L'Instant de Guerlain Extract

I don't have EDT/EDP, so I can't tell the defference between concentrations. I got yummy yogurt candy that has similarity with L'Instant Magic. They are like twin sisters. L'Instant de Guerlain is more dewy, warm, has humidity. L'Instant Magic is more powdery, cooler, little bit sour. If L'Instant de Guerlain is golden sunshine of noon, L'Instant Magic is morning sunshine. I bought it for its beautiful bottle. The original design is superb, I see the bright purple light inside out. It's a shame they lost some good bottles for the economical reasons, I do understand it is a good way to survive longer though... ----------------------------------------- I tested EDP today. Wow, such a difference! I prefer Parfum which is more powdery, delicate and tender. If you want fresh magnolia and honeydew, I'll recommend you EDP(or EDT).

L’Instant de Guerlain Parfum is an utterly stunning powdery floral with a vanillic/ambery base in true Guerlain style. The primary note to my nose is magnolia, fresh and dewy, drenched in the sweetness of honey. Iris highlights the powdery elements of the scent, and the composition is enhanced by vanilla/benzoin in the base. The scent feels vintage with a modern twist. The Parfum has excellent longevity on skin but the projection is limited. I prefer to wear it during the fall and spring seasons. The scent profile is traditionally feminine, but if you enjoy powdery florals, this is worth a try. Overall, the Parfum is an extremely classy, delicate, tender and warm scent, and is an absolute joy to wear.

Extrait is the most beautiful and complete concentration of this fragrance. What a shame it’s been discontinued! Sometimes I think Guerlain management is completely insane and incompetent. Magnolia is stunning in here, but what I detect is that the core of this composition is actually made of lily and carnation. I wonder why Guerlain doesn’t mention these quite prominent notes. This is quite intense and long lasting. Absolute masterpiece by Maurice Roucel, in my eyes one of his best compositions. My extrait flacon is half empty and then.... good bye, the world has lost one of its greatest perfumes ever made, thank to the greed and idiocy of some very important, money driven twits!

I fell in love with this perfume and I’ve looked for it for more than 10 years now ... I keep searching for it online ... if anyone knows where can I find it please write the name of the website in a review I bought the edt now and I love it so much it reminds me of the extract

A rich floral talc version of L'INSTANT. Devoid of the notable bright red apple note that's present in the opening of the EDP, this is far more powdery and it smells incredibly retro/vintage. It doesn't focus on the creamy, honeyed, resinous vanilla in the same way as the EDP, either, and it has more iris, with a violet tinge, on a salty musk/wood base. I see the honey in the notes above but honestly I don't really smell the particular note I've construed to be the honey in the original here. Very plush, sweet and powdery, with a smooth and warm character. Beautiful, but my heart will always belong to the EDP - which feels more modern. I am writing here of my "old" parfum extrait which appears to have changed slightly with time, possibly due to some leakage and evaporation, causing the magnolia and citrus to have dissipated some and becoming less apparent.

I am wearing this right now. I blindly bought a sealed vintage perfume bottle. It is a astonishingly beautiful scent. Very creamy. Comforting like a soft pillow. Incredibly feminine. Honey, magnolia and amber, flowery and vanilla (why not on the list?). It has been now 8 hours and it still smells like when I first applied it. What I find a bit dissapointing is that, from the beginning, it remains a skin scent with nearly zero projection and sillage. Nobody will notice you are wearing this unless they wake up next to you. If that is your vibe, then this is for you. For me, I wish it were a little louder!!!

I'm on my last drop of this extract and I'll miss it dearly. I'm going to keep the bottle around though for sniffing as I'm sure it'll retain the scent for quite some time. Something about this is so comforting. It's like a warm hug from a maternal figure, but it doesn't smell matronly per se. The liquid in my bottle got so dark and thick that it matches the honey note in the description. I get strong magnolia, honey, and iris in this. It's a rich, sweet, powdery, fresh scent that is like magic. As the reviewer below mentioned, it is quite difficult to open if it's been a while, but worth the muscling :).

I like L'Instant de Guerlain very much, I prefer a EDP version though. They are very similar, a parfum version is denser and a bit sweeter, but also richer. The first classic edp version has a distinct apple mousse nuance.

Has some resemblance to alien by thierry mugler, the middle notes, and its drydown on skin is similar to vintage classique by jean paul gaultier. Very beautiful and lasts for days on clothes

I bought this little gem and I don't know how to open it. All I've managed to do is scratch some of the lettering off trying to twist the top. Help!

Any advice on how to unseal this ? I'm trying to twist the cap but it won't move one bit. :-/ Edit : I finally managed to open it. :-D

This is freaking wonderful! Scored it for 55 bucks and i can not stop grinning. A treasure!
