Les Absolus d'Orient Musc Noble

Amazingly delicious fragrance, one of my favorites from the Les Absolus D’Orient collection. Yes it’s a bit dated, but who cares, this is sexiness and refinement in a bottle. The concoction is quite simple... lovely Roses, fragrant Geranium, and an amazing envelope of sweet Musk, zesty White Musk, and extremely addictive Aldehydes... truly one of the most alluring fragrances I have ever smelled. Regarding the musk, it does have a faint animalic bottom, but it won’t bother anyone, it’s just delicious and alluring. The rest of the notes are not distinguishable on their own... from previous reviews I expected to smell the Saffron, but I really don’t, and I don’t miss it, this perfume’s scent is perfect just as it is. I just wished performance was as great as the scent, but it ain’t... projection is intimate from the start, and longevity is just a couple of hours, constant reapplying will be required. I have a couple of perfumes from this collection, and sadly they all have the same lousy performance. Musc Noble is unisex slightly leaning towards women, some additional woods or synthetic molecules would make it lean more manly. Better suited from mild to cold weather, for me Musc is too complicated of a note to wear on warm days. For some reason I find myself wanting to add some sandal and vanilla, or spices and vanilla, perhaps one of this days I’ll try one of those combinations, maybe even both, and update this review accordingly. This parfum could’ve easily been one of my favorites if it only had better performance.

My journey with Musc Noble began in the Guerlain Boutique at Galeries Lafayette. I was on the hunt for a scent that really spoke to me, trying out about 10 of them, four on my arms, but nothing quite hit the spot. I wandered around for a while, and suddenly, one of those fragrances on my arm just kept pulling me back. It was addictive, almost unfamiliar in a good way. At first, I couldn't pinpoint which one it was, but the longer it lingered, the more I found myself falling for it. So, I went back to Guerlain and bought my very first bottle of Musc Noble. I reserve it for special occasions; it's not an everyday scent for me. While its initial notes might not have been my immediate favorite, the heart and base notes unveil an unparalleled beauty. The middle notes weave a tale of opulence and allure, captivating the senses with their intricate blend. Yet, it's the enduring embrace of the base notes that etches an indelible memory. Musc Noble Guerlain isn't just a fragrance; it's an experience, something that evolves beautifully on the skin. It might not have been love at first sniff, but now, it's become an essential part of my collection. Its enduring presence is simply remarkable.

I am so glad l got it. This is how perfumes should smell - in terms of quality, naturally. There are so many notes and so many facets in this composition, the beginning is a fresh rose mixed with some very airy aldheides (i was afraid when reading aldheides in the pyramid: fear not, they're so small and well blended you barely can tell... they're needed though, to give lightness). This rose becomes more sensual and deep, almost oriental, a hint of rose-aoud combo with a sapient mix of spices, some leather and amber. If you inhale deep there you will find a skin musc. Its barely there but it makes you feel at home. It smells relaxed luxury. This scent is called Musc Noble but it's about a rose. It makes me feel good. It's a sensual perfume but fresh at the same time (even if these 2 terms are oxymorons). It's present but not loud, can be worn in many occasions as it's not offensive. Longevity is stellar (12 h plus) and on clothes even more. Is it worth the 125 Euros? Yes it is. You get a real fragrance with really quality ingredients, niche level. Way better than many other mediocre designer fragrances that are priced the same. Now i have to get the other Absolus....

I love this perfume so much !! But It took time to realize that I love it. At first I didn’t like it very much, but I bought it. The beginning of the smell reminds me of a hair spray for setting. Then it became kind of barber smell on my skin. Its musc scent lasts long on my skin. If I wear it before going to bed, I can still smell it when I get up. Especially, I adore this dry down. I think it’s cozy musc. Barber cozy musc ?? I don’t smell any rose. A vendeuse told that it was a strong perfume and she used it when she wanted to go out at night with a dress. But, I think we can wear this perfume whenever we want. This is poor projection on me, but it is cozy sophisticated...However, when my friend tried it, she told me « you really like this perfume, are you sure !? I cannot believe it !! » she likes flowerly Scent, so people who like flowerly might hate it. Anyway, thought it took time to like it, this perfume is amazing !!

