Shalimar Millésime Jasmin

I never thought in a million years that I would like this. I was dead set against it in fact, as I'm not really a white floral lover, so I honestly didn't expect anything much from it but man, was I wrong. After recently obtaining a fantastically priced bottle from the wonderful FragranceX site, I took the plunge and finally bought a bottle, as trying to obtain a sample proved to be a bit of a headache and I had been looking since it was released!! However, good things comes to those who wait and I boy did I wait. At first sniff, this latest Millésime, really does hold it's own when compared to previous releases like Vanille Planifolia and Tonka. And It has it's own distinct personality and it's a strong personality imho. To my nose, it warm, extremely sensual, vanillic and verging on ambery and deliciously musky with the most wonderfully balance of 3 different Jasmines and not that awfully insipid Jasmine that has been poured into 2020s perfume releases. No, this is a Jasmine stands alone and it's a wonder! It's slightly green and opens slightly indolic for a few seconds and then it's gone; melting into the composition blending so masterfully, that I found it hard to pick out individual notes but every now again, I find that I do get a whiff of bergamot,.musk and my beloved Shalimar DNA. So, I am so pleased that finally, I am aquainted with this Millésime and my initial thoughts are that I'm sure as time goes by, I will more than likely discover a lot more about it but for right now, I can confirm that I love it and it fits right in to the Millésime family and I can't wait until the next release ❤️ So to anyone whose been wondering and holding back, I've written this for you. As there was not one review that I'd read about this that made me feel like I really needed this in my collection, so I could have missed out on what is a gem. But now I've experienced it, I would say that it's great for those who are shy of white florals as it's a modern white floral which can be worn by anyone. And going forward, I personally would love a back up of this as the nod to O.G Shalimar is there for sure but without the leather and petrol but it is still busty and full bosomed and the performance is just crazy good and 3-4 sprays lasted well over 8 hours.

First of all Shalimar Millésime Jasmin is a beautiful perfume. The Jasmin is of very good quality and sometimes reminds me of the Jasmin in Chanel No. 5. I am tempted to buy a back up. It is, however, very expensive and I’m still on the fence. Here are some of my observations that keep it from being an exceptional perfume in my book. Shalimar Millesime Jasmin is a confectionary flower child that is bridled by an OG helicopter parent. Although the Jasmin is beautiful, the long flowering stems are trampled by vanilla. When the Jasmin does try to run wild and free it is reined in by a discordant smokey leather voice cautioning it to remember that it is after all still a Shalimar flanker. Pity. It suffers a bit from a personality disorder and can’t quite decide what it wants to be when it grows up. I wonder how it will age. When I do get a good clean whiff of Jasmin, it is divine. Wearing it side by side with the OG reveals SMJ as a fresh floral iteration. There are times that it calls to mind Shalimar Souffle but SM Jasmin is more transparent in the heart notes and I like it better. There are more notes than are listed in the base. SMJ does not open with peppery bergamot like the OG which smolders on the skin with warmth. Instead, the Bergamot is citrusy with the Jasmine and Vanilla sweetening it a little. There are green notes listed. Maybe a hint of lime? I’m curious to know what others think concerning the green notes. Shalimar Millésime Jasmin requires heat from the skin to make the Jasmin bloom. It wears well on the warmer days of fall. It is a powdery floral but it has a lot of warmth. I wish the Millésime Iris would have been more like SMJ and less gourmand. All in all I’m glad I bought it. I have all of the other three Millésimes and after last year I was thinking of passing on this one. I'm glad I didn't. Update Sept 2025 - I purchased a second bottle. Totally worth it! This has become one of my favorite Jasmine fragrances. Also Millésimes and after last year I was thinking of passing on this one. I'm glad I didn't. Also Millésime Iris has improved over time and I am loving it.

