Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose Eau de Parfum

There's a very noticeable powdery texture, almost like rubbing the velvety petals of a dark red rose between your fingers. It's a big blast of rose from the nozzle: I could see giant red roses blooming out vivaciously before my eyes. Once the overwhelming joyous choir of singular rose fades the sweeter notes rest about the sprayed area, nestled comfortably atop the roses which after their revelry now sit happily in a sweeter pink tone on the skin. The powderiness is less noticeable now. It is like specks of velvety powder twinkling amongst the settled roses. It paints a beautiful vivid picture, one where you can see and feel the 3-dimensional image of proud vibrant roses. When it winds down it becomes this wonderful skin scent, the spot sweetened with the dew of the phantom blooms that kissed it. It conjures images of a sweet, smiling yet collected young woman. Someone that is effortlessly feminine and exudes joy with a calm, gentle demeanor. It's equal parts soothing and uplifting. I am glad I blind-bought this for my birthday. For a moment I felt transported and all the ills of this crazy pandemic-sticken year were left behind for a moment. And when the mirage gently dissipated its vestiges remain as a memory on the person, an aura jubilant like the dawn. Edit: I've had this for a month now. FYI for those that are sweet-averse, it can sometimes be a bit too sweet and sticky. It seems to be best at night right after a shower and in cooler weather for me. On stickier days a dab of something greener like Diptyque's Eau Rose can counter. On good days it's really magical on its own though. There are also days when there's more of like a soft plastic doll smell, which is also kind of fun.

I don't know what kind of sorcery they did on this fragrance, but it's the only rose-dominant fragrance that doesn't give me a headache. I'm usually very sensitive to rose smells and the fact that I'm raving about a perfume (and in EDP concentration!) called 'Bloom of Rose' is blowing my mind right now! Elegant, classy, romantic, feminine, sophisticated – Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose EDP is exquisite and nothing short of a masterpiece. The rose notes are present but not overpowering, and they complement the signature vanilla–lavender combo of the Mon Guerlain line. The lavender is really soft but it's definitely there, although it may be difficult to pinpoint it immediately if you're not super used to the smell of lavender. I absolutely love the pear note in this – it's juicy, bright and absolutely delicious. Very versatile, I can see people of all ages wearing this. It would suit university and the workplace just as well as it would a black-tie event. I also thought for sure this would be a spring–summer scent, but I sprayed this on in December just to use up a sample I had and I found it very comforting – and it got me a compliment from two doctors, HAH! 😉 I'm a big fan of the bottle too – the red trim around the cap is stunning, and I feel like it complements the juice (which is slightly peachier compared with the original) way more than the gold in the original Mon Guerlain. The price is absolutely bonkers here in Europe (€133 in shops!), but do give Ebay a look – I found my 100 mL bottle (unsprayed) for €50 and I'm over the moon! Just make sure it's a reputable seller with LOADS of positive reviews. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE from me!

I've wanted a perfume from the Mon Guerlain line since I bought a mini set of several a while back but I got distracted w/ other purchases. A big mistake on my part. I decided to buy the Bloom of Rose eau de parfum instead of the other 3 I tested because I love roses and I thought more roses w/ this DNA was a safe bet to make and I wasn't wrong. I am sorry they have discontinued this and I may pick up a backup bottle since my husband is very enthusiastic about the house of Guerlain and this perfume in particular. Bloom of Rose, the name says it all. This perfume is the freshest roses mingling next to a field of lavender. Thank heavens the vanilla does not over dominate here. I find this very floral which I prefer. The pear note here is absolutely spot on perfect and blends perfectly w/ the other notes and compliments the lavender and rose. I find this a warm weather only perfume myself, but I can see it being worn in fall as well. Damn, I think Guerlain has me hooked on their creations. If you love rose/lavender combination in perfumes like I do (I think they go together brilliantly) I highly recommend getting a bottle of this before they are all gone.

