Rare Woods Elixir

Guess I'll do the first review for this. The only thing keeping me from buying this is the price; I just can't get behind spending $250 on a fragrance, at least not at this point in my life. That being said, Rare Woods Elixir is an extraordinary composition from the house of Habibi. Perfectly unisex, the brown sugar-tea combination is comforting and heavenly. I haven't smelled anything like this on the market, so fair play to Habibi for coming out with this. If this were made by Parfums de Marly or Killian, the fragrance community would be all over this. Again, I can't get myself to buy a bottle, but if somebody has a partial or decants for sale, please let me know. 9.5/10

Karak Chai is an enriched tea with milk, spices and herbs with a special aroma and rich in healthy benefits. With Rare Woods Elixir, you can immerse yourself in this delicious cup of tea, with a realistic, spicy aroma, recalling the exact moment when you drink it from the cup. It is by no means a soft tea, but spicy and strong, masterfully recreated. On me it has an invigorating effect, at the same time I see it as something that provides extreme well-being. Opening for the first 30 seconds or so was off putting. The dry down much better. In the end, a semi-sweet woodsy and musk fragrance. I like the end result. Would love for it to project more. I like it much better on skin than I do clothing. A little pricey for what it provides.

The perfumers nailed the Spiced Chai style. Spraying this on my neck 2 pumps each side has me smelling it all evening for a gathering. 5 hours after spraying I still smell it pretty strong, even in the cold autumn evening. This is very well done, but I think it is a bit forceful to my senses. Im constantly reminded I have it on with every head turn I make. This is my first fragrance to have gourmand touches. I was hoping to smell the lactonic accord with the rest, but most dominant notes are the top notes, perhaps this is expected as an Extrait de Parfum?

I am very new to fragrance so bare with me. The opening was the best thing I have ever smelled in my life. green and spice, mystery to me. sits close to the skin and when I put my nose right up on it there it is again. The dry down after a few hours felt too sweet to me, not masculine and a little bit nauseating. After a couple of days at least on the test strip, I am still getting interesting notes from the room within a few feet and it has become a very musky rose scent that makes me think of sex.

It doesn’t project as much as I had hoped.