I almost bought a full bottle of the new Shalimar L'essence But I thought you know what why don't I wait for my sample of the Jasmine flanker. And boy I'm glad I did. Even though I gave the new Shalimar L'essence a very good review, The Jasmine interpretation of Shalimar, is so much more beautiful and complex. While still taking away a lot of the excess of the original. What I love about both of these shalamar's is they take away all of the harsh citrus opening that the original and many of the other flankers had that I've smelled and I've smelled quite a few of the flankers and I did not like any of them. There is just no harshness in the opening at all in both of these flankers. The difference between the Jasmine and the new L'essence is in the heart of the fragrances. While the L'essence is more about the iris and the vanilla. The Jasmine is about the Jasmine. I get touches of orange blossom and a little bit of pedtigrain in the opening. But that fades away. The extra Jasmine in the heart of this fragrance is just absolutely stellar. This is probably one of the best jasmines I have smelled other than Jean Patou's Joy. This is not an indolic jasmine though. But there's a fresh spicy exotic sexuality going on in this fragrance that I find extremely attractive. I like sensuality in my fragrances and this one really delivers. Is it heavy on the vanilla of course it is it's Shalimar. But this one has an edge to it in my opinion. While the L'essence it's kind of like the good girl vanilla. The Jasmine flanker is the bad girl vanilla. I could see Betty from the Archie comic books wearing the L'essence flanker. But Veronica wears the Jasmine. And I've always been more of a Veronica. This is my Shalimar. This is the one for me. I'm not a Shalimar collector at all but I've always wanted a version of it in my collection and I only need one and this is it. Although if they do a rose I will try and might buy. Lol. Edit: I just bought 2 bottles. Love this interpretation of Shalimar. Absolute love for me. I also bought the L'Essence as well. Both are great.

This is Shalimar flanker for Shalimar lovers. From the first sniff my impression was: ok, this is Shalimar, maybe quite redundant, because you do get all the notes and accords from the original. Lemony, smokey, ambery vanilla with amplified jasmin. It's not that far from original but wearing them side by side original feels quite different. Original is much shaper, rougher, higher notes and projects stronger, and Jasmin Milesime develops so smoothly and stays a bit closer to the skin. Listed notes to me look quite deceptive because I'm experiencing more complex perfume. In the opening there is the biggest difference to Shalimar edp because those sharp cituses are substituted with beautiful jasmine of highest quality. I do get that beautiful guerlinade wich, at the times, reminds me of base in my favourite Samsara, but also the way jasmine lays in bed of beautiful vanilla in Verset Charm (which is said to be good substitute for reformulated Dior Addict). There is something so familiar and soothing I find in all of mentioned perfumes. Although I am big fan of original Shalimar I find sense in collecting flankers and perhaps find them (most of the ones I own) more smooth and likeable. This is more jasmine forward, smoother, less sharp and prominent Shalimar flanker which is absolutely beautiful. Performs humbler than the original with 6 to 7 hour longevity and personal aura. I bought a new bottle two months ago after falling in love with Shalimar Essence. It seems to be quite dark, a bit darker than Shalimar Essence and a lot darker then Shapimar edp. I would say this is an absolute love of mine if the performances were just a bit stronger.

I could have sworn that I'd put my review here, but I don't see it. That happens a lot! Not sure if I have a problem with submitting reviews, them sticking, or what. I reviewed this a year ago...It's become one of my favorite perfumes, and a regular go-to. When I tried Shalimar Jasmin, it was an afterthought. I'd intended to smell the new L'Essence, but the sales associate offered this to sample as well. I sprayed one on each wrist. L'Essence was as expected, with a familiar gorgeous similarity to the Millisime Vanilla Plantifolia. What stunned me was the Shalimar Millisme Jasmin. A sensual jasmine was initially compelling, sensual, and inviting on my skin, and wafted a slightly naughty indolic come-hitherness. Bright bergamot shone like a jewel, and the jasmine became less indolic and realistic. As it transformed delicately, I felt like it knew me - pieces of Samsara are unexpected, but familiar - the narcotic jasmine, the warm and creamy sandalwood. The amber and vanilla facets of Shalimar are still vascillating throughout, and it has a certain elegant silkiness as well. Guerlain regularly cross references itself, something that I can't complain about. Why not fully explore the expansiveness of their extraordinary catalog? Shalimar Millisime Jasmin is a beautiful, fragrant dance of the two most majestic perfumes of all time. Simultaneously, Delphine Jelk has made them both more wearable, and more modern without losing any of their magic. Kudos and also a hefty Thank You for a glorious and terribly underrated Millisime rendition, which I bought immediately and have been wearing nonstop since.

