Guess Dare

Nothing daring about this. Just straight up pretty and gentle! I might be lucky because this just smells amazing on my skin. I was super surprised by it! It gives me the same vibes as my Acqua Colonia Starfruit and white flowers from 4711, in that it is a light and watery, juicy fruit (not quite citrus but not stepping into apricot or peach territory) with a tiny hint of greeness, mixed with blossom-like spring white flowers. It's sweet kumquat, watery green cactus, and spring blossom! It's making me chuckle how much I disagree with other reviews on here! Kumquat up the top with the cactus. I don't get any rose. I can definitely get the jasmine but it's so well blended with the lemon and pear blossom that it doesn't just turn into a jasmine scent (I can't wear most jasmine-heavy perfumes fyi!), but it's kept sweet and..... not so much creamy, but cosy from the coconut in the base. It doesn't actually smell like a recognisable coconut but you can kind of get a sense of something comforting in the base, that's holding the composition together and I think it's the coconut. The woods aren't woody if that makes sense? They just give it a bit of depth. A beautiful clean creamy musk too! Think Jennifer Lopez Still sort of musk. Actually, it has that sort of light perfume with a tea note kinda vibe so if you like those kind of perfumes you might be on to a winner here. Plus it's such a bargain! In terms of performance, this one is LIGHT! It's a skin scent really. I can smell it on me for about 8 hours during the day but it has very little projection unless you massively over-spray it. I love it though and when I wore it to bed, I could still smell it when I sniffed my arm in the morning, even after my shower (a long one that included washing and conditioning my hair!) so the scent hangs around forever, but only up very close. To manage expectations, I think it's fair to say that this one is a 'your skin but better' kind of perfume. It's so very soft and pretty and comfortable to wear. Dare is absolutely one of those skin scents that turns a cuddle into a neck nuzzle, followed by very deep inhalation and probably a sigh.... or a moan.... or a growl! Thinking about the deep dry down of this, If you know what Cerruti 1881 smells like, then you can imagine what the musk in Dare smells like. Dare could be an 1881 summer flanker...... I think that’s why I’m so in love with it!

If you like Guess Dare but it's too sour for you as it is for me due to the pear-cactus pairing, go grab VS Crisp Marigold Pear, they are similar, but the latter is sweeter and combines some more elements. I can smell the syrupy honey, it's a solar, sugared vibe here, and paired with the marigold they give a sunny, subtle dusty-floral flair to the scent, hence why they talk about a "sunlit garden" on the back of the bottle due to the honey giving that sunkissed vibe like yellow flowers in the sun. The marigold is always a slightly dusty-floral note as in BBW Gingham Glow. The toasty musk at first is spicy-sweet, a nice gourmand touch. The pear makes VS "crisp marigold pear' high pitched/tart as Dare, giving some desert vibe, but not overly sour, while Dare turns too sour on me due to the cactus. The marigold adds some floral sweetness aside from the dusty-floral element which again is not obnoxiously dusty like BBW Fresh Cut Lilacs is. Both Guess Dare and Crisp Marigold Pear remind me also of BBW Ivory Cashmere at times due to their tart musky element, but the latter is spicy due to the white amber. I'd say they are in the same league as Ivory Cashmere, but not dupes of that.

I was in Kohls testing fragrances. This one made me pause and think "Wow, that's different!" Right away I got musk & fruit, two of my favorite accords. So I check the notes - kumquat and cactus. Yeah, not your normal floral musk! This kinda reminds me of what folks would wear at Coachella. It's got a California desert vibe. It develops in a stunning way and lasts forever. On me, the notes just work in sync and blend effortlessly. The kumquat is ripe on the tree, the cactus is sharp and green, and the two blossom notes (pear and lemon) are rich and heady. I'm almost a little overwhelmed by this, and worry if I spray too much I could get sick from the juicy florals. Later at home, I wanted that wood note to shine through, so I layered this with another woody/fruity fragrance - Burberry Classic. And OMG, the perfect peach - woody - musky - floral - fruit combo is finally REALIZED. Note: I tested this on the hottest day so far in the California heat, and I think thats why it lasted so long and projected so far. Heat makes it bloom. Really a summer perfume.

This was a pleasant suprise as this EDT is simply delicious - it is fresh, fruity, slightly tart but in a savory way, there is also subtle sweetness and light florals. Briliantly blended and does not smell outdated. There are also no sharp or synthetic notes! Vibe wise I'd say this is how a carefree young and beautiful girl would smell prancing through a pear orchard during bloom. Make no mistake - there is no pear listed, it is simply so savory, it reminds me of a juicy pear, the kind you bite in and the juices flow down your arm, the kind that is so ripe, that after that bite, it's delicious fragrance fills the room, making you forget about your wet hand. Only downside is that it is subtle so you need to overspray for performance but at this price and with no harsh notes, that is not an issue!

