Shalimar Millesime Rose

I was lucky enough to purchase this when it was available on April 15th. I must admit, I am not a huge fan of the original Shalimar and am really just starting out on my perfume journey. Once the perfume arrived, I sampled it and wasn't initially sure how I felt. Initially, I smelled rose, incense and the original Shalimar. I had sprayed it on while wearing a shirt and cardigan. One week later, I happened to put the cardigan on again and it had the most delightful spicy rose smell! I realized that it was from the Shalimar Millesime Rose and I am now absolutely in love with this perfume! In fact, I think this will just get better with age! It lasts on me all day and I can still smell it the next morning. On my clothing, it obviously lasts until I wash it! Absolutely perfection and I am already hoping to get a back up bottle if it ever comes back into stock! The initial spray is a fresh citrusy rose with just a hint of incense. The incense really disappears fairly quickly, within 5 minutes or so and you are left with an absolutely gorgeous fresh rose for hours. As it dries down you do get the original spicy vanilla Shalimar DNA along with fresh bright rose. It is such a perfectly blended and rose centered perfume. It really smells like you are in the middle of a rose garden and maybe drinking a vanilla tea. The rose smells like fresh petals. After a few hours, it develops into lovely rosy spicy vanilla which is super sexy and somehow comforting at the same time! While it smells light and airy, it lasts absolutely forever on me! I feel that this is perfect for spring and summer but will probably also wear this one year round. It is 100% a date night perfume as well! My husband already let me know that this perfume is definitely not my grandma's rose perfume! This is just a beautiful airy, sexy spicy rose! I sure hope that this comes back into stock because as I said, I am going to need back ups!

Shalimar is not my favourite classic Guerlain, as I find it too heavy and headache inducing. I prefer L'Essence and only own a full bottle of this version. But as a new Guerlain fan and a rose fragrance lover, I had to get a bottle of Millesime Rose- and also my first limited edition Guerlain. It is a subdued version of Shalimar L'Essence + rose. But what kind of rose? Sugary, warm, powdery, almondy, backed by the Guerlain vanilla. Just the rose petals, no leaves or stem. Quite realistic and soft. I can't think of a similar mainstream rose to compare it to, it's closer to the artisanal roses I own, like Rosa Vere from Rosae Vitrus. I did not test a lot of L'Art et la Manière by Guerlain, but I did sample Rose Barbare and I'm happy to report that it's not similar at all. It's not easy to find a rose and vanilla centered fragrance that is rose dominant. It constantly evolves and changes with time and skin temperature fluctuations. The drydown is a little fruity, like a fine rosé wine with a hint of strawberry. Makes me think of summer and relaxing with a glass of wine. It might be my favourite Shalimar so far because it's the most in my style- way more floral and airy than the classic, and of course rose oriented. It's very dreamy and soft, but not bubbly and immature, and can be appreciated by women in all age groups in my opinion. Guerlain website rates its intensity as 2 out of 4 and it's accurate, but the longevity is decent. I think it will bloom very nicely in the summer heat. In fact, I think it might become my hot weather favourite, I was looking for a rose fragrance like this.

I've owned Rose Cherie, i also have currently got a bottle of both Rose Centifolia Extrait and French Kiss from Guerlain. . And i can concur that it does resemble all the above. Mostly it's reminds me Rose Cherie, and despite decluttering that fragrance a long time ago, I'm quite happy to have this one. Rose Cherie always seemed to heavy on the Heliotrope, and would have a baby wipe/ baby powder background that i just couldn't enjoy. This one doesn't, it actually feels much prettier and softer and more delicate. I don't personally get any Shalimar DNA at all, which is a shame because i do think this fragrance is too light and having more Shalimar within it would give it a soul. . More Wellie if that makes sense. It feels like it's missing something at the heart of it. Really it's not a Shalimar, more of a Rose Cherie with softer touches and smooth almond. Aside from all that, it does have a lovely big Rose in the opening and mid which definitely reminds me of Rose Centifolia Extrait, but it does seem to get more transparent towards the dry down. . Could just be my chemistry of course. Very pleased with blind buying it however, it's definitely up my street and I've worn it most days since ordering it from Guerlain UK. If your a fan of the similar fragrances mentioned, it's definitely a safe blind buy, but don't expect a loud shouty fragrance is all. Another beauty from Guerlain 🌹