It took a bit of time, and a *lot* of testing (in different seasons and temperatures), but I finally wrapped my brain around this beauty and I can honestly say that I've become more enamored with it than I expected I would. For me, this one shines in spring and fall, when the temperatures aren't too extreme. Applied in bone-chilling cold, Millesime Jasmin doesn't get the chance to open up as much as it should. In blazing heat, it can feel like a bit much. However, it thrives in the in-between spaces. In autumn, especially, it takes on a radiant, golden hue. I do get a hint of that unusual bergamot opening, but it dissipates quickly, leaving an inviting mix of jasmine (which I would categorize as "blended as part of a composition"), powdery/silky vanilla, and a sensual-but-still-polite, mellow musk that sticks around throughout the duration of wear. Sometimes, I detect hints of a leathery base when I wear it, and other times, I don't, so it keeps things interesting from this wearer's perspective. I feel like it's a recognizable member of the Shalimar family, but it's still accessible to those who want something that's a slight departure from the original. Millesime Jasmin feels like your favorite cozy sweater -- the classic one in a color that flatters you (you know the one I mean -- you've owned it for years and you keep coming back to its timeless shape) with the design that never goes out of style, made of materials that last and still feel as soft and fluffy as the day you first wore it.

Jasmin Millesime, Shalimar in 3 Acts Jasmin is right at the top, so green and floral, a touch of tea, a touch of green narcissus, a bare hint of honeysuckle. Jasmin that is so natural and lovely, I can see how people can find this "indolic" only because of how true to the source it is, unlike a mainstreamer "designer & safe" jasmine that a lot are used to. I love how green it is, more green and summery than a blinding white floral. The pure green jasmin doesn't last that long, and I give it a pass because it strikes me a so naturally beautiful and uncorrupted. The jasmin does turn leathery, and a hint ... earthy ... not exactly the smoke of OG Shalimar, but maybe a wisp of incense and leather start to support the jasmin after the green notes float away. Depending on the temperature I detect more powder, and the vanilla dry down comes marching in, which a spot of jasmin left over, the vanilla is a straight shot of vanilla, it is not musky, it is powdered vanilla. The smoke and leather are gone. That is what this year's Shalimar is. Green Jasmin, Then the Leather & Incense, and a Vanilla base. It moves very fast. I think it will change depending on the temperature outside, what notes actually shine. I love it a lot more than last year's sweet caramel fest. I wish the base had a little more going on, but otherwise I like this floralesque Shalimar.

I finally got this, a Christmas present from my husband. I made sure he ordered it as soon as it was available and lived in suspense (or frenzied anticipation) until Christmas Eve. It's immediately recognizable as Shalimar, but it smells a bit cleaner and greener in the opening; instead of the bright bergamot blast in the original Shalimar, you get a discreet whiff of bergamot along with a kind of humid green accord, a bit like rain-slicked new leaves. The jasmines--two varieties, neither particularly indolic--are present throughout, intensifying as the citrus notes die down and the ambery-vanilla Guerlinade base notes emerge. Yes, Shalimar Millésime Jasmin is powdery, perhaps less so than the OG Shalimar or Shalimar Millésime Tonka, but powder haters are not going to dig it. Leather or osmanthus isn't listed as a note, but I can definitely smell it here. It might register more as a soft suede note than as a butch leather, but it's definitely there: sexy and animalic. Like all Guerlains, it still smells clean and classy, appropriate for nearly every occasion as long as you don't overspray it. Well, you might not want to wear this at the office, but only because offices don't deserve this much beauty.

I just went to the post deliverance service place of mine (😛) - and fifteen minutes ago I opened my precious bottle of Shalimar Millesime Jasmin!! 😍 I am so happy! This is the most beautiful of my different variations of Shalimar. I am not good at distinguishing what is the jasmin note in it - but oh my oh my, how lovely this fragrance is!! It gives me the feeling of an oldfashioned boudoir - with old woods, satin and velvet, porcelain and the soft light from candles, and decaying flowers in a huge vase. And lots and lots of Poudre et Vanille... I am just so sorry, that many of the flankers of Shalimar are just limited editions! I am so glad that I have Philtre de Parfum, but it is nowhere to be found anymore. So, yeah, I will just have to cherish what I have - but I wish they would make these beauties permanent!! The next morning: I have put Philtre de Parfum on my right wrist, and Millesime Jasmin on my left wrist. After half an hour, I can clearly identify the jasmin in this variant of the fragrance! It is bright and light, but still soft and very cuddly. Like a summers morning - like today! (We do not have hot weather today, but sunny. This fragrance fits just right.)

