Mon Guerlain Eau de Toilette

I am a huge fan of the Mon Guerlain line, but the original EdP is my least favorite of the bunch so far because of how heavy it can feel in warmer weather or in small spaces like cars... I find it way too easy to overdo that one. The Florale WAS my favorite until I recently decided to add a 30ml bottle of the EdT to my collection. Because summer is coming and I was in serious need of a new thing to sniff. I am typically not a fan of citrusy scents; they frequently feel like they are piercing my sinuses or just remind me of cleaning supplies. And I was a little leery of this perfume because of that, but it is nothing like the fresh citrusy scents I am used to smelling. I don't think the first descriptor here should be "citrus" at all. Citrus is there for sure, but it dissipates within the first half hour and what is left is a light, gentle breeze of warm caramel and flowers (I think the placement of the lavender in this notes pyramid is accurate for sure, as that is the strongest). I do get some resin here too, which I love. And the citrus perhaps remains to lighten the powderiness and weight of some of those flowers and sweets, but it is not prominent at all. And it is never sharp. My partner is a great fan of fresh citrusy scents and hardly ever comments on my perfumes because I tend to go for the orientals. But he did comment on this. He said I smelled like a delicious candy. And even my mom commented on how great I smelled when we visited her recently and she also hardly ever compliments my choice of perfume. Both of these comments came many hours after I had stopped being able to detect any of this EdT on myself, so that goes to show you that longevity here is likely much better than we think. It does seem quite strong for an EdT, especially when first sprayed, but that could be due to the fact that Guerlain sprayers are generous with their output. Ultimately, this was a very wordy way of saying I love this warm, delicate veil of sweetness and I love that it seems to last quite well. Thrilled with this line for sure.

I really, really love Mon Guerlain EDT. It is brighter, cleaner, clearer. I think this is why Mon Guerlain EDP loyalists mistake it as being simple: many people have a notion that "cleaned up" flankers lose the complexity of the original. I am by no means a minimalist, but there is nothing ordinary about MG EDT to me. The first very noticeable difference between this and its EDP predecessor is the pulling back of caramel to let the citrus, flowers, and lavender through. That alone makes this more ideal for the height of summer here in the southern hemisphere (and the reason why I bought this first). I do love the EDP just as much, but I can see that I will get more immediate mileage from the EDT, given my circumstances. While the toning down of the gourmand does let the lavender through, that is not to say that the lavender in EDT is more prominent. In fact, it smells less rounded, more effervescent, which most likely works best in this formulation. It seems that Mon Guerlain EDP was created to appeal to the mass market, going down the fruity-floral-sweet route that is so popular with the trendy set these days. Mon Guerlain EDT may have been created as a sort of alter ego for the same demographic, specifically for ones who are not partial to gourmand scents. Buy the EDT if you liked the EDP, but you couldn't bring yourself to buy it because it is too mainstream for you. I find EDT definitely less like other current releases, and (I'll go out on a limb here) I think may even go the longer distance in terms of sales through time and trends. That being said, while it is less popular among today's die-hard perfumistas, I think it has more potential to become a classic.

I’ve been holding off my review because I just didn’t quite know what to make of it. I LOVE the original EDP, but it is so oily that it breaks me out. That was a devastating realization. As an EDT, I expected this to be lighter and it is. Given the notes and reviews, I expected to fall madly in love at first sniff. I didn’t. I was disappointed. I purchased it in December at about the same time I purchased the Intense version (also a huge love). As you can see, I was desperate to find a decent replacement for the EDP. Now, I have EDP, EDT, Intense, and Sensualle. I have smelled Bloom of Rose (not my favorite) and Florale (quite nice). All of them are different in their own way. None is a clone for the other. I wouldn’t mind a full army of Mon Guerlian standing guard on my dresser waiting to lead me into the battles of life. On the the EDT, it has MG EDP DNA without as much vanilla and tons of citrus. It lighter and brighter. Seems to last just as long on me. Pardon my comparison here. It’s like the dryer sheet version of MG. Clean, fresh, floral. Sillage is a little longer than arms length. For me, it’s best on a warmer and humid day. While it was a “like” in the cold, it is “love” in the heat. I’m fortunate in that I can experience multiple seasons of weather in the winter. It’s a rare day when I actually need a coat and gloves. If you have a climate like me, this could be a year round fragrance. Otherwise, keep it for spring and summer. If you don’t love mandarin and orange blossom though, this might not work for you.