I was gifted this by my friend jean and it's seriously a beautiful perfume. I am obsessed with it. First thing I smelled was coconut, and it's not a Beachy scent, but it's so unusual to me. I haven't smelled anything like it, and it's not generic, like most guest fragrances, and it's very well blended in for the price point, you get what you paid for but it's just a good perfume. It's not something super special, but it's different, right. And it's good. I could see a grown woman wearing this or I could see a young girl. Wearing this, it's very versatile and you can use it. If you want to dress up or you just, wanna have a chill day. What's perfect for any occasion?And it lasts a decent time.

A very fresh, light, fruity floral scent, this is clean laundry and fresh fruits. Really pretty for every day wear, a very easy reach and suitable for work. I’m really happy to have this in my collection and have been spritzing this on summer days and nights when I want to smell fresh and clean. In the dry down I’m getting creamy and sweet coconut which I’m loving, so this is a perfect fresh, slightly green, slightly aquatic, floral, fruit scent. I will say that this isn’t groundbreaking in any way but it’s extremely pleasant, and super pretty, uplifting and clean.

This is a love for me. Im almost out of my first bottle and I hope I have a backup. I spray this on my skin and hoodie, and I can still smell it on me the next morning. Thats lasting power! Its green and bright but the greenness is not subdued. As soon as you spray it, its strong and in your face. Maybe some don't like that but I definitely do. Id put this in the same group as my Vince Camuto Capri in terms of the bright green zing, the fact that they are both refreshing and uplifting and they both last pretty well on me, especially if sprayed on clothing.

Tried it today, a very refreshing scent. On me it was mostly tropical fruit, reminded me of a fruity celeb scent...but i cant put my finger on it. Also smells similar to a few few Tommy Hilfigers. Very sweet and fresh at the same time. It has the just-out-the-shower-feel to it but with something extra added, like a sensual sweetness to it. i would like to buy one - i really like it for sure. Great for an every day fragrance, easy, affordable and longevity pretty good! :)

That's an amazing perfume! Smells so fresh but sexy and mysterious at the same time. It is very different from any other fragrance that I own and it is indeed a bit unisex. It's more on the feminine side,though. The lasting power is so disappointing, only 1-2 hours for me and I combine it with the body lotions. Although I love it and think that it's unique, I won't buy it again just because it's not long lasting. It's not even moderate it's weak to poor.

I love it so much, it’s different from all my other perfumes, very clean unique and fresh without being too floral which is hard for me to find. I mainly smell pear, it made me realize that i love pear notes in perfume. I pair it with dkny be delicious, and feel like i just walked out of a spa every time. Longevity & sillage are not very good however.

One of the best cheapie out there. Great value. Smells really sophisticated yet at the same time playful. Love how it wraps you up in a bubble of its scent. Definitely has very strong citrusy white floral note and can almost be described as sparkly. Can easily be made a go-to fragrance, safe for all kinds of occasions and places.

Am loving it..can't stop putting my wrist under my nose..smells like guava & a little bit pear..isn't so faminine, isn't the kind that you would wear with skirts/gowns. A tropical scent which i find energizing, calming & bold. Good staying power. Love the packaging..the bottle looks elegant & nice to touch & hold

Ahhh this is actually a perfectly charming, not at all serious summer fragrance for me! I love the initial sour burst of kumquat that gently melds into the florals. The cactus flower adds a bracing green element that keep s it from becoming too cloyingly floral. It's just pure delight and just right!

I'm in love with this perfume,it's a wonderful fruity fragrance with good strength and good longevity,to me for some reason it smells more expensive than it is and was surprised how much I ended up liking this perfume,will purchase again.

Soft and utterly gorgeous. Cactus blossom is one of my favorites, and I so love it with the lemon. Wears beautifully in warm weather.Edit: only performs in the warmest weather. But still so fresh and pleasant.

This defines beautiful and sophisticated. Very soft with fruity-musk mix and leaves. Very interesting. If you're a soft-scented perfume lover, go for it.

Gorgeous scent! It's citruishly floral, but smells expensive.