I was determined not to miss out on a full bottle of this year's Millesime because Iris just blew my mind. I was a little disappointed that it would be a jasmine centred release (I love jasmine but have a lot of jasmine frags) but I ordered a bottle nonetheless. I had a run of bad luck with frags in October, and to be honest, when I first smelt Jasmin, I thought it was yet another bottle I'd end up selling. There wasn't anything that really stood out. The jasmine was there but it was mostly... Shalimar, to my nose. Iris on the other hand was very different. Shalimar but extra. Anyway, I decided to leave it alone until our first hot spring day the other week (35 degrees - yes, that's spring in Australia occasionally). I decided to try it again and wow... The heat/humidity really brought out the magic of Jasmin. It was indolic/animalic in the best way and married with all the other things Shalimar does best in the heat, I was in love. I COULD NOT believe the difference of Jasmin between cold and hot weather. I can't wait to wear it over the next few months. I still love Iris but I think I can grow to enjoy Jasmin more. Now to try and get a decant of Tonka.

I agree with reviewers who say that jasmine is not that prominent despite its moniker. I wonder if jasmine is amped up, it would stray too far away from Shalimar-ness. I might try layering with a soliflore jasmine perfume. Overall, I think this is beautiful and elegant. It’s a serene version of OG Shalimar EDP, and I like this flanker more than the OG precisely because it’s defanged and softer with burning leather and sharp edgy citrus dialed down. My partner also said it’s very nice immediately after sniffing. 😘 I think it’s backup bottle worthy. Update 09/24/2024: I sprayed this again today. I appreciate that the perfumer used a graceful touch on the Jasmin. It still is definitely more floral without overpowering the signature of Shalimar. And each note is so well-blended that none throws me off. It has bright aspects to it that I enjoy. Love it. Update: 10/02/2024: in an attempt to get more jasmine, I sprayed a strong soliflore jasmine. The ratio was 1:2 jasmine: Shalimar Jasmin. Still, the jasmine overwhelmed Shalimar. I think this Millesime Jasmin is composed gently to retain the integrity of Shalimar.

I initially smelled it in London in November, but I passed on it because it honestly didn’t smell pleasant enough for the price. Fast forward to the spring when an online retailer had it for a great price. Given many good reviews, I really wanted to give it another try in warmer weather. It seemed like a great Mother’s Day gift. Right? Now she is mine. Oh my goodness! Is this even the same thing I smelled in London? Did I judge too soon (there is a weirdness in the beginning)? She is beautiful! My husband and I both think this is our favorite Shalimar thus far (I have several), and I am considering a back up. Since Texas weather is generally warm to blazing hot, wearing Shalimar can be tricky. I put this one on after I was gifted it, staying inside most of the day. Then, late afternoon, I took a long walk. It was warm out. As my skin warmed, this became more lovely. It morphed into something more lactonic, but not soured. While tea isn’t listed, when it’s warmed up, I get a jasmine tea like fragrance that morphs into something somewhere between London Fog and crème brûlée. Très magnifique!

My bottle just arrived today, and this review is first impression only. I’m not the biggest Shalimar fan, in fact I can probably count on one hand the number of times I’ve worn it throughout my life. (And I never wore it until a few years ago). But I’ve noticed, as I’ve gotten older, I’m more drawn to musk. Shalimar Millésime Jasmin is a dusty, powdery version of the EDP like others have noted. But on my skin there’s nothing sweet about it. I can’t comment on if it’s a lighter version, but it does feel complex and nuanced. Im also surprised that Jasmin is not pronounced until the drydown. Even then, it’s in the base and not forward. If this wasn’t packaged as a Shalimar flanker, I would think it’s a beautiful niche musk. I like it but my husband loves it— which means I’m starting to love it too, This means my blind buy will be a permanent addition to my collection. I also bought Shalimar Millésime Vanilla Planifolia a few years back. I wore it once but never went back. That blind buy was not as successful as this one.