Ooh I really like this! Tried it from a sample for the last few days and now I'm craving it. It's indeed similar to mon guerlain edp, which I love but seem to be anosmic to some days. I discovered that less is more with both of them, that's the way I can mostly enjoy them myself for several hours. Just one spray at the side of my neck does the trick for me. When I use more, I can smell it less. The citrus notes makes this edt feel a little lighter. Call me and my nose crazy, but yesterday it strongly reminded me of another scent. I couldn't think of what it was, but after some thinking I could grab my memory of it; it reminded me of miss dior ( I think the 2017 version). It wasn't in the first stage (that made me think a little of lavender soap), but towards the dry down I got the association. I don't understand how, but it just did. Sillage and longevity were moderate on me A few days later when I smelled the spray nozzle of my sample it made me think of 2 other perfumes; shalimar souffle de parfum and givenchy ange ou demon le secredt edt. I knew about the citrus note in this one, but didn't know about the jasmin. When I looked at the notes here I saw that they all 3 contain citrus and jasmin. They don't smell the same ofcourse, but I liked it that I could recognize something familiar

Mon Guerlain EDT was my first Guerlain fragrance ever. I found a 1 oz bottle for $24.99 at Marshall's last fall and something about it was calling me to pick it up and so I did. From the first spray the scent triggered a memory of when I was younger and my cousin had her first baby and I would be with her and help her with her newborn baby during bath time. I think she used a product, maybe a baby wash or lotion that had a similar scent note, and it's probably the lavender. But I could smell the memory of the whole experience, even the newborn smell and even the scent of a mother lactating, I believe. It was bizarre and I had never experienced anything like that with a fragrance, at least not that intense, and since then Guerlain became my favorite house. Anyway, as for the EDT I wore it as a bedtime scent. It opened really spicy and aromatic. At first I used to smell the freshness of the lavender, but then it started to smell like pink peppers and even a little like bug spray at one point. The middle was a creamy jasmine and the base was my favorite. I mostly got a sweet vanilla and caramel but powdery and a little anamalic orris root. It was a little buttery and lactonic but also powdery and violet flowers fresh. Loved it!

So beautiful and well blended! One of those that I blind bought because it was a good price and I wanted to try during lockdown. I am so happy I did and plan to get a large bottle of the EDP next because I'm sure I will use this up very quickly. To me it smells like the best of Chanel Chance and Chanel Coco Mademoiselle put together with a bit of Chanel Coco or YSL Opium in there. Personally Chance doesn't sit right on my skin and I used to wear Coco Mad' but grew tired of it so I am happy this reminds me of those. I actually like this a lot more and it's more affordable! Beautiful blend of lavender, jasmine, lilac and vanilla for me with no notes standing out and everything blended seamlessly together. Very feminine and pretty scent that could be for day or night and could most definitely be a signature scent. I wouldn't wear it to a club but clubs are closed here so it's the perfect fragrance for right now while I'm only chilling at home or going to buy groceries. Crowd pleasing and comforting with a grown up elegance that comes across as very refined and put together. I can't wear this with a tracksuit, it needs more feminine silhouettes. Matches wool jumpers and silk shirts very well!

First impression I get a blast of lavender that quickly dissipates and then I get the lovely citrus notes, then the vanilla starts coming through. This is all around stunning I am in love! Personally not usually a lavender lover so I bought this on a whim hoping to like it but expecting that I probably wouldn't but I went for it and I am over the moon. This has a lovely elegance and radiance to it.This is also my first Guerlain fragrance and I will certainly be trying the OG Mon Guerlain next. I believe this is a safe blind buy. A lovely well balanced perfume suitable for any age. I must also add this is the only perfume I have in my vast collection that I can smell virtually every note and I get the notes in order top, middle then base. This is fabulous my new fav already ordering a back up because I heard this was discontinued such a shame. I had to update this review I am absolutely obsessed with this to the point its my new signature scent ! I wanted to reserve this as my future wedding scent but I love it too much and I must wear this on a daily. Ive already bought 2 back ups and I will continue to buy more because I never want to be without this.

I haven't had the chance to test the new Intense version yet, but so far, this edt is my favorite out of the line! It has an airiness and freshness that the edp lacks imo. I fell in love with Mon Guerlain edp when it was first released but I could not purchase it straight away and had to save for it for a couple months...in those couple months my taste changed from loving super sweet sugary scents to almost not being able to stomach them! So by the time I could purchase it, unfortunately Mon Guerlain edp was simply too sweet for me. Luckily, this edt was released and I purchased this one instead. Sadly the sillage and longevity are not that great but the scent is heavenly. I always envision fluffy pink clouds that smell like powdered vanilla marshmallows over a field of lavender when I smell this. The sweetness from the caramel and the vanilla are perfectly balanced against the refreshing citrus and the fresh-spicy aromatic lavender. I feel like the edt is more floral than the edp as well. If you find the edp too much or too sweet or too heavy, give this one a try! You might be surprised! Overall, a great fragrance! <3

