Happyland Signature

I'll go out on a limb and say EJ Wells' Happyland fragrances deserve much more praise in the community than they're given. A superb value and there is definitely something for everyone in his line. I've been wearing this one quite a bit lately. I digress. Bottles, nothing fancy at all but the atomizers are fantastic. Not Dior level pressurized numbers but solid. Onto the scent. Signature opens pretty sweet, with the honey and blueberry dominating. Cinnamon giving it a touch of a spicy edge. The tobacco is also quite noticeable from initial spray and an extremely soft oud note (this is never a huge part of the composition to my nose). I don't particularly get the cashmeran or anise but there is this subtle boozy quality to the scent, or possibly just a vibe that those particular notes give off. I'm not sure. Someone voted for 18.21 Man Made Tobacco as a similar scent, I would agree. Though, that particular scent has the port wine note to give it it's boozy nature. This does not. Onto the drydown, ambery vanilla tobacco. It's as cozy as you could possibly want. There's also a somewhat gourmand quality to the scent but it's not foodie. Really nice stuff. I don't particularly care about compliments (they're nice, I won't lie) but this one does it. Women and men alike react positively. However, this is a sleeper. I can't smell it after a certain amount of time but you can get carried away with the sprays. A full 13 hours later, a family member commented on how strong it was. Overbearingly strong and yes, I likely oversprayed as I am known to do. I won't make that mistake again. This person commented on the scent positively, just that I went a little too far (which, to the fragrances' credit, wasn't really that much). So, my recommendation would be to go easy. Obviously, performance is absolutely fantastic. I could really see this on anyone but the 30+ crowd may appreciate it more. Any season except the dead heat. With the right application, I could see it in any situation except maybe the gym. This stuff is killer! Moving up my list fast, may make it to the favorites shelf.

This Is The One! The one that introduced me to Happyland Studio Fragrances. The beginning of this journey into the unknown world that creator E.J. Wells has Magically formed and placed inside inconspicuous glass bottles with an amazing atomizer, insane longevity, and projection out of this universe! Signature is not your typical rack store designer name Signature labeled bottle placed in the store just to make some money off of a big name or fancy brand. Signature is the real deal Jack! Tobacco, honey, fruits, resins with an almost gourmand type vibe. A modern man's fragrance that fits any cold or cool weather application that it may be needed for, worthy of a Signature scent while standing apart from the crowd. Dressed up, dressed down, day, night and everywhere in between! Just maybe not on a 100 degree day, lol. The sprayer is top notch just like the Juice quality, I get 12 hours plus on 4 sprays, seriously! No need to carry a decant or reapply. You know you smell good and others will to when you wear Happyland Signature. Do yourself a favor, go to Happyland Studios website and at least get a few samples, especially Signature. Happyland Studio Fragrances Happyland Signature is the first fragrance I tried from this Ohio-based house on the rise, and such an easy winner for me. It’s a sweet, indulgent gourmand / tobacco scent flavored by blueberries and apple pie, mostly sweet, not too spicy but still with some of the inherent spice of the tobacco. Despite involving tobacco, it’s delicious, the most gourmand-leaning “sweet tobacco” fragrance that I know, more so than Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille, Mugler A*Men Pure Havane, By Kilian Back to Black, to name a few. It’s a tremendous nod to gourmand lovers and sweet tobacco lovers alike, and I’m keen on both categories of fragrances. Happyland Signature’s performance is great, and makes its pricing all the more reasonable. All of the perfumes appear to priced exactly the same way: $50 for 50ml and $35 for 30ml. The 50ml size is especially affordable when considering discounts, but I prefer the smaller and more travel-friendly 30ml size, myself. I’m delighted to have just ordered this and a few other scents from the line, and will probably secure a backup bottle at some point in the future. 8 out of 10

Very pleasant tobacco/honey/cinnamon DNA. The cinnamon and honey are prominent at first spray. Immediately thought of Oajan or Naxos..not the same, but same vibe and genre. Very pleasant. As it dries down, tobacco quickly came forth to give it depth and complexity. Longevity is above average as is the projection. My wife smelled it from the other room when I first sprayed it. It is linear for the most part...meaning what you get in first 5/10 minutes is what you will get for duration. This is not a bad thing...being that it is very pleasant upon application. Is it worth it? For uniqueness, not so much. There are a number of fragrances that are in same vein that might do it better. For the price...I would say definitely YES. Although some might do it better, it’s hard to beat the value here. Pleasant fragrance, above average performance, for a below average price. Overall assessment, for the value...I have no problem recommending this. Get a sample and try it out first, but a sample probably will lead to a full bottle.