Shalimar and I have a longing/hate relationship. I long to find a wearable version of her, and she hates me. Until now. I finally found a Shalimar I can not only wear but love. Maybe it is the loss of the leather note, maybe the jasmine just balanced the composition on my skin, but I am so glad I tested this one, I bought a full bottle and had it engraved because THIS is gorgeous. The whole thing is lovely, but the top of the perfume is like a lot of other jasmine perfumes, I wouldn't buy it for that (because I already have 3 or 4). What I love is the far, far dry down. Two days later the scent on my jacket was so enchanting I was actually distracted by it. In the top it is powdery, but it is no longer a stale face powder, instead it is soft, fluffy, and just a hint sprinkled over the fresh flowers and soft citrus. And the drydown is... well it is so well blended and perfectly balanced I couldn't tell you what notes it contains just that they are perfection. My Shalimar search is over!

This is my absolute favorite version of Shalimar! There's an old saying: "Good girls don’t smoke, dance the tango, or wear Shalimar", and it couldn’t be more true as far as what the OG Shalimar stood for in its day! Shalimar was known as a ‘bad girl’ fragrance and I think that this version comes closest to maintaining that persona out of all the recent flankers. Now—don’t get me wrong—I love my L’Essence version ( I can’t get enough of that powdery, boudoir scent remnant that remains the morning after spraying) but this version—Jasmine Millésime—is just outright sexy at first spray! Every time I wear this one my husband comments that I smell gorgeous which is a rare thing as he usually doesn’t notice my fragrances! There is a raw edge as a result of the strong green jasmine presence that really captures one’s attention and it just can’t be denied by all who smell it! A true love for me and I even bought a back up bottle which was my FIRST time EVER doing such a thing!

I’ll start by saying I’m not the biggest fan of Shalimar. When I really started getting into perfumes a few years back I tested the edp and edt and found both pleasant but nothing special. But in the last year I’ve been collecting mostly from the classic houses currently focused on Chanel and Dior. Of course Guerlain was on my radar but I hadn’t gotten around to making a purchase. Enter Shalimar Jasmine. There was some talk on Facebook about this flanker and since I love jasmine I decided to blind buy thinking even if I don’t like it I could sell it. What I did not realize is how much I would love this perfume. In addition to getting Tobacco Honey after trying the sample I now need a back up bottle of this beauty. I’m not usually into super powdery perfumes and even though this is powdery the creaminess from the jasmine tones it down. It lasts all day and is perfect for any occasion although I will probably save it for the special ones.

What a surprise... I had pretty low expectations after experiencing the semi-disastrous Millésime Iris.... Sorry to those who love it but... It smells neither of Iris nor of Shalimar but of some synthetic, what I can only assume to be ethyl maltol trainwreck that really sunk any hopes for that fragrance... However THIS is absolutely gorgeous... The jasmine is stunning and the very recognisable and prominent Shalimar DNA puts this flanker at the very top of the Millesime list (which is a tough feat to beat Millésime Tonka!)... Not only is it PERFECTLY balanced giving the jasmine the pedestal it needs to be labeled as such, but the performance is also incredibly strong (not strong as in suffocating but the sillage and longevity are just as good as tonka which, for those in the know, is the top performer of this bunch)... Brava, Delphine-- you've really created a BEAUTY....

Millesime Jasmin has arrived and the first testing is going on. This version is light compared to Tonka, which is dark and deep from the beginning. I could say with the first test that Jasmin beats Tonka in my opinion. The bergamot didn't linger on the skin except for a short breath as the jasmines came to the fore. Such a beautiful and delicate jasmine, not indolic, but clean and bright. I like indolics (Amouage Opus IX is one of the best), but this Shalimar suits these light and clean white flowers. Jasmines mix with Guerlain's superior vanilla to form a powdery soft jasmine aura. There is not much left of the original Shalimar and there is no need, because Jasmin is beautiful in her own right. I'm already mourning the fact that even this scent is only available for a moment and then it disappears like the morning mist when the sun rises. Definitely worth back up💚

this starts with a green jasmine, slightly indolic and more realistic than a lot of modern jasmines, along with vanilla and a hint of bergamot. after a few minutes it gets smokier. the regular shalimar has a smokiness that turns to an ashtray on my skin until the drydown. somehow the jasmine in this softens that and makes it less smoky overall. after a little while it gets a bit more powdery, which i love. this is sultry, gorgeous and intoxicating for me. the reviews seem to be all over the place on this. for me it's a smoky vanillic jasmine. the drydown of original shalimar gets more sweet and vanillic on me. this one remains smokier but is not as smoky as the beginning of the original. so it's similar but still different enough for me anyway. it's really pretty and i prefer it much more than the iris from last year.

