Drakkar Noir

Drakkar, to me, is one of those fragrances that feels simple and full at the same time. Clean and fresh on the surface, but with real depth underneath. You get the aromatic character right away, with lavender, oakmoss, vetiver, and a subtle leathery touch that gives it structure and richness. It doesn’t smell dated or “old school fougère” to my nose. Instead, it feels timeless, well put together, and slightly zingy in a very refreshing way. Drakkar is a very special fragrance for me. Not knowing anything about its massive popularity in the U.S. back in the 80s and 90s, or its low price point at discounters, this was for many years one of my favorite scents. I’m Brazilian and used to live in Brazil, where this fragrance wasn’t that popular or common, so when a family member brought it to me from a trip (when I was a teenager), it instantly became something unique for me. I went through multiple bottles over the years, and to this day it’s still part of my rotation. Feedback has always been mixed in an interesting way. I’ve received plenty of compliments like “you smell great” or “you always smell fresh,” but here in the U.S. I’ve also had people immediately recognize it. Some mentioned how popular it used to be and how it reminded them of high school boyfriends or younger days, especially people in their late 30s and 40s. Not necessarily the reaction you’re aiming for, but honestly, I take it with humor and appreciation for what it represents. One thing that might surprise some people is that lately I’ve been experimenting with layering Drakkar with other fragrances. On its own, it already has a very complex aromatic fougère profile, but I’ve found it works beautifully when combined with other scents. On the fresher side, I’ve layered it with very bright, simple colognes, often built around notes already present in Drakkar, like lavender, especially from a Brazilian perfume house called Granado, known for its very natural, minimalist colognes, which add a crisp and uplifting effect. On the sweeter side, I’ve paired it with fragrances like Uomo Signature by Salvatore Ferragamo, which on its own can be a bit too sweet for my taste, but together with Drakkar creates a really balanced and addictive blend. The result reminds me in character, though not in smell, of something like Layton, that mix of sweetness with freshness and zing. What’s funny to me is that even with a collection of over 70 fragrances, many of them far more hyped and expensive than Drakkar, this (cheap) classic continues to be one of my most worn scents over the years. Say what you want about it, there’s a reason it became iconic. It may not be trendy anymore, but it’s timeless, and for me, it will always have a place in my rotation.

ICONIC After I started to collect perfumes after many years in the shadow, the one I wish to got from the 80s to feel that wild spirt running inside of my veins it was Drakkar Noir. I wanna get the roar of power and I did...but in the wrong way. Firstly I tried and it was holy f..., is extremely strong, how people like that piece of garbage in the 80s, didn't get it honestly, my brain still stuck in recient years while Replica or Lattafa has mass appeling. I bought just to collect and I used once to give him a chances,, first time not convenced my it all: strong notes from the beginning and harash opening. Second time is when the magic around this perfumes cames: strong, bold, agressive, a real declaration of man who knows what he want in life, after that, became my signature scent dethroning my lovely Dior Fahrenheit. I spent time and money to get the oldest model from the 80s and man,is a different story, just 2/3 sprays and people kneeling of your path, is extremely amazing but this newest reformulation(mine is from 2007, almost 20 years) is wild, is what you really need to use and is covering many aspects: work(but carefull if you are in a small office), walking in a lazy day, gym, fall, winter and even early spring. Millennials to Z generation: If you want to know the differences between a man in the 80s/90s and your generation, go to get a tester of Drakkar and in the other hand Toy Boy from Moschino, if you don't realises yet u are a lose case. You want it?? YES You need it?? YES Blind buy? NO -Longevity: 9 -Projection: 8 -Sillage: 9 -Scent: 9.5 -Versatile: 8.5 -Worth Value: 9 Even me that I am accustomed to strong perfumes it was a little bit hard for me, after that is like a shoes, while you walk more and more becoming more confortable, that's what is going to happen to you buy it 9

