Oud Nude

One of the best Oud’s I have ever smelled in my life, hands down !! I made another review on Musc Outreblanc where I name dropped this fragrance so I think I should make a review on Oud Nude. Not to make this too long, but last year I went on a trip around Spain, our first stop was Madrid and while we were there, we went into this Galeria thing where there was a bunch of luxury stores and on the top floor there was all the niche and private line fragrances. Me and my mom went to check out some perfumes and my mom spotted the Guerlain counter and so we went to check it out. The salesman there was super friendly and asked me and my mom what type of fragrances we like. My mom and I both said what we liked and he recommended something for the each of us. My mom then merely mentioned that I was a fan of oud and to which I replied that I have a hard time finding oud fragrances that aren’t too potent and strong since they tend to be unwearable. He then told me to try out Oud Nude and that’s when my nose went to heaven. I can’t remember much of the fragrance in detail but I remember it being light, perfectly blended, feminine and sweet with a light touch of Oud. Sometimes Oud tends to overpower a whole fragrance and its surrounding notes, but this one was enveloped in the background as it allowed the other notes to shine, while it was still there. Even my mom who normally isn’t a fan of Oud fragrances, she fell in love with it and still talks about it till this day. This perfume is special to me, it smells amazing. I made myself a promise that I would wear this fragrance the day I graduate with my Bachelor’s degree, and that I would wear this walking the stage with my diploma. That’s how special it smells to me, it’s so sophisticated yet soft. I can’t really describe it to be honest. Great Oud fragrance all in all !!!

First I was obsessed with G U E R L A I N Oud Nude because of it’s notes: Almond, Bourbon Vanilla, Raspberry, Rose, Sandalwood, Atlas Cedar and Oud Then I was lucky to get the sample and was thinking that it’s absolutely boring. I was wondering how it’s possible that so many people are in love with it. I almost forgot my sample but after a couple of months of trying it for the first time I took it from the cupboard, sprayed it and I was obsessed again, so badly. I needed a bottle, a huge one. So it would have been a successful blind buy like all others from this line. Oud Nude is a delicious but not clearly edible. It’s soft cozy hug with a very little amount of Oud. It’s enjoyable and velvety, somehow it makes me think the naked body over sprayed with Oud Nude (Naked Oud) under the cashmere cardigan. It’s pampering and comforting. It feels like all the sorrows are forgotten. So sophisticated, so irresistible. It gets creaminess and subtle nutty touch from Almond but it doesn’t turn cherry like at all. The longevity and sillage are very good. I have had it a little bit over one year now and nothing like it had come across before this year's release "Lucid Dream | Reinvēnted" which is like stronger, deeper and darker interpretation of Oud Nude. If you are thinking between them I highly recommend to try both. I just got my bottle of Lucid Dream, I love this scent profile so much. My husband loves Oud Nude a little bit more than Reinvēnted (on my skin). On his skin Oud Nude turns out too pretty and Lucid Dream on the other hand looses it’s fruitiness. Minimalist and sexy are two things that come to mind when describing Oud Nude. Oud Nude is the perfect namesake for this "barely-there-oud" masterpiece. The oud in this one is sheer and soft... it is not dark, heavy, nor too earthy as with many mainstream ouds. I would further describe the oud as an abstract tickle of leather. You pick up on the slightest leathery oud note, but it is not heavy nor in your face. Many (even with a refined nose) would not be able to place this as an "oud" fragrance. It is a barely-there oud, so devout oud lovers may be left disappointed. The raspberry is my favorite note of all in Oud Nude. Delphine Jelk's play on raspberry is what makes this fragrance a masterpiece in my eyes. Imagine biting into the ripest, plump raspberry on a cool summer evening. The raspberry note is the perfect balance of tart and sweet. I find that most fragrances do not capture the tartness elements in berry fruits accurately, many berry accords come off as either synthetic or overly sweet. Oud Nude is a true photorealistic play on raspberry. The vanilla and almond are also present, but they do not present as gourmand. The almond is more woody than nutty, and the vanilla more so creamy than sweet. The cedar and sandalwood are where I would draw comparisons to Xerjoff Bouquet Ideale, but other than that they are two different legends on their own. I am smitten and could go on for days about Oud Nude (feel free to PM me to discuss more). I am so proud to call this my signature year round fragrance. Others will want to inhale your scent cloud whenever you have on Oud Nude. I hate the idea of buying "back-up" bottles, but for fear of Guerlain's history and pattern of discontinuations, a second 200ml bottle is on my wish list.