It reminds me very much of Shalimar Millésime Tonka from two years ago. It doesn't have that buttery note, none of the marzipan in the opening. The drydown is very similar, though. I do prefer the tonka version over this one. Nonetheless, Millésime Jasmin is very, very good, a love and fine quality. The Jasmin really shines - it's warm, well rounded and sweet. Edit: I've worn this a couple more times since I wrote this first review. It's all been in cool weather, but on occasions where you celebrate inside, which around this time of the year mostly means very warm, cozy temperatures - and it was during those occasions that I loved Millésime Jasmin the most. The beautiful white flower note was then very reminiscent of the one in Samsara.

I have a love-hate relationship with Jasmine Endolic Jasmine does not thrill me. And a little goes a long way. the the most wearable Jasmine I’ve experienced is “Trussardi Pure Jasmine” which is soft girly lovely inoffensive. Beautiful. But if you want unforgettable Jasmine, you can’t do better than “A La Nuit by Serge Lutens” I have been looking for a replacement for quite a while. I still have a little bit left, but not super thrilled with SL right now. as a Shalimar lover, (it’s always in the arsenal) I was a bit reluctant to try this. I’m not a huge fan of flankers... but this really does come close. It’s simple, beautiful and powerful. I am not sorry I bought it. I don’t wear it very frequently, but I love it.

I worried....would the bergamot be too strong at the opening? Would the green notes be too sharp? Would the jasmine be too flowery? Would the scent profile be too simplistic? The hubris! To question Ms. Jelk's deft handling of this flanker as part of the historic Shalimar line! I need not worry and, in fact, not knowing what to expect with this blind buy that I couldn't resist at such a great price - I have been completely mesmerized. Sniffing my wrist repeatedly throughout the day as the notes shift from the brief citrusy opening to a slightly animalic middle and settling into the musky vanilla base. It is new yet familiar all at once. I love it and so glad I picked it up - highly recommend.

Gorgeous!! It opens with a luminous, rounded true to life Jasmine - verdant but not indolic. This Jasmine has leaves and stem attached and some how she comes across as powdery on my skin. Very quickly I find the Jasmine is blanketed by the shalimar vanilla. I find that when you remove the citrus and resins from Shalimar, the leathery aspects of the composition are amped up. I noticed this in Millesime Iris and Vanilla Planifolia (lesser in Tonka) Millésime Jasmin builds off of SMI and SMVP. I can smell them both in jasmin and the dry down of jasmin is the same mouthwatering luxury gourmand vanilla that’s the base of the glorious SMVP. Back up worthy.

In order to appreciate this little gem, you need to wear it when the weather is getting warm. Delphine Jelk understood how jasmine works: in warm weather, it blooms and diffuses its beautiful sent in the air. Shalimar Millesime Jasmine is exactly the same: wear it in winter, and the jasmine is toned down and you have Shalimar. Wear it when it’s warm and you have Shalimar in a new dimension. This is how you appreciate it. I have bought 8 bottles to enjoy and collect but also as some kind of investment, a bit like wine. This juice is produced once in a lifetime. With age, I would not be surprised if it matures even better.

After buying Shalimar L'Essence, I decided to buy Millésime Jasmin before it disappears. I decided It was ok to blind buy based on the fact that I like Shalimar, and I like jasmine. I tried it today: these are my initial thoughts. The opening is pure jasmine, a little green, not indolic, slightly bitter. As it dries, the vanilla starts to come through and for a moment it makes me think of Vanillary by Lush, which I like a lot. As the perfume continues to dry, it becomes more rounded and more refined. It becomes slightly powdery and delicately sweet, more Shalimar. I find it incredibly beautiful 💫🤍

This is a surprisingly creamy jasmine scent, opens green and a touch soapy before settling into florals that very much favor tuberose against a rich custard-like vanilla backdrop. Feels like Jelk took the essence of L'Interdit and infused with the Guerlinade base. Gets more powdery as it develops on the skin and on me, projects well above arms' length. This is better worn in the warmer months because from my experience, jasmine-dominant scents tend to develop better with external heat than without. This is a worthy standalone from the other Millésime offerings.

