Too Much

Lovely, lovely, lovely!!! There is a snowstorm going on today, yet I am surrounded by an abundance of spring flowers. Daffodils, lilies, hyacinth, and mimosa, complete with leaves and stems, and all naturally indolic and sweet. It’s just as if you had a vase full of early spring flowers in the room with you. This is how I hoped Penhaligon’s Ostara would smell to me. It didn’t. Not even close. (No offense intended to lovers of that scent.) This is one of the most naturalistic florals I’ve ever smelled on par with vintage Diorissimo’s realism. A true early spring floral I’ve been seeking and strangely craving lately. This has satisfied that need. Just beautiful! As for the name Too Much – I say, No Way! It’s not too much for me. I love this, and I love Guerlain, which is fast becoming one of my favorite perfume houses. Their variety of compositions are astonishing. There is truly something for everyone from this wonderful brand.

Sweet almond, mimosa, flowers, and a gentle touch of powder..... I'm having difficulty understanding the strong green comments or this being "too much" of anything. Beautiful! I received this decant from my Fabulous Fragrantica pal, exciter76 ~ thanks, luv! Trying this Guerlain gave me such a sense of discovery, akin to visiting another country and finding it is strangely familiar! For those who know they already like Champs Elysees, it would be a lot of fun to try her yellow sister. The color yellow WILL come to mind, despite it's name. :) Could one ever have TOO MUCH of something so springlike and gentle? Too Much seems to me a most appropriate selection to introduce a teen or sophisticated pre - teen to the world of Guerlain. But don't rule this out as a chic choice for "the women"! We would do well to remember that simplicity PLUS sophistication is an utterly devastating combination..............................

Just a perfect spring floral! I like it much more than Champs, mostly because Champs just disappears on me in less than an hour. Beyond that it is just a fuller, complete scent, while Champs is more sheer. I swear I can smell lilac here, but I guess I am imagining it. It may still be February, but I recently purchased this after trying a decant and I wanted to take it out for a test drive. It is a full on floral - I can't detect any benzoin or even bergamot at the beginning. I love the lily here as well, which is a note I struggle with - looking at you, Baiser Vole! There is nothing soapy here either. It is very feminine, but don't let that stop you, men! If you love florals then by all means - enjoy! This will feature heavily in my rotation this spring, though I don't want to go through it quickly. I was lucky to find a full bottle on Ebay for a great price, and I don't know if I will get that lucky again.

Lovely, powdery mimosa based perfume. I have an older bottle, as most of the top notes have burned off, but the middle and dry down are just lovely. This is certainly a more mature Champs Elysees. I love CE, so this is not an insult, just an observation. Much greener near the opening, less sharp, no fruity sweetness, just the sweetness of mimosa and supporting floral notes. Love it! This is going to be a "special occasion" perfume for me. If you enjoy florals, Guerlain, or Champs Elysees, then please do not hesitate. I blind bought it and have no regrets.

One of my favourite perfumes is Champs Elysees by Guerlain (EDP). This is very similar - it is a naturally sweet mimosa fragrance but this one sings with more vigor in the opening. In Too Much, the opening billows with a profusion of soft, sweet flowers - like spring in a bottle. If it wasn't for the poorer longevity, I would prefer this version to the original. As this is an EDT, the longevity is not great but oh that gorgeous gorgeous opening!!!! I use Too Much to layer with the original. Heavenly.

Narcissus, narcissus and mimosa ... So two of us agreed ... Too Much ... ?? It"s not too much, my sweetheart ... The smell of yellow sun, shrubs narcissus combined with the smell of mimosas ... happy "crazy" yellow, which sets the mood ... smell of lovely sunny morning and a woman with a smile that stands on the terrace, looking into the distance in a summer yellow dress ... The smell of positive energy, freedom and optimism ... Oh, you're beautiful ... wonderful ...

