Harajuku Lovers G

I miss her. This takes me back to when I used to work at a CVS, and we had a perfume cabinet with the whole line of Harajuku lovers + testers. Every time I was facing shelves or restocking and went by it, I had to have a spritz. I started working there in the summer when I was 16, Gwen Stefani was on the radio too many times a day, I literally lived on the beach/coast, so coconuty sunscreen was already a staple scent in the air (except nobody was intentionally trying to smell like Banana Boat) - there's a lot of memory and nostalgia wrapped up in this bottle. I recently caved and got one of the tester bottles sold on ebay. Smells EXACTLY as I remember it, but on the dry-down only. On initial spray, there's a weird metallic-mineraly note that lingers for about 10-15 minutes that I don't recall existing back then, but when it's gone, it's just this soft, creamy, floral coconut that's left, and that's the magic I'm chasing. I have to give it a REALLY heavy spray for it to last. Doesn't project too much and doesn't last too long. 3-4 hours and that's about it. I recall from years ago it being a bit more potent and longer lasting than this, HOWEVER.....It's possible being an ebay purchase of a d/cd fragrance that what I got was dilute or just plain stale. I don't really mind - I knew the risks going into it, and to be honest? I'd do it again. It's an excellent summer scent. It's the one you want to put on after a day at the beach. You've come home, you've washed the sand and the sun off your skin, you're wearing something light and breezy and on your way out to dinner or maybe the bar for some drinks - THIS is the scent to carry that coconut beach vibe out of the sun and into the evening. It's just so light, so fresh, so sweet. I'd love it if one of the currently popular dupe houses (Dua, Alexandra, Oakcha, etc.) would pick this up and try to clone it. It really was/is something special (at least to me).

For a long time I have searched for a tropical fragrance that stays tropical from beginning to end without becoming a sneeze festival or disappearing into thin air - or, becoming suntan lotion. This is sunshine in a bottle...a tropical breeze across the most exotic of beaches. This is an expensive beach where all the girls are perfectly tan and wearing the perfect bathing suit. No person on this beach is uncomfortable in their own skin. Everyone is on holiday. The scent opens with pineapple/coconut milk and blends into the sandalwood seamlessly. This scent is tropical done classy! It is what I wanted in every tropical fragrance I have every tried - not one plastic note to be found and I get glimpses of the scent wafting up towards my nose all throughout the day even if I do not reapply. For an EDT that is quite impressive. I love this. I hope they will make it for a long, long time. Let's not forget how cute the bottle is - even at my age I love the doll cap!

I've been lusting after this one for years, and now finally its mine! Take me away, a sweet escape.... G transports me to a beautiful sunny beach, where I am sipping a Pina Colada underneath an umbrella. Sweet memories of Sanibel Island with my sister come to me as I take in the aroma's of milky coconut and apple. I am wearing heart shaped sunglasses and have red manicured toenails. This is just so delectable, the perfect summer treat. Need I even mention the adorable Alice in Wonderland bottle, which actually looks kind of like a mini me in a perfume bottle? So sad its been discontinued, I was very lucky to get it along with Love and Lil Angel as a set on ebay for a bargain, as it can be sadly quite hard to find and expensive these days. It's just so dreamy and uplifts my spirits. Finally summer has arrived, but even in the cooler months I have G for that perfect spritz of paradise :D

I fell hard for this one, and knew it was being discontinued and stocked up. If you store them properly they will last. Just use them in the summer! I hate when you love something they go ahead and dumb it down. Rich coconut and buttery. Really great! I also have the dark haired one, which I love that one also. The other's didn't work on me. I could hardly pull this fragrance up on Fragrantica, probably because it's discontinued? I guess re-inventing and re-inventing is the way to make big $$$. But Chanel No. 5 has been around forever and some other lines too. I guess when a celebrity has their name attached to it, it's a hit for only so long. Unless of course, your name is Elizabeth Taylor! Although, I'll admit I don't have any of her's. But my God, what a beautiful woman!

Deceptively complex! I went through multiple bottles of this in the 00s and always got tons of compliments. It's warm, sweet, and comforting, and will get you noticed without being too over the top or loud. The coconut is more gourmand than tropical to me, and it settles into something more like a light coconut cupcake musk. Decent projection and longevity, too. I kept my last empty for a while just so I could sniff it. It was that perfect to me. I recently received a sample of Nest's Sunkissed Hibiscus in a Sephora order and it smells almost exactly like G. If you loved G, give it a shot!

