to fade away slowly and in the process covering everything else in a layer of class and sophistication that stays until everything dries down completely. The fruitiness of Ambre Eternel makes it a bit more feminine than Cuir Intense, both perform admirably, smell divine and would challenge even the most seasoned fragrance collector. Well Done Guerlain, well done.

I recently did a review of this on my Youtube "Rotten Rebel" and I wanted to share how I feel about it with the lovely community here at Fragrantica! This to me is an intense leather with a dose of musk and it also has a prominent woodiness to it and a bit of smokiness. It's so well-blended that it feels like everything is part of the leather and not just a bunch of notes that are part of a blend. The name is PERFECT.. It truly smells like a strong and super-rich kind of leather with its woody smell, something sort of animalic about it with a bit of smokiness thanks to the tobacco. I think it's a great scent. But I do feel it's perhaps for someone who tried his or her way through at least a few leather scents and knows what he or she is doing. It's not as Tom Fords Ombre Leather or other easier to wear and more mass-appealing leather scents. This is strong leather and it's for someone who truly loves the scent of it. Another great release from Guerlain!

I’ve had people follow me to ask what I’ve wearing. I get never ending compliments on this one. Seems to project off the body, a good few meters. I get a little bit blind to the scent at 30 mins mark. It resurfaces, at times throughout the day. My office smells like it from a few sprays on my coat, upon returning, I notice how strong is. I own this fragrance and it quickly became my signature scent. It’s completely unisex, dark smoke, a bit wet, like in a cellar, it’s musky, and with heavy smoke note that punches you on first spray, but sits down and becomes more amicable. The opening is so dry, it’s akin to a smoked mezcal note on first spray. I somehow only smell the leather on dry down. It’s got a fruitiness that reveals Itself at the 1 hour mark, that leans away and makes it way more wearable. At the 3+ hour mark it smells gloriously medicinal and leathery. I absolutely adore this fragrance. It’s only for people comfortable with taking up space.

Glorious Guerlain This. This right here is the leather I’ve been looking for! Rich. Manly. Clear leather majesty. NOT the scent of the souk, in case you were wondering. This is altogether more resplendent. And do disregard any naysayers in the reviews/ comments: this is a masterfully blended leather which punches way above its class as a non-niche. Sadly, Guerlain, I believe, has already discontinued this one. Along with other greats from the line. I saw a reviewer’s comment that the variant in the clear glass bottle doesn’t have the same longevity as those which previously rolled off the production line in the opaque bottle. If the case, I guess it must have stayed for weeks as this is leather on beast-mode. But a tame, amiable and delectably seductive beast.

Cuir Intense is a delightful journey of a scent starting off from an initial light flowery opening, before finding itself at a sophisticated wood, leather and tobacco destination. You have to be confident with this scent, as it is thick and heavy, extremely well made, with a range of soft, tough, old and dusty leather notes. It takes a while to settle and that is a testament to its mastery. This conjures the image of an old wooden library in summer, the light florals make their way through the floor to ceiling windows, while the sun beams warm leather bound books, and waxy leather chairs, pungent animalic scent from mounted deer adorning the walls, cashmere sweaters, balsamic wood and the buzzing of faded piped tobacco smoke curling in the air.

This is the strongest long lasting perfume I have ever had or tried in my life. On skin more than 12 hours and still persisting after shower but on clothes is where the magic happens. It could last for months. The smell is of heavy leather and oud but with a sour smell in the opening. For sure not a crowd pleaser but this is my favourite fragrance ever. This is like a screw you statement to everyone out there but somehow I just love it. Not a safe blind buy but for those that it works you are going to love it. The price is kinda ok like 150-165 Euro for 125 ml for an EDP that is like almost niche territory but for the most longlasting house perfume of more than 2 centuries this is ok. Best used for winter night outs.

Sadly, the reformulation in the brown translucent bottle is too weak, I still own the first batch opaque bottles and the longetivity I get from it is eternal, I tested the first batch opaque bottle with santal royal, Dior homme parfum, Zegna Indonesian oud edp, and royal tobacco, it definitely outpaced them all in my opinion. Though royal tobacco did put in a good fight. Its longetivity in its dry down was outpaced by cuir intense in the next day. Again, sadly, This reformulation in the brown bottle is too weak in my opinion. I love the older batch so much, it’s definitely my favorite leather fragrance Pls suggest any other beastly leather fragrance out there - not reckless leather ( it’s a pass for me for now)

This leather/woody fragrance is very good for special occasions and ceremonies like weddings and family gatherings, unique and charming, definitely an in-door fragrance and better in winter. Don’t be cheap by spraying like 4 sprays, spray as much as it covers you and you will have a great sillage. The moment i spray this in my room the whole room is filled with the scent. Masculine and captivating, definitely worth its price but not a monster performance giver, its the performance you would expect if you want something for particular occasions, the first 2-4 hours nice projection and the longevity is around 10 hours and it would lingers to be a skin scent at that time rather than a strong surrounding smell

I love this so much it is A fragrance that truly works! It is so reliable. I found this Gem at the airport. I sprayed Cuir intense on the paper slip and kept in my wallet. Had completely forgotten about it during the flight. Upon arrival, while unpacking, this beautiful gem completely filled my room with a smooth leather buttery scent that lingered for ever. I bought a full bottle afterwards and it performed even better on skin. It’s a shame it’s been discontinued it’s so good and so reliable. Surprisingly I wore this gem all season and it worked well, just go very lite, or sparingly on the trigger in the heat. The sillage is sooooo good. Pls bring back this gem.

