Halloween Man Shot

STRANGE NAME, GOOD FRAGRANCE! A BOOZIER "LA NUIT" ALTERNATIVE This fragrance brand belongs to the "Perfumes y Diseño Group" family of brands. Other brand examples are Jesus Del Pozo, Desigual, Tous and Roberto Verino. Sometimes this perfume is sold under the Jesus Del Pozo brand. It's a nice fragrance. Its scent DNA is positioned somewhere between Valentino Uomo, Dior Homme, CH Men Privé and YSL La Nuit de l'Homme. That certainly is a very nice spot to live in 🙂! Lemon daiquiri, dark spices, vanilla, leather, iris, cardamom, and amber wood, are very well blended notes that are easy to detect. However, for me, a special "something" is missing for this perfume to stand out. I am a regular fan of Valentino and Dior Homme and I often use Dior Homme Intense, so I sense this fragrance at a significant distance from those known iris fragrances. Probably I would like this fragrance to lean more to the YSL or CH direction, or even to an independent direction with a boozier and darker twist. From the four fragrances previously mentioned, I just cannot decide if this Halloween scent is closer to any of them. Reviewers generally claim it to be closer to YSL's "La Nuit De L'Homme". I do not consider that Perfumes y Diseño ever tried to position Halloween Shot as a clone. Other "Halloween Man" perfumes (flankers?) don't have any cloning pretension. This fragrance has a certain individuality but trails a DNA path that is dominated by some heavyweight designers. Halloween Shot may stand on tricky market ground. I may buy it again when my flask finishes. I like its twist on "La Nuit De L'Homme". All in all, it is a very agreeable and elegant sweet and spicy designer scent that you can buy on a budget. I didn't get much of the cocktail element but otherwise it's a really smooth blend, so while you might think that's there's this or that note, none come across with strength. It's very pleasant, and I don't get anything I usually dislike (strong lavender, noticeable chemicals such as dihydromyrcenol, calone, iso e super, cashmeran, etc.), but it doesn't seem especially strong, at least in terms of projection. I think I prefer Magnet for Men by Eclectic Collections, which is similar but stronger, and the notes are more obvious (it's got powdery rose rather than powdery iris, and is sweeter, but not supers-sweet). At current prices I doubt you'll be disappointed if this is what you're seeking (that is, a Dior Homme type scent that doesn't have the strong lavender and is smoother/weaker/less "feminine"). My 125 ml bottle was less than $20 new, total price. UPDATE: After a couple hours the leather started to really come through and it distinguishes this scent more. It seems to get stronger over time, actually, but that just might be some of the muddle of notes at first dissipating, allowing others to "shine through." Apparently some think this smells like PdM's Layton, but I haven't tried that one. And to those who are disappointed that it doesn't smell "as good" as this or that "big name" designer scent, I think you should just stick to exactly what you want and stop trying to find a scent for a third the price that is the same. What I like about this one is that the notes are correct and the quality is at least as good as many "top designers." The problem with so many of those is that you get a "chemical" quality that just persists for hours, whereas with this scent, I don't get that kind of harshness. I may not get the depth or complexity here that I could with a vintage scent, but if I want this combination of notes I know I can reach for this one and I won't be disappointed (whereas with vintage there's often something I don't like in the composition, such as obvious lavender). Do you want harsh white musk? Look elsewhere. Do you want some sort of obvious and fake wood note? Look elsewhere. Do you want some ridiculous fruit note that seems to belong in the produce section of your supermarket? Look elsewhere. Do you want to smell like you've been on a week-long bender? Look elsewhere. Do you want so much iso e super that you smell like a natural gas plant? Look elsewhere.

Agreed! - The price to quality ratio for this scent is off the charts!!! As for this smelling like Dior Homme and Valentino Uomo, yes, kind of, but it smells equally like La Nuit de l'Homme for a part of its life. To me, this smells most similar to Armani Eau De Nuit, which is a VERY good thing, especially considering the $20 price tag! It's like Dior Homme or Valentino Uomo made a baby with YSL La Nuit De L'Homme and then drizzled it with a bit of honey. Performance for me this weekend hasn't been as good as most of the other scents mentioned, but it does squeak out the performance of the reformulated La Nuit, so that's a plus. Projection is light to moderate, but consistent. People will get a nice small whiff when passing by closely, but this will not overpower other scents. Basically, it's the perfect projection for a first date, and in that situation, I think this is absolutely a scent I'd choose! The only negative, I will say, is that this is a bit olfactory fatiguing in nature. But honestly, sometimes, (like on date nights) that's exactly what you want - a scent that will be a little bit forgotten, rather than the center of attention, when you're around it for long periods of time. I asked lots of opinions on this one while I was out this weekend, and every single person liked it. I even had to give away my travel atomizer because a friend of mine liked the scent so much. The original Halloween Man made me nauseous, but this flanker is COMPLETELY different. There's nothing annoyingly synthetic about this one. It's utterly crowd pleasing, performs decently, and it's really well priced. Two thumbs WAY up for this one! However - if you love the scent but want better projection and longevity, spend $20 extra and get Armani Eau De Nuit instead. You'll thank me.