So, fragrance has been my (very) recent area of hyperfixation. I wanted to do my homework and get acquainted with classic men's scents, and I already knew the name "Drakkar Noir", so I figured this scent must have been famous or infamous. So I hopped online, read some reviews, and ordered myself a bottle on clearance Basically, what every other review has said is true. You HAVE smelled this before and once you smell it, you'll get it (duh!). To me, it smells exactly like the barbershop I grew up going with my Dad to, where my barber didn't speak English and shaved me with a straight razor when I was only 7. Dad definitely wore this. Nostalgia, clean, and manly. To be honest, I was really disappointed when I first smelled it because I *hated* it ; loud, brash, macho, and overbearing (also like dad). But I kept it on my dresser, in hopes that I may one day understand the allure of this legendary scent. That day was apparently today, as I felt the bottle whisper to me, "try again"... I did as I was told and took another whiff, and to my amazement, it was like a whole different fragrance. Woody, kind of floral, very fresh and clean, but a little dark and mysterious. I went to a surprise birthday party today and planned to wear Y EDP, or maybe Montblanc Legend Spirit, or even CDNIM, but I decided what the hell and went with Drakkar Noir. Literally upon arrival, I hugged a friend and she told me, "Wow you smell good!". Her sister then smelled me and agreed. I was in shock ; the first fragrance to get me an unprompted compliment was Drakkar Noir?! Like what my dad wore in the 80s? But like any son who has now grown into his own man, I could only hear my dad's voice telling me "You'll understand when you're older". Sometimes, the old man is right.

That said, I always recommend trying it before purchasing, as it is not a universally appealing scent. However, for those who—like myself—suffer from the “fragrance fever” and hold a deep respect for the history of perfumery, Drakkar Noir remains an essential pillar in a well-rounded collection.

I bought this perfume for my brother’s 28th birthday and I really like it as a budget gift!🎀 I disagree with some of the users saying this is old-fashioned scent for older men, to me it felt quite young and modern with air of sophistication, could be totally suitable for young men as well. As a girl, I find this perfume quite pleasant and masculine. It is nicely balanced between fresh and forest-y but it is not sharp, which I love since I got a very sensitive nose. Unlike some descriptions claiming this scent as seductive, I wouldn’t particularly say this is a peak masculine hot energy. BUT the scent is perfect as it is and still distinctly masculine, it doesn’t have to be warm or spicy. The forest-y scent dries down to nice lemon and woodsy pine vibes, feels like you’re walking around the woods after the rain 🌧️😌😌. I love the soft pine and lemon notes the most, Drakkar Noir is effortlessly fresh without being too forced, sharp or cloying. It has this clean vibe going on and while it is more on a cold mood and more suitable for warm weather, I would say it can be worn during winter too. The smell feels completely natural and not artificial, doesn’t smell like cleaning products at all. IT’S VERY SIMILAR TO OLD SPICE BTW + lemon and woody, which is great🍃🌲🪵. The bottle feels nice, even if the design is not particularly expensive, but the price is great for such product. This perfume would match any guy in my opinion, very universal and eternal scent, and I think it can also be used by girls too due to its fresh and clean traits, if you are into that! If you are a beginner for perfumes, you should definitely start with this one because it is universal and very difficult to hate. Any girl would find this scent nice on u!!