I went into this one fully prepared not to like it. I’m selective with rose — anything dusty, potpourri‐adjacent, metallic, or screechy is an instant no for me. Jammy roses can go syrupy and suffocating on me, so I wasn’t expecting much beyond polite curiosity. But Shalimar Rose surprised me in the best way. From the very first spray, the Shalimar DNA is unmistakable: that flicker of incense, the slight “burning citrus” sensation, and the familiar amber‐vanilla backbone. It’s softened and modernized but still recognizably Shalimar. The rose enters as a brief jammy glow, adding color and sweetness without turning sticky or heavy. It’s plush for a moment, then seamlessly folds into the composition instead of dominating it. What impressed me most is the balance. The rose is smooth, rounded, and never veers into potpourri or sharpness. The incense is clean, not smoky. The sweetness is present but never cloying. Everything feels intentional and well‐crafted, with none of the harsh edges or clunky weight. And the bottle — with that ambery-pink juice — is beautiful. It visually matches the scent: warm light passing through rose jam. Millesime Iris remains my favorite. But I ended up liking this far more than I expected. It’s elegant, delightful, and surprisingly refined. My partner also loves it. He said I should definitely keep this one. 😘 Bravo, Guerlain 💐

An absolute gem, I'm hoping to purchase a backup bottle if Guerlain restocks. I can certainly understand why Shalimar purists would be displeased... yet that's exactly why I adore Millesime Rose. The rich incense and vanilla base that I love about Shalimar is present, but none of the more difficult elements (some have described as "burnt tire" or "gasoline") that make Shalimar iconically Shalimar. Millesime Rose to me has nothing to do with Rose Chérie, which I also own and love. There is certainly a candied rose aspect to Millesime Rose, but it's much deeper... "jammy" even. It reminds me more of my beloved discontinued "Rose Absolue" by Yves Rocher and Aerin's "Evening Rose". It is deeply romantic, poetic, and somewhat melancholy, like what Marianne Dashwood might wear from Jane Austen's "Sense and Sensibility" while Rose Chérie would be favored by the more frivolous social butterfly Emma Woodhouse. I adore them both, but for very different moods. Patchouli is a note I struggle with, such as found in Frédéric Malle's "Portrait of a Lady" but in Millesime Rose it is very slight, subtle, adding depth to this beautiful and elegant scent. All in all, this is my favorite Shalimar yet and I am delighted to have it in my collection!

I’m still in my beginning journey as a rose perfume wearer. I tend to take “baby steps”. I don’t hate rose, per se, I just haven’t preferred it. (Okay. Some I hate.) I was introduced to Rose Cherie earlier this year and found it easy to wear, pleasant. It has grown into a love over the past few months. So, when I saw this newest Shalimar Millesime flanker compared to it, I jumped. Shalimar Millesime Rose opens right off the jump smelling similar to Rose Cherie. The slightly tangy, a bit sour, a bit sparkly bergamot/rose interplay—instantly familiar. That fades shortly and a vanilla note emerges, gentle, restrained. (The resemblance to Rose Cherie is gone by this point.) The rose is the star of the show, light and watery, delicate. Soft. For a beginner rose girlie, this is perfect. As it dries down, I do smell the Shalimar DNA. It’s there. It’s just beneath the surface, peeking in and out amongst the roses. I smell it, it shifts away, a rose pushing to the fore only to emerge again on another sniff. Immensely wearable for rose lovers and newcomers alike.