Gorgeous oriental leather! I totally get the hype! A leather fragrance through & through. It has that same Tom Ford Tuscan Leather's medicinal leather note, with a woody yet soft sandalwood note, that orientalizes the fragrance, & touch of dry tobacco that adds more woodiness to the scent. The lack of raspberry, or any fruity notes, makes Cuir Intense darker, heavier, & a more medicinal leather fragrance than TF Tuscan Leather, & most leather fragrances in general. Great performance, too, like the rest of Les Absolus D'Orient line. In my opinion, Oud Essentiel, Cuir Intense, & Bois Mystérieux are the jewels in this line. A mature, cold weather wear. "Love!"

Guerlain's Cuir Intense is in many ways a very simple scent, linear and easy to understand but extremely strong. It smells like a clean slab of leather, extremely polished, cured leather with barest touches of smoke and florals. Think the polished underside of a freshly made leather boot - shining with polish, wood-like and supremely hard. As it's an extremist shot of pure leather, it evokes dependability, the outdoors and has a rose-tinted appreciation of old things, country houses and traipsing through the field. However, it's not complex at all, and instead is linear from start to end. Simply thick, chewy leather - nothing more and nothing less.

Dark Leather, dense, animalic, and hyper realistic. Cuir Intense is a masterful creation, powerful, with a slightly sweet, creamy, and floral undertone; despite the strong presence of leather, one cannot fail to notice the sweetness of osmanthus and ylang ylang, which softens and tempers the strength of the leather. Just beautiful. There is something deliciously animalic in Cuir Intense (so try before you buy, since it may not be everyone's cup of tea). Longevity is eternal on my skin, with strong sillage for the first 4h. Major love from me for Cuir Intense.

Cuir intense was a one of kind experience for me Testing it on paper or skin it was outstanding The leathery notes kept pumping all the time with a little bit of florals , mainly the leather was dominant Sadly on my clothes those florals came to life literally they started competing with the leather in the fragrance which somehow changed view of the scent to a lesser grade in my book And to me a fragrance I can’t wear on clothes is almost not good enough I really loved it on other surfaces but on clothes the florals just couldn’t let me enjoy my leather

The fresh kick at the start leads to a storm of rawhide leather and intoxicating musk, with warm notes of tobacco and cedarwood adding depth. Strong and unique, not a blind buy, but a must-have for leather enthusiasts.

This, like the rest of the Absoutes d’Orient Collection, is much more than meets the eye. The leather is very well contrasted and isolated. It’s not a harsh leather, but it is definitely stronger and more intense than the soft suede of Cuir Beluga. The leather is treated with violets and rose but the floral aspect becomes more muted as the fragrance dries down. The osmanthus in this is very creamy and warm and the tobacco and musk adds a certain “human” saltiness. Staying power is insane. Can feel myself with every breath.

I tried this in the duty free at the airport. I put a small spray on my arm under my jumper and jacket and it massively overpowered the TF oud wood on one wrist, versace oud on the other and the Diptyque Tempo I wore that day. Sitting on the plane all I could smell was this, without trying! 5 hours later it's still strong. It reminds me a lot of AdP Oud & Spice, which I love. I dont get so much leather from it, at least not Ombre Leather style leather. Definitely good value for money, performance is epic.

Wearing cuir intense is like wearing clean, neat, but trusty leather jacket. It is definitely unapologetically very leathery, with aromatics , reminded me of men's classic colognes. whiff of tobacco , not smoke, not cigarettes, but full bodied tobacco and woods. Cuir intense always adds a dash of confidence and warmth on gloomy days for me. Do try if you are curious about leather or love leather notes! Tobacco lovers, give this one a try too! Not the most dominant note, but it is interesting nonetheless.

This fragrance is 100% yummy and I dare say that any man who wears it will smell 100% yummy. Yummy doesn't have to have vanilla. It can have dry, aged leather with tobacco that's aged and been well preserved in a humidor for years. The opening had some hints of osmanthus, but once that rich leather-tobacco fully developed, the concrete set in. Although it's rich, deep and dark, there are slightly sweet nuances to the fragrance. Intense, ah oui. That's all. Note: Tested dark bottle.

Difficult opening but after five minutes it's wonderful! It has the DNA of this line, with the synthetic smelling hardcore base, but there's a delightful, playful sweet fruity thing here which gives a sort of bright, suedey softness (although, make no mistake,, this is not a soft perfume). They've killed the magic with the new reformation (Absolus Allergoria). Absolutely nothing like The Lover's Tale, they're two opposite ends of a very diverse spectrum.

