Muguet Millésime 2021

In Hong Kong it is only available for those VIC who reserved it in advance and it was sold out before public release. ... it is GBP450 in UK and HKD5300 in Hong Kong, it is still available on their UK website but sadly it was sold out in Hong Kong already. Every year they will release a new design so no worries, reservation start every March. In terms of scent, some say it smells like the washroom fragrance of 5-star hotels. Well, maybe unfair to this wonderful bottle. At least from what I know, there is no alchemist method to extract scent from genuine Lily of the Valley, like Lily all fragrance of Lily of the Valley is somewhat composed. To me the Guerlain Muguet is a watery and grassy top and some sweetness, like the joyful and hopeful grassy scent in the rain after a long dry season, it continues with some rose at the mid, and a slight powdery seductive musk base. It is a limited edition so not everyone has a chance to sample/own one. I suggest Penhaligon's Lily of the Valley as a close alternative. If my memory serves me well, Penhaligon's offer is stronger on the grassy scent with less sweetness. A little bit bitter and more conservative compare to Guerlain's joyfulness. I just compared the real flower with this perfume, and i think its spot on. I dont love it though, i have a 5 ml sample if anyone would like to swap :)

I was lucky enough to find out a tester in one of the shops. It does not smell like Diorissimo at all. No relation to LoTV in Gucci Envy either. It is more watercolor muguet on the slightly musky base. It would sound completely English if not a proper Guerlain base. I have 7 ml Guerlain Muguet extrait from about 50 years ago and find them rather similar. The 2021 version is slightly more modern (chemical). Does it worth AU$1,000? probably no. But I like Guerlain's tradition to do small issues of the fragrances famous in the past. Those who loved them still can satisfy themselves.

I just got my automizer of Muguet. My Mom was a florist. I used to go to a shady hillside and pick Lily of the valleys for her bridal bouquets. This is the best Muguet I have tried; But it is still not natural smelling as I hoped. I heard they cannot distill real Lily of the valley flowers, as they don't have enough oil. So this may be the closest representation of Muguet. So I will enjoy my small travel spray, from time to time. But it won't be bottle worthy for me. Rating: 8/10 You are loved by God. John 3:16