This is MAGNIFICENT!!! I don’t understand the comments from people who “don’t detect Shalimar”. This is a wonderful Millesime. I can see where LPRN would’ve been inspired by Shalimar; this actually feels like a beautiful bridge of Shalimar L’Essence and LPRN Rose Rose Rose. It’s sublime and delicate, but still has the “Great Dame” in a restrained and more relaxed manner. I can smell the gorgeous vanilla leather undertones, while the symphony of honeyed and fruity roses elevate in the forefront. At first sniff, it did remind me of Rose Amira, and Rose Centifolia Extrait; this, however, is still very much Shalimar. It’s the second Millesime to bring me so much emotion, after Vanilla Planifolia. Millesime Tonka was my second favorite, but has been dethroned by this one. My personal order of Millesimes: Vanilla Planifolia > Rose > Tonka > Iris > Jasmine. I’m thoroughly thrilled that my expectations were far exceeded and that I feel so happy by this acquisition. I anticipate I’ll be wearing this nonstop for the next few weeks.

HEAVEN! I agree with Leeali: this is not really a Shalimar. It's a blissful, almondy rose on a bed of the softest incense and vanilla. I had tried Rose Cherie, another Guerlain almond rose, and Shalimar Millésime Rose is everything I had hoped Rose Cherie would be. Here the almond is much better balanced with the rose, and the overall vibe of SMR is much more "now" as opposed to Rose Cherie's slightly retro slant. The rose here is utterly gorgeous, edible but not gourmand, effortlessly sensual, gentle but unforgettable, contemporary but timeless. There is no honey listed, but in the drydown I almost get a honey note, along with that sweet incense and lots of rose of course. Projection is only moderate, which some may see as a downside. On the other hand, it also makes this a treat that can be indulged in almost anytime, anywhere. Longevity is very good.

First Impression - One of best rose fragrances I have ever smelled. Possibly, because it so different from many of the other rose fragrances I own. Some of my favorites are Gris Dior, Portrait of a Lady, Rose Spendide, La Fille de Berlin, Galop d'Hermes and Chanel Coco. SMR is luminous and rosy but tempered by a smokey vanilla. It is luminous not bright. There is a difference. Shalimar DNA is present but it performs as a backdrop to the leading lady. It is actually what a Shalimar Millesime ought to be in my mind. It is beautifully sweet. It isn't cotton candyland but I kind of picture a spun honeyed rose fluff. Patchouli is listed in the notes but this is not a traditional rose patchouli fragrance. Thank you Delphine Jelk! I will enjoy wearing Shalimar Millesime Rose!

Where to begin? Ohlala que c’est magnifique! Delphine Jelk did it again after the gorgeous L’essence. This is such an intoxicating, alluring, elevated, sexy scent. I feel cocooned in loveliness and sophistication when I wear this. The rose here isn’t too exuberant or heady, rather a tad subdued— incensed yet candy-like with the creamy almond, hint of bergamot, and patchouli along with the vanilla to smooth it all out. Pure class in a bottle. I find that Delphine Jelk’s style has been to take the classics and reintroduce them the newer generations so Guerlain is a house that welcomes the youthful and the mature. So, I’m not sure if this is for the die-hard classic Shalimar fan per se, but its composition is perfect for a mid-30s Guerlain girly like me :)

Wow what a scent! The initial mix of sweet rose with the freshness of bergamot is something I've never experienced before - it was mixed so well. Lovely scent. For those who love it for this you may be disappointed that it doesn't dry down and stay this way. Instead it becomes powdery and more rose forward slowly and this was initially a bit disappointing. But then it slowly changed into a third scent which was vanilla and a hint of rose! Lovely again. So over 5-6 hours I had three, interesting scents from the same bottle but all had the theme of rose. Sillage and lasting power is good - I've worn it now for 5 hours and I can still smell it.

Maybe my favorite perfume purchase this year (still quite early lol) From the begging I could smell Shalimar L'Essance DNA. It's beautifully mixed up with rose and violets. Given the fact the notes it's quite sweet and jammy rose but in a really beautiful elegant way. I'm starting to like rose note since after Le Cri became one of my favorite perfumes I open up more to try rose centered perfumes so I even bought this one blindly but not for a sec regret it. Unfortunately other Millesime versions that I tried are only Iris and Jasmin. Didn't like either of them. Iris smelt really cheap to me and Jasmin was basic.