Thanks to Happyland Studio and their easy to navigate website I was able to secure a sample of this. Wearing it today for the first time and initial thoughts are that it is great. Cinnamon, Honey, Tobacco plain and simple. It got noticed when I arrived at work and the feedback was positive. I cannot comment on longevity yet, since I am only an hour or so into wearing this, but I will update later. Is this as smooth as Naxos? No, but it is also significantly less money. This is slightly rougher, the tobacco seems skankier to me, but not necessarily in a bad way. So far this is pretty close to 1981 X by Alexandria Fragrances as a solid choice if you are looking for Naxos, but do not want to shell out Xerjoff prices. I know that 1981 X lasts forever, so hoping this lasts a long time too. UPDATE: Now almost 11 hrs later and while I do not think it is still projecting, I am still smelling it both on my myself and my clothing. So longevity seems to be great! 8.4/10 - great cool/cold weather scent.

Gorgeous fragrance from E.J.. unique and long lasting.. if you're not into unique fragrances you won't like many from happyland . Idk why none of his new ones are on here yet.. fafa is incredible and shadowland is so different with a very odd opening that settles down to a beautiful clean scent.. I will say in the beginning of my collecting I liked this site but after learning and understanding how many snobs are on here reviewing I never go by these reviews. Reviews for happyland are spot on though because these are people that like the smaller indie houses. Just a tip don't go by reviews on the bigger brands on here.. go to fb and ask the community for help. Anyways just wanted to ramble for a bit lol My favorite happyland frags in order 1 paisley 2 amberland 3 el goodo 4 signature 5 green irish tobacco (no it's not a clone, he was inspired) 6 fafa 7 shadowland (it's new so could move up, it really is a fabulous scent) I've tried a few more and love them as well..

Spiced honey tobacco with a faint warm apple pie undertone. Our apple pie here is speckled with just a scant few blueberries and spiced with a healthy dose of cinnamon, but it's the gooey honey and sweet pipe tobacco at the forefront. An amber-vanilla base binds everything together in perfect harmony. Moderately strong projection for 4-5hr, longevity 8-10hr. Somewhere between TF Tobacco Vanille and Hermes Ambre Narguile. I wish the blueberry note was more prominent to really set it apart but this is still a warm, comforting, delicious gourmand that is truly Happyland's signature scent. Signature Gold, not listed on Fragrantica, basically takes the original and lightens it up with a medley of dried fruits and fresh herbs. They serve to tone down some of the spices and gooey deliciousness, to the detriment of the scent profile IMO. Stick with regular Signature.

This is a beautifully crafted fragrance! I am not sure why I waited so long to buy it - I love several fragrances from the company (notably Plum Loco, Cuir Cafe, and Green Irish Tobacco). This is great for anyone who loves honey and tobacco with a hint of fruit. It was bothering me what it reminded me of, and then it hit me - it smells more like Alexandria Fragrances 1981X than that fragrance does of Naxos. Nevertheless, I know I can trust Happyland Studios fragrances to be of high quality and long lasting so I am looking forward to wearing this one regularly. Originally, I said it didn’t smell like Oajan because I accidentally grabbed Hamdani and smelled it because the bottles are identical. After grabbing Oajan, it is very similar.

I see the trolls are in full effect. Listen, I've called out fragrances that have been substandard, and have not reviewed fragrances I didn't like. If you enjoy the tobacco in Herod, and the honey in Oajan, you will love this one. If you enjoy 18.21's creation of vanilla and tobacco, you will enjoy this one. I'm allergic to tonka as it gives me headaches, so I much prefer this over 18.21. Most people will not be able to distinguish between the two. The tonka is very mild in Signature, and the main players are the tobacco and honey with the apple and blueberry pie sticking their heads through in the mid. Think what you want, but you're missing out. This is a pure parfum, so longevity will be 10 plus hours.

