Blind bought this based on the hype and was not disappointed. When I first received it, I was in the midst of a bad cold. During this time, the creaminess of the almond was very off-putting and made me dislike the fragrance. However, once I recovered, I was able to get the citrus a lot more, giving it a very nice balance. The opening is a very strong and juicy grapefruit with just enough of its characteristic bitterness. During this, time, projection is quite good. This settles down after about 0.5-1hr, with the creaminess of the almond becoming much more apparent. It becomes more luxurious, giving the image of a younger professional in their 20s. Having had a short experience with LV Imagination at the store, I can see the slight comparison of the citrus and creaminess combination. I find the LV to be more playful and unisex while the Guerlain is more "professional" smelling. The two achieve their creaminess in different ways and the LV leans sweeter on the citrus as opposed to the slightly bitter grapefruit. I really like the bottle of the Guerlain with its facets and knurled cap that clicks nicely into place. Overall, this is a very well-blended fresh and professional fragrance that just feels right for its price.

L'Homme Ideal Platine Prive is a citrus, almond and aromatic fragrance. It has a very pleasant citrus and fresh opening, slightly creamy, although it passes very quickly to the almond and floral base of the original L'Homme Ideal and no longer shows any further changes in its development. It bears a certain resemblance to L'Homme Ideal Cologne, but in my opinion, despite having citrus fruits, they are not the same. In the Cologne version, the citrus fruits lasted longer and the base was more musky. This new release is a fresh version of the original Ideal, it is less sweet than Cologne was, they have removed the vanilla and tonka bean from the original and left it with a slightly more woody base, which gives good versatility (For me Ideal EDT is versatile, but Platine Prive is more). Platine Prive could be used all year round, although it would be used more in warm climates, or in spring, summer and autumn. For casual or semi-formal use, for everyday use in any activity. As for performance, it was average, with me it lasted for about 7 hours, with a regular sillage. I recommend buying it blind if you already know the line and want a more versatile version of the almond aroma, plus it will be a limited edition.

Don't know why people are slating this over performance. I bought a bottle and was delivered yesterday at 12pm and I sprayed once on back of my hand and can still smell it at 10am this morning and that's after washing my hand and that during it. Reminds me slightly of kouros body in opening then I find it similar to dior homme cologne in dry down but without the homme citrus. Overall a really nice fragrance and I'll use during spring, mild summer days and early fall. However projection isn't best in dry down Going to wear it properly today as I also bought heritage and wore that yesterday. Update. After wearing today it hasn't lasted more than 8 hours. Disappointed after yesterday but will try again soon Wore again on 21st January and easily lasted all day and could still smell it following morning. All wears are from a bottle that's only a few weeks old so can only get better. Would definitely recommend. I should also point out that I personally get amazing longevity out of fragrances so don't take mine as guaranteed but would say average person should get 8 hours. I get 6 hours from dior edc sometimes upto 8. No idea why as I have dry skin aswell but definitely not complaining

Been waits for this one to hit discounters and... it never materialized. Bought this at Guerlains website for about $120. Mentioning this in case you’re wanting to pick it up as well The presentation of outstanding. Comes in a giant white box and another box and in a wrapping of sort Sprayed my hand and... SLIGHTLY disappointed. It smells FANTASTIC. Don’t get me wrong. But it also smells similar to the other Ideals that I have. Just a fresher take. Which is to be expected I suppose. I figured it would’ve been vastly different. No need to go over the notes as that has been covered by everybody on here. Should you buy this blind? If you find one at discounters under 100. YES If you have a small collection and perhaps don’t have any Guerlains. Yes. I would say this is a good one. Whilst I do enjoy this fragrance and think it smells amazing. Had I smelled it first and realized how similar it is to my other ideals. I wouldn’t have bought this. That being said they sent me habit rounge EDP sampler and... OMG. This is a killer scent. Getting this very soon

