Nightcap

I bought a sample of this fragrance and was amazed how good this scent was. I have owned a couple of fragrances from this house and I would describe them as a good/decent cheapie brand. The quality is what I would expect from a top niche brand. This doesn’t smell harsh or synthetic and is very pleasant. To my nose the prominent notes are the leather, smoke and oud with a detectable whiskey note. The lactonic and vanilla notes smoothing everything out very nicely. Longevity is 8 plus hours on my skin with very good projection. I own a bottle of Pavillon Rouge and I wish it smelled like this fragrance. Honestly, I would prefer Nightcap over Pavillon Rouge. If the listed notes are your type of scent I would highly recommend you sample this. FB worthy in my opinion.

Nightcap is just soooo damn sexy. Picked up a bottle from batch #2. My bottle was leather and booze heavy off the rip! Smokey whiskey barrell met the boozy leather in the mid. About 2 hours later in the drydown is where I got this gorgeous, decadent, sexy, delicious, bourbon vanilla mixed with a faint oud scent, that blended beautifully with the woods, leather and booziness. 10/10 and my favorite Guy Fox fragrance so far. This was my introduction into Guy Fox. I grabbed Nightcap along with the Starter Kit that included 7 Guy Fox fragrances, and the "Secret Set" that had 3 additional fragrances. Definitely the best they currently offer for me.

Caught a whiff of this from my uncle and had to ask what he was wearing. It hit me right away, warm, smooth, and a little sweet without being too much. I picked up bourbon, leather, maybe some vanilla or smoke in there too. It smelled expensive and really well put together. Not loud, but it had presence, like it was made to leave an impression without shouting. Honestly didn’t expect to like it that much, but it stuck with me for hours. One of those scents that makes you want to keep smelling it. Definitely curious to try it for myself now

The opening is the best part, the dry down is a bit milky smelling but I layered this with Akro Bake, Scents of wood Praline in Maple. And WOW I was moving different. Nothing but strong inhales everywhere I went. This is a great buy however I'd say the sweet spot is 100 dollars for this one.

By far, this is the most well constructed scent they have in their line-up. The others smell great, but I just think this one smells top-tier. Supper glad I pulled the trigger on this one. Get a decant or something if you don't want the whole bottle (if they last). 374/500

I'm bottle 9 of 700 in the second batch. I never smelled the first batch but this is very nice. Crazy strong and powerful stuff. A little goes a long way. You can definitely fill a room with more than about 3-4 sprays. Very interested to try some of the other scents.

I got 255/700 of batch #2. The vanilla and bourbon are the main stars on a stage of leather. I love how rich but soft this fragrance is and it’s got decent longevity on my dry skin as well. This has got to be one of my favorite leather scents.

I agree with comment below. This is waaay better than Pavillon Rouge and I love PR. This stuff definitely has some power. So glad I jumped on this one. If you like boozy scents then this is your guy.