Halloween Man Shot: A Hidden Gem SOTD: 12/14/18 It was SOTD as of 12/14/18, to my nose is a good aromatic and powdery scent, other reviews compare it to La Nuit, in which I don't have to compare, is a very surprising sweet/sexy scent my nose detect the iris, vanilla, cardamom and leather. This scent surprised me for it's value it's a hidden gem/steal. It will be in my rotation this winter 2018/2019. Highly recommended Scent: 8/10 Value: 9/10: Great Value/A True bargain Presentation/Design: 7/10 Longevity-Performance: 8.5/10: On my skin around between 8-12+ hrs (last I checked the scent was still there on my skin going on 15+ hrs) *varies on skin chemistry* Overall: 8.25/10 My SOTD (Scent of the Day): Halloween Shot Man EDT: As of 03/09/19 My 2nd wearing of this fragrance, and how I love the scent due to my nose still detects that vanilla and iris with lemon daiquiri, cardamom and pepper which is unique to my nose. Other people compare this fragrance to La Nuit, Valentino Uomo Intense. I don't own YSL La Nuit but I do own Valentino Uomo Intense and I do get both share the vanilla and iris but Halloween Shot Man is not even close to VUI. To me is similar on the opening to F by Ferragamo Black due to the pepper. Overall is still the same is 8.25 out of 10 and the longevity/performance is 8 out of 10, 9-11 sprays: Lasted on my skin as a skin scent around 8-10+ hrs. Still a hidden gem and a superb scent don't sleep on this fragrance is a worthy must get and a good addition to any collection.

Halloween Man Shot is a nice scent for fall that will not break the bank. It is similar to Valentino Uomo Intense but it is done in a different way. If you are not a fan of iris scents, this might be the DHI clone you want. Iris is not there to me. Instead I get a citrus cleaner heavy open from the lemon and daiquiri notes. Then after wearing it today especially, I noticed a kind of mint juelp accord in mid which I loved. I'm guessing that is from the sage. Now I will say it isn't on the minty side, but it smelt like mint juelp. Following that you get a vanilla heavy base that lasts and lasts. This surprisingly is more of a fall day scent than a night scent to me. Yes, it will work in Winter and Spring as well. Yes, it is good for night dates but honestly it is a good workday scent. My now ex-girlfriend smelt this on me for the first time two days ago and instantly thought it was a Fall scent without me saying it was. Performance is pretty good. It don't project like say Valentino Uomo, Uomo Intense, Mugler Amen, Ferragamo Uomo or others can, but it is a solid one. This is why I say it is more of a daytime scent. I do also find it can last 8-10 hours as a skin scent, but it will easily become a victim of olfactory fatigue as it goes on. Overall, Halloween Man Shot is pretty good. It is in no way up there like Valentino Uomo Intense but it is a good cheaper alternative with a different open. I think it is fine with the demphasized iris note. I rate it an even 8.0 out of 10.

Very well done, very similar to YSL LNDL but with a touch of vanilla, Iris and soft leather. LNDL mixed with eau electrique. This is not as well rounded as LNDL but has a lot of things going for it for a cheapy! Its creamy semi sweet cardamom and vanilla and touches of leather with a little Iris sprinkled over it. Usually not an Iris lover but it’s not over stated here. The daiquiri note is a short lived token in the opening and gone after it dries. Shot lasts over 6 hours and projects more than La Nuit. YSL does last longer but doesn’t project as well. This scent profile is designed to be intimate in general. After spending a couple months with this I have to applaud this fragrance for being the best cold weather under the radar scent I have found to date. (Now a toss up with Cremo Black vanilla) Still have my La Nuit and have tested wrist to wrist a few times and they are very similar but Shot is a touch more floral but undeniably similar everywhere else. Can’t believe more people are not excited about this. It has booted a few better known fragrances out of my collection since this gets all my time now. Truly is a better fragrance than many more well known designers for pennies instead of dollars. The more I wear the more I love it. Wife really likes it as well. My favorite from the Halloween Man line and then some. Blind bought a 1.7 oz bottle for 17 dollars. Now have a 4.2 bottle for $27. GREAT VALUE!!!! Perhaps best cheapy ever! 8.5/10 overall