I'm a man of a certain age (what that age is, I'm not exactly certain) and I sometimes wear Shalimar. I love this millésime and I get exactly what it proports to be -- a Shalimar with the jasmine heightened. I find it really beautiful, especially in the dry down when the perspective shifts and the Shalimar base comes forward a bit more. In synesthetic terms, it feels very colorful to me: the white flowers, the golden amber, even a little green at the top. Gorgeous! Thank you for this one, Ms. Jelk. Now will we get a Millésime Rose next year?

Mmmm opens with the beautiful softly skanky musk/civet type notes with a crisp green and bergamot opening. Not as strongly green or citrus as normal - but still for me very present. Vanilla delivered in a buffered almost powdery fashion and a jasmine that is somewhat abstract, leaning soapy. If I hadn’t known it was jasmine I’m not sure I would have picked it. It’s warm and has a fluffy texture to the nose. Grownup and sexy in a clean way with those animalic touches tempered. Very nice!!

I love this! what a beauty ❤️. Although I am not a huge Shalimar lover, this one is a big love for me. Unisex fragrance for sure. Longevity is good, sillage is also good. I get the bergamot right off the bat, and then the jasmine comes through while it’s drying down! I did have to spray quite a bit since it’s not super strong. Excellent for cooler weather don’t know if I would wear this in the warmer months on me! Highly recommended but I see it may be harder to fine now a days!

This is now becoming a fall tradition for me, looking for this year's Shalimar Millesime! I am excited but wary. Too much musk will this smell like the Souffle version of Shalimar? I really hope that this is a nuclear level of jasmine here and not another vanilla musk with a bit of Jasmine. EDIT: We're up to $140 a bottle now? Oh the days a few years ago when a bottle was just over one hundred USD. I'm still buying a bottle, though, and the price hikes aren't as bad as some.

Absolute love! I can smell the jasmine immediately, there is something green and stemmy for a fleeting moment and it settles into a jasmine heart with the gorgeous vanilla and Shalimar Guerlinade underneath providing it backbone and a nod to its ancestor. This is feminine, sweet, floral, non-indolic, quite modern and easy to wear. It leans fresher than the Tonka and Iris flankers, but it is not a fresh jasmine by any means. It is seductive. An absolute treasure and delight.

This is a great perfume, but... I don't think it's different enough from regular Shalimar. I love Jasmin and Shalimar is in my all time top 3, so when I saw this limited edition I immediately blind bought it. I won't go as far as saying that I'm disappointing, but I was expecting more. Last year's millesime iris was much more special in my opinion. So if you're a shalimar lover I would definitely get this, but if you're a jasmin lover, there are better perfumes out there.

This is beautiful. Such a romantic scent and it's super super strong. I did 1 spray and it is still going strong almost 10 hours later. I don't find that it is vanilla heavy and I don't get too much jasmine. It is very powdery (which I love) and it has a nostalgic vibe to it(probably reminds me of something my mom/ aunts wore when I was younger). It gives, Old Hollywood Glam girl vibes. Something maybe Sophia Loren would have rocked. Just my thoughts!

A return to form after last year’s underwhelming iris/caramel offering. Opens bright and ever so slightly pale green with the jasmine present right off the bat. The jasmine is clean and sparkling, not an indole in sight. It sweetens up as the vanilla mingles with the jasmine, giving a not quite ripe banana. A perfect lighter alternative to her heavier, gourmandish Shalimar sisters.

I first reviewed Shalimar Millésime Jasmin when it was released in Sept 2024. I was on the fence about purchasing a 2nd bottle. I'm so happy to see that it is still on the Guerlain website because I love this fragrance. I'm not sure why but these Millésimes seem to get better with age. The Jasmin in this fragrance is stunning. Second bottle purchased!

absolutely agree with previous review @LSAUG - I got Shalimar L'Essence and it's perfect, modern but Millésime Jasmin is on a higher level of quality - equal to L'Art et la Matiére I would say. The Jasmin in the opening is the best Jasmin, the most realistic ever .... and it fades quite quickly so no worries .... but the dry-down is .... woow!!!

Guerlain hit it out of the ballpark with this release. Very soft, feminine, and wearable in most any season. No indolic notes here; no leathery notes, either; I don't understand how others seem to pick up on leather. It's basically a touch of green, leading into gorgeous jasmine and vanilla. A real winner!

