Guess Gold

Man here, I only ever even heard about this perfume from a secretary I met at a doctors office. I told her about how serious I was about collecting colognes during a random conversation, and she casually mentioned that one of her all time favourite perfumes was Guess Gold. She told me that it was discontinued and that her boyfriend found a bottle on EBay paying astronomical prices. This was back in 2015. Were now 2021 and my curiosity was always so peaked as to what this bottle smelled like. Recently I came across a place that had so many of these bottles I decided to buy 5 of them, as I’m in the process of eventually opening up my own store online. Anyway, for Mother’s Day I decided to gift a bottle to my mom for Mother’s Day. Within an hour of her getting home she called me up and told me that this was one of the most beautiful scents she’s ever smelled. When I visited her a few days after, I decided to spray my hand, and well, she was right. In the opening the citruses play off of eachother, the pineapple, lemon, and apple, it just works really well. By the time you hit the mid, man, left me tell you something, this is where the magic begins. The floral notes in here are a work of art, and I’ve never smelled anything quite like this either. Normally I don’t really like male colognes either with strong floral notes, but for some reason this stuff is insatiable. There is one specific note in the mid that just makes all the difference, and my guess it’s the Haicynth. When I checked the note it’s a green floral note. Anyway, by the time I hit the dry down, you’re left with a nice warm amber and slight soapiness from the vetiver. There is woody notes in here, but it’s only near the very faint end. What I got from this stuff is a nice citrus, floral, clean smelling scent. To say that I’m jealous that you women have a fragrance made by Guess of all people is an understatement. I say “Guess” because there isn’t a lot of Guess scents that are well received in our community for men. I contemplated giving this a full wearing, but for me, it does lean far more feminine than masculine. Still though, the hype is real. Lastly, I’d also encourage any of you women not to buy this bottle off of sites like EBay or Amazon. It’s a complete rip off compared to what I paid for the bottle. I literally spent $136 bucks for 5 75ml bottles. I contacted the original girl who told me about the bottle and charged her $35 bucks for a bottle, and she told her boyfriend spent $280 bucks for a bottle. She messaged me on my Instagram not long after and told me that it was the exact same smell as her original bottle, so long story short, this bottle is now back in rotation, you just need to know where to look. Performance on my skin is just above average. For the first 3 hours I project, around the three and half hour mark it turns into a softer scent, and within 6 hours it’s extremely faint, by the seventh hour it’s gone. The weather is cool out here too, but I’m sure in the hotter weather I can gain a couple of extra hours. TLDR of it all is...This juice is a winner!

I am having a Renaissance with fall perfumes as it cools off here and ermagerd Guess Gold is fan freaking tastic. I bought this over a year ago and I think I was having some sinus trouble because I could not smell the vetiver in it, and that in combination with the sandalwood and amber in the base of this is stunning. I keep choosing this over my other perfumes. I can really see this becoming a fall/winter signature for me. It is a little sweet, cozy, smoky and woodsy, but the pineapple, fruit on top is delicious and almost fizzy in a way -hard to explain this other than it feels sort of balsamic, sweet and deep, but interesting. Could be unisex I would say, but it leans feminine in my opinion, and that it is soft and lovely, but I would also like to smell it on a man! lol In a nutshell... This is so much better than I thought it was last year. I also thought it didn’t last but I think it was because I couldn’t smell some of the base notes. I put this on around 3 PM yesterday and last night when I rolled over in the middle of the night, could smell it loud and clear. It was so beautiful! Id say the longevity is excellent. I’m glad I gave it another shot.

I'm glad this is back in production! I had written a rather simple review of this in 2011, so I figured I'd add to it a bit. Firstly, I'm surprised there aren't more reviews for this as it's quite lovely. So I used to wear this just in the warmer months, but I decided to wear it on a chilly night and to my surpise, it smells quite nice in the colder temps! In the warmer months, I get more of the fruity notes with a bit of ambery dry down. However, the colder temps subdue the fruitiness, and I get more of the amber, vetiver, and woods. I still get the pineapple, but it's more warm with the amber and it dries a bit more powdery vs the warmer temps. It's very cuddly and cozy! It doesn't smell like Chanel Chance on me, so I guess it just depends on your body chemistry; I get moderate sillage and longevity too. Honestly, going back and re-reading the reviews on this made me want to try it in the late fall/winter. Now that I have, I think it's a great year round scent as the notes seem to change according to the temperature. I really hope Guess doesn't discontinue this again as it's really nice.

Buttery, Overripe PINEAPPLE, APPLE & VETIVER Chardonnay Scent. Imagine having glass of chardonnay on the deck of a cabin in a forest. You sniff its buttery overripe pineapple & apple tones, aged in wooden barrels that lent their peppery woodiness to the vintage. Opens with a burst of pineapple with apple & lemon touches, that deepens into a floral heart taking on buttery, fruity, sweet, floral & aquatic tones, all resting on a fruity-floral support base of multi-faceted vetiver and amber-woods. The vetiver here is amazing carries the pineapple to the finish with its fruity facets, as well as adding near-peppery & near-cedar touches, with a pencil shaving note on the skin. Has reminders of Chance Chanel. Average or slightly above average performance with dark storage after first sprays. It's a love for me. Enjoy! Update 07/26/24: Sprayed this on a forearm this afternoon. Pineapple is nicely sweet & ripe, but I most enjoy the woody notes here. It's really shining in the warm weather and come alive on the skin. Still a love.

