The smell is Fascinating! I have not smelled 40 knots, but thought the DNA was something I'd like. It's probably the most beautiful a masculine scent can be, while also being heavy and funky. This could be my broken sniffer, but it smells like sitting on a boat on the river, sun baked leather seats, and faint plastic inflatables, with a touch of that sun screen powder-ness. Interesting combination, but it works so well. It has to be that iris and leather note working together with the sweetness way in the back. I cannot imagine wearing this in any high temp environment. It really is that heavy sun bleached leather smell. You can get away with this in summer but just not in intense climates. I think it's a great date night scent and can be used year round depending on how many sprays you use. This is absolutely nuclear on my skin and clothes, I smell it way after the 8 hour mark with 2 sprays. I would start with a few sprays and not treat it like a designer blue. You will air out the room and you will not get that plastic, powdery leather out of your nose. If you think the bergamot will come through, wrong, its a phantom note. Same or the vanilla. Now it does get to a more amber, dark style later, just not sweet amber. All in all, this is highly interesting and I find joy when spraying this. I do really enjoy the darker nature and complexity that I perceive. This is not suitable for younger men that prefer more blue fragrances that aren't up for a challenging wear. For the price this smells incredibly niche. 8.5/10

Some people think this smells like Coca Cola dipped baby wipes so I tried to recreate the scent using exactly those products in an attempt to save on an already inexpensive fragrance. I found the finest cola known to man and poured it into a box of baby wipes made for the most sensitive behinds. To my dismay, the results were scents you might smell in NYC on a hot summer’s day. Now the house smells like regret. I finally decided to invest in this bottle that, while held in high regard, may have a dirty little secret. Once it arrived, I tore into the outer packaging with the excitement of a diabetic bee about to taste the sweet nectar of syrup. However, I took my time with the elegant inner packaging to preserve its innocence like changing the diaper on a new born. I unbox, prime the atomizer and release a galaxy of molecules destined for a cerebral awakening. This fragrance is stunningly beautiful! My ROI is confirmed when the Mrs compliments my sillage and without a primal need to reproduce due to not being reminded of infant hygiene products. Do try this at home and anywhere else if you decide to join the yacht club. Enjoy!

Reviewers on YouTube keep calling this an aquatic, salty fragrance. No it is not. Put it in the luxury soap category, not Aquatic in any way. And I could see men saying this is too flowery, so not a safe buy for guys unless you already know unisex luxury soap is ok. The quality of the perfumery and ingredients is surprisingly high. It smells and performs niche, not designer. But being niche in scent, it wont be for everyone (male). I think of the scent more like taking an afternoon bubble bath followed by applying a honey scented lotion. The opening lasts a really long time before developing into a basswood honey with balsamic undertone. If you have tasted basswood honey, you know what I mean. This fades slowly over time with a wood scent becoming more prevalent until it fades out by 7-8 hours. For the first 90-120 minutes the scent smells more wet, thus the lotion reference before it slowly dries out. It never becomes dusty. Its mostly white-floral luxury soap, with violet in the background. The honey note starts coming through at about 30 minutes, but does not reach the 50% mark until 2-3 hours.

Brand's not all hype after all... Mind blowing presentation. Seriously. Props. Not great for you peeps who like to throw boxes away - that'll be hard with this one. As for the scent. More floral forward take on 40 Knots with a very prominent violet. Executes the cola-like amber that 40 Knots is known for to damn near perfection. The quality and depth is genuinely mind boggling. It will sound weird, but imagine dipping baby wipes in a glass of fresh coke and ice. It might just be me associating this particular violet with baby wipes, but the OG gave me similar vibes as well. Fascinating DNA that just oozes luxury, indubitably. Not a 1 to 1 necessarily, more feminine but that's what makes it beautiful. You do have to be a lover of violet. And no, not every guy can pull this off. This is different juice.

What you are basically getting is a niche DNA at 80-100 dollar designer level quality for a very affordable price (I paid 28 Euros). Powdery, clean and even slightly soapy violet with hints of smoke and leather and a moderately sweet undertone coming from the honey and vanilla which can give this ambery Coca Cola vibe. Well-blended and sophisticated. It's by no means a summery aquatic nor feels it too heavy or sweet at any stage. Fairly unique with very good performance on my skin: 10-12 hours with solid projection for the first 3 at 25% oil concentration, but it never feels too much or overwhelming. On clothing I can still smell it 24 hours later! Not completely blown away as of yet, but I expect Yacht Club only to get better over time. Anyway, a very nice addition to the collection! 9.2/10

@Infernuth Said that the frag smells like babywipes dipped in coca-cola and ice. It might sound weird, but he/she is completely right. It's almost EXACTLY what this fragrance smells like. I also get some sweetness from the honey, as well as warmth and slight spicy-ness from the amber and incense note. It's an exceptionally well blended fragrance, unfortunately I haven't had the chance to try the OG yet, but once the opportunity presents itself, I'll definitely try that one too. This is definitely one of my new favourite scent DNA's, that's for sure, it's just really well blended, no harsh notes, it's buttery smooth and perfect for a nice spring/summer day at the coast. OK. It is somewhat similar to Xerjoff 40 Knots, yeah. I got it today, after waiting a supremely long time and, upon spraying it, my girlfriend immediately said: "That sucks". I disagree. But I can't say it smells exactly like 40kts either because it's been too long since I last wore it. But yeah, fine. Go and buy it if you feel like it, it's cheap as hell and does smell nice - to me. My girlfriend despises it. Edit.: This smells a lot like 40 Knots, actually. Going from memory. After it dries down, it is indeed very similar to it. Really nice. Edit 2: Similar to 40 Knots. Haven't done them side by side yet, but whatever. It's sweeter than 40 Knots. I like it.