My first encounter with Drakkar Noir was a tester in a Walgreenes on a late night run for... something I don't remember now. SInce then I tend to take testers with a grain of salt, because that was a foul whiff that dumped my mind's eye in a public restroom. 'Course that could've been the Jovan Musk I also sampled (It probably was). After a far more pleasant experience with a JCPenney's tester, I elected to nab a bottle of Drakkar... elsewhere, stuff's like twenty bucks depending where you look. What a nice twenty bucks indeed, this beats the "old smelling" allegations that its contemporaries get. Yes, I know its been reformulated a lot since '82, but that might be for the better in this case. To me, Drakkar Noir kicks off with an unexpectedly smooth blast of pine-y lemon and spicy lavender. The lemon burns away pretty quick, and you're left with that lavender and the pine that lends an almost metholated touch to it. Not sure I get all 27 notes listed here, kind of like Dr. Pepper. I just don't get all those flavors. However, like many, MANY, people have said, Drakkar Noir really does smell like a nice shaving product, or, yeah, body wash. But it's nice, it beats most you can get for 20 dollars. It gives me about five or six hours, two sprays of course. Not the overpowering beast from the '80s, but that's okay. Drakkar Noir ends up being a little less dated these days, since there's plenty of new trendy releases that are pretty similar (*cough* Sauvage Elixir *cough*). They just replace the pine with... sugar? Definitely sweeter than Drakkar, but again, if the trend is heading back to fougeres, a little sugar is okay. So, Drakkar Noir, Cool stuff. Just remember: If it smells bad, blame the nasty, gunked up tester.

@luigi5989 a couple reviews down is 💯 percent on point! Smells AMAZING but it does NOT last more than an hour on skin if that!! What a shame man! Seriously tho, I purchased a bottle prior to Christmas 2024 and although it did start off strong and smelling very close to how it did back in the day, this new formulation would completely fade within 20 minutes of application!. Ive tried using it several times since then to see if there were any improvements, but there really was not, so I put my bottle away until tonight hoping that "Maturation" would do its majic, and so its now had a chance to mature for over seven months , just sprayed 2 full spritzes on one spot on my arm and it now lasts a whole, whopping 45 minutes on my skin🙄😤😡!! LMAO! Why would they just completely neuter one of THEE MOST BELOVED, Classic men's 80's (Powethouse) fragrances like that?! And I dont wanna hear "IFRA regulations" thats complete BS bc there are so many reformulated classics that still have decent to great performance which meet regulations, so theres really NO EXCUSE for this horrendous reformulation! WTF were they thinking man?! And its not a heck of a whole lot better on clothes lasting maybe 2 hours before having the faintest of sillage where it hardly noticable after the 2 hour mark! What an ABOMINATION! So, my public service announcement for Drakkar Noire latest formulation bottles is, unless ya just want a bottle of the original to display amongst your collection, and don't expect to have a lasting, nostalgic trip down "Scent Memory Lane" SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY A GOOD DUPE OR SOMETHING because Drakkar Noire now officially SSSSUCKS! 🥲😭

Great fragrance. I wore this in the early 90s in my early 20s when I was just figuring life out on my own. While it was not my dumb reach because everybody was wearing it and it became a bit of a joke but also because I was living in the Caribbean and AdG was king of summer. back then I couldn't appreciate the complexities of this but was a great versatile scent except for really hot days. I just got gifted a new bottle as a bit tongue-in-cheek to me getting on in age but more than happy to wear this. I've already had a couple compliments about how masculine and sexy this is. One lady asked what I was wearing and when I told her, she kind of chuckled and couldn't believe it smelled so good and I could tell it brought back some good memories from BITD. I especially like the piney, woody base with hints of vanilla remaining in the dry down. One thing I definitely noticed was the longevity...or lack thereof. I remember early formulations lasting much, much longer than the current one even for an EDT. You can't shower in it for fear of clearing out the room but 2 sprays per spot should do the trick as it settles quickly lasting 2-3 noticable hours on my skin before becoming a intimate skin scent and disappearing. I noticed that when you're just about to fully lose the scent, you pick up the last remnant of bathroom cleaner but you really have to do a big sniff to get it. easy to live with. For the price, you can afford two or three bottles to keep around if need be. Love it for autumn and winter and at the most, summer nights if you don't have AdG around. Every fraghead needs a bottle of this in their arsenal.