Very strong, intense, deep and luxurious. Smells like million bucks. My expectations weren't high (I mean that I did not expect Guess Gold to be a head turner), since previous Guess fragrances I added to my collection turned out to be joyful and playful rather than mature and serious. Guess Gold is a noble fragrance. From the start till the very dry down it offers a lot; juicy and tangy pineapple mixed with earthy vetiver, classy jasmine and warm amber. It is extremely elegant, powerful and would match classy skirt suit when you're rushing to another formal meeting. I expected a ligh and nearly gourmand touch, what I got instead is a top shelf juice that will make you feel dignified and extremely elegant. Guess Silver is a great summer/spring fragrance whilst Guess Gold is a perfect choice for fall and winter. Well done, Guess! I already have all Guess fragrances in my collection and consider them the best fragrances for young women full of energy and positive spirit.

My husband picked this up for me while he was out of town. I never smelled it before so I didn't know what to expect. I always have funny experiences when it comes to buying perfumes unsniffed.. I bought Diesel Plus Plus a few weeks ago. It's okay but lacked the milky vanilla note I was hoping for and was a little too unisex for me (although I do like it. Well, Guess Gold takes up where Plus Plus let me down at! Yes, yes yes!!! This is milky, creamy, smooth vanilla and honey amber! It starts out spicy with the pink pepper and citrus fruits. No paticular flower stands out too much (slightly unisex and similar in smell to PlusPlus) Smells slightly tropical. It isn't seconds later the bottom notes appear adding a feminine gourmand semi sweet warmth to the mix. Its more milky and creamy than sugary sweet. Will be great for the colder months!

I really like the creamy scent of this perfume.it's similar to Carolina Herrera CH and some other creamy fragrances,but it's better than all of them. according to the top notes,it seems to be so fruity and sour.(green apple+pineapple+citruses),but it's not.it's just creamy and juicy and it's intoxicating and seductive. the floral heart is well mixed.I smell something like caramel which is a bit sweet,but very lovely.I think the most amazing middle note is hyacinth.(the flower of my country) I think guess gold is more mature than guess and less fruity.on the other hand,it's less repetitive. by the way I'm unsure of the long lasting power.the first time I wore it,it seemed to fade away soon,but I should give it another try.

Guess Gold is warm and ambery, and very sexy. The depth of the warm amber and sandalwood is balanced by the soft florals and slight hint of sweet fruit. This is so inviting, it smells good enough to eat. This reminds me of the smooth warmness of vintage Obession, minus the spiciness, but with a hint of added sweetness from the pineapple. This sure got discontinued quickly, unfortunately, but Guess seems to discontinue all their best scents, IMO. I love this one, and wish they would bring it back.

i was given this as a gift and only opened it about a year later-much to my surprise-i absolutely loved it from the first spray! compliments compliments and more compliments everytime i wear it! its definately a creamy smell and i can really smell the pineaplle but not overly sweet-not sure if its the balance of the pineapple and citruses but this works! less is more-staying power is excellent! i wear during the day and especially on summer nights-definately an intoxicating scent!

Im not usually a fan of guess perfumes but this one actually i love from the first sniff its the type of perfumes that i like gourmand not too sweet and abit of spice on there abit tropical u can def. Dmell pinapple at first smell really pleasant but not too sweet there is abit woody spice smell in there longevity is really good always a repurchace i was really sad that it was discontinued and as sok. As its in production again def. Gonna buy another one

This fragrance is so unique. I don’t recall smelling something similar to this one. But I love it. Warm, intense, sweet and herbal at the same time. Amber notes are just incredible here. The sweet pineapple is just amazing. I love this fragrance and have had my bottle for almost 14 years! Yes! I bought it when it was launched and try to use just a little because it was discontinued for a while. It’s back in production, so I’ll give it a try now!

I am in love with this fragrance! GUESS GOLD WAS AND STILL IS MY SENT! Sadly, they stopped making it! I am on the HUNT for this! If anyone knows where I can purchase this fragrance or if they have it and no longer need it, I will gladly take it off your hands and purchase it from you! I know Ebay sells it but I just don't trust that grand price :( PLEASE BRING THIS BACK GUESS!! Are they any dupes? Please help fragrantica family!!!

Sexy sexy sexy. please bring it back!! My God this is wonderful perfume. Warm clean pretty. I especially love the hyacinth. I do remember some pineapple in beginning. A guy stopped me on the street and said he "loved my lotion" and he couldn't keep his hands off me. And I never been approached because of cologne perfume. And I'm a guy! Lmao Of course discontinued!!!! Guess bring this back! I love this omg!

Sexy, warm, sweet. I love. Love the shimmering body lotion, a real must have:). Just ordered more of it:). I actually have been drawn to Guess perfumes over the years, sometimes I think their fragrances are too powerful, other times, I like the boldness. This one is balanced and I will have this one on my shelf for a while!

I just smelled this one on a young woman in the metro going up the stairs and it was intoxicating. I had to stop her to ask what she was wearing and to my surprise, she said "Guess Gold" and I was thinking it was some kind of niche masterpiece. It just works for her and smells incredible in the air. I was shocked.

Love this perfume! My best friend bought it for my brithday a few years ago...and Ive been buying it ever since. Very feminine and sexy. I find I only need two squirts and Im good to go for the rest of the day! Definitely one of my favs

I love the scent so much!!!!!!!!!!!!! but i think i am alergic to this perfume. My skin wont stop itching after I sprayed Guess Gold, I dont know what to do, I wont stop using it even if it itches!!!!!

I got a LOT of compliments by men with this perfume. I'm sad it has been discontinued. Found out new Bebe's Gold, seems very similar to me.
