Blue Fire

A strawberry, fruity leather with the juniper and pepper dancing around the edges. This is going to sound weird, but to my nose, it smells like someone who is wearing a lavender based fougere type fragrance under their clothes and has come in from smoking a cigarette outside in the cold in their leather jacket and they tried to cover it up with a strawberry breath mint. In the best way possible. No smoke or tobacco, just that olfactory trigger. I love it. I get a Roja Elysium vibe in the opening that fades into a tingly, almost effervescent leather after about an hour.

smoke in the top, floral, sweet; so unique; leather, cardamon, musk and a very sweet note that isn't quite tart enough to feel like strawberry; this is like a spicy leather syrup; loving it; in the end, the sweetness tones down and it's a pure leather fragrance. I sort of wish it maintained its smoky and sweet aspects that made it so different; there's still a sweet edge in the base and it all blends but this is a leather fragrance

Happyland Fragrances Studio Blue Fire is an exuberant fizzy gin strawberry semi-spicy concoction. It’s effervescent, fun, a good mix of lightness and some heft, not too sweet for the sweet haters and not too obtrusive for those looking for something sweet and fresh, probably among the very freshest entries in the house to date, along with Barbershop and Green Irish Tobacco, and surely one worth of trying, like everything I’ve tried from the house to date. Uniqueness-wise, Blue Fire doesn’t really remind me of anything, even though there are scores of fragrances that approximate the smells of alcoholic beverages, so I do still wonder what the inspiration is behind it, so props to E.J. wells for his creativity! Priced at the standard $50 for 50ml / $35 for 30ml, Blue Fire is a good value, even if not quite as exception for some of the beastly juices in the Happyland catalogue that I prefer. 7 out of 10

Fresh leather coated with a very tart, if not somewhat synthetic, blue raspberry-ish glaze. The soft, gentle suede effervesces with powdery iris, fizzy gin bubbles, and piquant pink pepper. A bright and playful fruity leather scent. Moderately strong projection fades over ~3hr, longevity 8-10hr. The seemingly intentional syntheticness and soft, sparkling suede immediately brings to mind MAB Ganymede. Similar in concept, anyway, though the scent is its own. Sadly, it's the only "vaulted" Happyland fragrance.

This is a soft like. Kind of a strange fragrance. A few internet blogs say this is fresh but I don't get that.

This is basically Memo's Irish Leather + a "strawberry" note. Yet, the fruity note smells more like a sweet jolly rancher than a real fresh strawberry, which actually makes the fragrance very reminiscent of Hindu Kush: sweet fruits on top of herbal greens. Blue Fire also has less earthiness (maybe less leather/patchouli/birch than Memo?), which again makes it into a lighter, sweet and fruity fragrance like Hindu Kush. In all honesty, I don't like this one much. But I also don't like Hindu Kush, so consider trying this if that's your cup of tea. If you love Irish Leather, like me, this might be disappointing.

Avocado sushi and cucumber. With seeds. Black seeds, specifically. Evolves into an inharmonious, aquatic, synthetically sweet, leathery iris blend. Fruity, floral underpinning. Not bad, if you enjoy 40 Knots.

See now this makes me wonder. E.J. Wells is a regular guy who is active on a few Facebook groups but can come up with such a fragrance. I'm sure he is on a limited budget but dammit this one here smells like nothing else on the market. The fizzy and fruity opening dries down to an herbal type of leather. Strange as all hell but is 100% wearable and enjoyable. Longevity is around 8 hours with good sillage and projection as well. The midwest is on the map big time with him being from Ohio and Josh Meyer of Kerosene being from Detroit. Hopefully my city will have someone soon!

Nope!!! I enjoy a number of Happyland’s fragrances...but not this one. This seems to try and play off of Memo’s Irish Leather, but fails horribly. It is trying desperately to be something different, with the addition of strawberry and iris, but none of it works well together. I guess it was meant to be a fresh leather DNA, but it misses the mark. Longevity is above average, projection is average. As always, this is just my opinion. Grab a sample and discover it for yourself. As for me, I can not recommend.

Happyland are anything but ordinary. this one really confused me as I was expecting blue but they hit you with leather hard. Lots of things going on here. Im glad as I was thinking another Blue de Chanel would be boring, but not this. Another masterpiece from Happyland. These annihilate any designer frag in this price range. Hands down my favorite perfumer right now.

Another happyland win.. sweet with ambroxan tones mixed in through strawberry and tea, but not aquatic.. seems more mass appealing to me than most of the others but in a wonderful way.