I just received a 1oz. bottle of Guess Dare that I purchased on Amazon for $7.50. You really can’t beat that, even with a blind buy, which this was. I sprayed it on a piece of card stock first, and a few hours later, I tried it on my skin, and I’m pleasantly surprised. I have to say that this fragrance is exactly what I expected it to be: a light, fresh, fruity floral without a whole lot of depth. I get a lot of citrus when I first spray this - very bright, sunny citrus. The citrus notes were very prominent on the card stock I tried this on, and they hung around for quite some time, but on my skin, they evaporated quickly, and the heart notes of cactus flower along with the woody base really came through. If you’ve ever smelled the scent Cactus Blossom from BBW, this fragrance is almost identical to that one. The cactus flower is by far the most prominent note, on me at least. About an hour or so in, that woody base becomes soft and comforting, and it’s very much a skin scent. This fragrance is great if you need a “safe” scent, whether it’s for work or school or an event. I honestly don’t know how this perfume could offend anyone, but I did read the other reviews, so I understand that not everyone enjoys it. It’s really just a nice, light, easy fragrance for daily use. For the price, I recommend picking one up.

This is something I would expect from a mainstream perfume brand, that is to say it's "perfumey" but not cloyingly so. It's actually a more subtle fragrance and I think it could be unisex as it's not too masculine nor overwhelmingly feminine. It opens with a slightly masculine, musky accord but then dives right into dark, dusky fruits to me. A light touch of white floral rounds it out. I like to sniff fragrances and form my own impressions before I look up their notes, so I see I was pretty close here with the main notes of musky, fruity and floral. The silage is moderate; I kept caching whiffs of it but it sat fairly close to the body overall. I get the feeling it would trail me a bit more if it were sprayed on rather than dabbed on. It lasted about 3 hours on me but the drydown was rather flat. It lacked the fruit and was mainly musk with the white floral taking on a slightly metallic tone towards the end. I like this fragrance quite a lot on me, but am not in love. It's not quite special and intoxicating enough to captivate me as some more unique fragrances are. I'll definitely use the sample from time to time but probably wouldn't purchase a full bottle.

I really love it when people write reviews on perfumes in terms of "this smells like the video of this song". I really do.. I have to say I was surprised by this. I own and like Double Dare, which is more sweet and fruity and on my lucky day, it morphs into a drydown almost identical to Coco Mademoiselle. The good patchouli CM, not the soapy one. So when I smelled this, I was very surprised by how green this is and by how in my mind it totally does not go together with the official advertisement poster with hot chicks in corsets and all. Sorry, I had to laugh, in a good way. If you like fresh scents, it is a safe blind buy. The opening is green and citrusy, but not in a standard fresh lemon way. It is more interesting. It must be the kumquat, the flowers and the cactus combined. I personally enjoy the drydown the most - my skin is not a friend of musk - but this very little musk I can totally enjoy like a skin scent with a little bit of history. Drydown also smells a little bit like baby wipes, but the musk gives it a good more mature balance. Hope this helps!

When I saw this had cactus blossom, I thought of a Gonesh cactus flower incense that smelled "too good". This perfume does smell like that. It's a SWEET floral balanced with a men's cologne scent that adds a cool factor, and depth... it is not like a primal pheromone musk, but it smells seductive. It also kinda reminds me of that pink Degree body spray "Sexy Intrigue". Very feminine. Very flirty. Like something you'd wear to the club or on a date. To me it's bold, and something I would use lightly. Update: Last time I wore it, the masculine notes were more prominent, so I layered it with something sweet tart n fruity. Change-in-body-chemistry factor. Weird how the men's cologne scent was really noticeable before but it STILL overall smelled very FEMININE to me. I will just wear it again when I'm on my healthier diet.

Very light and citrusy. Not much base, the woody-musky notes. And they only come out after it settles for a while. It wears very close to the skin. I doubt anyone would notice unless they were very close to you. It's sort of clean and fresh, not sweet and certainly not gourmand. Doesn't last very long and needs to be reapplied throughout the day. It's good for summer and safe for work environments. It's like you're not wearing perfume. It's a clean, just showered kind of scent. I'm a little confused how the rating got so high on this one. I wouldn't say I dislike it, but I got it cheap at the Lisa's warehouse sale and even at that price I wouldn't re-buy. There are better options with better performance out there.

I really like this and I had the pleasure of smelling this on another person and I must say this is a definite crowd-pleaser but in a unique (not the typical sweet fragrance) way. As the previous reviewer said it smells a bit like the J'adore one but for my nose, it picked only the citrusy fresh notes and somewhat a very breezy aquatic note, so I can't agree on it but I could see the similarities because of the citrusy element in both fragrances anywho this is a really lovely inexpensive perfume to get when you want to get a signature fragrance. Also at some point, it even gave off a very clean soap scent as well. Solid 8,5/10

Guess Dare is one of my absolute favorite perfumes to wear in the high heat of summer, appropriate for daytime or nighttime wear, though I prefer it for nighttime. It’s also my only kumquat fragrance. I absolutely love it paired with the pear and lemon blossoms, along with the cactus flower and woody notes. This is a very sensual perfume that gives “free spirit of the desert” vibes. Very sexy, but not in a glamorous bombshell kind of way. More of a mysterious desert goddess sort of way, with Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game” playing in the background.