I am starting to dislike this forum a little less in a good way. The reviews are addictive and I find myself saying every day "take my money now". Now I will have to buy this perfume as if I need another freaking bottle of perfume. The bottle alone makes it worth it. Lord have mercy on my wallet! On my goodness right after posting this above, I went and ordered this from FXNet because I was afraid they will be out of it soon. The price was more reasonable than the expensive department stores. Oh, I couldn't just order one, I had to of course buy Idylle Duet Jasmin-Lilas also. What is wrong with me? Edit - received it this week - awesome fragrance for mature adults. You have to wear this on special occasions, too nice and strong to waste on just any day. I cannot wait for the others to be available from FX for me to purchase them. This is definitely a must have in your collection if you are a fan of powerful scents.

The reviews are all over the place on this fragrance. I love it. What is a lightly sour scent morphs between rose and geranium and saffron with moments of musk and leather. It sits intoxicatingly close to my skin reminding me it is there with light floral whiffs for hours while working or reading throughout the day. Guerlain has done it again with the paradox great scents need ... simple yet complex. Unisex- yes. If you want something to discover throughout an evening or take with you during the day then this is a contender. Most people seem to like an after shave to splash on for a spin then forget it. Or a candy scent to wear while buying nail polish. This is an offering from a perfume house that you can discover, play with, develop memories with. Not for everyone, sure. But able to spray on and remember when the light florals remind you of that museum walk thru, or when you met up for dinner, etc..Nice.

A spicy, waxy and piercingly powdery rose with red wine and raspberry. A play of contrasts. It lasts for a long time and it might be the THE most interesting, unisex and reliable rose on the market at present. Honourable mentions go to Francis Kurdjian’s L’Homme à la Rose, Velvet Rose & Oud from Jo Malone and Desert Eden from Estee Lauder. Forget the sour and overpriced TF Cafe Rose which is currently the hype. Musc Noble is a balsamic rose, rich and dark, adorned with bright sparkles of sawn metal and comforting musks. It gets better as it evolves. So, give it some time. I like the bottle too, I’m just against this forced Middle-Eastern marketing. Guerlain should keep celebrating their classic French roots with the use of materials sourced from around the world just as they’ve been doing it for hundreds of years. 9/10 a Masterpiece!

Guerlain Musc Noble is a nice fragrance, totally my cup of tea - and that red bottle is really pretty. In the first hour of its skin life it’s a soft musky scent spiced up by saffron and - cinnamon (although that note is not officially listed). In a way it reminds me of FM Musc Ravageur, however it is milder and ultimately more wearable. Afterwards the musk becomes less spicy and more soapy, so it now resembles a luxurious soap with a spicy kick. It projects softly but lasts about 4-5 hours. The only downside is its high price: although Musc Noble is cheaper than Musc Ravageur, it’s still almost three times more expensive than the fragrances from the Aqua Allegoria series; yet it doesn’t really have the ‘wow’ factor that would justify such a steep price. I’d buy it if I could find it for about a half of its regular retail price.

Clean musky rose with a spicy twist, slightly sweet, very smooth. It's interesting because to me, this and Encens Mythique together make up Encens Mythique d'Orient. This has the musky spicy sweet rose, Encens Mythique has the ambergris and aldehydes. Like they split EMO in half.. So to me this is a much more wearable Encens Mythique d'Orient, which is great as they killed Encens Mythique d'Orient with the release of Encens Mythique. I LOVED the former, but it was a bit too intense for a signature scent, this is much more tame, but for the same reason many EMO fans are gonna be angry with Guerlain, as some liked it for the wildling it is :) Also, the two fragrances are NOTHING alike but I feel like this is the same sweet rose (only about the rose) in Diptyque Ombre Dans L'Eau. Not a green one, not a freshly crushed rose petal.

Am I crazy to think that this is more similar to LV Les Sables Roses compared to Santal Royal? First time I tried it, to me, it smelled like what mature men would wear. But as it dried down, I could smell more rose, saffron, pink pepper, and musk all in the same proportion, unlike Les Sables Roses that smells more rosy and peppery as it dries down on my skin. Been looking for a dupe for that, and I am pretty happy with this one. Lasted for about 5 hrs on my skin and about 10 hours on clothes. But one time, I stayed the night at my friend’s place and she said her pillow smells like me and that smell stayed for 3 days lol. I like this better after some time of wear, especially after I get sweaty because somehow it turns kinda sweet and ambery unlike when it’s freshly applied; smells musky, powdery, and sharp.

