L'Instant de Guerlain Fleur de Mandarine

Lovely. Sunny. Bittersweet. Summer smell at it's best!

I have to say this is a very different perfume from the original l'instant, especially at the opening. The bitter orange really dominates the whole composition, which upsets me a bit. Altogether it creates this green kind of celery scent-imitation which luckily soon is toned down by the underlying vanilla (dusty and creamy at the same time, which guerlain seems to nail so perfectly) we know from the original. But still, the black currant and bitter orange keep it from being harmonious, which is a quality I love so much in l'instant and l'instant magique. L'instant fleur de mandarine is just that third akward sister in the family to me. Sorry!

Sample review: This is a nice juice that I got to try out by a dear fragrantica friend :) It's a rather simple scent that opens very fresh, slightly bitter with the listed citrusnotes. After about an hour the florals make their appearance sweetened by the vanilla and a slightly powdery musky edge... Unfortunately my skin literally "drinks" perfumes, so it doesn't last too long, or maybe it does, but really close to the skin which makes it really hard to detect it on myself after about 2 hours. Nevertheless it's a nice scent!

I bought a bottle of the EDT from the estate sale of a woman who used to be a buyer for Neiman Marcus. I had never heard of it, or of its mother L'Instant, so it was a leap of faith. This is such a different scent from Guerlain than I'm used to. It smells more perfumey, if that makes any sense. The prominent citrus notes eventually blend with the base notes to make a slightly spicy creamsicle scent that I find just lovely. On me it is very long-lasting for an EDT. I'm still getting to know it, but I think I do like it.

L'Instant de Guerlain Fleur de Mandarine opens nice and bright, with a delightful fresh juicy mandarin scent. I don't find it very unique, but it is very nice. The magnolia and mandarin blossom add a lovely light floral note. Quickly though the hyacinth comes through. Hyacinth and I don't always agree with each other. It can turn quite plasticky on my skin and it does so in Fleur de Mandarine. Not for me, alas.

Please correct the error - the Mandarin produced only in 50ml bottles. Excellent flavor with juicy mandarin pulp at the top, in the database comes to classic Lanstan. Это были самые любимые мои духи...Почему их больше не выпускают?В безуспешных поисках найти что-нибудь похожее я познакомилась с нишевой парфюмерией, но и там ничего анологичного не нашла...Зато нашла много другого интересного! Но эти духи я буду помнить и любить всегда. Дорогой Герлен, выпусти их хотя бы ещё раз!
