Sahara Rose

What a great surprise! I ordered Habibi Desert Oud, and got this and Urban Oud samples with it. This is my favorite of the three, and I kinda wish I’d bought this instead. So to my nose, this bears some resemblance to MFK Oud Satin Mood. If you sniff the trigger, its very similar. When you first spray it on, there’s some similarities and as it progresses, I get whiffs that strongly remind me of Oud Satin Mood. However, that’s only in the scent bubble around me. If I sniff my skin, I get s lot more of the fruits (raspberry, nectarine, pineapple, and citruses), and the florals, especially geranium. And it’s pure loveliness both at close range and at a distance. The rose here is gorgeous, totally unisex, fresh, but strong, not jammy, which is a credit to the perfumer, especially with all the fruit notes. It could’ve easily become jammy and thick and heavy. It performs well, both projection and longevity are great. Could easily be worn by men, even traditionally “masculine” dudes could rock this. The drydown is really nice, though the opening and mid are outstanding for me. It's a stunner from start to finish! 10/10

Mmm, Sahara Rose is definitely my favorite from the Women's Discovery Set (from the one they sold in 2021, they may have changed some of the scents now). This is SUCH a good rose. I agree with dtwaddle, in the air it is reminiscent of MFK Oud Satin Mood and similar fragrances, but on skin it's so different. Much much fruitier, juicier, and with the signature powdery Habibi base. I can't pick out the fruits individually here, but it's this fantastic fruity blend that's sweet and mouthwatering. Pairs with the rose so well. The drydown is amazing too, the fruits become sweeter like dried fruits and the vanilla really comes through to make a sweet decadent rose perfume. I've really loved wearing my sample, I might get a bottle at some point. Lasts all day on me.

Recently tested this fragrance from my discovery set I purchased from Habibi. What a lovely scent this one delivers. It may not be for everyone, as it is much sweeter than expected, not a gourmand by any means but the Fruity notes blend in with the Saffron perfectly (in my opinion) and create a lovely fruity leathery type of vibe. Which is carried by some rather subtle flowery accords. Just applied it about a half hour ago so waiting to test longevity but this one is very tasty smelling for me. Definitely recommend at least sampling this one!

One of my early loves when I started my collection. Discontinued now but I have a large bottle and I’m willing to swap/sell some decants.

I'm not really a fan of Sahara Rose and much prefer Rose Amore. However, I suggest giving it time before writing it off. SR is a unisex scent and I can see why. You can definitely smell the Bulgarian Rose, dark musk, and oud accords especially in the opening. The sweeter notes (pineapple, berry notes, vanilla, and mandarine) balance the fragrance out so it's not too sweet or spicy. The spicy notes in the drydown-- that's where it's getting a little dicey for me. I have four other oud fragrances, one of which has the capacity to be "enormous" in its performance, especially when a heavy hand is used. But all four are beautiful from the opening to the drydown (but especially the drydown). Something in SR's drydown is not quite working for me. SR has good longevity and sillage and I like it on both skin and clothing. I don't consider this a safe blind-buy, try the small vial first, especially if you're unfamiliar with niche fragrances. Overall, I like the idea behind this fragrance but don't yet see myself purchasing a full flanker in the near future.