Bought a decant of 40 knots because i loved the scent profile. Recieved this today. It is a very good fragrance, perfectly unisex. Highly similar to 40 knots, especially the drydown. The opening is a bit more floral and synthetic but still very pleasant. Wore 40 knots on one arm and yacht club on the other. The longevity can’t compare- around 4-6 hours for yacht club and 8-10 hours for 40 knots, it is a beast and that is a well known fact. Overall the fragrance is quality and smells amazing, would recommend it.

I'm a total fan of the scent profile. Yes I would say 90% ish inspired by the original. It is clinging and long lasting. For warmer season and for a Gentlemen. I'm looking forward to wear it this spring. Gentlemen >30. And yes I would buy again. Very easy on you wallet ($25). On a side note also resembles the character of Givenchy Isense Ultramarine .. 80% ish. Which you could pick up for ~$30 at fragrance discounters.

I am completely amazed how this fragrance can smell almost identical to 40 knots despite having completely different notes. On my skin this smells complex, intriguing, like a “purple” wood if you could imagine that. It’s a steal at this price, and also lasts approximately as long as the Xerjoff.

Very nice multileyered fragrance- from smoky to floral to sweet. Im suprised how this fragrance is working on me, never knew that it is going to act so complex. For every recommendation. Edit: you can use it also after shower, its clean, nice, honey based fragrance.

Amazing masculine scent with good quality ingredient. Smells high level.

I honestly thought that I should give my bottle of Yacht Club away at first, the baby powder smell coming from this in the first half an hour was hardly bearable. But, as always with dupe fragrances, I gave it a second chance (maceration-ish), sprayed it another day, and another day, and after like the 4th/5th day, the baby powder smell completely went away. After that, surprisingly, a work buddy even asked me what I'm wearing and he wrote down the name of the frag so I guess he really liked it. What I'm left with now is honey, loads of honey and some white florals, mind you, I'm no expert in distinguishing notes, but this is how it feels like. It's also sort of similar to Air Wick Cool Linen, the room freshener in a way. After a while it turns resinous and dusty/powdery. Overall I think it's a decent fragrance, definitely unique, could be worn in all seasons, office safe I'd say, I don't see any sex appeal to it, so not that good for dates. I also go noseblind pretty quick to it, but yet again, I once sprayed this on a tee that I slept with and the next morning I could still sense it pretty well, so you'll still get whiffs here and there. And as for the vibes it gives, nothing fancy, it just smells like you've got clean clothes on, but due to its unicity, people might notice you a lot.

Bought this for myself after discovering it at a perfume shop. It was offered to me as a men's fragrance, but hey, here I am, rocking it while wearing high heels! To me it's very unisex, except for the very last dry down (10h+), which definitely leans masculine. Then I just reapply. It's a very well rounded symphony, elegantly walking on the ledge between thick and airy, very addictive, and thank God - lacking that overwhelming typical middle eastern note present in almost all their fragrances! Lasts longer on clothes than on skin, at least on me. Might not be every lady's cup of tea, but it sure is mine 💙

Bought this like a month ago, and after maceration, I really enjoy using it. It smells like baby wipes for the first 30/45 minutes, which I don't mind, but after that it changes wonderfully. It smells a lot better and you start to smell incense, I don't get that salty smell people talk about, it's definitely not salty. For 30$, I think this is an absolute bargain, it's easy to wear and the performance is pretty good too! If you're looking for something that stands out from the other summer fragrances, I'd definitely recommend trying this one out.

You have to get past the opening. It’s 10–15 minutes of baby powder and baby wipes. As it dries down, things get interesting, with the middle notes (violet and laudanum) taking centre stage. It becomes an elegant fragrance, but not overpowering, and, for me, versatile for day and night and all four seasons (ideal for autumn and spring). If the initial drying experience is unpleasant: layering with a citrus or sharp fragrance eliminates that heavy baby wipe smell and helps you dry off in "grown-up" mode. Good value at my place at 16 dollars.

I found this for 30€ only, and I surprised how close it is from Xerjoff 40 knots. I have both , and I can easily say 70% identical. The 30% difference is that 40 Knots more salty, while the Yacht Club is more shower gely, and this part goes in YSL Bleu Electrique direction. So , I can say it is 70% Xerjoff 40 knots , With 30% YSL Bleu Electrique. In general , I like the quality and the scent profile, and it is worth more than I paid. Performance is very good also.