Shalimar is such a dynamic fragrance. For those saying they “don’t detect Shalimar,” I suspect they just haven’t spent enough time with it. This feels like Shalimar on a warm day when the citrus and florals fully open up on the skin. But above all, this is a proper rose flanker. Ms. Delk really said, “let them have rose,” and I’m absolutely here for it. Millesime Rose is saturated with it so much so that I catch traces of some of my favorite roses: Rose Chérie, Parfait de Roses, and Rose Rouge. This one is a win for me easily my second favorite in the line, right behind Iris.

Initial thoughts: Spicy, peppery rose in the opening. Mellows down to a sweet, candy-like rose but not jammy. Shalimar DNA is detected in the middle. The drydown is an airy, powdery rose with notes of a rose water and lemon sherbet. A very pretty, romantic rose scent, if I’m honest. You can detect the powdery Shalimar DNA in the background but it’s a rose perfume through and through. Edit: on second wear, I can detect more of the Shalimar DNA in the drydown and it smells like rose icing sugar on my skin today.

Beautiful release from Guerlain. Shalimar Rose offers a softer, more contemporary interpretation of the iconic Shalimar. The composition feels smoother and more approachable, with a refined rose nuance that makes it easy to wear day-to-day. Elegant without being overpowering, it’s well-suited for the office and aligns well with modern fragrance preferences. There’s really no justification for discontinuing a fragrance like this within a year - it fills a unique space between heritage and modern wearability.

Managed to score a bottle during the latest restock. It's a love for me. Reviews are correct, the rose is quite similar to the one in Rose Centifolia Extrait. You get the best parts of that perfume minus the heavy suffocating patch in the drydown. A bit of Shalimar DNA in the opening but then to me shalimar disappears in the drydown. The drydown smells like rose custard to me. Backup bottle worthy IMO, even though I don't do backups.

This is absolutely gorgeous! At first sniff it really sparked the memory of Lancôme’s parfait de roses but dare I say this is prettier. The dry down is what I’m absolutely in love with the most. Almondy sweet rose with gorgeous powdery notes. This is absolute masterpiece! I might have to get back up bottle. This also reminds me a lot of Tom Ford Rose d’Amalfi but more sweet more almonds and just overall better blended composition.

Shalimar Millésime Rose is officially launched in France as of Monday. For the UK, it’s likely launching this week, but unfortunately, I have no news for the US and rest of the world. Whoever has tried this, could you please share your thoughts? Edit, 7 Apr: Called Guerlain and they still don't have stock in the UK yet. Edit, 8 Apr: Available on Guerlain UK website and launching in the Guerlain Covent Garden boutique on Friday.

Millesime Rose will be a new gate into the garden of Shalimar, only if Guerlain doesn’t shoot itself in the foot by producing too few bottles. My obsession with the franchise began with Vanilla Planifolia and quickly escalated. I suspect Rose, due to its gentle and wearable character, will become a reason more younger folks join the fandom. I am not a huge fan of rose, but the version of rose in this flanker is simply superb.

I can definitely smell Shalimar in this but it's a softer, more contemporary version of it. I personally prefer it to the OG Shalimar which is too powdery for me. The rose is quite similar to Rose Amira but here it is surrounded by a fluffy cloud of loukhoum like sweetness. They are different enough to justify owng both. I love Rose Amira and I love this too. This is a beautiful creation from the house of Guerlain.

Oh this is so beautiful! It may be my favorite Millésime. It’s not exactly Rose Chérie meets l’Essence, but the rose is sweet and light with a lovely almond around the edges and it’s definitely built around the now familiar structure of Essence, just as the other Millesimes are. There’s absolutely nothing heavy about this fragrance, but it still has quality and depth. It is soft, feminine and elegant.