Roses done right! I have the EDT but this is much preferred. I absolutely love the Roses here. Upon first spritz I smell Roses and Citrus. So uplifting and elegant. I am smitten. Then I start to detect the Lavender which is not overdone adding a botanical lift. As Bloom of Rose EDP develops the Pear adds some sweet fruit which is quite welcome. I also smell some Jasmine as a compliment and it is lovely. But mostly I smell Roses. The Vanilla is a nice balance to the Floral and Fruit notes as well. It is not too pronounced but it is there in true Guerlainian fashion. Tasteful and elegant. On the drydown the Sandalwood becomes more obvious and it is gorgeous. It helps to ground this outstanding floral composition. The Patchouli is very light but detectable in this stage as well. I am in complete nirvana. Long lasting on me with moderate sillage. A new beauty for the Mon Guerlain line. Oui! Oui! C'est un cadeau! Je l'adore. Bien joue'! Merci beaucoup Monsier Wasser et Madame Jelk.

A crisp and lovely green rose over a sweet lavender vanilla base--and yet it really doesn't remind me of the original Mon Guerlain, and if this wasn't marketed as a flanker, they could have easily sold it under another name. I think this would be better suited to daytime and warm weather--it's lighter and less distinctive than OG Mon Guerlain, but it's a beautiful balance of fine ingredients, and the fact that it isn't as readily identifiable as Mon Guerlain, whose only flaw is that she is so popular as to register as basic to some (snobs), means that people are more likely to associate it with you, not with you and their sister's best friend and their mom and their boss and their least favorite niece. This reminds me a bit of a less patchouli-centric LVEB en Rose and also a bit of Rose Rouge by Van Cleef and Arpels. Again, it's not particularly distinctive, but if it works with your chemistry it's refreshing, elegant, and pretty as hell.

Bloom of Rose EdP has defenitly the DNA of the EdT, which I like a lot. In my opinion it's 70-80% resemblance, why I want to compare them. The opening is less harsh and rounder than the EdT. Sometimes (especially when it's cold) the EdT has some kind of artificial / plastic note - the EdP still has it, but not so strong and longlasting. I find it more intense, dense and less airy but without being cloying or overly thick. I has a hint of sweetness in the base. Fortunately it's not heavy on vanilla. The projection is better than the EdT moderate maybe even heavy. I lasts at least 8+ hours. The price is heavy: 70€ for 30ml at Douglas (Germany). Since I own the EdT, which I love in spring and summer, I wouldn't buy it at the full price. Maybe in fall when the price isn't that high anymore.

I weared it yesterday all day long, this rose has a similar scent like the red rose "Parfum de Honfleur" in my garden with, for my nose a ghost of the first Shalimar I loved when I had it in the past, a delicate patchouli memory under the rose. I recognized this also in Mon guerlain, in a stronger way. I prefer blossom rose. A few months after: It seems that time , gives, after months, a good effect on the scent inside a opened bottle, and this scent gives a so sweet rose in the day of this spring weather, a rose without any headache. A scent I wear at the end of the day like a relaxing afterwork scent.

It's Mon Guerlain with less lavendar more rose and a pear, and it smells so beautiful for a rose lover like myself. It's not powdery, which for me, is what makes a rose smell dated. Bought a backup bottle since FragranceNet has already sold out and they have been cutting the MG flankers like they want us to have to scramble to save them up like squirrels collecting acorns for a long winter. It so annoying how many best selling flankers they have cut from the Mon line.

First of all, this is absolutely beautiful! It really reminds me of something, some perfume but I can’t figure out what! About fragrance, I can just say it smells like what you would smell at a perfume store . Just that gorgeous feminine inviting scent! I get a little bit more lavender when this dries down. But I think if original has too much lavender to your liking then this will be the mon guerlain for you ! Xx

I absoluteley adore this perfume. It has such a balanced composition. Soft but very well rounded and unique. The roses are detectabile but not big and bold, they are white and pink roses mixed with lavander, lots of lavander, sandal wood, a touch of vanilla and only a tiny drop of bergamot to give it a little uplifting sparkle. Perfect for spring and summer. Elegance in a bottle.