This fragrance IMO...it's like CH Men Prive By Carolina Herrera & La Nuit de l`Homme By Yves Saint Laurent...had a love child that, no one knew about(Just walking around out in the world). And grew up with his older adoptive brother Valentino Uomo Intense By Valentino. It smells great and it's under $20 to boot. It's a sweet, boozy, leather jacket smelling fragrance. This is something you can buy and not worry about having a regret about. If you like YSL La Nuit & CH Men Prive...Layer those together and on your clothes or skin. If you like that, you'll love this point blank. I see this being a cheap and easy grab for date night. Movies, walk in the park or the beach...with someone special. Lovely fragrance that will draw attention to you. Now i want a long island ice tea, i just keep sniffing my wrist. I used five sprays...both wrist, back & front of my neck, chest. Will I buy this again?...Yes. I was testing Halloween shot female version which by the way I liked very much and added it to my wishlist immediately,that I saw it's male version I usually don't test male fragrances in my normal perfume-trying days but it's expensive looking bottle made me want to try it I'm terrible at describing colognes but I'll try my best Female version is a combination of sweet caramelized vanilla,boozy fruity notes and a touch of powder.this one is exactly it's masculine the other half I don't know what daiquiri is but Halloween man shot opens fizzy,boozy fresh citrusy and spicy.something like peppery lemon flavored alcoholic beverage.citrusy freshness calms down while spices remain quite strong and blend with something that I interpret as vanilla and iris.it becomes warmer,less sweet,darker and softer in drydown This masculine scent is sexy and elegant at the same time.it smells expensive and inviting and I liked it so much that I added it's name in my notebook near it's female version so that I'd remember to buy it for my man as a fall fragrance Eye catching bottle,great scent,reasonable price and impressive projection are all factors I want in a fragrance and Halloween shot,both man and woman versions hit the point

La Nuit and The One's younger brother. HM Shot is in the same ballpark as the two mentioned but it has enough of it's own character to not be (too) redundant. That ballpark means it's a slightly spicy date night frag, but the dry down is where they all show their distinct character. For Halloween Man it goes more powdery which makes it fresher, a little less mature and not as dark as the other two. It kind of reminds me of baby powder (which isn't a criticism). Being cheaper it has a slightly sharper opening but it is by no means harsh or cheap smelling. HM Shot is really a nice casual and inoffensive cool weather scent that performs reasonably well (lasts a solid 4-6 hrs). It's inviting without being cloying or choking anyone out. Leans more masculine and on the younger side but middle age can easily pull it off. Great dumb reach for cooler months. A really great cheap fragrance. Smells like if Bvlgari Man in Black was reduced to a eau de toilette concentrate and instead of the spicy tobacco and dark rum taking center stage you replaced them with a boozy sweet lemon and cardamom then smoothed it out with a powdery iris. So a sweeter, powdery and boozy lemon cousin of Bvlgari Man in Black one could say. The opening almost has a sweet floral vibe which is the lemon daiqari, iris and sage mixing giving that effect, which gives it a classy gentleman vibe, the dry down I smell the cardamom, powdery iris, bit of pepper, amber and a hint of the boozy lemon from the opening. The longevity is about 6 hours, projects well for the first 2 hours. HMS reacts really well with hydrated skin and a bit of vasoline on the spots you are going to spray which improves its performance noticeably. Works brilliant in autum, winter and even early spring (reduce sprays accordingly) especially works well for hangouts at your local coffee shop, date nights and even weddings. For its price point 9/10, just don't sissy spray!

Bought this after years of hearing rave reviews on YouTube. I already have Man X which I really love and that one performs to a very high standard, so I had high expectations for Man Shot. Finally I got round to buying this, First impressions are that I'm very underwhelmed. I can only assume they have reformulated it because I'm getting 2 hours tops from this. After 30 mins it's like a fart in the wind. Almost undetectable. The scent itself is very nice, I pick up the Iris immediately. Which I'm a fan of, cardamom is there for sure. I'm not getting Daiquiri although I do definitely get a generic boozy vibe from it. It's really nice. I just can't forgive the poor performance though, I only buy fragrances that have reputations for performing above average. I don't see the point in making a fragrance if it doesn't perform well, and the greed these company's show by reformulating and watering down former powerhouses. It's so disappointing. Show a bit of pride in your craft and don't penny pinch.

Smells like LNDL mixed with one of the Code flankers. Also similar to Givenchy Gentlemen Boisee. Cocktail note is alittle harsh at first but doesn't stay around long. After it starts to dry it smooths out to a soft iris, leather, powdery vanilla and sweet cardamom scent that punches way above its weight class scent wise. Performance is not great but neither is LNDL. Easily fixed by spraying more of it. The iris is more like a Prada iris and not a Dior makeup iris mixed with the cardamom it gives an upscale feeling and would never make anyone think you’re wearing cheap cologne. Shot has shot a number of better known fragrances right out of my collection not just because it’s cheap but because it’s better and cheaper. Only lasts about 5-6 hours before skin scent but who cares that’s plenty good enough for a date or dinner then drinks afterwards and I think that’s its best purpose. 8/10 for me. A complete steal if you like LNDL, D&G the One or Code flankers

