As a tobacco fragrance enthusiast, I’ll give you the most honest and detailed breakdown of this fragrance so you can have a clear idea of how it smells before deciding to purchase it. Price & Value: At $150–$180, the pricing is excellent for a fragrance from Guerlain. For the level of quality and craftsmanship you’re getting, it’s a very fair price point and relatively accessible compared to many niche tobacco fragrances. Scent Quality & Composition: The quality here is undeniably high. This is easily one of the smoothest Tobacco/Raspberry combinations on the market. The opening starts with a sweet raspberry note that brings a slightly fruity brightness, accompanied by a cherry-like tobacco accord in the background. At this stage, the tobacco is still relatively light and not fully developed. The raspberry can feel a bit sharp or harsh for the first 10–15 minutes, which is why many people judge the fragrance too quickly based only on the opening. Once the fragrance settles, the real character begins to appear. A smooth, realistic DRY tobacco note emerges and blends beautifully with animalic ambergris, giving the scent a deeper and slightly sensual edge. Just when the composition begins to feel darker, vanilla steps in to soften everything, smoothing the blend and adding warmth. The result is a beautifully balanced and well-crafted composition. Comparisons & DNA: This fragrance reminds me somewhat of Dolce & Gabbana Velvet Zafferano and Dior Tobacolor , although it maintains its own identity. Performance & Compliment Factor: Performance is extremely strong. On my skin, I easily get 10+ hours of solid wear, followed by another 4–5 hours as a skin scent. Projection is powerful, so go easy on the sprays. Because of that strength and the darker dry tobacco profile....this fragrance fits fall and winter best. While it leans unisex, the dry-down feels slightly more masculine due to the mature tobacco and animalic ambergris combination. In terms of compliments, I haven’t received many. In fact most people with more “basic” noses didn’t really enjoy it. This is definitely not a crowd-pleaser. Instead it’s a fragrance for people who truly appreciate complex tobacco scents, like I do, and understand when and how to wear them. It requires a specific mood and taste to fully enjoy. In the air, however, it smells very refined, mature, and well-blended. Because of that, I wouldn’t recommend it for a younger crowd. This is definitely a mature fragrance that feels more suited to someone with a more developed taste in perfumery. Overall, I’d give it a 9/10. I enjoy it a lot, and I’ll definitely give it a few more wears to see if it grows on me even more.

Well, this is a smoother, more elegant, and more fem leaning sibling of Killian's Smoking Hot, and as it dries down it will also remind you of Creed's Centaurus. If you like any of these two, you need to check it out. The raspberry opening is nose-grabbing, perhaps too impressive for some noses, and soon after that the rosy nuances start to appear. For the first hour of its journey, the scent is Smoking Hot but pink instead of green. The tobacco is not as upfront in Tabac Sahara, but it's pretty much the same thing in the air. Apple shisha is too distinct of a scent, but having worn that one quite a few times, all I kept thinking with this one was "Berry shisha, cool!" They share enough aromachemicals to make this smell like a flanker to SH. The rose accord is not very prominent, but it elevates the pinkness of the blend, so some people will find it feminine. But, because of the tobacco/shisha accord, it is less feminine than something like Angel's Share Paradis. As it evolves you start to notice a good dose of ambergris which stays present for more than 10 hours on your skin and smells fantastic, it really fits the profile, never going too intense, too salty, but really enhancing the skin scent. Also, you get this amber accord that for some reason makes this smell like Centaurus without the cinnamon red hots aspect, also a great fit for the profile. Performance is fantastic, and apart from the opening which might be hitting too hard for some, this is a great blend. For the price, it is FANTASTIC and I would realy consider getting this if I didn't own Smoking Hot. I can't wait for another full test wear in October/November where I'm sure this will shine.

I am a sucker for Guerlain - the classics, the aqua allegoria line, the oriental line, and of course the luxury ones. Tabac Sahara is nothing like anything tobacco I've ever smelled - and the reason why that is, is because the combination of raspberry, citruses, tobacco, rose oil and red berries bring, I'd say, a new facade to tobacco fragrances. With a creamy raspberry tart-like opening, diving into a deep veil of strong smoke infused with rose, then to a relaxing finish of ambery vanilla and a hint of wood, this piece is a glorious take on fruits and tobacco in the actual juice. While I'm not exactly sure why they'd call it "Sahara", since the smell is not at all suggestive of desertic dryness, I think that it's a lovely play on what the wearer expects - something dry, heavy on tobacco or smoke, and then after the first spray... it envelops the wearer into a lovely fruity and smoky journey. Congrats to Guerlain for this amazing piece. 10/10.