This exquisite perfume gave me a romantic compliment from my friend. There is no doubt that it first shows the guerlinade, like a slightly powdery mist around a rose that blooms and reveals its perfume. Then exhales, for hours on end, a divine musical note on your skin.

Just received a sample. On me it opens quite chypre-ish with noticeble bergamot, as if there was Mon Guerlain Chypre version. Not too strong, really beautiful and classy. Definitely like from me.

This is very elegant. Perfect for the spring and summer. This is not a all year round scent. I think it’s best suitable in the hot weather. Very similar to Bloom of Rose EDT only the Rose is amped way up. This is very much a Rose dominate fragrance; like a fresh cut rose with stem and all. To me this smells nothing like the pilar Mon Guerlain. I smell no lavender, no jasmine or vanilla. I mainly smell rose with a hint of pear and bergamot. The longer it’s in your skin the better it gets. To me imagine you are in a garden full of all kinds of roses with waterfalls all around. And because there are so many roses, petals are all over the ground from when the wind picks them up; a lot smashed and because those petals are getting stepped on and crushed and it’s leaving a aroma of powdered soapy rose petals along with the smell of water from the waterfalls. That’s how this smells. Sillage and longevity are excellent! I can’t wait to try this in the spring and summer! Elegant and classy. Very well done generic floral, late 30s, 40s wealthy women’s fragrance. Old money-ish vibe. Guerlainade smell. The EDT and EDP versions are very different as other fragranticas also noticed. Beware. The EDT is citrusy; the rose here is nice but somewhat cold and tangy- lacking Guerlain warmth. I agree with others saying EDT has no similarity to the original, even though it is a flanker. I bought EDP version after testing EDT and making guess on how EDP would smell. On my first sniff I found EDP to be very close to the original, right the same lavender-combo smell. I regretted buying because I already own the original EDP, and find lavender-combo heavy a bit. I expected roses to dilute this heaviness. After a while the fragrance projected roses, that are inseparably blended with the lavender-vanille. Pretty smell, elegant. I think Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose EDP and Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet ( 2014) have the same vibe. They are both very elegant fragrances. Just not groundbreaking, or different. Safe bets of wealthy women.

The perfect easy-grab, everyday rose semi-sweet freshie! I absolutely love it! I’ve tried and had many contenders, including Delina, Chanel Chance Eau Tendre, Chanel Paris-Paris and others, but I’ve slowly but surely decluttered them all, because they just weren’t “IT”. Well, Bloom of Rose EDP is it! And I’m so sad they discontinued this! It has the perfect balance of fresh vs. sweet, rose-centered, but not overpowering with rose, it’s very well balanced. I also have Eau Rose from Diptyque and that one’s a completely different rose, although it’s still a fresh rose. Where Eau Rose is a full on rose, stems and thorns and all, and might be offensive to someone disliking this note, MG Bloom of Rose is a perfect girly rose, without it being too juvenile, but also not vintage at all, without it being too sweet, but it’s not green either! Great perfume, perfectly balanced, nothing screechy in it (as I smell in Delina), nothing juvenile about it (as I would be tempted to say about Chance Eau Tendre). If you’re a rose lover, it’s a must have!

I read a recent Fragrantica article reviewing this fragrance and I thought, how in the world could someone come up with such a different experience of this EDP version of Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose? I realized I'd only tried it on my skin, and out of curiosity this morning I sprayed it on a test strip and on my skin and the results were very different. On the test strip, it was sweet, full PEAR, lots of fruity, syrupy, pear with jammy rose. On my skin, it's COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! It pretty immediately turns into a powdery, soft, round, citrus rose. This rose feels more traditional than the EDT version, there's lots of powder, it's certainly not at all jammy. It does have a veil of dry and non-sweet vanilla and jasmine, and it almost smells a little play doughy, just just slightly. It still doesn't smell very reminiscent of the original Mon Guerlain. Longevity and sillage is fairly strong on my skin.