Sure, it's honeyed tobacco, and a very pleasant sweet/spicy scent at a great price, with excellent longevity and sillage. I'm a fan of the Happyland brand. But let's get something straight, this is NOT a substitute for Herod (Parfums de Marly), which is amazing and, unfortuately, crazy expensive. For now, I'm sticking with Tobacco Reserve by Aramis, which is a warm, creamy, smooth delight at a reasonable price. UPDATE: Rested this for a week, went back, and, surprise, I really like this scent! Warm, rich, and a little spicy. Still not a sub for Herod, but a very strong standout nevertheless. It's good buy, and I'm going to order a big bottle!

Just got this frag today and a little leak happened which usually happens as I live in Colorado Springs and the altitude always add pressure so a little tiny bit leaked out and I could smell this amazing tobacco scent when I opened the mail box! This is some super potent stuff. Needless to say Happy land signature is an amazing scent and I’m super happy to have blind bought this. If you like tobacco fragrances as I do, you will not be disappointed with this one. Easy blind by for a tobacco frag head. Bravo to this studio!

Honeyed tobacco on a bed of warm cinnamon and spicy amber. Creamy vanilla, a touch of tart blueberry, and slightly smoky oud. This fragrance is perfect for fall and winter. It smells like those seasons should. It has a warm and inviting quality to it. I get around 9-10 hours with this one with 2 hours of decent projection. This fragrance wows me every time I smell it. It's my second favorite from Happyland, after Homme for the Holidays(Which sadly isn't on Fragrantica at the time of this review).

My 2nd favorite so far right after Plum Loco. I'm shocked that nobody has mentioned the middle eastern vibe that this also delivers. In the same vein as 24 Gold and Raghba but not as potent as though which makes this much more wearable. The oud and musk is turned down a few notches while the spicy and sweet notes shine. Longevity and sillage is superb and I will continue support this small indie house from the Midwest!

Stunning, powerful, long lasting, compliment getting, monster projecting, gourmand-ish, sexy juice!! EJ makes WONDERFUL fragrances at Happyland. This one just happens to hit different. Home-run hitter. Prices are GREAT, too! Will always be in my top 10 frags I'll keep for life.

A hands f@cking down MASTERPIECE. I shrine with candles wouldn't do this juice the justice it deserves. Outstanding performance too. If someone doesn't like this scent, they probly don't like pie,,cookies or chocolate either and that's there problem, not yours.

100 percent unisex fragrance. Reminds me of pdm oajan/Alexandria apple crumb with a touch of blueberry. I feel this could be worn anytime! Super Versatile. It’s so nice and projects! Good value as well!

Does anyone else got PDM Oajan? I think this is right in line with it and I say that as a very good thing. Excellent scentwith excellent projection and longevity! EJ is a top notch entrepreneur!

I love Happyland Signature in the winter. I don't get blueberry- mostly apple, honey, cinnamon and tobacco. Like a really delicious apple cobbler. Honestly, for the price- it is fantastic.

This is an extremely good fragrance but has been done many times. Just to similar to other honey scents. Great longevity.

Sweet honey + blueberry piped tobacco. Blended VERY SMOOTH!

Received this as a bonus sample from an eBay purchase, so glad I got my nose on this. I have not smelled the other fragrances other reviewers are referring to, but I do know one thing: this is an amazing blend. Beautiful and warm apple pie, blueberry, honey, and tobacco scent. It turns a tobacco-honey fragrance into a gourmand and I am not mad about it. The performance of this is unmatched. I easily get 12+ hours out of it and can still smell it after a shower. The projection is about an arm's length, but the trail it leaves behind you is alluring to the say the least. This has piqued my interest in the house and I need to try EJ's other offerings. Well done on this one. Overall: 10/10 EDIT: I have tried many tobacco honey-based fragrances (Naxxos, Red Tobacco, Insurrection Wild II, etc.) and it doesn't get better than this to me. I have 5 HL bottles now, this being my favorite of the group and probably top 3 favorite all-time fragrances. Just an amazing blend that never ceases to make me smile, love this stuff!!

This sits next to PDM Oajan and Josier Ambre Tabac. Great value for the money spent. If you like Oajan, this is easily going to be a yes for you. Leans masculine to me. I often wear it in the evening just sitting at home and basking in the smell without spending a lot of money on quality fragrance. Worth it!