Received my bottle, #493, a couple of days ago. Only 500 bottles were made of the first batch, so made it right under the wire. Confirmed on the Guy Fox web page - 50 ml bottles are sold out. Only 2 ml samples left. Really nice, quality fragrance. With opening spray, noticed the malt, tobacco and general spiciness. Couldn't pick out the orange, ginger, nutmeg or coriander. The top notes retreated while the oud, whiskey and leather made their presence known. What was weird is that the whiskey disappeared as the smoky scent appeared but after it settled down, the whiskey scent came back. It impressed me mainly as an oud, smoky, whiskey, leather fragrance, in that order of prominence. After about 2 hours, the whiskey scent dropped out while I was sitting and doing some reading. When I got up and moved around, the whiskey scent reappeared. Noticed that for about 8 hours. After that, it pretty much retreated permanently as did the leather, ending up more or less like a oud/smoky fragrance. Overall sweetness is just right - just enough to take any edge off. (I generally do not like sweet fragrances.) Nightcap has beast mode performance. I applied 2 sprays on my chest, 2 on my neck and 2 on my t-shirt. Liquid is quite oily. Wore a shirt over my t-shirt and still had very strong sillage and projection for at least a good 7 to 8 hours. Around 8 to 10 hours, there was still a scent bubble around a foot out. It's now going on 12+ hours and it's down to a strong skin scent. Very pleased with the performance. Overall, the oud, smoky, whiskey, leather scent is not nostril jolting but rather a civilized, masculine fragrance. Nightcap would be a very good oud/smoky/boozy/leather intro for a guy to try out. No need to fear the barnyard; sour leather; barbecue smoke house or a drunken boozer. lol To put it another way, I'd like it dialed up some, however the way it is makes it more appealing to a broader audience and it is good. It doesn't strike me as heavy - could most likely work 24/7, all year round - anytime a quality, classy fragrances is needed. Nightcap is a definite winner for Guy Fox. While none of their other fragrances really resonated with me based on their descriptions, I'm very happy with my blind buy of Nightcap. Too bad it's sold out. Hopefully they'll whip up another batch quick. Day 2: Wanted to check performance without spraying my shirt. Applied 2 sprays on my chest and 2 on the neck. Going on about 10 hours now and would knock off about 2 hours from the numbers above from yesterday. Still very good performance. Plus my girlfriend loves it. UPDATE (1/18/2025): I've completed testing all of the Guy Fox fragrances available in their two sample sets. One set is for the "Founder's Reserve" Collection while the other contains all their standard releases. Here's my ranking of all of them, with a few notes: First group, ranked in order of my preference. These are the top Guy Fox fumes in my book - full bottle worthy, with Nightcap being the best: 1. Nightcap 2. Fairway 3. Vince 4. Nelson Second group, no rank or order, just grouped together. Nice scents. I like them, but not enough to buy a FB: Aspen Primo Mikul Jefe Preston Third group, no rank or order, just grouped together. OK, somewhat generic. Mediocre performance for some: Palmer Tyler Marra JP Fourth group. Just plain awful. Was almost a scrubber for me: Riviera

The second batch of Nightcap is available. 700 bottles this time instead of 500 for batch #1 which sold out quickly.

Got a steal on EBay auction on bottle 411. (No idea why someone would sell it basically unopened for half what they paid but I was very happy). I like Guy Fox fragrances but they're all very Summer and this is their first non-Summer scent so I had to try it. This feels luxurious. Definitely reminds me of two of my favorites - Jazz Club and Cashmeran in Cognac by Scents of Wood. Really great longevity as you'd expect from an extrait. It has the same rich smooth, slightly smokey, slightly woodsy, slightly boozy dna. My only issue is the sharp tangy note in the middle, possibly the cardamom or nutmeg. Reminds me of what I didn't like about Autumn Vibes. But the sharp tangy note mellows into a lovely smooth dry down and I still smelled it the next day. A luxury steal. ETA - their new release Primo is almost identical, a virtual flanker at half the price.

Congratulations on the sales on these. My bottle is marked as the #305th owner so it really shows here. This is only similar to Pavillon Rouge's opening so it takes that aged bourbon aspect and adds a smooth silky smoky vanilla but it's not more of the sweeter vanilla pod gourmand type vanillas but is a great addition if you're starting out on your fragrance journey. Now Because I can detect some orange in here, It kind of reminds me of tumi continuum. This really does last +7 hours so that's a thumbs up. I still think Pavillon Rouge's drydown is untouchable; really relaying the message that founders reserve does it's own thing and is worth a try!

I received bottle 11/500 on batch #1. It was the first fragrance I went in on with a full bottle in my scent journey. I had previously only purchased their discovery sample set (all of which I loved) and when I saw this promo ad that my wife sent my way I figured it would be right up my alley. It still smells nothing like anything in my collection, which I do really love. What I get the most from it is a petroleum fume, but if it were soaking leather. That doesn’t sound fantastic, but if you’re into strong, boozy and Smokey leather that doesn’t fade throughout your evening, I’d recommend. Certainly a “special occasion” wear.

Received #394 of 500 and I gotta say I’m immediately impressed with the composition of this fragrance!! I smell the oud and this fragrance definitely possesses some distinction and quality. It really reminds me of a more full and characteristic 1 Million Prive which is really surprising!! You get more rugged and masculine facets for sure with Nightcap where Prive is more sweet but overall I’m super impressed and can’t wait to give this gem some wear when I need something that oozes masculinity and class. It must be the prominent orange and tobacco notes giving me the resemblance.

I had batch code 666. It smelled like shmoo.Not good shmoo either, you know that shmoo, that smells like poo, you do. Im through, smelling shmoo, and it get a bad review