Just picked this up and really love it so far! I haven't smelled the other MG's, but now I am interested. This starts off pretty herbal to me. The lavender with the citrus notes almost reminds me of essential oils and comes off a little masculine smelling, but in a good way. As it settles, the jasmine and vanilla come out more and it sweetens up. In the dry down, the vanilla and caramel linger on my skin the longest and it's just beautiful! It almost reminds me of Dior Poison Girl EDT after they've both been on for a few hours. These aren't able to be substitutes for each other by any means, but if you like the dry down of Poison Girl EDT, I think you would like this too. As for longevity, this EDT lasts great. Even after I stopped smelling it on myself, I got a compliment on it! I can't wait to wear this in warmer weather and out and about. This feels like a safe office scent as it lasts a while but isn't overdone with projection. Being in my early 20s, it feels a bit mature, but definitely still wearable. I feel sophisticated, put together, and pretty in this.

I broke my own record in pressing the LOVE button here :D It can take me up to a year sometimes.. And it beats me why this was taken away so quickly! It's absolutely gorgeous! I love Mon Guerlain EDP and I didn't really feel like venturing in any of the flankers, out of content with it let's say. But I saw this being discounted and discontinued, so went ahead. I find this very different from the EDP, I get a Beautiful Jasmine, Citrus and Lavender at the start, then gradually it moves to the Balsamic Vanilla, Benzoin Caramel and Orris (not as heavy as the EDP as there's no Tonka). The dry down is Shalimar-esque. From beginning to end this is not the same as the EDP at all for me. The similarity I see is in how the perfume develops, just like the EDP it glides from Light to Dark (just not as dark) - I actually think Angelina is the perfect face for this line because of this mixture of light and darkness. Definitely more suitable for warmer weather than EDP, but it would work great for any season. It has it's weight and performs well. LOVE it, Really Gorgeous!

I love this smell so much. The opening is a beautiful citrusy lavender, but after around 30 minutes the gentle middle notes begin to come through and eventually the dry down/base notes smell turn this into a sweet vanilla creamy floral scent. The only thing I absolutely hate is the longevity. I can’t say how sad I am that the longevity is so crap... I reapply this so frigging much throughout the day just to be able to remotely catch whiffs of it. Thankfully I bought this for around $75 which is a complete steal where I’m from. Though I guess you can’t expect much because it is an EDT. Also, I think I prefer the smell of this to the EDP because it smells more fresh. Love the smell, hate the longevity. Mixed feelings I guess. EDIT: i last reviewed and wore this in the winter, and after trying it in the summer heat - i can confidently say that this is meant to be worn in the SUMMER/HEAT ONLY. Lasts about 30 mins in the winter, and 4+ hours in the summer. So so so good.

This is a sweet, soft, fresh BALANCED blend. It does also feel like a "farmer's market" kind of scent, which I absolutely adore. Very airy and outdoorsy, with familiar notes. It's not thick, syrupy or super similar to MG EDP, they're different fragrances, and although I could live in the EDP, I think this is easier to get by in. Whoever coined the term "dumb reach" is wrong; having a few easy and accessible fragrances isn't dumb at all. This is one of them. I get some licorice that isn't listed, but I think it's the effect of lavender mixing with the caramel and vanilla. The citruses are very lovely, but not exotic. The benzoin surprisingly isn't discernable to me, they must have included very little of it indeed. Without it though, this stays quite fresh, although I suspect the sillage would've been better if it was stronger. The florals are very blended, and neither the jasmine, violet or ylang ylang jut out. Kind of the perfect trio.

I have a bottle of this beauty at least five years old and it ages so well. I'm always afraid for citrus based fragrances because they can go bad pretty fast but this one is still amazing. It opens up with sharp lavender note supported by citruses and it stays sharp and bright throughout it's duration. It isn't linear, half hour into the wear caramel starts appearing through strong lavender and and your get a bit of that recognisable Guerlinade in the background. It never lose it's brightness and loudness for as long as I can smell it on myself. Somehow it manages to stay strong enough in projection for the long time I think it outperforms Og, at least my bottle of my skin. It is following aesthetics od L initial. It has that initial sharpness followed by caramelized Guerlinade. It has same level od sophistication and lightness accomplished by different notes. It's a breath of freshness and brightness. For me it's a love.

The true rendition of Jicky! They said Mon Guerlain is inspired by Jicky, but until the EDT I just didn’t get it. The citrus (mostly dirty bergamot) & lavender burst in the top notes is the same, but instead of going into the dandy territory, MG EDT takes the ladylike route of florals and sweets. Mandarine takes over followed by orange blossom ( which is heavy on my skin and it lends a salty aquatic vibe ) in the middle phase. Actually, the heart of MG EDT reminds me strongly of Opium Vapeurs de parfum, but the Mon Guerlain vanilla (different from the Shalimar vanilla present in Jicky) always lurks in the background, only to intensify and dominate the drydown. I am surprised by this EDT, I find it more complex and challenging than the EDP. The Jickyness is definitely here, while the original is modern, sweet and bears no resemblance with the masterpiece which inspired it. A shame it was discontinued, really...