A refined twist on the iconic Shalimar DNA, where rose softens the classic vanilla and smoky base. The opening feels luminous and slightly powdery, with a gentle floral sweetness rather than a bold rose statement. It stays elegant, smooth, and wearable less intense than the original, but still unmistakably Shalimar. Perfect for those who want a softer, more romantic interpretation

Faint Shalimar DNA. Closer to Oud Nude and L’Essence. If you had to mix both, it will probably smell like this. It kept the vanilla, almond and rose from Oud Nude, removed the weird funk note and added L’Essence. It is absolutely beautiful! It lingers on skin but doesn’t project that much. It turns sweeter as it dries.

Love it! Need a backup bottle. It's not a heavy rose that smothers you, just delicate and there. It literally lasts all day on me. I can actually feel the unveiling of each note on me. It's very classy. I do hope they don't drop it by the wayside. I feel it should be in the lineup. Give it test if you can.

This flanker impresses me so much. An otherworldly blend of rose, vanilla, and incense. Good longevity and projection. Goes straight to my wishlist!

Its usual Shalimar DNA. Didn't smell much rose not sure.

I had been eagerly waiting for this to drop and with every review, I would feel a rush of anxious excitement mounting. Haven’t really read a mild review on this. It’s either some holy grail fragrance or an utterly plain, uninspired Shalimar flanker. But now that I’ve had it, I can confidently say that...it’s good. Could’ve been better, but it’s good. Hey, maybe not all scents can be winners. And it doesn’t mean I don’t like this fragrance at all. On my first actual wear of the fragrance, I had immediately picked up on the very plush, very enveloping signature of Jelk’s Guerlain Rose (the trademark of both RC1 and RA), brightened with vanilla and a clear citrus note. This was what I wished RA would be, not smothered in incense and something bitter that I couldn’t really care for despite going through my decant with the urgency of someone who desperately wants to gaslight themselves into liking the fragrance. I was very excited for this as the scent deepened with more of an almondy sweetness over the course of maybe an hour to an hour and a half. As I went about my day at work, the scent becomes a rather dusty Pink Shalimar over the next four to five hours of my shift. It wasn’t really ideal but I couldn’t say it was a bad fragrance. It didn’t envelope my senses and I would catch whiffs of it as I moved about, but never really leapt out from my skin the way I wanted to, but I knew that the scent bubble wasn’t as intimate as I may have perceived since people could still smell something on me. I was sad that all I smelled was powder without any of the rose, which was the beautiful scent I had been chasing after. I was ready to call it a day and note that it would need retesting some other day, because I tend to pick up scents and profiles much better with more exposure, but when I headed out to dinner, a little bit of magic happened. As I was walking along the warm streets at night, the wind blowing ever so slightly, I smelled SMR as it was at the very beginning of the day. Though not as bright or sweet, the Jelk Trademark Rose unfurls for one last brilliant time over the course of light dinner with a friend. Though sadly, it seemed that air conditioning froze the flower back up to closing. Hahaha. I feel like I will update this review once I’ve done one more wear, maybe a day out in a place not as frigid as the office, maybe the rose would thrive their more, but as it stands, SMR has two distinct faces and good lord I wish the rush of the first part could’ve stayed for longer with no issue!

From the very first spray, it’s simply Shalimar l’Essence, with its powdery vanilla and incense. Contrary to what I’ve read in earlier comments, the Shalimar DNA is immediately recognizable. Still, I can’t help but wonder - where is this promised rose everyone talks about? It takes about five minutes to reveal itself. A magnificent oriental rose emerges, blending with that divine powdery vanilla. Shalimar remains an Eastern beauty, but now she leans toward rose-infused delights - always with great delicacy, though. Don’t expect anything overly sweet or heavy here; this feels like a soft rain of rose petals. Unfortunately, this moment of bliss is short-lived. On my skin, the vanilla quickly and quite forcefully takes over, pushing the rose into the background. On the blotter, the rose lasts longer - around one to two hours - but it eventually fades as well, giving way to the vanilla. Without the rose, it’s essentially just the Essence version again - which, to me, makes this feel more like a flanker than a true Millésime of the original. In the end, it’s a very beautiful fragrance, but the fleeting nature of the rose is an issue for me. If I’m buying a rose Millésime, I expect it to take center stage and embody the fragrance’s opulence - not to fade behind the other notes. Definitely one to test on skin to see how it reacts. You might be luckier than I was.

