The notes listed on the site are wrong. It is not the same formula as the original. Top notes: citrus bergamia, mandarine and lavender. Middle notes: coumarin, jasmine and paradisone. Base notes: iris, styrax balsam, tonkin beans, vanilla and sandalwood. Paradisone® is often used as a "secret weapon" to bring out the best in other ingredients, adding a "natural" and "ethereal" quality to the fragrance. Mon Guerlain Gold opens just like the OG, but the dry down is far denser and richer. I also find it to be a sillage powerhouse. Definitely richer on the Vanilla as @Flavorblade rightly states. It also doesn't feel as sweet throughout its mid and base notes, which makes it stand apart from other flankers. It is angelic, yet seductive. If Mon Guerlain is a 'hug from your mom', MG Gold is the kiss your girlfriend gave you that made you realise she was the one. Beautiful stuff indeed, and the gold bottle is very pretty. Performance is moderate to strong.

This is the same as normal Mon Guerlain edp, it's just in a gold collector's bottle. It was a limited edition for xmas. The Guerlain assistant was very keen to tell me it was exactly the same perfume as the original. I only bought this edition because the bottle was on offer. To me it smells the same.

Got this one last weekend for my birthday. It's such a nice bottle. The perfume is the edp to my nose.

It has a richer grain of Haitian Vanilla.