I blind bought today based on the reviews and more on the youtube channel (U smells good) and i was very excited about, it smell really good. The first spray reminds of my dad old leather jacket.lol and that was shoking to me, salty leather tannery smelling, but after it dried down it gets more woody/musky and the tobacco comes to play in the corner side. Projection: very good 4h+ Longevity: enourmous 12h+ Rating: 8.5/10

Reformulated in my opinion. The new translucent bottles do not have the same performance as the original opaque bottle, which was insanity level beast mode. Perhaps the latest version is more wearable, I find it more salty-floral and I definitely wear it more easily than the original. No leathers can beat TF Tuscan Leather or AdP Colonia Leather for proper that proper leather vibe...

Cuir Intense is indeed intensely leather. I have it, Tonka Imperiale and Spiriteuese Double Vanille. Of those I think Cuir Intense is the most masculine. It smells like a well used horse saddle having sat in a tobacco drying barn a few years. An appealing, earthy scent. Nothing floral to mention. I love it on a man. Not so much on me. I lean more vanilla and floral.

I have a 2023 batch bottle (translucent glass; neck ribbon; no metal honeycomb lattice on the shoulders). A very good floral leather indeed. I can't speak to earlier versions, but two sprays on the neck after bathing and five hours later it was still pushing hard. It's a measure of the work that it can be so potent and yet so appealing after a long wear.

A big love for me. On my skin it is not so animilac. More like a wild cat, spying on its prey in the distance animalic. It is there but not in a disturbing or off-putting way. The leather smells real and the drydown is delicious. High quality, great perfomance. I'm going to check out more leather fragrances, but this might be my cold weather signature.

Cuir Intense is my favorite fragrance at the moment. Compliments doesn't stop whenever I wear this one + People keep asking me about the fragrance I'm wearing This one is not just " good " as people say, it is LEGENDARY. If you like leathery perfumes, then you'll absolutely like this one. A very high quality one. I recommend it for everyone I know.

Amen to what matty64 says. I know TF TL has a dedicated base, but to my nose, Cuir Intense is superior. Plus the musk, cedar, and leather accords have a skanky, oud-like, cheesy animal funk that proper—as in, not absurdly refined—real-life leather emanates. It’s a wet steamy dirty tannery leather, the kind that sweats. Which is to say: gorgeous.

Leathery smell so much, some woody and oudy. Nice blend. But sometimes i can smell the old leather jacket vibes from it. This thing exudes niche quality to the level of Amouage line. Different from mainstream fragrance. Worth buying. Long lasting and projects well too. But i dont think it is wearable anytime you like.

I get the similarity of this and Qaa'ed Al Shabaab, but only at the opening with that leather-osmanthus combo. QAS is rubbery leather scent with oud base. While CI is spicy leather scent with tobacco base. Both works amazing on my skin. But don't overspray, it tends to project like you're actually born in a tannery

I found this fragrance in old perfume store, batch 2019 (first batch since launched). Need several months to decide to purchase and finally i bought it home last week. Monster performance, good sillage. I want to buy backup bottle in a couple of months (in that store, still available two more batch 2019 bottles)

This is it. This is the leather I've been trying to find. This reminds me a bit of crayons - musty, oily and kinda sweet. It feels borderline cosmetic and very familiar. It's that Guerlain DNA hidden under all the leather. This is absolutely unisex. Beautifully crafted floral leather scent.

Wait till mid winter, spray your coat on Monday, wear it all week, have it washed on Sunday.... Have the rest of your laundry smelling like it whilst drying then repeat. This is the most “fuel efficient” fragrance regarding how many sprays you need. Toxic potency, absolutely adore it!

WOW! I blind bought this, along with two others from this collection and this is hands down, the quintessential leather scent. Wonderful woody leather. Definitely leans masculine, but I think anyone would love this. It’s classy and yet rugged. Another amazing release from Guerlain!

I have removed this review until I obtain a bottle of this direct from Guerlain, I have no idea what possessed me to buy off eBay but I now strongly suspect that I purchased a re-filled authentic bottle, presumably containing clone perfume oil diluted with alcohol. Beware folks.

Morkant - I think there has just been a big restock on time for Christmas. Normally, I can’t find it anywhere (and I’ve been looking for ages) but I’ve seen it at several UK department stores and at Duty Free. If someone you know is flying somewhere....ask them to take a look.

Absolutely fantastic. I love this fragrance. The initial blast is a little overwhelming however 20 minutes later and I am huffing my wrist like a maniac. This garners compliments galore too. I need to wear this more often. I only hope Guerlain don’t discontinue it.

Definitely not the luxurious suede in TF Tuscan Leather, but rather smokier and more animalic. Is really intense and can fill the room. Works perfectly as a second skin, I love it. Could be used all year round, in summer in cooler nights only. Worth to sample it.