Drakkar Noir back then was an all-nighter Ray-Ban Clubmaster's beast. FF to today (2026) it's a crying shame. This is not understandable. The old formula, although not chemically legal anymore, it is still reproducible to a much better closeness than the current product offers. But demand for this scent profile has also diminished drastically. If you're in the mood to experiment and time-travel a bit, you can spray Drakkar Noir, Lomani pour homme and Al-Rehab Dakar closely together on skin. None of the above has nowadays the power the 1980s Drakkar Noir had, but you can get closer to the original Drakkar Noir's impetus by combining all three: You will still get Drakkar high-impact top punch you like a bad wife, Lomani's lavender will bamboozle you like a gipsy car seller and Dakar will put the hairy moss-oomph those two lack. There's no known commercial equivalent to the old Drakkar-Noir to my knowledge in 2026, as many of the aromachemicals from the original formula got regulated by safety norms to non-existence. If you buy a vintage online, most surely the top notes won't be intact at all. So let this perfume live rent-free forever in our lizard brain. But if you're serious about getting that lovin' feeling back, layer the three aforementioned into one skin spot, and post back if it gave you a smile or a smirk.

Spray it everywhere. First spray in the AM spray 10 times. Carry. The. Bottle. With. You. You understand what I'm saying? Put that big a** bottle in your pocket. If it won't fit, buy new pants with bigger pockets. Spray it mid day 5 more sprays, afternoon 5 sprays. 5 more sprays in the evening, 5 more at night. WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO? RUN OUT? GONNA CRY ABOUT "MUH LONGEVITY, MUH PROJECTIOOON :'(" BUY ANOTHER $30 6.7 OUNCE BOTTLE AND STOP BI***ING ABOUT PERFORMANCE Frfr even with 8 sprays this projects pretty good "oh look he's doing a proper review now" SYKE. Seriously though in my opinion this is a masterpiece. Spray your hair, spray your balls, your car, your bed, your dog, your dad, a stranger, a fat girl, your grandma, someone else's grandma. Just buy this and appreciate it. It deserves the appreciation. It does not really smell that old school, it's just not sweet like modern stuff. Quit whining about it not smelling like little sweet baby in a bottle. This is MAN JUICE. Shut up and buy it. It's better than the intense version.

What truly surprised me wasn’t the scent profile — we all know what Drakkar Noir is — but the endurance. A seven-year-old bottle, no less. One might expect degradation, evaporation, a tragic thinning of character. Instead, it delivered stamina bordering on operatic. Is it refined? Not especially. Is it elegant? Debatable. Is it indestructible? Apparently. I find myself incredibly impressed. It’s the fragrance equivalent of discovering your old Volvo wagon still starts on the first turn after sitting in a coastal garage for a decade. Lavender, herbs, oakmoss, a bit of that inky darkness — all very... nightclub in a mirrored blazer. This particular specimen — a 1-ounce bottle from 2019, mind you, practically a time capsule — performed like it had something to prove. I applied it in the morning, expecting the usual two-hour nostalgic cameo. Instead? It simply refused to leave. Lunch? Present. Afternoon meetings? Quite composed. Evening? Still humming along in a dignified fougère murmur. And at nearly the 24-hour mark — and I say this without hyperbole — it was still perceptible on skin. Not clinging desperately. Not ghosting. Present. Color me flabbergasted, Drakkar Noir.

Did a review on this before but I will say it again This is a fantastic cheapie, can easily cop a £20 200ml of this on Amazon Aromatic, Fresh, Woody People saying this is a “old man fragrance” when in fact I love it as a guilty pleasure, it’s extremely masculine that I can see women loving it on us guys, it’s distinctive now to be different than what is out there Also I can see why the older guys in the community loved this back in the day (which apparently it was super strong compared to the nerfed version now) and was referred to as the Dior Sauvage of the 1980s Also heard this was the fragrance that Chris Evans used to steal from his dad to spray on back in the day so it was good enough for Captain America My only problem with this however is I wish the performance was more but I can see overspraying being the remedy to this If I was growing up in the 80s and 90s, this and Issey Miyake L’eau D’issey Pour Homme would be more go tos Iconic fragrance and the father of Dior Sauvage (especially Elixir)