Happily disappointed. Opening didn't get me nor has the mid nor the dry down. Having this in the collection really didn't add any level of freshness to an already not-super-heavy line. I love having it and can appreciate the fact it can be worn in the warmer months but to say it has priority in this tier over other designer-niche fragrances I own is a lie. Fresh opening with, indeed, a green almond - a different take compared to the others I own (I only have the EDT from the fresher ones - not Cool, Cologne, nor Sport). Stays close to the skin while being quite noticeable up close. It is not one to smell from afar to improve on synthetics up-close or similar. It is a perfumed skin kind of scent with good uniqueness and situational versatility. Paid $90 for my 100ml but performance is, unfortunately, not even close to being one its attributes. 3-4 hours with a great musky dry down where the almond-vetiver combo kicks in during the mid and perfumes it all the way thru its life. Collector's piece more than a must-have.

I wanted to test a sample of this fragrance based on the fact that I love LV Imagination. Well, this L'homme ideal Platine Prive is in the same family but it veers off quite a bit: the citrus is less zesty/zingy, no cinammon and the characteristic green almond is prominent all throughout. Neroli is barely detectable. The vetiver makes it greener and less spicy. Am I too crazy to notice a resemblance with PDM Carlisle? Like a lighter watered down flanker. To me this smells 40% L'homme ideal (EDT or EDP), 30% LV Imagination a 20% lighter PDM Carlisle and 10% Dior Homme Cologne. I have not smelled Tygar or the L'homme ideal Cologne (discontinued) so these are my 2 cents. All in all it is a great spring/summer EDT with the classic L'homme Ideal vibe, brighter "classy" citrus and average performance

Very similar to l'Homme Ideal Cologne. HIC has a much more vibrant citrus opening of grapefruit, freshly zested lemon peel (as opposed to a realistic botter orange zest with lemon with HIC). HIC has better longevity and projection, but settles down more similarly to the original EDT (not necessarily a bad thing) minus the vanilla and leather. Platine Privé smells much smoother and a whole lot nicer in the dry down than HI Cologne, in my opinion with a stunningly beautiful vanilla cedar base, but the performance is not as good compared to HIC (although neither has amazing longevity to be fair). The scent profile for PP is a 9/10 to my nose, longevity is a 4/10 and is really the Achilles heal of this fragrance. There's really no excuse for performance being as poor as it is.

As soon as I saw this on Guerlain's website, I immediately ordered it and got the fastest shipping. I love the L'homme Ideal line and was super excited for this release. Upon initial spray, I immediately got a whiff of a familiar scent. It smells about 85% to what L'homme Ideal Cologne smells like. However, there is a more citrus/fruity twist that reminds me of Afternoon Swim by Louis Vuitton. It is like Lhomme Ideal Cologne took some notes from Afternoon Swim and I love that because Afternoon Swim is my favorite summer fragrance. Overall, it is a great scent, but I would not recommend if you already have/had L'homme Ideal Cologne. In all honesty, I prefer it over cologne and I will probably sell my backup bottle in the near future for another bottle of Platine Prive. 8/10

This one is beautiful, I have never tried Guerlain L'homme Ideal Cologne as this is my first foray into Guerlain but this is in the same vain as Terre D'Hermes Eau Givree (graprefruit + woods) and Dior Homme Cologne (Ice cold lemonade). Reason I say that is because it starts as an extremely bright citrus with another accord behind it. The almond note is new to me and something to get used to but I really enjoy it, the citrus hangs around and the creamy almond slowly creeps up. It reminds me a lot more of DHC due to the lingering cloud/bubble of citrus that you get whiffs of. Excellent summer fragrance, I put it a notch behind Terre D'Hermes Eau Givree for me, but this is a keeper and definitely going to be a part of the rotation. Looking forward to future wears of this!