The scent trail of this is sexy as f. As a fan of tobacco note, when I first got this and sprayed it, I wasn’t impressed or wowed. I was like, “Okay, not bad.” I felt it was too dry and cough syrupy, but still unique. Over time, though, the scent began to grow on me. Wow. The smell in the air, especially when you don’t overspray it, is so glorious. I find this unisex enough, and the performance is superb. At least 10hrs on skin. The tobacco note is leafy and dry. The opening is syrupy, with something like plum or davana peeking through. You can also smell the raspberry accord in the background, and it adds mystery to the scent. I can also detect a salty nuance as this dries down, and it’s also very noticeable when you sniff the atomizer. I think it’s from the ambergris accord. This one might not be an instant love for many people, but I’m sure over time, it’ll grow on anyone who dislikes it at first.

My dreams have come true. I had long wished to find a perfume with my beloved tobacco note: vividly expressed, yet sweetly feminine. Usually, perfumes with a clearly pronounced tobacco note either lean masculine, lacking enough sweetness, or, if they are sweet, they often sound very oriental-beautiful, but not always suitable or wearable everywhere. This perfume, however, manages to be both richly tobacco and feminine, and it leans more European than oriental. It’s mystical, enveloping, intriguing, sensual, and stylish. At first, I notice a lot of tobacco, smokiness, and an abstract sweetness. Then it softens, becoming smoother and more fluid. The initial brightness of the tobacco fades fairly quickly (I do wish it lingered as powerfully as it does right after spraying), leaving behind a pleasant, sweet, more concrete raspberry note, whose depth is beautifully conveyed in tandem with warm amber.

I purchased blind, as usual, since I am a devout Guerlain fan. And let me tell you: Ms. Jelk has concocted yet another masterpiece! This one is much different than the preceding scents in this line. There is not nearly as much woodiness at the base. The opening of this scent is not my favorite. It is still growing on me, however. The dry down on the other hand is sublime! The fragrance is without a doubt a gourmet take on tobacco. I can't help but think of a sweet, fresh, raspberry (rather than cherry) pipe tobacco; the tobacco sweetness before being smoked. Yet after an hour or two of wear, the smokiness appears, but doesn't take over the fresh sweet smell. I guess the best way I can describe this beauty is the scent of a vintage pipe tobacco store. Love it!

Remote sounds of rough voices and caravans with dusty smoked old leather saddles on camels; Fragrance of dry tabac and fruit, spices and dark velvet rose petals ready to be gifted to the immortal Fata Morgana Is this real or just a desert dream?! * A very smooth natural coherent composition, warm and comforting, more for cooler months but last evening un full summer it was simply beautiful, was love at first sniff. The raspberry feels more like a sirupy plum (not bubble gum to me) indeed and the rose is just horgeous fine and powdery coming at the end of the middle notes, the base is ambery slightly smokey (no camp fire though). A bit feminine but not too sweet, still unisex Guerlain outdid itself!!! Instant love

But my gosh c’mon people .. learn to appreciate a good high quality fragrance ..... I will be purchasing Jasmin Grandiflorum extrait 30.... Yes full price . I’m beginning to fall in love with house . Crazy I’ve never gave it that much attention before . The quality , performance , deep exotic scent ... 100x yes . We spend more on fragrances that are not even close to this... sometimes you’re paying for the hype and the brand . Other times you do get what you pay for .

The man at Guerlain (bless his heart) gave me 4 samples of Tabac Sahara, which I loved and used up very quickly. Guerlain is just so good at what they do, I'm surprised this is a 2026 fragrance. The fragrance opens up with a smoky raspberry that is intense, but settles down as it dries onto the skin. The tobacco is beautiful in this and the raspberry helps lift the note, however I do think it is a little too smoky as I can almost feel it in my throat if I breathe in too hard whilst spraying. This is a very, very sexy perfume- the tobacco is just so alluring and the sharp sweet citrus makes this perfect as a night fragrance.

I smelled Tobacco Sahara in store and immediately fell in love with it. It is this big, aggressive blast of smoky tobacco with raspberry running through it. The best way I can describe it is like somebody set a raspberry on fire next to a pile of tobacco leaves. It sounds ridiculous, but it works unbelievably well. This is not subtle, soft, or office friendly. It is bold, sexy, and full of character. Genuinely unique and one of those fragrances that sticks in your head long after you smell it. I want a bottle badly. Shame Guerlain seem to think I have a small mortgage worth of disposable income 🙄

Whoah smoke galore. If people aren't fans of smoky fragrances, steer clear of this one. For me, it's beautiful; semi sweet raspberry with tobacco that's ash-like with it's combo with woods and a faint vanilla that gives it a bit of richness. This is sexy as heck and I think it could be worn by any sex. The smokiness tones down in the mid to late dry down and you are left with a somewhat vanillic soft leather like note (must be the tobacco and vanilla combo). Another winner from the brand and once I get a good deal in discounters I will likely pick this up.

