Shalimar Yellow Gold Limited Edition

Dear DomfromBE, I'm still not sure I understand what you tried to explain, however I appreciate your effort. The thing is I have the Gold Shalimar edition as pictured above, in the EDP concentration. Apparently in the meanwhile the editors changed the main photo of the box, which said 50 ml EDT, and replaced it with the golden bottle alone. The text is also in line with what I have (50 ml of EDP). Now it all seems right from my perspective.

Can anyone confirm whether this is, in fact, regular Shalimar edp in a limited edition bottle? The reason I'm compelled to ask is because I'm a Shalimar fanboy and this TRULY doesn't smell the same to me... It's a bit heavier on the leather / incense / civet than even my VINTAGE bottles and extraits... I LOVE IT... wish I could score another bottle... Someone in the know... Please fill us in on this formulation...?? MANY THANKS! 🙂

I am a bit confused with the photo provided: the one showing two size bottles and the navy, printed box. On the box it says Eau de Toilette. The text description says it's an 50ml EDP, just like my box says... Does it mean that there are two versions of the "Gold" Shalimar?

Versione piu' concentrata e opulenta rispetto l'attuale EDP. Una limited che va' custodita gelosamente con un design di tutto rispetto. Rating Yellow Gold Limited edition: 10/10

It seems to me more concentrated than the original EDP,I feel it "darker",but it is divine!

Vanillastorm40: Shalimar "classic" is oriental perfume based on vanilla and "burnt rubber". Any concentration perfume, EDP, EDT, cologne are very similar and not anyone can wear it. I can not. Those who can normally crazy fall in love with it. Then Guerlain house new perfumer Thierry Wasser issued few flankers. The "morning" flankers are: - Eau de Shalimar - Shalimar Cologne (do not confuse it with Shalimar cologne from above). Those I can wear and love. They are discontinued. You still can find Shalimar Cologne at a pretty reasonable price. Then there were few flankers of Shalimar Initial. I also adore it. I think it is a best Shalimar for me. Those are discontinued and expensive. After that Shalimar Souffle flankers started. They are available for sale now in few versions. I am not a fan of them, but they are still much more wearable than classic Shalimar. Some say that those are the best versions of Shalimar. Hope it helps.

Very new to collecting fragrances. Can anyone explain house of Guerlain and all the different perfumes? Like Shalimar EDP, EDT, etc. They all seem to be around the same price too on different sites. I'm a VANILLA EXTREMIST, love spice scents too.

@ Nomen They released an EDT and a 30 ml Perfume (I had it). It's Shalimar as it was depending on the actual batch of th year in another (limited edition) bottle, as they did with EDP in Art Deco, Black...

I love that bottle. Yes, it's a bottle of 1925 ! I remember I bought it when I was a little girl at this time ! ;-)