I enjoy this scent it is great for summertime day or night the longevity for me isn't that great though you need to re-apply I also get pineapple with the coconut for some reason might be the apple mixing with the manderine orange, but it is a divine scent if you like coconut. for me I love coconut so is right down my alley. It is a tropical scent and in the dye down its a scrummy cotton and coconut explosion with a peek of sandle wood. Is definitely a sexy scent and something to have in your purse in the summer at the bar or on holiday! Lovely and a must have for coconut lovers : )

Creamy, tropical and fruity! Delicious scent and I am so sad Gwen discontinued this line. The coconut is there but not in your face. It reminds me of a creamy vanilla coconut popsicle scented candle at a surf shot. Super pleasant! But not too loud. I dont really smell apple, but there is a tart & sweet juiciness that I think comes from the Apple. The cotton and florals are super subtle and elevate the fragrance from being too sweet or tropical by giving it a clean / fresh undertone. I do not have anything that smells similar to Harajuku Lovers G. Cherish my bottle.

G is my favorite scent in the Harajuku Lovers line of fragrances. It's definitely a light, summery perfume that smells exactly like a pina colada on me. I get all pineapple, which is likely the combination of coconut and apple. G is a perfume that I'd wear if I was going to the beach or laying around in the sun -- not really something I'd wear to work or going out. It also doesn't last very long on my skin. This is a perfume that I would probably purchase again if I found it on sale at Marshalls or TJ Maxx -- not a must have but definitely a nice one to have around

I love this scent! it has to be one of my all time favorites; it's sweet, creamy, and rich, but not sickening or overpowering when you smell it in the air or from the bottle. However, on my skin I get more of the fruity notes like the apple, mandarin, and coconut, which gives this gourmand a hint of juiciness and freshness. It's incredibly long lasting! I wore it out recently, and it lasted the entire days worth 7+ hours and when I was ready for bed that night I could still smell the fragrance. An absolute work of art fragrance; bottle, scent, and longevity!

Nice little perfume, even for already fully grown girls, like myself. First of all, the coconut here is very realistic and dominating only at the start, not infused by vanilla, you do not feel like sticky insect, lost in tropical island, but feel like you came out of shower, applied some light coconut mousse on skin and sprayed something with magnolia and apple on your summer-dress. Although I never smelled real cotton flower, the nose gets this note as something really breezy and fluffy, like freshly laundered and dried on sunshine sheets. Cute.

I blind buy this because the sales man recommended this to me, i am instantly in love with the tropical vibes it gives me, the coconut is stand out almost like Pinacolada less pineaple, or like Malibu drink. The vanilla is not overpowering, its more powdery and soft.. i buy Harajuku lover G pop electric and Harajuku Lovers but the scent is different, others are too gourmand and sweet for me, but Harajuku Lovers G is just perfect. It is hard to find it now on store, too bad.. it was my signature scent for 2 bottles and my friends is copying me

Just got my second mini bottle of G and I still love this sent! If you love coconut, then this is perfect for you. Definitely a fun summer sent. It's very tropical and sweet but doesn't linger very long and the sent is not strong at all. But just like my last review, I noticed (with the mini's at least) the bottles tend to peel and look extremely worn over time. I think that would be the only downfall i see with this fragrance line. As long as the bottles are taken care of, there should be no problem and it's an amazing collectors piece.

G is my favourite out of the 'Harajuku Lovers' line. It's my favourite kind of sweetness; it's not too sweet. It's a nice come-closer mix and it doesn't turn sickly on me. I can't seperate any of the floral scent notes; this is a strictly fruity affair. On me it's a mix of madarin, apple and something that smells like pineapple, on a creamy coconut base. It's sort of like I've spilled a Pina Colada on myself. I love wearing G in hotter weather, as it's a light and uncomplicated fragrance, so doesn't set off my migraines.

LOVE LOVE LOVE love this! This is such a beautiful fragrance, very heavy in creamy coconut! Smells so summery and soft with just the right amount musk to go with it! Words can not describe how much I'm falling for this fragrance! My friend gave me a half full tester but. Thinking of buying the Pop Electric version for a back up as I dont know how long they will be out! I need this fragrance in a full bottle! Truly beautiful and can not wait to get my hands on it. One of the best celebrity scents by far

I really like G, it smells like a trip to the beach and scented suntan lotion. The note that stands out the most to me in this perfume is the coconut. This scent is fantastic for summer and I have gotten quite a few compliments on it. The bottle is absolutley adorable, and when you finish the perfume, you can display the doll on a shelf somewhere. This smells great mixed with Lil' Angel or Baby. I highly reccomend this for anyone who wants to smell like they just came from the beach.