This has a rose scent not listed, but its done in a jammy rose sort of way. I get incense, rose and a sort of praline, or chocolate soda type of scent lol. I like it so far it's very unique. I have no clue how someone could pull this off in the summer? It's defined a cooler weather type of fragrance. I csn see this being great for the Spring and Fall.

#1796 in my “Tour de Fragrance” To start with. "40 Knots"? I’m certainly not getting that. What is so weird is people think L’Orientale’s “Night de Paris Amaris” smells like 40 Knotts. "Night de Paris Amaris” and this “Yacht Club” are in fact dupes of one another but haven’t a note in common with 40 Knotts. I’m suspicious the 40 Knotts comparison is a marketing ploy by Gulf Orchid to sell this scent. This blind buy was worth the pittance I paid for it. Inoffensive, simple. Performance is unimpressive, and it pretty much requires a couple of hours on your skin to really get likable. Go heavy in the morning and I would definitely respray at lunch. Another reviewer suggested layering, maybe with something sharper. The bergamot here is pretty weak. But for me, if I have to layer it’s a waste of time to own. I’ll wait to see what sort of response this gets, if any, but probably a giveaway for me. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

Have not smelled the original, just going purely off the decant I got. Smells honey-sweet and resinous in the opening. it keeps that scent more in the dry down giving a mature vibe. reminds me a bit of baby powder too. not my kind of DNA but it does smell well blended. try first. Projects strongly and I get about 8 hours on my skin.

Baby wipes soaked in coca cola but sweeter than 40 Knots, definitely not better. Hmmmm 65%-70% 40 knots with a rose undertone feeling that is not listed. Which maybe could be more of a 40 Noeuds than 40 Knots. Hmmm with this or the og Id save your money and get 40 knots.

I’ve been wanting 40 knots so I got this and it came today but idk how I feel about it it doesn’t smell bad it’s mid I can barely smell it

If you love baby powder you're in for a treat here. In the dry down the usual arabian rose.

I went anosmic to this fragrance. On the opening all I picked up with my nose buried into my arm was a soft, clean, baby powder scent with no projection or scent trail. As it dried down, still no projection or scent trail detected, but was able to pick up more of a sweet, resinous profile on skin due to the honey and laudanum.

The more i smell it, the more i dislike it. It is just too floral and powdery, and honestly smells nothing like 40 knots. It smells like a powdery, sweet, grandma scent. Very much not a fan.

I've never smelled 40 Knots before, But in 2022 I bought a cologne that just blew me away, And I still can't believe I paid $54 and ounce for it (Hey, that's high dollar for a retired blue collared man), But to my nose it was worth every penny, maybe not to ya'll, We all have different taste. Well, I decided I'd pull the trigger on a backup bottle, Not that I've used a lot of the first one, I use it very sparingly, But to my despair, it had been discontinued. Even the Ebay trolls were out of it. Well, I placed an order for a few fragrences (That can be 2,3,4,5 depending on how addicted you are) or more, At Jomashop, Then I waited, and waited, and waited, and waited (Hey its Jomashop) and one came in then a few days more a few more came in. Well, When I smelt what I bought, I was pretty impressed (I don't decant much, pretty much go with a good guess, And Blind buy most things) I liked almost everything I bought, But the Yacht Club, Wow! It was about 90% close to that cologne I bought in 2022, At a steal of a price, Well, I already have a back up bottle ordered. Whoever don't like Yacht Club, That Mo Fa Me! Cus just about everytime I wore that high priced cologne, I got a compliment, And the first time I went to the store, Yeap! got a compliment, Dollar General, got another one, And that's all I got to say about that. Nowwwww ya'll can wonder what that 2022 cologne was LOL!

9/10 This smells expensive and is seriously impressive. It gives off a distinctly old money feel. Wow, it's good. I've never smelled what inspired this fragrance, but regardless of your wealth status, if you're smartly dressed and carry yourself properly, this frag will do the rest. The subtle refinement and niche profile are undeniable. Can't wait to rock this over the spring and summer, I have just the right linen jacket to go with it. Update: gave it a full wear in 72F weather and received three genuine compliments. Lasted 6hr before going to skin scent. Spring/summer banger!

Naaa, this is definitely niche quality, no designer frag can pull this off. Note that this fragrance has to be an acquired taste, as majority of people would not know what this smells like, you cannot pinpoint what it smells like because it is very well blended. It has this heavy yet salty powdery undertone to it. You can pull this off in the summer with 3 sprays max. People would be able to tell that you are putting on something expensive.

not gonna rank this yet but its literal baby wipes. I'll let it macerate, but genuinely is literal babywipes. But it doesnt smell like meteore type babywipes. Smells alright up close ironically, but yeah idk, will see how it goes..

i reasonably nice unisex male leaning fresh scent with dark tones. i personally would stick to something from YSL - i saw one in the 'compared to section'. fine, but i dont wanna spray it all over

I have both this and 40 Knots. This is sweeter, more ambery, but it definitely smells like 40 Knots. I prefer this one over 40 Knots actually.

Has anyone actually gotten their hands on this one yet? I love 40 knots, I'm very excited to try this out!

Less sharp 40 knots. Thats all I have to say. And yes I own both and compared side by side.