Starts out super strong almond and then floats off into a fresh-woody almondy oud with some tobacco/leather aspect and some sweetness too (maybe a hint of cherry), to me. I can smell each of these things equally - the fruity cherry/raspberry, the almond, the oud, the woodiness. I don't know about rose or vanilla, though - I cannot detect those. Very, very unique, very intoxicating. I do not think I have smelled anything exactly like this, but it reminds me of two products I have used with l'occitane - the cerise line and the amande line (cherry and almond). I think this can be worn year-round for sure - leaning feminine but can be slightly masculine. I recommend 200%. I know many say fall/winter, but the cherry/raspberry sourness to me makes it feel more like a good choice for a summer-spring oud scent. For the first hour, it is bold-feminine but still retains its softness. I think if you are aiming for a clear scent bubble, I feel like I have to spray 5-7 times to get some lasting effect from it and I am someone that normally sprays 1-2 times!! After that first hour, though, I would say it starts to slowly waft away - not super strong, but the right amount of sillage/projection if you are looking for a soft impression, not loud, but very, very sophisticated. After a few hours - I can barely smell on my skin but can lightly smell on my clothing - but I love it. She is not begging for attention but will leave a dreamy impression behind that you can't just pinpoint. Super soft, super feminine - not loud at all - definitely a keeper - signature fragrance level/vibes. The only negative about this scent (but could be a positive for some) - is that it does not last too long or project too far.

Deliciously creamy and fruity woods! Delphine Jelk created a true masterpiece with this perfume, and “nude” is a perfect description of what this fragrance is... a stripped down soft aroma that would be loved and admired by everyone. The Agarwood is soft woody and provocative, the Raspberry is tangy and alluring, the Bourbon Vanilla is creamy and decadent, and the Almond is like a cloud enveloping the whole fragrance, the perfect blend for an enticing experience. This parfum is completely unisex, it doesn’t lean one way or the other, anyone wearing this parfum will simply feel like a million dollars. Although suited for any weather, I would reserve it for a special occasion. Projection is moderate, with good sillage, and longevity of over 10+ hours. Loved this fragrance!! ***UPDATE*** I wore it for a second time, now layered with Gingembre Pétillant from Atelier Versace, and the result was amazing... an even more intoxicating and addictive vanilla surrounded the whole fragrance which elevated an almost perfect perfume into a whole new level!! The combination of Oud Nude and Gingembre Pétillant has probably been my most complimented scent to date!! ***UPDATE 2*** It’s been almost 36 hours since I sprayed Oud Nude and Gingembre Pétillant, and they are both still intimately noticeable... granted I haven’t taken a bath yet, but I have washed my hands and face several times, and I have also changed all my clothes, including my undergarments, and I can still pick up both perfumes... at this point they are only faintly present, but still, for the number of hours that have passed this duo has quite an impressive performance.

ABSOLUTELY LOVELY. Beautiful scent, I usually hate raspberries but this is so well blended I simply find it to be a work of art. Because I have a distaste for raspberry, I still don’t like it or buy it for myself, but I still keep a decant because it’s such a lovely scent. The oud? Marvellously blended, chic, not a single speck of dirt in sight. The vanilla? Smooth and binds everything together masterfully, without overpowering the scent. The raspberry is very far from cough syrup, the almonds are simply delectable. Not roasted almonds, btw, it’s very clearly almonds au naturel, so beware (I personally love almonds either way so) but it goes SO WELL with the oud and the vanilla it's bonkers. The bare, fresh almonds prevent this from becoming too gourmand or dessert-like, giving some freshness and versatility to the scent, somehow. It just works so well, in ways I never expected it to. I expected something completely different from the notes, and this definitely surpassed my expectations. Beautiful, I’m considering gifting it to my mom since she loved it so much and that way I can keep experiencing this marvellous concoction regularly without having to wear it necessarily. Stunning fragrance, 10/10 love it I only don’t wear it because no matter how well blended I still have a dislike for raspberry haha

The L'art & La Matiére line intrigued me and I wanted try their range before dropping over $300 for a bottle. I tried many samples and was wearing them leaving enough time to make a decision. Yes, I tried Angelique Noir, and SDV and Cuir Beluga. All the most popular ones. I couldn't get past the first hour of angelica before AN got better, SDV is a little too boozy for me, and there was something in every one of them that made it just a strong like but not a love from start to finish. I tried Oud Nude in Prague in the L'institute first and it stood out to me. The other two oud fragrances did not speak to me, but Oud Nude starts out beautifully with a blast of sweet almond and raspberry, but it's not too fruity or gourmand due to the agarwood which is very soft. This combo makes the fragrance very elegant, classy and somewhat powdery I find. It's is on the feminine side. I love it from start to finish even better when the vanilla comes out later. Unfortunately I have to admit that at some point on this journey after wearing it a couple of times I became anosmic to it. People around me can still smell it and they compliment on it. Then next day I would smell it again on my clothes. No regret buying the FB I just wish I could smell it all the time because it is a very well put together fragrance.