Often used a fragrance punchline in influencer humor, there's an element of truth because this is still popular 40+ years later. The herbal and citrus opening really hits with a lemon verbena, basil, lavender, minty, parsley like experience. It's not a spice rack, it's a walk-in herb garden initially, imbuing freshness. Florals overtake in the heart with jasmine and carnation being the largest two notes to my nose, backfilling with the sweeter spices coriander and cinnamon. As it transitions into the base I get a gin vibe coming from the juniper that I expected in the middle, dropping me off in a lush evergreen forest with firs and pine. It's mossy, a little leathery, and with nose to skin I can hunt out some patchouli hiding behind balsamic resinous amber. This fragrance keeps getting made because it keeps selling; it keeps selling because it's good. Edit: After more wears, I had to upgrade this to a love. The soapy green freshness makes it fantastic in the Springtime.

I smelled the body spray version of this and fell in love with it. I wound up buying the cologne itself and it is in my fragrance wardrobe. I wear this as a woman and I still get compliments just as much as a guy would. It's timeless, it's classic, it's elegant, its got regality to it. One of my favorite colognes, the fragrance notes blend work well with my body's chemistry, it's a classic barber shop fragrance that turned heads in the 80s, and now in the 2020s. Hands down a good quality cologne for just under $20 (at least where I bought it)? You can't go wrong with this, you'll get completely blown away by how many compliments you'll get. I smelled a lot of the spicy notes on my skin as well as the pine, leather, and sandalwood notes. It's not an overpowering fragrance but it lasts a long time, you won't need to respray this at all.

My grandfather wore this, brings back a time when I was younger going to church with him. New Formulation: Creamy, soapy, sharp. 2 - 4 hours projection. 3 foot sillage. Old Formulation: Sharp up front, very cold, masculinity in a bottle. 4-6 hours good projection. 6 foot sillage. edit: after wearing maybe 30/35 times since I've written the first part of the review (new formulation), I've had people say it smells like manure, and I've had people absolutely obsessed with it to the point where they keep leaning in for another whiff, which doesn't occur with any of my other fragrances. My collection has niche, designer, and dupes, yet I continue to grab this 25$ grail. Though the opening may be quite polarizing, and it may be a bit dated, this fragrance is a gorgeous, powerful statement piece that continues to impress 40 years later.

After all these years collecting all types of frags, I'm still searching for something that smells exactly like 90s Drakkar formulations. For people who never got the chance of smelling that will never know just how powerful it was. But it was also smoother and very jasmine forward, which gave it a lasting subtle sweetness . Todays formulation is dry, very weak and light BUT surprisingly still great, just not what it was before. I've tried Taxi, which is ok but more clove based, Bon Moissiure from Rogue and I was so hyped for that but it doesn't come close. It's nice but it's more lavender forward and deep without any freshness at all, and drakkar noir was very fresh. Even tried Al Rehab dakar which comes close but too much citrus and the added cumin/smoke kind of ruins it. THE SEARCH CONTINUES

Drakkar noir, alright, first up, this is NOT a crowd pleaser and therefore not a blind buy for today standards, very mature scent, not too serious but not fun or youthful IMO, very floral spicy opening, specially the lavender, pine and rosemary are very strong throughout it's longevity (4 hours to 4 and a half average), it's the kind of fragrance to project a little more when it becomes wet. Great fragrance for winter, fall, and spring, both day and night; the overall fragrance is very barbershop-ish, I love it so far, but for some it may be a little "dated" unlike Polo Green or Lapidus pour Homme which have more of an "Old money" kind of vibe or even Jovan Musk which has a pretty peculiar scent, which makes it still pretty popular nowadays. All in all a blind buy I don't regret.

