Mahora Extrait de Parfum

26. June 2018 Im not a big admirer of Guerlain in general (selling them almost all now) and regular Mahora is not my favorite, even though i love everything tuberose. The edt/edp is too buttery tuberose to my nose (if that ́s the right way to express how i feel about it), so i am letting it go. But THIS!! Oh yes!! This is the amazing tuberose composition that i love. So potent and emotional. It brings out the emotions in you. Lasts a long time one drop and will leave a really pleasant trail. Yum! So happy to have it. Such a nice mix of flowers and flavors. I wish i could have a bigger than regular 12ml bottle of it, so i wouldn ́t have to use it sparingly.

Fragrance Review For Mahora Extract Top Notes orange, aldehydes almond blossom Middle Notes tuberose, jasmine, neroli, ylang-ylang frangipani Base Notes sandalwood, vanilla vetiver Mahora is a beautifully fragrant powerful scent of Oriental Heaven. It does smell of the citrus and sandalwood and grass of Mayotte the island as the Fragrantican reviewer who preceded my review so expressively and beautifully stated. I realize that Mahora was a commercial failure but this is a winner in my book. It smells vintage and classic, not quite Mitsuoko or Shalimar but like a hybrid of all the Oriental fragrances of that period. The opening is aldehydes so you have to love aldehydes and feel comfortable with aldehydic openings in fragrances. The citrus is heavy. Lots of citrus a la Shalimar. It's a scent of orange groves and trees and neroli. The flowers begin to bloom after the citrus scent fades away. Exotic white jasmines and tuberoses appear like you're wandering into a garden on an island no one else has ever set foot on. The ylang ylang is the more dominant accord in the pure parfum extrait it's yellow floral and creamy and blends well with the big vanilla base. Lots of vanilla. This is still a tuberose scent however. It's oily and balsamic as an extract. A little goes a long way so use a dipper and gently apply it on your pulse points - neck, wrists, forearms, chest. This is a lot stronger than the spray bottle. This is an aromatic sandalwood at the end, just gorgeous sandalwood. This is a very misunderstood Oriental. I feel protective of it and enjoy wearing it. No one I know wears this so when they smell it on me they always ask what I'm wearing probably because it's so strong. If you like floral Orientals you should really like this. This is at the other end of the fragrance spectrum than Bal a Versailles by Jean Desprez which is a huge musky Oriental musk musk and more musk. This is tuberose and jasmine heaven. I love it.