This is really pretty and inoffensive like most of guess perfumes, I did a spray on my hand && It immediately reminded of something then it hit me, it faintly resembles Philosphy's "Loveswept" I like that so I'm sure that's why I took to this also their main accords are fairly similar, Longevity && sillage aren't bad pretty moderate. Not bad, give it a try. :) Overall: 7/10

A very fruity floral scent with slightly sour hints that aren't overwhelming--so not sour in a prickly attacking way, but in a citrusy goodness way. Washed fruits, clean cut flowers, watered plants, fresh laundry, are all things that can be attributed to this perfume. I'm not the biggest fan of citrus, but she does it so well that I can't help but give her flowers for it!!

I have a mini of this perfume. I do enjoy it for every day clean perfume. I do not get alot of citrus. Almost a powdery peach ( maybe the kumquat) clean very very light on floral. Reminds me of a Charlotte Russe perfume I used to have. The dry down almost has a baby wipe scent. But not in a bad way. I will enjoy using this. It's a good price point.

This perfume is so elegant, sultry, sexy, fresh, clean etc etc :). Lots of citrus but also a clear musk note and floral notes. The beginning juicy fruity notes quickly dissipates and this becomes a clean, musky citrus perfume. It reminds me a lot of CK in2U and Bombshell by Victoria's Secret. It's like an exact mix of those two perfumes.

The middle and dry down is very much like Tommy Hilfiger Dreaming. The opening of Dare is more citrus and bright. non-offensive smell, every day type perfume. To me it is the smell of clean sheets, and bedtime. Nothing special, will use the bottle most likely will not buy again.

Pretty. Peaches and cream and flowers, maybe a touch of osmanthus and vanilla. The peach note reminds me a little of the peach in Tommy Hilfiger Dreaming, but the perfume is not a dupe since Dare is much creamier and less floral and less spicy and more cheerful than Dreaming.

It used to be my signature scent in college, and sometimes I'm still in the mood for it. It's fresh and smells clean. Light, not too much, and everyone who is close enough to smell it just loves it. :)

A light, pretty floral, but distinctive enough to feel different than the many light florals I already have. It is so affordable, well worth purchasing full bottle. Safe blind buy.

It's very citrusy in the opening. After that it just gets floral. A nice scent indeed, girly and fun. Good for a casual evening.

The kumquat is the most prominent note. To me the perfume is strong but not too strong. Bold and energetic scent.

Nice to wear to work! Also, good for other day activities...nice projection and longevity.

This wasn't a blind buy, but because perfumes are ridiculously pricey here in Finland, this particular article was - in my humble opinion - a poorly made purchase. 40 euros for 30ml?! Yeah, no. The bottle itself is beautiful, and this is one of my very first perfumes that I ever bought, so I wasn't yet familiar with quality. I just wanted to smell good, and have something pretty to stand on my vanity. The juice is quite potent (I'm rabbid oversprayer), but it's fleeting. Ever so fleeting. First thing that I smell, is the kumquat, mixed in with the pear blossom. Nice. Lovely, even. Then, a hint of rose. Classy. I feel elegant. And lastly, in comes the woody notes. Comforting. From start to finish, I get total 2 hours of longetivity, and proper sillage for about 30 minutes - then, it becomes a skin-scent. Guess Dare you not. It's pretty, classy and reminds me of spring. Perfect for any sunny day outside. Sadly though, I already have several of these kinds of perfumes in my collection, so this girl ain't gonna be reappearing after this bottle is emptied.

Screams to me “woman in her 20s with aspirations of being a guess model”. Not hugely unique smelling but crowd pleasing enough. Usually perfumes like these have an off putting patchouli base but this one although short lived stays fruity floral musky. A girl next door perfume.

Sweet. Pear, mixed floral, more Rose than others, and musk. No coconut. Nice enough, glas I sampled before doing a blind buy when I saw it at a bargain price, as I don’t need this as I have so many sweet, sweet, scents.