My first love's signature scent, and I loved him madly. I was 18 & he was 28, we had our own place. Whenever I smell this, I see him coming home from his construction gig...greasy, dirty, ruggedly hot. I was always so excited when he'd come home. I'd sit on the kitchen counter while we shared a joint & he cooked us dinner and told me about his day. Afterwards he'd make love to me like a mountain man, our sweating bodies enveloped in a cloud of drakkar noir, cannabis & a strange kinda Bonnie & Clyde 'me and you against the world' love. I don't care if people associate this scent with old men or whatever. For me its haunting, loaded with bittersweet memories of my first love. There'll never be another like it (or him..).

I've been craving a proper aromatic fougere ever since I got my bottle of Roma Uomo Nero Estremo (a great modern fougere in it's own right). I thought hey, I used to wear Drakkar Noir a bit around 8 years ago, why not try a new bottle, it's insanely cheap now after all. A lot of people like to say fragrances like the D&G Light Blue line or John Varvatos Artisan pure are "Miami Vice in a bottle." No guys, DN is Miami Vice in a bottle. Chest hair, gold chains stacked everywhere poking through open buttoned shirts, "The Deele - Body Talk" blasting on the speakers, and some guy in the corner of the club smoking a wood tipped cigarette giving you just the wrong kind of side-eye. This is a classic for a reason.

A man for all seasons. It opens all pine and citrus with a touch of leather, but not at all like a cleaning product. Very much it's own thing. The fougere qualities develop as you wear it, with lavender, aromatic spices, and green freshness being pushed through the mesh of pine and the cedar that joins it, once the lemoniness wears away. There's also a funk that comes with the leather and patchouli I really, really like, once the two start to coalesce. It gives the fragrance the same quality as Kouros, but in a more subtle way. Just enough for a distinct masculinity that can't quite be identified unless your nose is right on the skin. Surprisingly sexy. There's a reason this is a perennial classic.

In my assessment, Drakkar Noir stands as a genuinely exceptional fragrance. It exudes an aromatic, mildly herbal essence with a pronounced projection, unmistakably masculine in character. Although its base may evoke a somewhat retro aura, it retains a classic quality that keeps it from feeling outdated. It's important to note that this scent has undergone a minor reformulation, yet it has retained its original essence. However, I would caution against wearing Drakkar Noir to the office, as, while it possesses versatility suitable for any time of the day, it truly shines in more open settings. My rating: Given its price point – Strongly recommended! (7/7)

Ok, I still love Drakkar Noir. It doesn't have the horsepower of the old formulations but this stuff still smells great... to me. Your mileage may vary. Certainly one of the fougere definitions of, "Barbershop" fragrance. It's spawned a million other fougeres (fauxgere??? ... did I invent a new word? I think I did, lol) that either directly try to imitate it or pay homage to it. It starts out clean, fresh and a little sweet and dries down to the most classic powdery pleasantness. It's definitely a time travel fragrance for me; it's almost comforting to wear. I hope they make it always. For the money, and it's dirt cheap, you can't beat this stuff.

This is nice. I got a 200 ml / 6.7 fl oz bottle for €22 from 2020-10. Right out of the box it smells great. It doesn't last more than three, maybe four hours, but the projection is good for the first hour or two. I spray with a heavy hand and that seems to be the right strategy with this fragrance. Also, you get away with it, because it smells fresh, aromatic and masculine. It's also dirt cheap, so why not? I love carrying the bottle around with me, something about handling it is satisfying. I'm not excluding the possibility that it will gain some potency in a few months time and I will update my review if it does. For now it's an 8/10 for me.

Classic fougere (barbershop) fragrance. Inspired COUNTLESS men's grooming products. Drakkar Noir deserves its spot on the fragrance Mount Rushmore. If you're a man it's almost a rite of passage to own a bottle of Drakkar Noir. Lemony up top, followed by warm spices and pine tree. Smells like classic shaving cream. Something about fougeres make them the perfect daily work/office fragrance. Fresh, clean, and masculine all rolled up into one. Drakkar Noir's current formulation unfortunately suffers from poor longevity and sillage. However, you can find this for DIRT cheap on discounter websites. Worth every penny. Worth the hassle to reapply.