By comparison to a lot of new releases, it is very good. I feel that it has the dna of Shalimar, but not the personality, if it makes sense. It is also closer to l’Essence than the original, as everything is very smoothed out. I also liked the opening much more than the drydown, when you can start to smell the amberwoods. The rose is predominantly centifolia, transitioning from jammy sweet and even candied in the beginning, reminding me in the opening of Rose Cherie, to more soapy clean facets towards the mid and drydown. The far drydown is very similar to that of Oud Nude. I do not sense any incense in the regular sense. However, despite its interesting debut the word that came to my mind was “gimmicky”, as I felt like it’s missing something and the association of the realm of Shalimar with the jammy candied rose and amberwood seems a little forced. The recycled many aspects of other creations of the house but I have to say I do not like at all the synthetic bases they are working with at the moment, as you can recognise them in cheaper fragrances, but the rose accords they used are quite natural smelling, very similar to my rosa centifolia natural oils. As I said before, this is a very critical analysis of the scent, a dissection, although the overall scent if beautiful and worthy. In conclusion, I like it, but it is not a must buy for me at the moment.

My first impression is, of course, that it is very lovely - it is a Shalimar, after all. Soft Shalimar with a soft, kind of oldfashioned rose. I have tried it on an hour ago, with traces of another perfume left on my arms. I will put on some more when I go to sleep tonight, and then tomorrow. We will see, then... Waking up at 6 am to go to the laundry room - and I feel SUGAR on my wrists! Or maybe some jam made with bergamott and rose petals. With extra powdered sugar on top. No Shalimar to my nose. Makes me quite angry. Well, I will put on some more, and see how it developes during the morning. I sense that it goes into a body cream feeling - lovely of course, but it is not so much of a Shalimar as one would expect. I will still use it much, but more as a casual nice fragrance, not as a masterpiece, which is how I feel about Millesime Jasmin! That one is my absolute favourite of all Shalimar’s. ( Unfortunately, I have not tried the Tonka or the Iris. ) So; verdict: for me, this is a slight disappointment, that I still like/love. P.S.: it is extremely weak - not what you would expect from a Shalimar!! No sillage, no longevity. Only a little vague something, if I put my nose to my skin, and then respray several times during the day. Not worth the money - but at least I am glad I got mine for quite a good price.

The first time I spritzed this on right out of the mail, I mostly got a linear sweet dewy jammy rose (neither metallic or too powdery). My nose couldn't find the Shalimar connection, and the scent felt a little cloying (I'll admit rose isn't always my favorite note, so I was always going to be a hard sell on this one... but they won me over with Jasmine last year). Today, I applied a half spritz and... hello, Shalimar! The rose still is the primary note, but now the Guerlinade is shining through and balancing it out, and I'm getting a hint of toasty almond. I don't know if this wears better in a lower dosage, or if it just needed time to settle (I'm secretly hoping that it continues to develop over time), but it's starting to win me over. For the record, my personal Shalimar ranking (based on subjective enjoyment, not the artistry): Millesime Iris > L'Essence > Shalimar Cologne > Parfum Initial L'Eau > Millesime Tonka > Millesime Jasmine > Souffle de Lumiere > Millesime Rose > Souffle Intense > OG Shalimar (the animalic amber in the original does not sit right on my skin, it's a tragedy)