I don't usually like red berry scents but this one got me. The first spray smells like photorealistic dark grape juice from the store, then a few seconds afterwards the tobacco comes through beautifully, it mellows later and the sweetness rises again, mixing the the two. Dark and sweet. Obsessed. Would love this on any gender. Can be worn any season. It's so delicately blended that it feels airy, the tobacco is not heavy and the fruit not cloying, so unless it's scorchingly hot, can be worn any time, day or night, though I would reserve it for night.

Got a couple of samples of this and Cuir Intense. Both have sweet fruity and tobacco accords but I don't see them being similar beyond this. The tobacco jumps out after the fruity opening very quickly and becomes the primary note you will smell for as long as it lasts. I found the longevity to be quite good - every time I only used one spray on my wrist and neck and found that it was still there at the end of the day. It's very much a cold/mild weather and evening/night fragrance though. Very seductive and mature. 9/10 - at the top of my to buy list

I looove this fragrance. But everyone I asked if they liked it, hated it, so I guess this is super controversial. I love it, it's really smoky at first, and than evolves to a sweet woody scent. It's super long lasting as well. More than Libre le parfum. This is not a safe buy, you have to smell it and let it on your skin a full day. I loved it immediatly, but I was the only one I know. You need to be confident, not be fishing for compliments to wear this I supose.

I got this as a free sample with my order and I was so mesmerized by the smell but I found out it's so expensive. It's genuinely (not glazing) the most realistic fireplace/firepit fragrance I've smelled in my life. (I haven't smelled a lot but I'm sure). The fruit notes are basically non existent (for me). I'm genuinely speechless. It smells just like a firepit. My sister doesn't like it but I love it. Wish I had the whole bottle. I genuinely fell in love.

Wow I’m surprised how much I love this!! The opening is a sweet raspberry, followed by an almost caramelized tobacco note mixed with woody, smoky notes and vanilla. Everything is blended together so well and it’s very unique. The bottle is gorgeous!!! In my opinion it leans feminine for a tobacco fragrance which is why I love it. Sometimes we fall in love with perfumes we are least expecting to. I love Guerlain and love to try their new releases!!!

I love this new scent so much! It's like a smoked log wrapped with honey, amber and raspberry. Later I figured out it's probably the tobacco that gives me the smoked log feeling and raspberry reminds me of cherry but less sweet. There are some resemblances between this perfume and cherry-tobacco fragrances in the market. I enjoy this one more as usually scents with cherry are overwhelmingly sweet and cloying. 8/10

Got this as I wanted a deep dark fragrance for winter. It's very rich and dense, and projects very well. Unfortunately my wife hates it, so I tried layering it with Loewe 7 Cobalt and the result is a more muted scent, the blue aromas adding a real sparkle to the dense tobacco fruitiness underneath. A real winner! Just my thoughts as I really don't know too much about fragrances but this combination really works!

I dont understand all the negative reviews, especially the ones complaining that it smells of tobacco. Hello, did you see the name? This is a smoky, tobacco, with raspberry. The dry down reveals the ambergris and woody notes but the tobacco is always there. The fruit, the roses, all very light. If smoky tobacco is your jam, this is nice

THE BEST perfume I've ever had. You smell like an elegant and sophisticated person, that is simultaneously beautiful and handsome at the same time. This perfume smells like if flower is as tough as rock. Meaning you're rough but also absolutely beautiful in both smell and appearance. The longevity is crazy on this with a strong sillage.

It is awesome fragrance, Thierry said it “Delphin is GENIUS”. She is tacking Guerlain to the next level of modern perfumery. The raspberry is realistic and jammy, never synthetic popsicle type. While the tobacco is elegant, never harsh, giving it depth and character. FANTASTIC!

This is a great blend of tobacco, raspberry, berries and citrus. The tobacco is not strong like tobacco honey. I get puffs of citrus, berries, tobacco, amber and ambergris which smells like musk on my skin. This lasted 8 hours on skin. Love this new scent!

Stunning. Sweet & fruity tobacco that is playful. Gives me rich middle eastern man with luxury heavy coat in Paris having a smoke. He stays at Plaza Athenee. Very seductive for a man. Strong performer but winter only.... in summer it can kill. I LOVE IT.

The opening is a bit synthetic and smoky, lots of raspberry there and citrus. Then after like 15-30 minutes it settles down to something beautiful.

This is really nice, I am very pleasently surprised. It is like a refined La petite robe noire, amped up but at the same time smoother and more luxurious with a bit of smokiness throughout and no cherries but raspberries, which are not so pungent fruit as cherries, so in the fragrance come out more refined smelling and give this fragrance nice velvety fruity touch. But that is just a start, after some hours it is hookah/berry sisha fragrance :-)), great for clubbing and evening out, very unique and the performance is outstanding. If I had tried it before I bought La petite robe noire absolue recently I would have bought Tabac Sahara instead as it is some level up.