Managed to pick this up today for 545 AED whilst in Dubai and it is love at first sniff! Creamy accord with citrus but not where it’s overpowering and can only imagine this getting better and better as times goes on. A true all rounder and can see this being worn for every and any occasion and climate. An underrated classic in my opinion and Guerlain should have continued with this fragrance and made Platine Prive flankers rather than discontinuing this amazing scent. Severely tempted to buy a second bottle and keep as a back up for then the first one finishes as I find it to be that good! Value 9/10 Scent 9/10 Longevity 8/10 Sillage 8/10 Repurchase when run out - Yes if still available Blind buy safe - if you like the Guerlain L’Ideal range then yes

Platine Prive for spring/summer days and nights, Ideal Parfum for fall/winter evenings and nights. You're a bit older now, and you find yourself eating small plates and sipping French Burgundy rather than projecting unspent testosterone. Fond memories of Ideal EDP's black cherry cocktail, Extreme's peppery-intensity, and L'Intense's heady cardamom-leather rush during those after-work mixers... all gently fading into the rear-view mirror. It's time to settle into a new decade, with a new outlook. Platine and Parfum are how it will be done. Alas, the performance isn't great, but you can safely douse yourself with Platine without shame or embarrassment. Grade: A- Quick take: Energizing almond citrus for a distinguished adventure

This is another case of a Guerlain perfume that improves its performance after a few months. When I bought it, I thought it was wonderful, better than the old version of Cologne, a sparkling citrus opening with a light almond note. It was very light and had low sillage, but today this perfume has a much better performance and the almond note is much more evident. I have 3 bottles, unfortunately it is a limited edition, I believe that this perfume with a few adjustments could go to the L'art & La Matière line, as it is already one of the best fresh perfumes from Guerlain. And best of all, it is a perfume that has the house's signature, it has the profile of Guerlain and Guerlinade.

I’ve spent a few weeks with this now. I haven’t been reaching for anything else. I think this is a top tier warm weather scent. That creamy almond with the citrus is just *chefs kiss* I do think you can go noseblind to this rather easy. I notice it for much longer some times than others. I think it’s safe to say this performs in the 4-6 hour range. Which is fine. It’s not incredibly strong but it isn’t incredibly weak. Up close if you dig your nose it’s an odory grapefruit but in the air it is a beautiful creamy citrus. I hope it’s not actually limited because I don’t want to have to get a backup bottle just yet. I definitely will want to have this in my collection at all times.

This one has citrus with almond mixed in as well. Smells pretty linear until literally putting my nose in it and get a slightly musk/animalic vibe. Although staying power is not it's strong suit it lasts an easy 7 hours plus off my skin.. Able to pickup wafts in the air well past that mark. A fragrance made more for a 30+ year old male. Office safe, dressed up or down, will probably not offend anyone unless you drench yourself with the entire bottle in 100F/40C+ high temperature settings. Its a shame they discontinued this one. I was not able to acquire a backup bottle before the prices became stupid expensive. Choose when I wear this one as I wouldn't want to run out.

From my sample I decided it's different enough from Cologne which I have backups of to buy this as well. As Djedi said the opening is really similar to cologne but it's different afterwards although I do get hints of the Cologne for quite some time. I have difficulty to describe what I actually smell in the main phase, but it's nice, maybe it's the almond. It also reminded me a of Ideal Sport (which I like) without the aquatic accord. Maybe the almond is similar in these two, and they are both by Jelk. Need to wear more to see if it has a soapy dry down as legendary (imo) as the Cologne. Will order a bottle for that :)

Guerlain L’homme Ideal Platine Prive (2023) - powdery fougere-gourmand - #delphinejelk adds her signature to the famous L’homme Ideal line. To most, this would remind them of the discontinued Cologne flanker. But diverts. Starts with Bergamot and that zesty yet bitter Grapefruit. Heart notes are advertised as Green Almonds, while to me it’s a powdery accord of Lily of the Valley, Jasmine, Neroli and a nutty facet from Almonds. Reminds me of similarities with Dior’s Cologne Blanche. As it dries down, it turns into a fresh Tonka fougere accord mixed with resins and Vanilla. One of my favorites in the range.

