Royal Saffron Oud

This is probably one of the best scents that Habibi NY has put out. It is slightly sweet and woody, with a very prominent saffron notes. Take a handful of saffron and smell it and you'll catch a whiff of that in this juice. Habibi does not skimp on quality ingredients and this one is top-notch, especially for the price. It has lasting power, creating an effervescent bubble around me for at least 6 hours and becoming a deliciously woody skin scent thereafter. The florals are prominent in the drydown, but not in-your-face. The osmanthus gives it a slight fruitiness that balances everything out. I'm not sure why the word oud is in the name, as it's not a listed ingredient, but you do catch a slight, clean agarwood in there, and it makes for a complete package of a fragrance. I wouldn't hesitate to give this one a shot. And if you've never tried Habibi before, this is a great one to start with.

Opens very amber and leather (saffron) heavy with some spice from the cardamom. Once it dries down though is when it really shined through for me. The florals come forward very heavily and becomes a beautiful semi-sweet almost fruity presence. This is probably one of my favorites from the discovery sets I purchased Im going to have a real hard time deciding which one to get a full bottle of first. Think its between this one, honeyed tobacco oud or spiced bergamot and orris.

This house is going to take my money. So good. Again read my other reviews and buy the samples...you won't regret it. Super elegant, perfectly blended floral fragrance thats rich and is not cloying whatsoever. Can be worn by men and women. Royal saffron oud Overall 8.9/10

To me, this starts out with a blast of saffron and cardamom and a bit of citrus/apricot from the osmanthus lingering in the background. After about an hour the saffron and cardamom lend support, but the geranium begins to take the center stage. The whisper of osmanthus is still there although it has faded a bit, and I get some of the musk. There is also a smoothness underneath everything, although I can't quite tell if it's from the sandalwood or amber, or perhaps a mixture of the two.

This is a great fragrance and lasts a good bit. Moderate projection. The saffron starts beautifully and the musk laden wood sits for some time. I continued to smell my wrists as I wanted to keep enjoying the journey.

Saffron is correct! This Saffron forward Oud smells very clean and seasonal for winter and fall. I like the metallic note here, it is not harsh like a strong ambroxan note. The dry down is very fresh and clean.

Very nice, but the saffron disappears very quickly on me.

Very reminiscent of Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s plain oud. Gorgeous with prominent saffron and white florals.
