Mikul

Kind of funny the other review below notes this as similar vibe to a lighter BdC- I just tried BdC and hated it’s sweetness on paper so much that I couldn’t even try it on skin. I do however love the Mikul scent. (If you like BdC you can still like this.) That said the notes are closer to D&G The One, and while you would not mistake them for each other, Mikul is like a fresh, clean, airier relative of The One. Of the sample set, I ordered a full bottle of this. The Guy Fox scents overall are pretty good and all lean towards a lighter scent (def fits the So Cal brand vibe), nothing heavy/challenging or too complicated but certainly a noticeable step above cheapies that are very 1 note or low quality. Nothing was harsh and it seems like they use quality ingredients. Longevity is really good, I think that’s due to the high EdP concentration of the oils. Of my bottle and the samples none felt watered down, scratchy, or weak. I found myself using the Mikul sample over and over again so I went in for a full bottle.

Immediately upon applying Mikul, the first scent that came to my mind was Chanel Bleu. Mikul is mainly a blue fragrance. I did a direct compare with Bleu EdP on my wrist. They are not identical. It seemed Bleu EdP was a bit more woody after dry down than Mikul. I next compared it to Missoni Wave which I sprayed on my other wrist. The opening was quite different but as Wave dried down, they became more alike. As a difference though, Wave has a mild aquatic accord which Mikul lacks. I have a few more fresh blues but didn't bother comparing them (e.g. the several Tommy Bahama's that I have). I think you get the idea. Mikul had better longevity than Bleu or Wave. I got a good 8 to 9 hours out of it. However, like those two, projection is moderate. Mikul is a great blue fresh scent with very good longevity. It would be pretty versatile for any occasion, day or night and any time of the year. I'm guessing it would really shine in summer. UPDATE (1/18/2025): I've completed testing all of the Guy Fox fragrances available in their two sample sets. One set is for the "Founder's Reserve" Collection while the other contains all their standard releases. Here's my ranking of all of them, with a few notes: First group, ranked in order of my preference. These are the top Guy Fox fumes in my book - full bottle worthy, with Nightcap being the best: 1. Nightcap 2. Fairway 3. Vince 4. Nelson Second group, no rank or order, just grouped together. Nice scents. I like them, but not enough to buy a FB: Aspen Primo Mikul Jefe Preston Third group, no rank or order, just grouped together. OK, somewhat generic. Mediocre performance for some: Palmer Tyler Marra JP Fourth group. Just plain awful. Was almost a scrubber for me: Riviera

Middle aged Georgia cowboy here: Just got in my fragrance sampler (10 samples in just 3 days across the country - impressive) and Mikul is the 8th one I'm trying. Not impressed with this one. Too similar to Jefe below but weak on the open and didn't last long. For me 5.0/10. Of those in the sample I've tried so far from fave to least: Palmer (9/10) (piney/woodsy) Primo (8/10) (smoky/leathery) different from the others so far, very manly Jefe (8/10) (orangey then oceanic with clean hot linen) different from the others so far, very beachy JP (7.5/10) (limey/woodsy/classy) Vince (7/10) (limey/woodsy) Marra (6/10) (limey/woodsy) Tyler (6/10) (citrussy/coconutty/woodsy) Mikul (5/10) basically Jefe without the citrus in the open but weak.
