Mango Ice

This is so, so, so much better than Opulent Dubai which I truly hated. To be on the safe side I have put this in the closet to mature and test it about once a month. It is much lighter than Opulent which has a horrid house filling silage and longevity. I couldn't wait to get the smell out of my house. Fake smelling mango. Mango Ice on the other hand is a more photo realistic copy of a ripe, juicy, running down your arms mango. It makes you salivate for ripe mangoes and to put your nose close to the skin of a ripe mango! I know my mangoes having lived in the topics for many years. The local ones which were stringy but still tasty, the wonderful large ones from Puerto Rico with flesh soft enough one could scoop out with a spoon, the smallish Mexican ones and I even tried some different varieties in Asia. So I consider myself, not an expert but someone who genuinely knows what Mango taste and smells like. For reference I am using the Puerto Rican mangoes as a scent standard. Mango Ice is truly a lovely gourmand with some juicy almost floral notes. I don't get the caramel, licorice, or chestnuts which are rather strong smelling even un-roasted. I get ripe mangoes and some floral notes. This EDP lasts on my skin about 8 hours, silage is about 2 feet, and lasts on hair and clothing about 8 to 12 hours. I am learning that adding to clothing makes a huge difference in not only lasting powder but my ability to smell it on myself. I have learned that spraying on the wrists is a bit of a waste. However, spraying it on the décolletage puts it right under my nose where the body heat wafts the scent upward towards my noise. I find it is initially refreshing most likely due to the rhubarb. Maybe that is where they get the "Ice" label. I don't know what God of Fire smells like so can not compare. I think maturing the bottle has made some difference but it has only been a couple months. However, it still smelled very nice right out of the bottle. I LOVE ginger so the addition for that note gave it extra points. I find fresh ginger very refreshing and hope to someday find a ginger EDP that lasts longer than 4 hours. I would rate Mango Ice 8 out of 10 and look forward to over spraying the heck out of this lovely scent. I BIG winner for me.

Arabian fragrances are usually good but most of them smell, at least a little synthetic. Mango Ice by Gulf Orchid is amazing and does not smell synthetic at all. The opening is bright, but not too bright to the point it feels really sharp on the nose, just the perfect amount of brightness for a fragrance with this kind of scent profile. The most prominent note is clearly mango (which, by the way, feels very, very natural, was not expecting the mango note to be so "non synthetic") alongside an evident citrusy touch (2nd most prominent), followed with a floral scent undertone. 80% Tropical-fruity and citrusy, 20% florals. The dry down reduces the brightness and increases a little on the spices, which means the mango note stops being the main character and the ginger note starts to be a little bit more prominent. But nothing too crazy, just a tiny fresh spicy. Then, the the musky note starts gaining more presence as well. Performance wise, seems to be moderate to good. I would say this projects well for 1-2 hours if a good amount (8+) is applied, after that, close to moderate projection, and 5-7 hours longevity. However, I did test it only today (around 6 hours ago and I barely feel the fragrance right now), so even though I am pretty convinced this is the kind of perfomance it will have on my skin, I know that maybe this "first impression" can be slightly off. Completely unisex, maybe like 5% leaning the feminine side on the opening (irrelevant tbh, still very very unisex), but then leans slightly more masculine with the dry down. I won't compare to GOF because I have only smelt it once and it was two years ago, but this is an amazing fragrance summer if you want something more tropical with a "not too complex" but still interesting DNA My rate - 8.7/10

Just got this in today, and honestly this is better than I had expected. If you just want the short and sweet than I would simply say that this is a must have for anyone looking for a standout summer scent that still lasts long. Now for those that want a little more detail. When I first sprayed this on, I immediately got a big hit of all those top notes. This is one scent where the notes are actually noticeable in the scent itself. The mango isn't really the star of the show initially though, the lemon, ginger and rhubarb are definitely what carries this top. After about 15 minutes however that photorealistic mango comes back in with some slight amber warmth that really gives this a solid amount of sophistication. The white florals are there, but only as supporting notes to lighten the sweetness of the mango, and it does so beautifully. The base notes of this would make you think that this would become a wintery sweet scent, but surprisingly it remains tropical while adding in a little creamy vanilla twist that really just sets this off. Final Thoughts: This fragrance is honestly a wonderful twist on the scent it is cloning while eliminating that oud scent for those that don't care too much for the profile that it adds. This lasts for a solid 14hrs on my skin while projecting decently for the first 7-8hrs. This filled a gap I didn't even know I had in my collection and will be a summer staple for years to come. Rating: 9/10 - the only thing keeping this from a 10/10 is that it doesn't have a magnetic cap lol

So mango ice I think the name fits this one.. I own Vulcan feu and mango bliss because I love mango fragrances. I only have a sample of this one but it's probably redundant to get a full bottle. This is the closest to Vulcan feu.. however in mango ice the licorice is stronger which gives it almost a mentholated Vibe about it because you spray it and it will clear your sinuses.. and that sticks around on skin versus Vulcan feu which gets softer over time. I'm assuming that's a combination of licorice and rhubarb and Ginger but it's very intense and uplifting it's actually quite addictive. It's smokey in a way but not like barbecue or ashes or cigarettes but like you let a diffuser and put your nose in it. Maybe closer to incense. The mango itself is pretty green it's not as juicy as mango Bliss or Vulcan feu.. it's a little more subdued even though it's still present. I can't compare it to God of fire however I'm getting a sample and I will update this if I do. Personally I think this fragrance is really great but you have to like licorice and that cold sharpness that comes with it. As far as mango fragrances go I prefer Vulcan feu just a little bit because the mango is a bit juicier and the licorice is present but toned down. Longevity is great ..the person before me said it last for 2 hours and I strongly disagree I can smell this most of the day. I'm not really sure what standards people have for longevity but as far as fruity fresh fragrances go this is right up there and one of the better ones.

I got this a few days ago and wore it to work yesterday. I sprayed it more than usually spray a perfume to go to work because I thought it’s a citrus and it’s new so it’s not that strong... well...I got a text from a coworker saying “I knew you were here I can smell your perfume down the hall.” Um excuse me this weak a** thing I can’t smell after 2 hours? Later that day I pulled out a shirt a sprayed this on a few days ago and it was still there. Then I did the ultimate test I sprayed it on the inside of my elbows and then it was night time then I went to sleep. When I tell you I woke up the next day and it had been at least 12 hours since I sprayed it on my skin and I could still smell it like I had just sprayed it...WHAT! So in conclusion this thing is a beast in every sense of the word. It’s long lasting, high projecting, not to mention smells freaking good! I wouldn’t classify it as a mango scent but maybe a citrus with mangoes way in the background. It’s the same level of citrus to me as something like vibrato. And it stays citrus freaking 12 hours later but it get sweeter after a few hours so for $30 yes it’s absolutely worth it and then some. Performance is on $300 level for sure. The scent is really good too but not my favorite. I’m not too sure about the mild spice note (probably from the ginger and licorice) If it had a juicier mango I would be in heaven. I love the kind of mango found in keep glazed by THOO. That’s my favorite mango scent ever ever! Anyways 10/10 baby let’s go!