Delicious, dark, smoldering cherry. Luscious smoke swirls respectfully around the cherry rather than smothering it. I’ve never thought of smoke as luscious, but in dry down this cherry embraces the smoke like a long lost lover. They climax as one...softly, smoothly, morphing into a well-blended entity that magnetizes noses near & far. People approach me each time I wear this to ask “What scent?” Although it’s a near dupe for TF Cherry Smoke, CS has a more artificial cherry note than Oud Nude imo. This Oud Nude cherry is more photorealistic. It’s the cherry TF would have created were he still at the helm. (Sigh. We’re missing your DNA, Tom. 😔) As for the smoke, while comparing the two scents I noted something interesting. Whereas Oud Nude eventually retires its cherry, leaving only smoke & woods, Cherry Smoke does just the opposite; the cherry in CS finds its voice mid-evolution & continues to sing until the curtain closes, dissipating the smoke to mere wisps. Though I love both of these scents, I find myself reaching for Oud Nude more often for its realistic cherry note & the way it so perfectly melds w/ the smoke.

It's a gorgeous scent. I received several samples from a large order from Place Vendome, so I've been taking my time with it. Guerlain perfumes from the L'Art & la Matiere line have become an investment. Never in my lifetime will I be able to finish a 100 ml bottle much less a 50 ml. So if I'm going to buy, I go into the purchase acknowledging this. It's a Guerlain through and through. Soft, slightly woody, fruity, creamy almond with a faint peppery finish. Based on the way it smells, I'd buy. Snap it up. Unfortunately, my breathing is affected it by it. So that means Iso E Super. You can even smell it in the dry down, a very faint cedarish peppery finish. I don't find the odor objectionable, but the breathing problems it brings makes it non negotiable. If you have reactions to aroma chemicals, you might want to sample first. I'm heartbroken, the first from this line in a couple of years to really tempt me. If you don't have issues with this, I'd rec giving this one a try. A big love for the scent from me, though.

Guerlain: "We're bringing sexy back, and we're putting it in a bottle!" And in walks OUD NUDE. This is exactly how that IT woman smells. Not a girlie, a woman. You know, the one everyone want to be like. Whatever she wears, she looks effortlessly chic and well put-together. She has an air of sophistication. She's sexy and slightly mysterious. She knows exactly what she wants and how to get it, she always does. Oh, and she takes $hit from no one. You're messing with the wrong gal! I'm not the biggest fan of oud, but this is a small amount of oud and it's done beautifully. It's there but it's very, very smooth. The raspberry is stunning and discernible. Perfectly blended with the almond, wood, vanilla, and just a tinge of rose. And the result is just breathtaking ! Leans feminine and it's perfect for cooler weather. Performance is stellar to say the least. And it leaves an intoxicating trail that will undoubtedly bring compliments. I'm absolutely obsessed with this one. 🌹

This is the Dessert Rose of my Dreams. Full disclosure & where I'm coming from: I am not the biggest gourmand person, I do not love "sweets" and my normal aesthetic is vintage/masculine/dark. I also love Guerlain. Anyway--This opens with luscious roses surrounded by white chocolate, raspberries, and almonds. With a strong undercurrent of incense and oud, billowing around the sweeter rich gourmand notes. This lasts a bit while the incense oud wears down, and the sweet dessert notes meld together into a vanilla rose accord, with a nice woody backbone. That's pretty much what this is. The dessert notes are highly enjoyable and the oud/woods keep the perfume grounded on earth and add a bit of dimension to the whole composition. Lasts forever on skin with great performance, only a few sprays are necessary for a full day's wear. I know this is pricey but this is SO well done and simply smells divine, I might have to save up for it. I very highly recommend this!

Completely unisex. This reminds me a lot of Tom Ford Lost Cherry. I haven’t compared them side by side, but I’m immediately reminded of it. In the opening I get a fruitiness like cherry or raspberry with light oud that comes across ever so slightly smoky. Absolutely nothing dirty or dark and you may not even pick up the smokiness. As it dries you get some woods and vanilla. Not super complex, but not boring. Guerlain quality. I love this. Jelk is creating some youthful fragrances and I can appreciate that. I know she’s catching some flack, but I wonder if Wasser was welcomed with open arms when he took over? Those seeking out a dirty, deep oud should look past this. Go check out Oud Khol or Cherry Oud. This is the most wearable fragrance on the market with oud in the title. EDIT: I compared LC to ON and if you simply replace the booze in LC with oud they are very similar.