"Look how they massacred my boy!" • This was part of my X-Mas 2025 nostalgia haul, alongside a few others. • My dad used to wear this in the 80s & 90s; I probably stole ~25% of his DN bottles, like most high schoolers! • It's clean, soapy, sharp, herbaceous, aromatic, and masculine. It still smells like my childhood, and I truly enjoy this. • The performance and projection of that iconic and classic aromatic fougère was solid, back then, but not anymore. • It now goes MIA on my skin within ~2 hours (but it makes for one hell of a kick-ass car freshener!). • TBH, it's like someone took a baseball bat to this fragrance's kneecaps...

It's a shame for those who are unable to appreciate this timeless masterpiece but well, maybe one day they'll come around to it when they get bored of all the dozens of variants of the same sugary scent being pumped out by most brands (and hyped by influencers) in recent times. This is one of those fragrances that will just always work, same with some of the scents which it surely went onto inspire (Platinum Egoiste, Acqua di Gio, l'Eau d'Issey and even Sauvage). A familiar scent no doubt but one that remains extremely easy to wear and versatile in 2025 (almost 2026!).

I wanted a fougere type of cologne so i picked this one up since it was about 30$ for 200ml. Very nice dark and mysterious bottle just like the juice itself. When i first smelled it i loves it it smelled like shaving gilette cream or hair gel in a best way possible, it is obviously very masculine and it will stand out compared to others. I mostly get lavender, piney notes and smooth oakmoss in the drydown, performance isnt the best but for the price i cant complain. Overall this was a very nice masculine, erotic and mysterious scent that quite versatile maybe not for summer so overall a 9/10

Yup! I took the plunge and have gone completely retro. I've had enough of the newer offerings and am done experimenting. I finally broke down and grabbed this favorite of mine from back in the day. I don't care if it's instantly recognizable, it does the job it is intended to do and makes you smell like a man. I picked up Santos de Cartier and Antaeus this past weekend and I'm not done. My next purchases will be big, fat, obnoxious bottles of Aramis, Kouros and Opium. Loud and proud is my motto from now on. He's back!

Thought I'd get a bottle and see if it bought back any memories, at the first spray I was instantly back in the 80s with a hair line and a waistline, splashing this on after a shave, going out, drinking snakebite for 70p a pint and trying it on with every girl that looked at me. Unfortunately just like my memories it was soon gone, great vintage scent but unfortunately you'll be lucky to get an hour out of this. But hey it'll be a great hour.

Its so good i cant stop smelling the nozzle, i dont see anything polarizing in this one. Its a crowd pleaser, manly scent for sure, but nothing insulting about it. Its probably the best fragrance i ever smelled and i smelled a lot of them. Shame longevity is so bad, even with 10 sprays it has noticeable projection (elbow length) for about 3 hours after it becomes skin scent. I keep buying only for personal enjoyment

This barber shop fougere fragrance is a true classic, but unfortunately, its scent longevity is short-lived. I wear it after shaving, utilizing both the after-shave and the eau de toilette. It effectively conveys the “I just shaved” scent. I would not recommend it as a daily fragrance due to its mild intensity and short longevity. It is a must-have for a fragrance collection if you collect the classics.

It evokes how do i describe this clean/cozy masculinity, very similar to shaving creams and a real gem to smell in todays sea of heavily sweet bubble gummy fragrances, This fragrance is sweet aswell but its blended so nicely with the woods and aromatics so its much more mature (in a put together, confident, emotionally mature kind of way). Classic for a reason!