I really like this one, it’s soft, pretty, and super wearable 💕 but I have to be honest... it’s not as “Shalimar-ish” as I expected. I was hoping for more of that deep, iconic Shalimar richness, and this one leans a bit lighter and more delicate. To me, it comes off quite powdery, almost like a rosy cloud with a vintage touch. It’s nice, just a little more powder-forward than I usually go for. That said, you can definitely smell that classic Guerlain DNA peeking through. That signature “Guerlain’ade” is there, wrapping everything in that familiar, comforting warmth. Honestly, it feels like Guerlain said: “let them have rose”, and they delivered exactly that 🌹 I do enjoy it, and I think it has potential to grow on me. I’m going to let it sit and macerate a bit more, wear it in different weather, and really give it time to bloom on my skin. Sometimes these Guerlain beauties just need a moment to fully reveal themselves ✨ Overall: pretty, powdery, and elegant , just not the bold Shalimar twist I was expecting (yet!).

This is a gentle version of Shalimar, like a Shalimar light. While original Shalimar is for fall/winter or evening, this version is suitable for daytime and spring/summer. I have Nahema, Guerlain's spicy rose scent, and I don't really smell rose here, maybe because of the blending. I would still classify this fragrance as an oriental. It has a lovely spice component. The top note is more pleasant to me than original Shalimar; it has a great middle note, but the base note is not quite as alluring as original Shalimar. I definitely like it and am glad it's now part of my fragrance collection. It is difficult to get in the US. Guerlain US has been out of it for a while. I had to purchase it on eBay. It appears that a fragrance of the same name was released in the 1990's. Does anyone else know about this? It is also for sale on eBay as a vintage item. I purchased the newly released version. Has anyone ever had or tried the older version?

I was in Rotterdam today, shopping mall Alexandrië. I went into a perfume shop and a sales rep from Guerlain was there asking me if he could help me. I said no, as I was looking for their new scent. He smiled and said: “No, we are not selling it, yet, in The Netherlands but I do have a tester of it. I can’t give it to you but I can let you smell it.” This is my lucky day!!! I had been looking for it for a few days now and only Guerlain is selling it now on the webshop for a few days. And so I was lucky enough to have smelt it. It’s a sweet (not meaning sugery but in kind, uplifting and innocent) scent, not hard or loud. The longlivety is 2 hours but it may be longer when it’s warmer. Like for now, maybe love when the temperatures go up (I think it’s a summer scent). I know for sure I want to buy it. Btw. In 2 years time there will be a very special scent / edition coming out with their aniversary!!!

This one has grown on me and rounded out in the 2 months I’ve had it. When it first arrived it felt thin and rosey and quite sweet. Nice. Millesime Jasmin is my fav so it felt a bit disappointing by comparison. However I’m pleased that time sitting has allowed it to settle and it now feels more rounded and full. The thinness has gone. The Shalimar dna is there. And while the rose is present and is the wrapping. The heart is Shalimar with the bergamot dialled all the way down. Soft lemon touches, white musk rolls over the very soft characteristic skank that draws you in and asks you to rub your face against it. She’s silent assassin and you really don’t see her coming. Very beautiful. Performance for me 2 hours in feels pretty good. I can smell it fluttering around me (it’s winter here) and not overpowering. So far so good.

It is a Shalimar. But maybe it is not to those who are not willing to give it more than 15 minutes. On paper it starts off with a fresh rose water note, that is somewhat powdery, but on skin the note disappears just moments after as it shows its face. But the fruity rose remains a flower, not jam, not gourmand. It is all roses, different types of roses, for the first 15 mins. This rose garden is embellished with incense and patchouli. After half an hour the Shalimar DNA really announces its presence. Unlike other flankers, the opponax here is thicker and stronger, and compliments what remains of the roses very well in the dry down. I wear Shalimar and L'Essence confidently as a man. Not sure I can pull this off, though I admire it's beauty. Please, give it more than 15 minutes.