I am pleasantly surprised. I received this as a sample from sephora and decided to try it one morning. I feel guilty to compare but it smells similar to chanel chance eau tendre which has been on my mind lately. I love how mon guerlain smells with body chemistry. It has great longevity even though it sits close to the skin but in a refreshing way. A few extra sprays wouldn't hurt. So of course I quickly picked up a bottle online. Imagine my horror when I realised it was the EDT I sampled but purchased the EDP. I will review the EDP when it arrives but I have to say I am disappointed because the EDT is charming, lovely, feminine. The Tahitian vanilla and benzoin upon dry down isn't a gourmand its kept fresh by the mandarin and lavender notes and florally feminine with jasmine, blended to perfection. It has so many notes I love. No wonder I fell in love. longevity - moderate sillage - soft to moderate

I almost loved Mon Guerlain Eau de Parfum, but it was too heavy for my tastes, so when I saw that the eau de toilette was on clearance, I risked a blind buy hoping it would be just right. I am VERY happy! It's much lighter. It's still sweet, but it's more of a powdery sweetness instead of an oppressing sweetness. It reminds me of YSL Libre, but classier and more sophisticated. It's gentle light falling on toe shoes as a young woman ties the ribbons for ballet class. It's a perfect pretty spring scent. I am noticing that a lot of the negative reviews are coming from people who love the EdP. That's not at all surprising; I find that when I am accustomed to a stronger concentration of a perfume, it's much harder to appreciate a lighter version of it! It's like all you can smell is what's missing. Having never grown accustomed to the EdP, however, I adore the EdT for what it has to offer 🙂

I snatched up a big bottle when Macy's had them heavily discounted during the holiday season. It was a rare blind buy, since I'm drawn to the Mon Guerlain line but found the EDP too heavy for me. I wanted something I could wear every day, rather than a "special occasion" perfume. I took a chance, and I'm glad I did. I've had the EDT for several months now, and it's become a favorite. From winter to spring, so far it's gotten a lot of mileage. I feel like it's truly versatile, and can be worn in any season. In very cold weather you might not find it strong enough, but for mild winter days it's fine. It truly shines now, in the spring. Something about the warm (not yet hot), wet air brings this to life. It is pretty and uplifting, the dreamy vanilla dry down is my favorite part. So beautiful. Shame it's been discontinued.

This is my favorite of the line, easily. I find it more intense than Intense, with more layers and nuance than the EdP (neither of those are bad, but I still have a preference. While this is more an orange blossom fragrance, the other notes listed basically are right on the money. The benzoin and caramel make it pretty sweet; but not immediately noticeable unless you take in a big whiff. It's also then when you smell heaven. Vanilla and jasmine are next. Comforting,! I don't really detect much lavender, if at all. It's like SJP Lovely in that it's apparently a lavender scent but I dont smell it. Doesn't change my mind about the scent being great. Try if you like: Ellie Saab Le Parfum, SJP Lovely, Coco Mademoiselle (not saying these are dupes bc they're not, they're just a starting point that may new help

Mon Guerlain EDT is my second favorite from the line (after Intense). This is a refreshing, well done formula of Mon Guerlain. I just loved the creativity in it. Opening Is fresh and cheerful from the citruses, mandarine makes it special and gives a special twist. Jasmin spices the fragrance perfectly. Later lavender and caramel starts appearing, getting stronger, but still softer than in the mother scent. Later it settles to a creamy vanilla with a touch of lavender. Even though marked as EDT, it’s longevity rivals and beats many EDPs, specifically the Florale EDP big time (10 hrs as an average!). I’m very disappointed that it has been discontinued, it is a perfect summer version of the original. It is also better for the ones liked the original but found the lavender or sweetness too strong.

Sorry but this is the best perfume I ever have. I tried the edp it's good but it's too smooth unlike the edt it has a citrus vibe on it. The dry down is heavenly addictive. Idk but I've bought how many perfumes now? I still can't get enough of this one! I always compare this to my newly bought perfumes but nothin beats the mg edt. Idk how to explain how it smells but whenever I use this one I feel relaxed / soft and it's like I am over the clouds. It lasts 4-5hrs max. The sillage is really good not too much not too weak. My husband loves this scent, he always kisses me whenever the drydown starts. I can feel in comparison to other branded perfumes that I have the ingredients or the notes that was used to this gem are extremely luxurious I mean it has the quality that I'm lookin for. 😉