I'll admit, I'm still fairly new to the cologne game, only being interested in the hobby for about 4 months, and only having tried about 6 colognes so far, but with that said. So far, this one is my favorite by a long shot. I love my Drakkar Noir, and any cologne that may or may not take over its ranking as my favorite definitely has some big shoes to fill

This one's not for everyone I guess, because of its old school boldness. It smells like you just showered with a gel or soap that has a strong aromatic scent. It smells clean. Perfect for those days when you just want to smell like a clean, assertive guy, no more, no less. Very versatile. Incredibly cheap. You won't get more bangs for your bucks.

Stunningly masculine, super soapy, wildly aromatic and not at all a compliment getter. I personally LOVE wearing this more than I think people around me enjoy smelling it. Makes me feel like the man though, and for that reason it’s a 10 in my eyes. I you enjoy sauvage elixir, you’d be a fool to not try this. This is where it all began.

We will be making a return to this scent profile over the next five years. The sweet/oud mess that's plaguing perfumery is on the way out. People who say its weak: spray a few times and leave it in the fridge for a few weeks. Mine lasts for 5 hours now. Also, it's nice not to have a synthetic mess clinging to your skin for 12 hours.

The current iteration of Drakkar Noir still smells really amazing, but even after a year of Maturation it still has ATROCIOUS longevity lasting maybe 2 hours tops on skin and maybe 3 on clothes. I have a few "Clones" or fragrances with clear inspiration from DN, but they're ALL missi g that gorgeous Sandlewood in the drydown!

Some may say it reminds them Gilette shaving gel scent, But that is because they are too young. Drakkar Noir was first. Before the shaving gel, before the deodorant that you find in your local shop, before all of these. It was so popular. And till today, if you smell a man wear that one, hou will feel respect. Thanks

9/10 I very rarely blind buy but I felt I had to with this. Very nice lemony, woody fougere. In the air the lavender really comes out. I don't think this is an 'old man' fragrance like some people say, I'm 19 and I have no problem wearing this. Also I paid £16 including shipping for 100ml, so basically a no brainer.

One of the greatest ever scents, 5/5 all day long! I really don't get the dated vibe in comparison to other fragrances from the 80s, it's timeless. Fresh, invigorating and somehow therapeutic. As good as Platinum Egoiste which is equally a masterpiece (this came first though and is much less costly to purchase!).

Some of the reviews here are laughable. Drakkar Noir is a stone cold classic and has been around for longer than most of these broccoli haircut snowflakes are alive. It's still produced and popular for a very good reason. Go spray your sickly sweet dessert fragrance and leave this pinnacle of masculinity alone.

Barbershop smell. Masculine, spicy, clean. Just wished they didn't reformulate it because longevity and projection is an issue here. It lasts around 3-4 hours only, with projection being within one foot. Nevertheless, I still love the smell and overspray this to make sure it stay longer on my skin

I love it, one of the most classic scents that will neve grow old. The aldehydes and lavender are wonderfully supported by the rest of the notes, and I don't even care about reformulations or this and that. It smells good and always will. It's pretty cheap too.

delightfully classic and good for layering. this was one of my first proper colognes and i will always have a bottle of it. very sharp and distinctive, a refined scent so long as you don't drown yourself in it. a real throwback scent even as a younger person

I've known it for over 30 years. Of course, we miss the splash, and it used to be a bit warmer, more distinctive. Overall, you can still recognize it; it hasn't lost its soul. My time capsule from the '80s. A great, unique, and timeless fragrance.

This really has become one of my favorites. I find it very easy to wear. Even on days I might wanna skip a fragrance, I often still wear this. It's just so masculine and fresh, but with depth. Truly a timeless classic.

the earlier ones 80s-90s were great...current version not worth...just buy a copy or inspired, like the smart collection #13 and al-rehab dakar...they're not 100% but perform better and worth the price.

It's a timeless classic. I would use the words "sophisticated" and "gentlemen" however this fragrance has been duped so many times and by so many that the word "barbershop" may be more applicable here.

I'VE FINALLY FOUND IT! I finally found the scent my dad would always wear when I was a kid. I always smelt this on him and now I've finally got it myself. This is nostalgia in a bottle.