Nice scent, well composed. On my skin it doesn’t project as well or as long as other Happyland fragrances. The scent does last long, but is close to skin after a couple hours. Glad I got it as a sample. Not sure if I will be getting a full bottle.

tobacco, leather, honey, boozy, tonka then massive amber in the base

Just received my bottle of HLSig today after reading all these reviews about this being a Tobacco Honey sweet fragrance. Below @Ramseyyoung119 says it’s a “tuned up version of Oajan” and a “REPLACEMENT for Oajan”.......WHAT?! I’m not sure what he’s smoking but HLSig is NOT a tuned up Oajan, and in no way replaces it. I’m thinking this guy is just happy about the $55 Pricetag. It just smells cheap and Tacky. If you spray it on your clothes it will still be there after it is washed.

I am an Ohioan like EJ so I had a strong curiosity about his fragrances. I have sampled the entire line and Signature is one of the 8 or 9 I deemed full bottle worthy. I think it is great. It seemed so original, I had never smelled anything quite like it: sweet tobacco, amber, slightly floral, oud, and a definite honey accord. I had no idea what to compare it to until I got Tobacco Oud from Montale. There is a strong similarity except Signature is a little sweeter and the Montale does not have the honey and the oud is a bit stronger. All in all, Happyland Signature is a fantastic scent from a one man shop. It compares favorably with a similar scent from a French niche house, and it came first. Interesting!

Signature is a very classy, Gourmand fragrance that is blended very well. The tobacco-honey notes are prominent. I get the wood note in it, but it is noticeable “up close” only. The amber is complimentary as are the other notes but they are in there.It takes a while for the vanilla to show up. In line with most of the Happyland offering, this a sweet frag well-suited for cooler seasons or evening wear. I think if you are new to Happyland, this is a great “blind buy” because it gives the newbie a point of reference on this line and a good example of what E.J. Wells brings to the table. I love this scent. Such a nice spicy tobacco based scent that drys down into a lightly Woody, lightly vanillic, lightly fruity scent along with a more toned down version of the tobacco from the opening and mid. Projects for a solid 6 hours on me, then rests closer to the body and can remain a skin scent for 10+ hours. The development of this fragrance seems to happen slowly, with the opening hanging around for 30min-1hr, the mid for 2-4 hours more, and then the dry down for the rest of the time. Also, incredible value for what you get. A wonderful tobacco scent with an extrait de parfum concentration for less than a dollar per ml.

Happyland Signature is a well-balanced beast, reminiscent of a Blueberry Pie pipe tobacco. Its performance is truly eternal. When I first obtained this fragrance, I wasn't sure if it would be a compliment-puller. However, it has consistently proven otherwise, even pulling compliments from a lady in a store who was standing 3 feet away. The scent was from my hoodie, which I had worn the previous day and hadn't applied any other fragrance to for this errand. I give it a 10 out of 10. It's an absolute masterpiece!

After blind buying Cuir Cafe-- which turned out to be FANTASTIC- I've blind bought this one. I'm so excited! Signature is a thick gooey tobacco fragrance that is 75% tobacco. Then I get honey and cinnamon, with just a pinch/hint of apple pie. It's still got that fantastic Happyland longevity/potency/sillage, but Cuir Cafe remains my favorite.

I get spicebomb extreme with a musk background. Really super easy to wear. The musk is not detectable until dry down then I kept thinking it was a perfume I previously sprayed but it's definitely the signature. Very good quality and multi dimensional/interesting fragrance for the money.

My second favorite from the house behind Rhyolite. They smell similar, but Rhyolite projects harder, it is a room filling nuclear beast. Signature is more of an arms length kind of projection that last on skin for a solid 8 or 9 hours.

Too much tobacco for me would be great on a man! This is a delicious pipe tobacco! I do see the similarities to Oajan except I find that one more wearable and feminine at least to my nose.

Forever Neil you are a paid spokesman for Happyland. This is my second favorite from the line. This line has very few good ones but this one stands out. Worth the buy.

Tuned up version of PDM Oajan and PDM Herod. Monster Longevity. Price to quality is unmatched here.