I love this Platine Privee because I love the cologne version which drew compliments when I wear it. This one is a step level up from the cologne but both are great fragrances. On a close comparison, this one has an extra nuance or punch to it. Clean, bright, crisp and refreshing but wait till the dry down where it evokes a unique manly cleanliness. It’s a very pleasant spring and summertime scent that will not offend any one. I read somewhere that this is a limited edition. I’m glad to have grabbed a bottle if that’s the case. 👍 It’s kind of pricey though but it’s worth it. 10/10 👍 Try before you buy 😉

Perfected version of l'Homme Idéal Cologne. It fixed all of the issues I had with the original by adding a light vanillic sweetness to the drydown and amping up the clean musk while greatly dialing back the vetiver which could make Idéal Cologne feel overly dry in the final stages. There neroli combined with a floral component that calls to mind Louis Vuitton's legendary Performance has been increased over Cologne, yet it's still not a show stopper. Around 4.5 hours of real perceptible performance on skin and an additional 2.5 hours as a skin scent, although it lasts 10+ hours on clothing.

I never really felt comfortable wearing L'homme Ideal Cologne, it felt too beady-eyed and innocent, also found the marzipan almond quite cloying, thankfully Privé is much better than Cologne, like much much much better! In Privé the almond is perfectly toned down and better balanced, as a result the citrus shines longer and the musks take it in a more suave, mature and confident direction. Eventually it ends up in very close territory as LV Imagination, which feels like the logical and ultimate evolution of this dna. Privé is outstanding and a fitting pinnacle of the L'homme Ideal line!

Platine Privé by Guerlain caught me off guard, pulling me into a daydream like a breeze off the Côte d’Azur. It’s strikingly similar to Louis Vuitton’s Imagination but with a quirky almond twist that makes it stand out. Perfect for summer, it’s fresh, clean, and effortlessly classy—think polo shirt, sunglasses, and a fancy hotel terrace overlooking the sea. I usually don’t vibe with Guerlain, but I fell hard for this one. Such a shame it’s discontinued; I’d have snapped up a bottle in a heartbeat. Thank goodness I got my hands on a tester to experience it. Pure love.

Beautiful warm weather offering from Guerlain with this one. This one to me is very similar to L’HOMME ideal cologne in the opening which I love since it’s one of my favorite spring time wears but try to limit sprays since it’s so tough to get for a decent price. The dry down is where this starts to shine , not a sharp and spicy off my skins as the cologne but rather goes in a soft creamery way. Sprayed it on fairly heavy yesterday and could still pick up smells of it 7-8 hours later so over all couldn’t be more happy with this one.

I never had the Cologne flanker since I got into this...hobby ? Pretty much after it was discontinued. So I was a bit bummed because I never had the chance to try it. So I got this finally today and all I can say is this is wonderfully blended like all of the l'homme ideal line , make it all Guerlains. The almond is prominent and the whole fragrance is divine and a perfect freshie so if this is any close to the Cologne flanker I totally get the hype. As for the whole duration, since it is a Cologne just spray more. 9 out of 10 easy.

Shame this was only a limited release! Delphine Jelk has done the discontinued Guerlain Ideal Cologne justice. Dry down is almost identical to the original Cologne but the initial blast is better blended with that Grapefruit blast amped up. I do find the longevity to be a bit longer to the Cologne as well. I have 5 back ups of the Cologne when it was discontinued and it was cheap but should have bought a back up bottle of this! Overall 10/10 and king of summer freshies. LV Imagination could only dream being this well crafted.

I have the entire line...this is my new favorite. It’s similar to the cologne-but better. It’s less creamy than the cologne and has a hint of green in it-truly a 10/10 scent. I just got this today and wore it throughout the day. It’s beautiful. Nice projection at first but sits closer to the skin, as do most of the others in this line from my experience. The bottle is beautiful, wonderful atomizer. I’m so thrilled with this release. It’s everything I wanted and more as far as the scent goes. Amazing, amazing, amazing.

