Perle Impériale

I was very fortunate to receive this as a gift from a purchase I made from Etsy. The wonderful lady I purchased from placed it within the bag without me knowing. I open the bag today potentially looking for something else, and I come across this sample. The name of the fragrance didn't even register with me. Perle Imperial? I don't have the slightest idea. So I decide to put it on. And I'm very happy I did. The real gift was not having any predispositions about this fragrance. Because of that, I am able to judge this fragrance fairly. I have another benefit which is being new to the brand. I am here today judging this fragrance simply based on my general knowledge and experience from fragrances as a whole. I think this is a beautiful, and I mean beautiful, soft, creamy, airy fig and sandalwood composition. Because I had no idea what was in it, my reaction to it was visceral. I instantly felt a strong attraction to it. It is very soft and very feminine, but also very balanced and very elegant. You can tell it is executed very well. I did not know it was fig in the beginning or even sandalwood for that matter. Usually sandalwood is very recognizable. Perhaps because it was not blended very well or it was used too much, breaking the balance of the composition. The same goes for the fig. The balance of those two notes in this fragrance is impeccable. I cannot identify one over the other in the sea of other notes which is a very good thing for those of you who don't know. The longevity is the same as most other Guerlain exclusives, and the same goes for the sillage. I don't think very many of us are interested in that. The interest lies in the note composition and if it is worth the price tag that is associated with limited editions. My answer to that is yes. A thousand times yes! I use that reference intentionally. Perle Imperial is romantic. Chic. Soft. Young. It's a period piece and a romantic comedy blended into one great movie. It hits the spot if that makes sense. I do think this fragrance is about satisfying something inside yourself rather than trying to attract someone else. You are not throwing out a fishing net when you are wearing this. There is a brightness here, and there is also a great amount of comfort. It's very difficult to do, and I think they succeeded. In that regard, it would make perfect sense why this would be limited. It's quite superb. I absolutely think it is worth going out of your way to try and find it. I'm going to.

While the bottle is not my cup of tea, the scent is beautiful. It begins with a bit of citrus, and then a juicy, fruity, slightly spiced fig. I'm not a huge fan of milky-green fig notes in scents (i.e. Premier Figuier, Philosykos), but this fig is sweet and feels like it has a bit of aromatic spiciness to accompany it (there's something cinnamony or almost like cardamom humming in the background). The scent is mostly that fig accord over and ambery, powdery, coumarin trail with a hint of woody leather in the drydown. Yes, the far drydown does have a bit of the transparent-screechy aromachemical-vibe, but it's not overly sharp and is held mostly at bay by plush clean musks and resins. It's not a scent that moves heaven and earth, but is sweet, sensual, and well-crafted.

Absolutely bewitching woody gourmand that immediately transports you to a bygone era of decadence. The scent opens with notes of bergamot anf pear and moves to a brief powdery tonka heart before it settles into a lovely woody base highlighted by sandalwood, myrrh, a leather accord and synthetic musk. This is a precisely constructed beauty evoking the grandeur of harems or boudoirs of palaces of the past and comes in a bottle design evoking the same feel. The slight feminine leaning scent has moderate projection and good longevity. It is expensive but it is beautifully done. Enjoy!

I came across this captivating Guerlain perfume during my visit to the newly opened Galeries Lafayette in Dubai, and I was immediately enchanted by its allure. Compelled by its unique composition, I decided to purchase it for my wife Dana. To say she adored it would be an understatement; she was utterly captivated, constantly delighting in its fragrance. This perfume isn't just a scent; it's a tastefully crafted masterpiece by Guerlain, boasting a truly unique blend that stands out as exceptionally beautiful.

This smells like it's price point lol None of the individual notes necessarily stand out but they do stand as one. Extremely lovely and a special occasion scent. Going to the opera/ballet perfume ya know? Make your mink coat smell like the memory of it perfume. Wearing gloves perfume. You get it.

The whole package is exceptional, especially the perfume itself. No wonder 1,605 pieces sold out in a flash. Will come back for full review.

I just picked up a beautiful 30ml mini bee ( I adore the 30ml Guerlain flacons, I wish Guerlain would offer them for sale and in additional colors!) Short tangent. I chase discontinued fragrances. I can’t help it, I see notes that I enjoy and if I can find a unicorn for a fair price, I’ll blind buy it. Gloria by Cacharel is a unicorn I finally found and not only did it remind me of SDV, Perle Imperiale’s sweet, powdery but undeniable balsamic tones immediately remind me of the best parts of Gloria. But Perle is a more elevated and elegant form of Gloria. Bergamot sort is dominates the opening and I swear Guerlain’s Opopanine accord was in the composition. So much so that the first 40 minutes made me think I was smelling Shalimar Millesime Tonka. The fig is sweet and chewy and highlights the milky aspects of sandalwood. The leather subtle. The base is my favorite part. The myrrh is so resinous! It’s deep, dark and sweet with a slight cola fuzziness. One would be forgiven for thinking vanilla was also in the base. All and all a wonderful release from Guerlian. I really wish Guerlain would add Perle Imperiale and L’heure Dorée to the L&M line.

Balsamic, ambery, sweet fragrance, the leather note is too sharp here. I would not purchase it even if the price point was affordable. There are many others similar with this scent profile. And I can’t smell a fig, only mentioned accords.

A rare case when a bee bottle turns out to be appropriate, coquettishly complemented with accessories in a boudoir-palace style. The sweet and powdery scent of a courtesan, the king's favorite? France has seen many of these stories, and Guerlain artistically complements it's story with a reminder of them. It’s strange that so many haters don’t understand this; they can only be recommended to read classic French literature to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of that time, which Guerlain skillfully recreates!

Why would Guerlain not create another beautiful expensive piece if they have the customers for it? It would make no sense. Congrats to the artists for the gorgeous bottle, and may the buyers enjoy it and cherish it!

An absolute scandal for the brand..... who wants to wear this? It smells cheap Turkish market perfume. This is actually the first time ever I felt a Guerlain smelling "bad"... eeeuw what a horrible perfume

Absolute STUNNER 😍😍😍 My utterly favourite Guerlain - and I'm primarily a lover of Legendaries Mitsouko & L'Heure Bleue.... but this!!! So so elegant, a bit sweet, woody, fruity ❤ take my money 🤩🤩

If Wasser had used orchid for mid and some oakmoss and ambroxan for base, he would have gotten Casanova by Tiziana Terenzi. Almost the same notes
