The Heart Notes

Lovely balanced opening! All the mélange spices come out but are very rounded and taimed by the bergamot (though not citrousy) and the rose (transformed by the spices). There is definitely a very subtle powdery quality, but only if you smell it close to skin. I don't sense the patchouli ( thank heavens!) and the sandalwood is subtly coming out in the dry down. This kind of ressembles to me a softer version of "Spice must flow" from État de L'Orange Libre. This is spices without orientalism. More of a Mediterranean feel. Definitely appropriate for all occasions. I really think it is a fully unisex fragrance.

This is very soft powdery and Woody perfume. When I first tried it in spring from the sample kit, I was not impressed by it's opening, especially the clove note comes out quite early in the fragrance's journey mixed with saffron. But, after about 30-40 mins the powdery woody note of sandalwood mixed with patchouli come out adding more complexity and depth to the fragrance . The projection is strong but weirdly starts only after the initial 30 mins. Definitely a calming and unisex scent. The performance is better , especially on an autumn day time. Smells like a mix of Oud Bouquet (or one of its million dupes) mixed with Rochas Tocade. It smells good and had I not owned the aforementioned bottles I may have been tempted to purchase this one. Strong and long lasting.

This is rather odd. I got a sample kit from this house, as I was considering stocking it before I closed my perfume business, Avé Parfum. The notes don't seem right to me at all. I smell really strong raspberry in this perfume, yet it is not mentioned in the notes. I really do not detect any saffron or spices. This perfume is sweet and woody on me, not spicy whatsoever. It smells incredibly similar in a way to their other fragrance North to Poltava. However, I did a side-by-side comparison, and they are not the same perfume, but they seem like they could be versions of one another. The Heart Notes is sweeter and doesn't have the sharp, frankincense-like note that I describe in North to Poltava. North is also a lot more powdery, whereas I hardly detect any powder in this perfume. This one also contains a bothersome synthetic amber or oud note that gives me an immediate headache. If that won't bother you, then this is still a very nice fragrance and better than half of what is on the market nowadays.