Bought this today without testing it on my skin and i have to say it wasn’t one of my best decisions. Pretty expensive, despite getting it in duty free. On the paper, it smelled more rosy and oriental with a bit of an edge to it. On me it’s very fruity and linear and smells exactly like Miss Dior Cherie EDP, which i wore 10 or so years ago and don’t like anymore. I realize now that most of the notes are the same. Overall, i think it would suit someone younger, 20 to 30 years old, definitely a spring/day fragrance. Sillage and longevity are good, but it’s so generic and similar to what’s been put out on the market lately, that you won’t turn heads. Guerlain, I am not impressed.

Decent quality scent that lacks any personality. Should not happen for the biggest houses. They should create trends that the public can appreciate or grow into, not just sell to the masses that should buy fragrances in the drug store. Money. Money will be short term if they will simplify the formulas as much and make them too pop. I can smell lavender-vanilla, pear and jasmin + bergamot. Rose does not appear during wintertime and I expected big red rose in the EDP version. I will revisit in the spring, but for now - my least fav of the Mon Guerlain line.

I love love love this perfume. I hope this flanker stays in market forever. So many people loves this on me and asks what it is that I'm wearing. I don't like original at all. I like fresher scents like floral perfumes usually, but this is so yummy and beautiful, maybe because it has less vanilla or something. I wonder comments like Guerlain should never do perfumes like this etc. I love many Guerlain's perfumes, actually it's my favourite house. If you don't like it, somebody else can do.

I would say this perfume retained about 50% of the alluring Mon Guerlain EDP DNA: lavender, jasmine, vanilla and sandal wood. But on the top of those, there is the added prettiness and elegance from rose... and I do also smell a bit of white flower (orange blossom maybe). Overall a more feminine and vibrant composition, compared to the original (which gives a sexy, comforting, vanillic vibe). I enjoy them both.

Very fresh rose, reminds me a bit of Jo Malone Red Roses in that it doesn’t come off powdery at all and is more like an actual rose as opposed to rose water. I see a lot of people comparing this to Idôle but I don’t find them to be similar really. I don’t get the lavender at all and I agree with those who say this doesn’t smell like Mon Guerlain. I like it but I wouldn’t repurchase it.

having mon guerlain in my favourites line up, i blind bought 100ml bloom of rose edp thinking i could absolutely love this. well, i would if i could but i just cant smell it. i'm sure others can but there's not much point if i cant. i wear fragrances for me and get annoyed when i have anosmia to a scent. grrrr.

It was my successful blind purchase. I like roses and rose scent is quite prominent here. Otherwise the perfume is floral, fresh, pleasant and elegant. It's office friendly and appropriate especially for spring and summer.

On my skin this is more of a sweeter version of Florabotanica by balenciaga. Fresh, vanilla, minty, pear and rose . Really like it but i feel like i just could have mixed the og mon guerlain with florabotanica.

Good and aromatic, pairs well with the lavender and vanilla, but nothing outstanding.

This perfume smells like my mum

To me, this is a citrus rose. I don't get the pear. The vanilla and lavender remain quite muted from beginning till end. It is a sharp zesty bergamot with a beautifully done rose. Because of the low dose of sweet notes, it smells rather dry to me. It is a refreshing fragrance that I can only enjoy in the warm weather. It is otherwise too citrusy for the other weathers. It is quite linear. There is some soapiness to it. You have to like roses to enjoy this one. Edit: I started wearing in during winter time and I must take it back. While in the summer it feels very zesty and summery, in the winter it smelled more rose-heavy, powdery and thick. Still slightly soapy, but comforting enough to be worn on a gloomy day. I can't explain it, but it works year round.

i received a sample of this in a package i ordered, i picked it out since i’m looking for a new signature rose scent and have heard such good things about the original mon guerlain. i expected a heady, creamy rose from the pear, vanilla and patchouli. after trying it out, i have to say this is best described as a combination of every nude-y pink, mainstream fragrance on the market at the moment. think LVEB, sì, chloé etc... this reminds me of a newly married woman, very elegant and well rounded. it’s a very safe bet, a little too safe for me but i can imagine most people not being opposed to it.