The smoked tobacco very well balanced with the sweetness of raspberry. Compared to tobacco honey, this one is much more tobacco. A very much needed addition to the Absolus Allegoria collection, it’s not hard to see that it’ll become a best seller. The longevity is very good as usual, lasts than 10 hours on the skin.

Sensational warm fruity and sweet tobacco, to me almost comforting although it can probably be overpowering or cloying to some - not a day fragrance. I absolutely love it and I get an incense note to it even if not listed - which I love ! Can come off as a hookah smell because of it , NOT A SAFE BLIND BUY

Admittedly, I was taken aback when I sprayed Tabac Sahara for the first time. I really like the Absolus Allegoria and Absolus d’Orient collections, but what I perceived during the first minutes after spraying must be one of the most off-putting perfume smells I have come across so far: a muddled sweet smokiness mixed with ambergris. I understand that they wanted to create a perfume with contrasts, but it ended up being an unpleasant mess, at least during the first 15 minutes. Once fully dried down, the beauty of the fragrance is finally recognizable. The sweetness is mostly gone and I predominantly smell ambergris, amber, tobacco and rose, reminding me strongly of a less aldehydic version of Encens Mythique.

Oh boy is this one fruity! The initial blast is fruit and tobacco. I don't identify rasberry per se, rather I smell a blurry mixture of fruits. The tobacco is very in focus though. You get every aspect of it - spicy, warm, earthy, resinous and sweet. With time the sweetness tones down with an amber that reminds me of the now discontinued Encens Mythique, but this one here is less airy with a tiny bit of fruitiness lingering and caramel-ish undertone. Not sure when I would wear this, though I do not consider this a bad scent.

I find this to be a highly realistic, acrid tobacco scent, like tobacco scented with raspberry such as you would find in exotic cigars/cigarellos. It's very masculine and screechy, almost urine-like, just as someone's breath would smell like if they chewed tobacco after having drunk some cough medecine. I don't mind it, but it's not my favourite.

This is already launched at Sephora in Qatar and I just got myself a bottle. I had much higher expectations to be honest. My first impression is that it is very similar to TOBACOLOR by Dior... Same DNA but maybe a little less sweet and sticky. it's ok but not a LOVE for me!

yes there is some sweetness and fruitiness but i mostly smell strong bitter tobacco smell. if you want raspberry and tobacco try byredo black saffron!

I’m usually a fan of Guerlain’s fragrances from most of their collections, but this one from the Absolue line is an absolute dislike for me. It’s such a pungent blend of ashy tobacco, amber, woods, ambergris and some traces of fruits and rose. For me, Tabac Sahara is a masculine only perfume. I would not wear this even if I were paid! It’s so strong, overwhelming and obnoxious that I am surprised it is a Guerlain. It’s the first perfume from Guerlain that I really dislike and I own a dozen of them... Unless you are a men or buying it as a present for a man, I would recommend staying away from it! Literally, try anything else from Guerlain’s collections, everything else it’s better than Tabac Sahara IMO!

First sniff on paper this is very very smokey, tobacco and woody heavy. The raspberry is medicinal. On skin, this is better. The raspberry is sweeter a you can smell more of the citrus and rose. I get less smoke, and more tobacco and woody notes. This is very unisex and would def be better for the cold winter months. Definitely put on skin before making any final judgments. This is a pass for me, but I do feel like this would be a win for the tobacco/woods lovers

I appreciate a good sweet tabac construction, but this one is way too sweet for me. For example, I like TF Tobacco Vanille, which is also sweet but in a dense, dark and mysterious way. But with Tabac Sahara I just get suffocated and annoyed. And I have tried it twice to be sure, and on cold weather, but I sadly dislike it :(

This release is so badly blended, lacks of balance and the raspberry is so medicinal. I do not understand how Guerlain allowed this. Please Guerlain you can do better than this juice...

This was okay-ish on paper but turned horribly acrid on my skin. Strong burnt plastic.

This is horrible. Rarely do i hate a fragrance but this one makes me nauseous. I liked the opening, especially because of the tabaco, but that quickly subsides and a medicinal vile aroma takes the stage. I can't smell the raspberry, but there is something sweet and fruity but synthetic as hell. You know when you smell Toskovat's inexcusable evil and you get a weird sensation of dread and doom? That's what this one induces as well. And unfortunately, it can last through the apocalypse even on skin. Horrendous

This opens slightly towards turpentine, but after a few minutes it at least calms down. Not an annoyingly strong tobacco, but neatly placed softly. The rose does have a way too much musk tone. The amber is warm and has a minimalistic note profile, essentially just a mineral addition, though this could also be the ambergris, but also this is nothing special. I find it a very dull scent, with not a single sparkle to be found. Not much later... I got a massive headache from this one.