One of my favorites from the L’arts & Matière collection- elegant, understated and so chic! Signature scent worthy. Soft, subtle, natural smelling raspberry, sweet almond and the most feminine powdery oud on the market. I find this fragrance to be fairly linear, I enjoy that. The rose is subtle, but I do detect it on my skin. It’s blended seamlessly with the raspberry. In the dry down the vanilla, oud and sandalwood create a suede like feel. The oud is transparent and airy. I prefer to wear this in the spring and fall. It definitely performs better in cooler weather; 6-8 hours on skin and 10+ on clothes. And, the performance of my bottle has improved over time. This is the type of scent that isn’t overbearing when you wear it, but it leaves a distinct trail. Someone complimented me today saying that my perfume smelled amazing even after I had moved to a different room.

If I'm being totally honest, I'm not a fan of Guerlain's current direction, in which they dump all their efforts into this L'Art et la Matieres collection, as very few of these are true keepers and rarely if ever worth their now astronomical price (in my opinon). That said, here we see Delphine, who is the mind behind La Petite Robe Noire, let fully loose on her number 1 style of fragrance, the amygdaloid, cerise gourmandesque. Almonds, berries and vanilla are her weapons of choice, and it's therefore no surprise that Oud Nude smells wonderful. To me, Oud Nude belongs in the same Category as Lutens' Rahat Loukoum - high-almond. I don't get much oud here, but there is a smooth, subtly woody depth to the scent which grounds and rounds out the bakewell tart-like aspects. A very pretty and quite feminine scent, with good longevity.

I got a sample of this because I wanted to try out more ouds. However, this wasn't what I was expecting at all -- in a good way. At first, the oud and rose part reminded me of Rien Intense Incense without the incense, which is one of my all-time favorites. However, that part of it moves into the background as it becomes more like a raspberry and strawberry mix with the oud and rose very far removed. I can smell it wafting up from my wrist every now and then, and it reminds me of the natural scent of a couple of girls I knew, which may be where the "nude" part comes into play in the name. It's really gorgeous. My jaw kind of dropped at the cost of the full bottle since it's nearly $400, so it will be expensive even as a decant.

Just sampling this and I love it. The raspberry rose and almond make a lovely accord resting gently on top of the soft oud and woody smells. Even though this perfume is fancy, I wore it for a long walk with my dog on a warm spring-summer evening, through lots of wooded areas in my neighbourhood. I couldn’t stop smelling this gorgeous fragrance that complements nature so perfectly. It’s true that there is almost a Cherry smell, but it’s really the soft raspberry rose blended with almond. I sprayed the tiniest squirt once on my wrist and was impressed with its longevity and projection. As much as I adore this I will likely not own a full bottle as it’s about 500$ here in Canada after tax. 😭

Without being obviously gourmand, Oud Nude has a few delicate sweet notes. Cherry almond cookies with halved candied cherries or a more rustic amaretti unfurl as delightful eyesores somehow. While both of these warmed might play scent double with Guerlain's creamy oud skin scent, alas the Pennsylvania Dutch cherry almond frosted shortbread takes the ribbon par excellence. Early weekend mornings toiling over pink donuts, boiled bagels, or a giant pink almond shortbread before brunch with Lancaster lass' laughing behind their farmer's market crates at lay people in shorts ogling their fare. Something old and sweet, though fresh and innocent. Almondy cherry with a little oud for longevity.

Sprayed after a lifetime of perfumes that blow you into the reeds, it’s probably quite tame from a too-small decant this morning, twelve hours ago. Its a good thing I can’t just buy a 100ml any more out in the badlands. A perfumer has overlaid/underlaid a soft ghostly oud trope over a Guerlain almondy vanilla base. I did spend a couple of hours wondering if the dogs had rolled in horse piss, then I remembered my ancient experiences of oud, and decided to check. (Yes, dogs have rolled in horse piss.) Nope, this is a nude, a baby skin nude, oud. Incredible. My daughter has just had a au natural baby. You bloody Europeans , can just walk into a shop in Paris, AND JUST BUY IT.

Tried a sample of this at the Guerlain store in the Bellagio... I was blown away by it. However, I didn’t pull the trigger on a full bottle... a year later I saw a decant of it for sale and jump on it. After smelling it again for the 1st time in over a year, it reminded me of something else in my collection. After sniffing through bottles, I realized it is very similar to Bodacious by Boadicea the Victorious. Cherry isn’t listed in Oud Nude but the raspberry smell very cherry like.... Still a really good fragrance and I’m always torn between which to wear of the two! One is more boozy and one is more leathery.

I’ve had my bottle since late 2023 and I still have it. I absolutely love this fragrance. Like many people here have mentioned, it’s a very elegant perfume. It opens slightly sweet and fruity, but the dry down is where it really shines rich, smooth, and captivating. Over time, my bottle has turned into a dark cherry color, and interestingly when I smelled a fresh bottle recently, it smelled noticeably lighter and a bit different. Mine has developed in a way that made it deeper and more beautiful. At this point, it’s gotten so good that I almost don’t even want to spray it anymore.