Oh my gosh, this is my favorite scent ever! I keep two bottles on hand (a big one for home and a little one for travels) just incase I run out of one. The coconut is the first thing I notice when I put it on, but it fades into this amazing summery scent. It reminds me of the sweet smells of summer and fruity suntan lotion (I mean that in a more amazing way then it sounds). Really, it's just a great perfume. And the bottle is so friggen cute as well! How could you go wrong?!

When i was little i always listened to Gwen, and when i finally got the scent i've been dying for, it did not dissapoint! I mean if u don't like coconut, don't get it.. But it just takes me to the beach and just makes me so happy whenever I smell it.. I also smell the apple, but eveything just mixes together so nicely. It's smells like soft and creamy, but like kinda out there. I have a few of her other scents, but I'll always love my G becasue she's so unique.

I've been wearing and re-purchasing this for about 4 years now...I just can't shake it! I've tried finding another perfume I enjoy as much but this has become ME, I suppose. I smell the coconut from beginning to end, but it starts off as a bright/fruity sort of coconut, then ends as a warm, sweet coconut. This lasts all day on me, and smells lovely on my clothes. I have a feeling they've discontinued this original one though, I haven't seen it for a while :(

The original G was the perfume that got me hooked on fragrances! Its a sweet mix of coconut and I would say vanilla if I didn't know better, very warm and tropical. The subtle mandarin makes this coconut scent smell fresh and natural. I really don't detect any of the florals. G pulled this one off stunningly without the coconut manifesting artificially. I stocked up when I realized G had been revamped...I hope they don't turn!!

Oh “G” my first real perfume <3 I was in middle and was a big fan of Gwen and her “Harajuku Girls” at the time. When I saw this, I begged my mother to buy it for me! And I loved it. This to me just smells of delicious coconut. Not a sunscreen coconut, but more of a yummy coconut drink you’d have at summer by the pool. The only downside was that this yummy fragrance never lasted as long as you’d want it to.

i asked this girl what perfume she was wearing that day because i absolutely loved it . She directed me to this one and now its definitely one of my favourites. It smells predominantly of coconut and it really nice to wear on a nice summers or spring day, or even if you want to bring a little summer into the colder months. I would recommend this to anyone who loves the smell of coconut and the tropics.

This doesnt smell like the bath and body works coconut and lime I had both and they dont smell anything alike to me. This smells like straight coconut. I think it smells like tanning lotion exactly, and they dont make 1.7 oz of these pefumes the biggest sizes they come in are 1 oz anyone think and agree with me that they should make bigger bottles of this scent??? I would totally buy it more than

I miss this terribly. A perfect straight up coconut, tropical and dry without any vanilla (at least to my nose). Yes synthetic but in the best way possible. Cannot find anything similar, but I'm hoping coconut by library of fragrance will satisfy my craving somewhat for this nostalgic scent that felt happy, carefree, and it was very distinctive, so much so I remember it's scent 10 ish years on.

It's a beautiful fun coconut scent. I don't really smell the apple, it mostly maintains it's coconut structure, however I love the interesting base. It's a beautiful clean, cotton, 'skin scent' when it dries down. A lot of coconut scents turn 'syrupy' at the end of the day but because of the clean cotton and apple, it maintains a clean smell. Pretty and innocent. Great for summer!

in 2009 my aunt Linda got this and it would sit on her lingerie chest. I used to spray it on me when she wasn't around. Very sentimental to me, reminds me of the best parts of my childhood and honestly my life. My boyfriend surprised me with a bottle of it for Christmas last year and its honestly the best gift ive ever been given. Means so much to me.

I had this back when I was in high school and I loved it...I didn't actually know what it was called for a long time, as it was a gift. I called it "coconut prostitute" because the juice smelled like coconuts, and the doll....well...you get the picture...but I still thought it was cute and adored it and then one day I lost it :( It's a very sad story.

Bravo to Miss Stefani!!! This creamy concoction is truly a tasty fantasy!! Its like Ive been transported to paradise!! The coconut is devine!! I know there are alot of coconut scents in the stores but this one is my absolute favorite!! The only thing is that it only comes in a 1oz. I need more!! I'll have to find a big tester online somewhere. : )

I adored this sent when it first came out! It has such a sweet scent but the coconut notes really stand out. I think the cotton blossom is not immediately detected, at least not to me but it helps keep the sent more grounded and not over the top sweet. My only grip really is that it did not last as long on me. Great for a summer day!