Too Much is less rosy and less fruity than the original Champs Elysees. It is fresher and brighter, with more of the waxy-yellow-flower-pollen vibe than CE. It is a beautiful and joyful perfume and I love it. To me it is better than the original. It's discontinued and therefore hard to find but definitely worth the search.

M M M! Sooo nice :) Like Ole Henriksen usually saying - I LOVE IT!!! Flowery, soft and summer like. Lasting power is good for EdT. Getting complements on this one all the time now :) Really, every time i have it on, i have people asking what is it that i am wearing ( in a good way)

The best mimosa fragrance ever...The whole composition is made around that lovely flower. It's soft, delicate, very lady like. A must have for all Mimosa lovers, though I think it has been discontinued now.

The citrus, the greennote and the narcissus really makes this about a perfect scent for me during spring and summer...LOVE IT!

A fresh pretty floral. It is divine! Fresh and clean feeling. Like a warm spring morning. A keeper. Very lovely and feminine.

I think this is what dying and going to heaven must smell like. Beautifully fresh and just stunning! This was a blind purchase. When I opened my box and saw the bottle I had some fear as Guerlain's can be tricky perfumes. To my surprise when I sprayed it I loved it immediatly. This is in no way Too Much, in fact it's very soft and feminine. Very soft in nature but not light. It's got some strength and silage to it. Guerlain has not let me down yet. This just has a very lady like feel without having an unpleasant vintage vibe, it feels somewhat modern but not in the current style of all the sweet food like scents on the market. As I type this it keeps traveling to my nose from my wrist and I am loving it. This scent is absolutely fantastic. Lovely spring/summer scent that evokes a sense of happiness!

Too Much? was a blind buy during my Guerlan period. It's a flanker to Champs Elysees, but actually I liked it more than Champs. The mimosa is very alive in this floral green fragrance. I would say it's perfect for spring in expectation of summer; bringing hope of a new green lush season to arrive. However, this is actually not my kind of fragrance and as I never reached for it, I felt bad about it standing unused in my perfume cupboard. So for my mothers birthday I had a few fragrances from which she could choose, and she fell for Too Much as it reminded her of spring, summer and gardening. Too Much is such a happy fragrace of flowers and sunshine, and everytime I see her she smells so good that I almost regret my gift. Update. My mother, who's rarley using perfume has finished it!! :)

Pretty bottle, shame I don't have it, lol, I'm wearing a decanted roll-on. I bought a selection of Guerlain samples a few years ago and this is the first time I've felt inclined to wear Too Much! It's nice, I notice that green chypre note someone mentioned. It's a fresh, green floral but not too sweet or sharp. It has the typical Guerlain sillage that goes on and on. I think I will enjoy wearing this occassionaly. edit: forgot to add that the opening notes really are TOO MUCH! This is why I delayed trying this fragrance for so long. But if you can persevere for a little while it really does develope into a pretty fragrance.

A definite mimosa without being heady. Springlike too - a little green in there. I was lucky enough to find the shower mousse AND the scent, so happily layered them, which amped up the effect quite a bit. It's much nicer than Champs-Elysees - Too Much... is all friendliness, it’s cheerful without being cheap. Sweet without being cloying. It’s pretty - and definitely yellow - and although hard to find, if you like yellow florals or mimosa, it’s worth it. I'll keep my bottle for warmer weather, as it felt a little odd (but still lovely) to be trailing mimosa behind me, in a cold downpour of rain! :)

I mean, it is too much. The white and yellow florals intermingle, each trying to be louder than the other, hyacinth doesn't get a word in edgewise, some benzoin is in there trying to calm them down, bergamot and jasmine looking at each other helplessly wondering how it all will end. It's quite charming.

This is a stronger version of Champs Elysees. Although there are no fruit notes listed, this is a sharp fruity floral. Nice, inexpensive alternative.

Too Much? It is truly too much like Champs Elysees. But I like them both.

It‘s nice but a lot of bergamot on me.