This perfume is what luxury means. at the duty free shop, there is not much to spray left in the test bottle. Luckily the bottle spray was stained with some left over scents so i had a chance to tried a bit which was amazingly luxurious and beautiful, I bought it right away. So I get the pretty rose and the spiciness at the opening, quite harsh at first 10mins, enormous sillage, and i get why the metallic, after that the coming rich luxurious floral musky will only make you fascinated. I have over 80 perfumes and i cant find anything alike. Even with the ones I had before. And the best part of this is that the scents are getting better and better by time

This is not an oud rose. I can see where that might come from but it is definitely a smoky, woody musky rose, with a background animalic on top of the musk I can't quite put my finger on. I sprayed down my suit 2-3 weeks ago with 3 sprays. I got that suit out to put on tonight and it is still there, clear as a bell. Clearly the oils Guerlain used here were of extremely high quality. Very impressive. This is at the farthest end of the feminine spectrum that a run of the mill guy like me can pull off. This fully embraces roses all the way, and the only thing that throws in "I'm still a guy though" is the smoky musk.

Ok, I decanted this to try it out. I'm a guy and I usually dislike feminine scents on my skin, but this one smells amazing. I will not wear it as I find it really feminine leaning , but I would love if the woman I'm with would smell like this. If you're a woman. I encourage you to try this, it smells like a perfect spring night scent. I don't notice the pink pepper at all , so I wouldn't describe this spicy in any way. When I close my eyes while smelling this, I see a field of Japanese cherry tree blossoms.

If you’re into Chanel No 5, Lanvin Arpège, Le Galion Sortilège like aldehydic, clean but sophisticated in a vintage way kind of scents, this one will become an addiction. Feminine with a cold, elegant attitude the musk accord and soft pink rose petals are just otherworldly. It’s been said to be discontinued, such a shame. Armani’s Musc Shamal is a twin, btw. If you can’t find Musc Noble, try Musc Shamal. They pretty much smell alike, and are hard to discern on skin.

Musc noble is soft, warm, spicy rose-musk fragrance. the rose is so musky, powdery, leathery... i almost expect to find oud too. Feels regal, elegant yet approachable kind of scent. wonderfully blended On me, like most in the orient line form Guerlain, lasts for a long time. Love to mist this lightly on my sweaters to get that soft whiff of spicy rose-musk whenever there's movement. i do think this suits classic dresses as much as biker's jacket. very unisex.

Oh Guerlain! Oh Thierry Wasser! You have created something special. The bottle of Musc Noble is as beautiful as its name. I was a little worried initially as I thought this fragrance would be a dirty musk, but it is not. It is gentle but with enough spiciness to make it truly wearable. The dry down is beautiful. The price however is steep - so as much as I enjoyed wearing this, I probably won't be buying it any time soon.

I tested it once at the perfumery, among 15 others, and this one sample caught me like a domina the balls of a sub. And I am very picky in these matters too. Seriously, this fragrance IS like ME. Repulsive at the beginning, cruel, repulsive, almost... then after some time, after the drydown, it becomes a flowery, sweet, lovely, cool, deep and loyal. So Capricorn. ..

Sexy spiced rose with an almost oud like kick although that isn't listed so I'm not sure what gives me that impression - the leather and saffron perhaps. Whatever it is, I love it, this smells opulent and sensuous, not overwhelming projection wise, just gorgeous. This does somewhat remind me of POAL. Shame about the price though!

This is the most elegant and sophisticated musc scent I’ve ever smelt. Most of the muscs out there are either too powdery, too clean/fresh, or too basic and juvenile. But not this. This is a spicy, woody musc that is quite different from any musc out there. It’s very warm and cozy. Could easily be worn by both genders.

Love this scent! I wear it as a younger man, though I truly believe it’s a unisex fragrance. It’s about as elegant as a fragrance can get; the rose blends with the musk and an array of spices to give it a mature, expensive smell. And the performance is great. So happy I bought it despite the price tag.