I can not say anything against it, just not for me. Maybe I would like it better if I could feel some citrus, but I get floral-musky-woody in inoffensive way. It is not a negative review, just personal preference. Perfomance is solid, doesn not smell cheap even thought the price tag is very attractive. To be honest, the price and great rating would be enough to blind buy, but learned my lesson. When I calculated how many blind buys I gave away, I could easly bought few of those I consider too expensive but love so much. So, regarding perfumes, IMO less is more. Not saying that all "cheapies" are bad, not at all, but not buying even them without testing first and checking on Fragrantica :-) So back to this one; even thought it is not my cup of tee, I can understand positive reviews about it, so go and give it a try, you might love it :-)

not a huge "fresh floral citrus" fan, I lean more towards wood/amber/vanilla ... but this is so bright and refreshing. If you are going to own something bright and happy, own this. Does not smell cheap and fruity, smells like a citrus spritz with champagne. The citrus really comes through, kumquat and grapefruit. I bought it blind and I will most certainly be buying another bottle. it's so uplifting, and lasts for hours on my skin. It just smells... bright. Like the fruit table at the buffet in a resort. no brown sugar sweetness. Just citrus fruit on a bed of flowers. I keep reaching for it, it really makes me happy. This is very different than the double dare flanker. If this is orangic breakfast fruit at a sunny resort, double dare is deep red wine by a fire at midnight watching the snow fall. They are nothing alike. But I love both.

The notes sounded right up my alley.... especially pear, cactus, coconut....yes, please! So I blind bought it, feeling pretty good about my chances. But on first wear (which is all I've been able to stomach so far) I get screechy, bitter citrus followed by dirty, suffocating musk. It was like an awful, old-fashioned men's cologne! I tried it this winter so I'll wait for some spring and/or summer warmth and see if that helps the other notes develop. I may even burn a few sprays before trying it again, to clear the tube and nozzle....it's possible it's off in some way or another, it smells that bad. Otherwise, this was a total swing and a miss for me. Too bad. Its a huge, pretty pink bottle and I got it for a song. I'll add an update if, by some strange quirk of chemistry or physics in the warm weather, it ends up smelling better.

This beautiful perfume actually reminds me a little of J'adore Christian Dior for women. Update: I’m wearing Dare again today, and now it’s actually reminding me of CK One by Calvin Klein (1994). It also reminds me a little of Carolina Herrera 212 NYC (silver pill bottle)... it definitely has that unmistakable 90s citrusy perfumey vibe with a tail end of a seductive musky sillage.... Of note, the cactus 🌵 and kumquat notes are definitely the most prominent notes in the opening and sillage. The cactus / kumquat combo actually smells very similar in nature to pear - which is why Guess Dare reminds me of J’adore Dior and also Victoria’s Secret Pear Glace... both those perfumes have prominent pear 🍐 notes which is mimicking the cactus and kumquat combination to my nose in Dare.

I really wanted to leave a good review for Guess Dare because I picked up an ounce for $10. at TJmaxx and already planning to get a backup bottle and also gift this perfume. TO me it smells Similar to Elizabeth Arden Green Tea if you threw in a litte of Versace Woman. I Love both those perfumes. Now there are Scents like some Carolina Herrera Good Girl Supreme that you just want to keep Smelling all day. This is not like that or that Good but that costs $90 for an ounce also and totally different category scentwise. This is a Clean fresh scent with a musky dry down that is just nice. Maybe not ground breaking but better than a lot of BBW Body sprays that cost more. As for Blind Buying, I enjoy Surprises and hey, $10. Very Happy to have and wear this one.

I first smelled this when it first came out, and I thought I remembered not liking it. I had a 100 dollar gift card for a fragrance website I use, and after I got what I really wanted I still had about 17 dollars left and I came across this for 11.99 for the 50 ml bottle. I just got it yesterday and it's actually much nicer than I remember it being. It has this sparkling note to it, almost reminds me of Marc Jacobs Daisy! I actually really enjoy this, the one down fall seems to be how quickly it seems to be fading. I'm hoping that maybe if it is sprayed on a scarf and sweater after being applied to skin that maybe it would make it last longer! Either way it was well worth the price I paid, that being said would I pay the retail price of 45.99 ....no!

I used to spray this every time I'd go to Meijer. I'd douse myself from the tester, so I knew it was something I enjoyed. I finally picked a bottle up and I wore it quite a bit last year. This is a late review, as I've had it about a year. I have so many perfumes, that I lose track and forget to wear favorites of mine. It's a warm, sunny August day in Michigan, and I spritzed this liberally today. It's as nice as I remembered. It's fresh, but not aquatic. I get the kumquat scent others are talking about, but have to admit I don't actually know what kumquat smells like. I tend to like musky smells, and this does have a musk scent to it. I have worn this in winter as well, and I also like it then.