The Shalimar DNA sits quite far in the background here. What stands out instead is a powdery and slightly sweetened rose, and which reminded me of Parfait de Roses but it doesn’t have the same strength or projection. It feels like a delicately crafted Guerlain interpretation. On its own, i find it elegant and enjoyable. However, placing it within the Shalimar Millesime line is somewhat debatable. While graceful, calling this a true 'Shalimar Millesime' feels like a stretch. If u’re looking for a recognizable Shalimar signature, it’s not easy to find here😅 Rose lovers may appreciate it but those expecting a clear Shalimar identity might end up disappointed🤍

I just happened to wear Rose Cherie yesterday and today, wearing Millesime Rose, I can de-influence myself that I need Rose Cherie at L'art matiere prices. (The same happened with Millesime Jasmin and Jasmin Bonheur). Yes, they are not the "same", but they are definitely transmitting the same vibe! I would say it has little of the Shalimar DNA, sitting in the background, nevertheless, it's mainly a lipsticky rose scent for younger audience.

Beautiful rose/vanilla fragrance. It's very lovely, not intruding at all. It definitely lost some of the shalimar DNA though, very rounded and soft spoken. I find projection and longevity a bit less than ideal, but it would be a great office perfume.

As someone who strongly dislikes rose forward fragrances I must say that this is one stunning rose perfume. A little bit powdery and a tiny bit sweet from vanilla. Guerlain like, elegant and serious. Beautiful!

There's definitely Shalimar in there, but softer, without its vintage edge -- a contemporary siren. The rose is very pretty and delicate. I like it.

It is in stock again on the US website! I just ordered a bottle - will edit this with my thoughts once it comes.

This is a lovely candy rose vanilla scent, soft and girly, perfect for spring, but had I blind-sniffed it, my first thought would probably not have been "Shalimar!", but "Oooh, Portrait of a Lady Legere - what a great idea!" Yes, the basic Shalimar architecture of bright top citrus and dark vanilla patchouli is there, but the animalic drama and the complex tension between sparkling top citruses and a smoky leather base have been notably omitted/minimised here. Millesime Rose possesses a certain duality, but it is more like artful layering of freshness and sweetness than a genius rendition of the push-pull Shalimar drama. To my nose, she is quite gourmand and sends off very pleasant whiffs of delicate Turkish delight on ice for the first few hours , until settling to a warm and comforting powdery vanilla dry down (I didn't find performance issues that others mention), which is probably my favourite part. I will enjoy my sample and I am sure many people will appreciate her just as she is, but I don't think I'll be adding a full bottle to my collection.

I'm truly baffled by this scent. I've worn it for two days now and I really don't get it. First 20-30 seconds are quite uplifting with a fairly light rose, but thereafter more like potpourri or those sheets you use for lining shelves or drawers. Incense is non-existent and after half an hour all I'm left we is some faint, sweetish smell of middle eastern candy. To be fair, I do smell Shalimar mixed with rosewater for about 15 minutes, but after that just this vague almondy sweetness. After less than two hours it's all gone and I start wondering if I was just imagining putting on the perfume. But I've reapplied more times now with the exact same result. Zip zero nada, not even a trace left. Maybe it's my skin chemistry, but I kind of doubt it as I cannot smell it on my clothes either. Never experienced a perfume vanishing this quick before and I certainly didn't expect a Shalimar flanker to do a complete Houdini like that. Better luck next time, Guerlain.

Something essential feels lost in this Shalimar translation. The opening doesn’t bloom into that unmistakable Shalimar aura and the dry down does not celebrate the original DNA. Instead, we get a modern rose that is softened, slightly incense-laced, and wrapped in a creamy, almost ice-cream sweetness. It is pretty, but it feels designed, carefully sanded down to be liked. There’s a sense that Guerlain is reaching for a wider audience here, smoothing the edges that made Shalimar iconic in the first place. They already walked this path with Shalimar L’Essence, and this feels like a continuation of that philosophy. But Shalimar isn’t meant to be easy. It’s meant to be a little dangerous, a little aloof, a little smoky in the corner of the room. This Shalimar does not dare. While the other Millésimes managed to preserve the Shalimar soul, this one seems relegated to its shadow.