Decent longevity, very sweet with top notes which drown out everything else, IMO. At first I really loved this, especially in hot weather, but recently it has grown a bit too sickly sweet and artificial smelling; friend said it smelled like bug spray. Lacks the elegance and depth I'd expect of Guerlain, but I don't (always) hate it.

I love the original Mon Guerlain EDP, but I regret blind buying this flanker. Although it has decent lasting power, the actual scent is just a “run-of-the-mill” watery rose. Surprisingly bland coming from my favorite perfume house. The “florale” flanker is much nicer.

Meh. This isn't nearly as nice as Florale or the original. The concept is good, but execution not so much. It should be marketed as an EDT, lasting power is maybe 2 hours.

I can't believe that this is a flanker of MG! I don't detect any similaritys at all. It's not a bad perfume but it smells very generic imo.

This is one of those "I love the fresh floral opening but hate the stuffy dry down" kind of scent to me. I emphasise that it is like that for me, I am not saying someone else smells stuffy wearing this. I like my perfumes either fresh or soft and sweet. The opening is dewy morning roses.. the dry down is too heavy to my taste. My son said immediately after I came home that I smell like "bank of England", my family is used to my crispy, fresh scents. It's a quality perfume, stays long on my skin and projects well. This is how the entrance of a fancy department store smells like. Expensive, refined. Just not my cup of tea.

This one reminded me of some perfume too, and later I figured which one. It reminds me of Laura by Laura Biagotti.

A new more sensual and more lively version with more ROSE but with a sweet and elegant twist. The opening is still fresh and bright but a looot more fruitier which is the pear and some red berries (I can clearly smell them) mixed with bergamot and the rose is def.there. In the heart the 2 type of roses dominates (turkish rose absolute & bulgarian rose) along with the almost watery jasmine sambac note and of course the aromatic levander which is not too strong but it's still there. The Bloom of Rose edt DNA is there but it's a lot more sweeter and elegant,not that soapy fresh more like a flower-sweet fresh. The vanilla is not stickly sweet it just add a sophisticated charm and elegance. The patchouli add spicyness and earthiness,and it's just sooo goood OMG 😍 It's in the same vein as LVEB En Rose but fresher and more aromatic (thanks to the levander) If I have to choose from EDT & EDP I will choose the new EDP because it's more sweet and sensual,it has more soul and depth & keep the freshness without be soapy. Longevity and sillage is normal,it last a good amount of time. I highly recommend to try it ,it's absolutely amaaazing.

It's not a dramatic shift, but it does become more comforting and smooth the longer I wear it. In terms of performance, it tends to be strongest in the first couple of hours after applying—especially when it’s cooler. After that, it becomes more of a skin scent, particularly in warm or humid weather. You may still catch soft wafts of it throughout the day, but it’s more personal than projecting. It’s very easy to wear—feminine, light, and versatile. Whether you're wearing it to the office, out during the day, or even in the evening for something a little softer and more elegant, it fits in naturally without ever feeling too much.

Tested on skin on a very warm day. At first the rose seemed too green and too dry for my liking, then it was too linear. But then I couldn't stop smelling the air around me and it was so familiar, comforting and beautiful, like something from my childhood...Maybe the sandalwood in the base, I can't put my finger on it! I see I'm not the only one, so I wonder if maybe the base is similar to an older Guerlain?.. I had tested Mon Guerlain EDP on my other wrist, and it smelled quite strongly of honey, but the sillage of Bloom of Rose still somehow covered it, not by being louder but more persistent somehow. I have to add they are very different, they should have released this one under a separate name and not as a flanker, in my opinion... I am adding this to my wishlist, I was sure I'd like the vanilla Mon Guerlain better, but surprisingly Bloom of Rose wins!