Not much to say here...G is my favorite from the Harajuku Lovers series. G smells like tropical coconut drink, it starts a little fruity and then turns into a warm vanilla/coconut fragrance. I must say that when I spray this on my skin I detect some weird plastic scent. its perfect for the summer, its not too strong and very 'cosy'

To me, the smell of this perfume is not one of those aggressive ones. Instead, it is very soft and warm, which is why I like to spray it on my blanket and pillow at night. It really helps me sleep. But this perfume is definitely my favorite out of all the Harajuku Lovers fragrances. Did I mention the bottle is super cute as well?

Wow! Just got this and put it on, lots of coconut that quickly dissipates to watermelon and cucumber, with a hint of floral. The coconut is an underlying scent - it really smells just like holidays and the beach! Very refreshing. Definitely something I would keep in my bag to spritz on while I'm walking around on my travels.

At first, this scent was really weird-smelling to me. But after a while of wearing it, I like it a lot more. I love the smell of coconut, and at first it smelt like a bit too much of it just because not a lot of scents have powerful coconut top notes, but now I just think it's amazing smelling!

G is this: me drunk on some tropical beach while cabana boys fan my body with enormous palm fronds and smother me with coconut scented suntan lotion. sipping my syrupy pina colada, i peer from under my enormous sun hat and purrrr.... "gracccciassss... mucho mucho *hic* graccciasss." yeah.

I used to wear this for work, and constantly got complimented on it (Waitressing, and then store work). While yes, its very strong with the coconut, its sweet, light and feminine, very young, and definitely summery. Very pretty. Nothing groundbreaking, but certainly incredibly pleasant

I absolutely loved this scent as a teenager, I recently bought Alien Goddess and (to my memory) it's a dead ringer. I haven't smelled it in a good 10 years, but smelling Alien Goddess took me back in time to wearing this in high school. Worth a try if you can't find this

My dad gave this to me as a birthday present when I was about 10ish. Unfortunately, it only lasts for a few sprays, and the perfume has turned yellowish from age, but surprisingly it still smells good and the dolly cap is really cute. I loved this perfume <33 🩵🍎🌟

1st the bottle is cute and the smell is nice too..i really love it!! smell like chocolate milk according to my 5 years old sister.. for me it smell like sweet, creamy coconut..yummy..its remind me of ralph lauren hot, but this one more creamy =)

I recently wore this on a date with one of the sexiest guys I've ever known. He caught a whiff of me and said.. "It smells like an angel farted." We went to a Bush concert the next evening and I wore it again. I am SO buying a bigger bottle :)

LOVE LOVE LOVE this !!! The coconut scent is just the right amount, not too overpowing or sweet and such a gorgeous erfume bottle too. Price is amazing and the perfume is perfect for everyday use. 10/10 certainly recommended !! =D

Wow! This perfume is amazing. It reminds me Britney's Fantasy. It is very sweet and yummy. I'd even say it's gourmand. The bottle is amazing too. I bought i unsniffd for the bottle only. But it turned out to be very good perfume.

I recently picked up Frosted Coconut Snowball from B&BW and was sent into a blast from the past, because it smells just like Harajuku Lovers G by Harajuku Lovers and I love it since I only have a few spritzes left of G!

This is such a fun summery type perfume! It reminds me of the beaches of Hawaii and of cool sea breezes. I love the coconut in it and the overall bottle is cute. This is so girly and makes me feel younger/

I love this fragrance! I am always on the lookout for a new tropical fragrance and for me, this is one of the best. I keep it in my purse for a pick-me-up in the middle of a long work day.

Coconut is not so tropical in here because of magnolia and clean cotton. But perfume is creamy and maybe similar to EL Bronze Goddess ( both have magnolia ), yet much lighter.

i love this. my best friend has it i use it all the time! it has a great coconut smell!! sadly hers is broken so i'm gonna have to get it for my self! :)

I used to loooove this one and went through 2 bottles. Have been searching for a substitute ever since it was discontinued. Lovely coconuty fragrance.

I do love coconut scents very much, but on me the floral notes do stand out quite a bit as well. It's nicely balanced on me and not too syrupy.

My daughter wears this and loves it! It is coco nutty and sheer enough for a 13 yr old. It's also elegant enough for grown ups lol.

My all time favorite fragrance! I get endless compliments every time I wear this. The coconut notes are so sugary and soft.

I totally miss having this fragrance. First chance I get I'm buying the whole collection & all the other G fragrances!!