I thin purely in terms of scent this is one of my favourites ever. A slightly creamy and zesty citrus. However the the performance is definitely not a selling point. The projection is very soft and the longevity is quite soft as well. I'm usually pretty hesitant about over spraying but I absolutely douse myself with this because it's just a pleasant scent and the projection is never going to offend anyone but also means that noone around you is going to be smelling it out of the first hour

I`m not sure if I tested the same fragrance as many people here or if I own the real "cologne". Cologne was always a great smell, but not a great performance. It was a steal for the price. Prive is way overpriced but the customers wanted "cologne" back so Guerlain listens. This one 100% has better longevity than Cologne , and smells fresher but I still prefer the creamier texture that the old one has. Other people won`t even know that you`re wearing 2 different fragrances when applied.

This is not a rebottle of the cologne. It's about 80% similar to cologne, but sharper, juicier, less round and more crisp. Almost has notes of sport in there, or even the green aspects to cool. I would call it a blend of all the freshies in the line, but most similar to cologne. Very very good. Easy, classy wear. Is it redundant if you have cologne? Maybe. It's not the same, but close. I prefer this to the cologne, and Ive gone through half a bottle of cologne. 9/10.

This was a blind buy and wanted to see what vétiver was like, and figured the citrus would help and since it’s mixed with Ideal... it’s really quite interesting and I love it! I don’t know if I’d wear it all the time like the Ideal Parfum but I like this more out of most any others I’ve gotten. The grapefruit is pretty strong and the vétiver which I just don’t think I like much because it’s the classic old cologne smell to me, but this is pretty nice.

I think this is great for everyday wear just a nice smelling fragrance doesn't need to do much or try too hard yes it is somewhat linier but there are tones of other fragrances if you want complex transitions between notes and phases. It's a great smelling light versatile fragrance in similar vein to LV Imagination and bvlgari- tygar. Having tried all of these I kind of prefer this and it's far more affordable. Great fragrance great scent

Never tried the cologne but did have Zara's Sunrise. Very similar to Zara in the opening but less sweet. More fresh, clean and zesty. Does have a much more refined and higher quality feel. Dry down is smooth, creamy and becomes more similar to LV Imagination. Good substitute and should fill the void of LV for a better price. Not to take anything away from it, it is a fantastic warm weather scent, casual and semi-formal. WORTH A BUY!

Grapefruit, lemon, bitter orange and yuzu? Also there is some subtle sugary smell mixed with Guerlain's incredible vanilla that is very addictive. I can smell sweet aromatic lavender with a hint of rosemary and flowers. The dry down is vanilla, tonka, woods and addictive musk. The almond accord is toned down in this one but still noticeable. It does not shine much in a colder weather but in a hot day it's absolutely delightful.

This is one of my favorite perfumes. It is very versatile, especially suitable for wearing to work. It can be used in spring, summer, autumn, day or night. It is very elegant, neat, gentle but also leaves a very different impression. Wow. I really like it and it can be considered my signature. Fragrance notes: Strong citrus scent of grapefruit, bergamot, neroli, musk, and I don't really sense the vetiver and almond notes.

2 sprays on my inner elbow at 12 midnight, went to sleep, woke up late, ate lunch. while doing the dishes around 12 noon to 1 past noon, i can still smell it on my inner elbow!! at initial spray, its a very zesty and citrusy scent, i dont get much of the almond but maybe i just dont know what almond smells like so that's a factor. but this is a really pleasant scent. i would use this on a very hot summer day

I loved Cologne, and this is a better, more refined version. A very cool sensation when smelling this, the citrus almost gives a fizzy feel, mellowed down with the almond, not sure what gives it a cooling sensation, but it's a great experience. I purchased this in 2023 and not used it much, maybe 10 sprays but I'll wear it loads this year when the weather changes and it gets a little warmer.