Don't sleep on this one. Very much akin to La Nuit, this is a dark, sweet, boozy fragrance that is right along the lines of what you'd call "sexy", and has excellent performance. The iris gives it a bit of a powdery feel, and is nothing like the lipsticky iris of the Dior Homme line, while cardamom and vanilla give it a certain sensuality. The lemon daiquiri accord, however, is a bit screechy and synthetic, at least for the first few minutes, but later on it has the effect of lifting the fragrance up out of a sweet powdery purgatory and giving it its own identity. I've also found that the longer I've had the bottle, the less synthetic and astringent, and the more creamy and smooth it's become. Compliment factor is very high with this one; women and men both love it. There might be better options for a night out fragrance, but for $20 for a 125ml, it's a good pickup. By far one of the best cheapies I have. 8/10

[batch M20907... not recognized] If you exclude its alcoholic opening (where I can smell nothing for around 5 minutes) then beautiful Iris, rich vanilla, spicy pepper and cardamom... I own none of the perfumes it is supposed to smell similar to, so the scent is rather unique for me... Very versatile, I could wear this all year round. Performance is unfortunately well below average like all perfumes currently out there (or most of them)... I just have to overspray. "good if you have $25 to waste" is what another reviewer said ... I spent £30 and I do not feel I wasted anything!!! My review summary is just 2 words... Intoxicatingly sexy!!!!!! Something to warm you up in really cold weather, cardamom and iris with a hint of vanilla and leather. Blind bought this and first tried it one evening inside and it was fine, nothing too special but still good. 15 minutes later i went out when it was almost -20 degrees celsius and the smell just exploded to my nose and i couldn't stop sniffing it. Really good for cold winter evenings, first thing that came to my mind while i smelled this outside at that time was "this is how the good smelling guy at a party smells like when he goes out to cool down or for a cigarette". Ok, the longevity is not anything to write home about but it's still decent. Is it anything groundbreaking, maybe not. Is it a good fragrance for cold evenings for the price when it only costs 30 euros for 125ml, definitely a big YES!

Halloween Man Shot Interesting concept here. I purchased this blind based upon a recommendation from a fellow frag enthusiast. The notes I'm getting are daiquiri, vanilla, iris, pepper, lemon and... cardamom. It's a masculine scent probably aimed at younger men. But, I'm 51, and I can pull this off. I've been wearing it now for several months, and it's one of my favorites. Versatile for both day and night, work and play. There are better choices for high heat, so this is best in Fall, Winter, and most of Spring. It smells far more expensive than the measly amount I paid. As with many cheaper scents, longevity and sillage are not great. But this one of those scents you don't have to worry about filling a room. When you want just the right person to notice. Highest recommendation.

D&G The One for Men. Halloween Man Shot is another excellent creation by Halloween. This is a warm, spicy cardamom, with soft and mildly-sweet leather, and amber-like amberwood. Warm, soft, spicy, ambery, with a slight non-cloying sweetness. There a barely noticeable citrusy zest in the background that exist only to keep it lively without projecting on its own. It's smells very similar to D&G The One. Four reviews below support this at the time of posting this review. It is mainly The One's sweet ambery scent with YSL La Nuit de L'Homme's powdery cardamom/lavender combo. An excellent fragrance! With that price tag this is a must try. You might buy it on the spot. A cool weather, romantic wear. This is another "Love" for a Halloween creation from me. Such an underrated house.

Smells so similiar to DG The One edp. Which means its great Similar projection issues. Id say this one pushes out longer/stronger Doesnt do too bad with longevity but still a soft scent along with its projection. More of a skin scent after the 2-3 hour mark. Longevity about 5-6 hours. I have to say it lasts a bit longer than DG. And for the projection issues this is a way cheaper bottle so smash that sprayer and itll do a bit better. Scent 8.9/10! Longevity 7.5/10 Projection 7.5/10 Update: This is so similar to DG THE ONE This one actually projects and lasts ON ME. Tested it over course of a month. I keep coming back to it thinking no way itll be good for how much.. *spray* *spray* mmmm a very very solid 8.5/10

Never really been much of a fragrance guy, my first cologne being a gift, but this made me turn around. This is the third cologne I've worn and wow, third time really is the charm. This scent is so good, the smell is very pleasing, not knowing much about scent notes, the best way I can describe this one is a sweet vanilla and cinnamon smell. Exactly what I was hoping for. I was looking for something warm, spicy, & sensual for the cooler months since all my past scents have been fresh and sporty. As stated in the headline, the sillage isn't strong and won't leave a trail but it does last for hours and isn't overpowering. Undoubtedly intimate, your partner will be able to smell it being close and personal.