This is the only flanker from the Mon Guerlain line that suits me. MG eau de toilette still too strong for me let alone the original. Too sweet, too cloying. Bloom of Rose eau de toilette is too weak and has hardly any sillage, so for me the eau de parfum could be good. It has the Guerlinade I so much love and so much want to own. This one opens with beautiful citrus and the Guerlain touch, then very quickly it gets soft and rosy. Drydown is beautifully modest but still there. I really hope this one will last. I has slight similarities with Coco Noir by Chanel, especially in the soft rosy drydown. Beautiful complex perfume, love it. Longevity could be a bit better but I really prefer this one to the OG. Hope to have this one in my collection soon...

Old school rose (the kind of rose that you'll find in Rose Barbare, also from Guerlain) combined with the Mon Guerlain DNA. Very floral but with a bit of sweetness. The lavender is well-blended and doesn't take over, it's elegant and perfect for daily wear, work or a date. Love the spring/summer fresh vibes. It's more sophisticated than you might think, it doesn't have a juvenile touch that a lot of other floral-sweet perfumes have (even in luxury brands). It's discontinued, but I still have a sealed bottle if someone is interested

It's so different from the original MG that I thought I had bought a fake perfume.. I really like original MG as well as the Intense version, I live in Bulgaria and I adore the scent of rose oil too, but with this perfume.. we just can't seem to get along. On my skin it lasts only about 3 hours. It's most suitable for springtime. If you like rose scents, you'll probably like it. I don't perceive anything else besides rose and a bit of citrus anyway. I don't think it's a safe blind buy unlike the original MG.

This is the first from the Mon Guerlain’s that is not a close reinterpretation of the original Mon Guerlain or Mon Exclusive. Which is fine, if you have spent your money buying all of them and realized they are almost identical. However it does have a generic flowery dry down, the kind that will make you feel cosy in the morning and won’t offend anyone at work. Lovely and feminine, not on the gourmand side, but the classy, simple and clean one.

I wanted to love this as I adoreeee the OG MG. Opens really fresh and light and rose shampoo vibes (which I enjoy) but very quickly I’m overcome with the smell of dish soap. Nice dish soap but still dish soap and just an overall generic feel. To me this is NOT related to the original MG AT ALL. Zero. Not a blind buy. I can see the similarities to Lancôme Idole. Also it doesn’t matter how you feel about it as it’s gone within the hour.

I tasted it probably a couple of weeks ago. Saturated scent of bulgarian roses plus a bit pear, a bit lavender; fragrance is heavy, rounded, evening, sounds more individual, but it does not iridescents as EDT. In the EDP version the character of the fragrance read is better, it is remembered. Personally, i did miss roses &it's nice to see them return to the trend.

This one was an impulsive purchase. It has notes of rose, pear, lavender, vanilla, sandalwood, and patchouli. While it’s nice, it just lacks that special something to make it a favourite for me ... The rose here has a retro vibe, i dont enjoy it ... it feels a bit too generic. Not a bad fragrance, but just not the one for me. – Bhavna Darira Chesan

Looks like I might like this one more than the EDT. I don't dislike the EDT (it actually reminds me of Giorgio Beverly Hills somehow, although much lighter) but the neroli in it ultimately irks me. With no neroli in sight here, I'm more encouraged to give this one a sniff.

Like it since it has the same Bond no 9 West Side boozy rose, but also has the same poor longevity and silage that one does. So, It's a dud IMO. I've yet to find a Mon Guerlain flanker I like as much as the original. I wonder what they'll do with it next.

I found it that this has more lavender and very less vanilla that the MG original, which brings more freshness, airy , softness. At first it was in some way kind of challenge for me, now when is almost done I like a lot, I won't repurchase though.

Well, this is Armani Si Passione with a twist. Nothing outstanding, just nice and safe. Had some high hopes and expectations after the wonderful, gorgeous and sexy Mon Guerlain Intense. Nice and cosy, but not worthing the price tag.