Amazing fresh lavender but with a non dated classy feel to it, kinda creamy by the almonds. You simply can’t go wrong with this one. I also don’t get it why ppl are complaining on longevity issues, maybe y’all not using it in the proper weather conditions. Educate yourselves first so you can get the best out of your colognes. And stop buying fragrances based on other opinions. Cheers! 🥂

This is very similar to Ideal Cologne! I’ve not done a proper side by side (and really should let the Platine macerate in order to do a fair side by side, although the Platine smells great on the very first spray). I’m very pleased with the “new” scent. Just sniffing the two bottles they are very similar. I think it is safe to buy this if you were looking for Ideal Cologne.

Wonderful scent with grapefruit and the signature Guerlain green almond accord. Very well crafted from the top through the mid to the drydown. Definitely leans more masculine, the reviewer that says this leans feminine is wrong. As for performance I have a mixed review. While the longevity on my skin is about 6 hours, the projection is abysmal. Skin scent after 30 minutes.

Surprise! Its a fresh flanker! And it pays homage to the long-gone L'Homme Ideal Cologne flanker; the opening smells almost identical to it. This right now is probably my favorite flanker of all 8. Full Stop. I like this better than the EDP and its rivaling the Cologne. Get your freakin' nose on this joint. 9.5/10 highly recommended - would eat there again.

For such a long time I didn't enjoyed any male designer fragrances but this one is really great! It doesn't have that dishwashing liquid smell that I mostly get from those sport/summer/cologne version of designer fragrances. It has sweetness, it has freshness so it's perfect for the summer and also you'll not smell like any other guy on the street!

On first impression, very similar to the cologne. Ever so slightly sweeter with the grapefruit ever so slightly dialed down. It’s very very good, but way more than the $24 I paid for a 1.7 ounce bottle back in 2019. I paid $119 total with a discount for this 3.4 ounce bottle. I will wear the hell out of it but damn that’s a spike in price!

Just really really good. The epitome of simple, elegant, and gentlemanly summertime perfumery. In the opening, a juicy grapefruit and bitter bergamot smoothed out with almond, but no sweetness yet. It comes more in the dry down, where the almond turns Tonka-like powdery and sweet, with the smooth and bitter citruses still sitting on top.

Incredible grapefruit opening. Aittle creamy from the almond. Don't get much neroli tbh. Never got my hands on L'Homme ideal cologne, cool or sport so it's nice to have a fresher L'Homme Ideal. My one gripe is this lacks a backbone. Dry down is a nice clean vetiver. It lacks grounding. It still smells great though.

The opening is a bit rough. However, when it settles it becomes very fresh and sweet. I also get a tea note similar to Imagination by LV from this which is really nice. Edit: The opening is no longer rough. Perhaps it was just something with the first couple of sprays from the bottle

I really like this scent. On my skin it lasts 4-10 hours. Weird I know. That's just the experience I've had. The silliage is pretty mild which is perfect for me. I don't like filling up rooms personally. I could honestly see myself wearing this on a casual summer date night.

A slightly more green Imagination. Very similar to Imagination but instead of the tea note, you get vetiver and a slight almond note. In a sea of freshies, this one stands out a little above most. Addicting and a shame that it was only a limited release. 8.5/10

I disagree with who claim that platine privee has mild performance No way it has a very decent and performance in comparison with most other fresh fragrances in the market now and has a very unique yet crowd pleasing scent profile Very good blind buy worthy

I was expecting a darker fragrance when I blind-purchased, but was very surprised that it’s bright, citrusy and a bit soapy. This perfect for spring and summer. I love Guerlain and this one is a masterpiece- easy to wear and fresh.

Perfumery at its best, nuff said.Perfect ingredient blending, scent stays with You for couple of hours and noone in the closest vicinity will suffocate. That said, it is not better the OG, the cologne version of Homme Ideal IMHO.