The reviews of this were so lukewarm that I avoided trying Shalimar millesime Jasmin until now. I’m really glad I finally gave her a whirl. This is the best Shalimar flanker of them all! It’s the real Shalimar in all her original Smokey, leathery, grown-ass glory.

I have all three of the other Millesimes. I was going to pass on this one as I really don't need another bottle of Shalimar. My resistance was weak. I just ordered a bottle on the US website. I will update with a review.

This is totally unisex.It’s not sweet but quite concentrated .I feel amber musk,resinous spicy lemony tincture with slight vanilla and aldehyde undertone.It’s perfect romantic evening scent.Very classy and elegant.

LOVE! But sometimes a bit hard to tell it's related to the soapy and fabulous Shalimar, and not very long lasting when it comes to its longevity.

On my skin, this is a softer version of Shalimar EDP with a hint of jasmine. It's beautiful and radiant feminine perfume.

I agree 100% with @PelleDicazz. Out of all the flankers, this is the truest to the original Shalimar, but a much more toned-down version. I'm not getting the guerlinade as strongly, though it is lightly there, nor am I getting the heavy amber as I do in the extrait or edp, yet it is remarkably similar. Funny, but when I first sprayed this on, I initially thought it was going to go in the direction of the Souffles because of the strong, sweet, orangey leaning bergamot, but then it evolves to a lighter version of the edp. The jasmine is very subtle and clean and not really the main feature of the scent. That's kind of disappointing because I was sure from the description that this was going to be a jasmine bomb. Still, it is there, and it is pretty, though just not as strong as I would like. Eventually, this dries down to vanilla, the guerlinade and musk, with the jasmine softly in the background, but all much, much lighter than in the edp. This actually makes me think of a warm weather version of the edp because it is missing the thick amber in the base. I guess for those, who like me have a hard time dealing with the heavy amber in the edp or are looking for a warm weather version true to the original, this would be a good choice; though there is Shalimar eau de toilette, and the more citrusy eau de cologne for that. Right now, though, I'm kind of ambivalent about this. I do like that it is toned down Shalimar with a lighter amber presence but wish that the jasmine was amped up and more pronounced. As far as performance, it's great! You will easily smell this on you until you wash it off. Even though it's not what I expected, that's on me and not the fault of the perfumer. Delphine Jelk did a wonderful job keeping this true to the Shalimar aesthetic. I'm just a little disappointed that it's not a bigger departure from the original scent, like the Initials and Souffles were. Still, it is a beautiful perfume and if you like the original Shalimar, you are sure to like this too.

Man. I smelled jasmine tea then jasmine flowers and I was loving it, but the jasmine really does disappear in 2 hours, and you can only smell it up close for half of it. The shalimar signature of incense and vanilla and darkness basically overtakes the jasmine just when it starts to get fun. If you lean in close, the jasmine is lovely, slightly indolic, and dry, like the scent of stamens inside of a real flowers; it is lush without being sweet. I really hope that the jasmine intensifies as this bottle sits or that I have a different experience next time I try this because I am not getting much of it at all. I feel this may not be worth the price of a limited edition. The rest of shalimar is there. It’s intense but not too loud. It’s definitely a more wearable shalimar, and feels more modern and sheer. However, if this smells like the EDT which I’ve never smelled but is watt cheaper then the point of getting a limited edition? Keeping my hopes up, stashing this away.

I tested it on my skin. The first phase is just an animalic jasmine (akin to Savage Jasmin by Sana Jardin). On a scale from 0 to full indolic, it scores around a 4. The green, tea-like aspects of jasmine are also noticeable, by the way. It's a natural, niche jasmine, unmistakable and unspoiled by anything. Next comes the second, powdery phase, which is very delicate, and also sweet. The fresh, slightly tea-like jasmine is still present, but it’s starting to fade. The third phase introduces a gourmand base, but much calmer in intensity compared to its iris counterpart. The base has plenty of vanilla, caramel, and even a cozy bitterness, reminiscent of a hint of coffee with chocolate. The jasmine is gone by now, but I suspect it won’t easily wash off clothes. It's a beautiful scent, no doubt. Im the meantime I'll be thinking about whether I need it or not.
