Harajuku Lovers Pop Electric G

Wow! This is beautiful!! A spiced, vanilla-coconut aroma! What gives it the "spiced" accord has to be the "woody notes" which almost smells like sandalwood more specifically. Nevertheless...this is beautiful! I'm debating on whether this is just a very sweet perfume...or a gourmand. But it doesn't really matter. If you like sweet...you'll like this. And if you like coconut...you'll like this. We've all smelled so many perfumes that coconut is listed as a note and we just CANNOT detect it. This one has the coconut very front & center and it's gorgeous. Spicy, milky, sweet coconut! On another note...for those of you who have smelled the Victoria's Secret Very Sexy 2014 edition (in the white bottle)...this smells VERY similar to that one! And at a cheaper price since that one is limited edition and already several years old. I'm honestly surprised this one doesn't have more of a following. It's beautiful! And performance is nothing to complain about either. Scent Itself - 9/10 Longevity - About 5 hours. Projection - For the first two hours...projects 3 feet or so. Tapers in closer for another couple hours. Overall Score - Easily a 9/10. Side Note : This one is a compliment getter!! So be prepared for that. I'm not joking. I get complimented on this one at least once or twice everyday that I wear it. Two thumbs up to Gwen and the perfumer!

WOW oh wow. This smells like a creamy coconut with sugar. Someone said coconut frosting and that’s exactly it. Like a warm, yummy coconut cupcake with coconut frosting on top. I do get a SLIGHT piña colada from this, there is something very slightly fruity to this. This is just the best coconut cheapie around, and smells like summery, beachy hair. Edit: came back to add after wearing this ALL day yesterday that this lasts. ALL DAY. This is strong, I sprayed around 4 sprays (3 today because I didn’t realize how potent this would be) and I smelled it on me the entire day, 7am-7pm. I don’t know if other people could smell it as I got no comments, but I do like closer to skin scents anyway. Every time I got a whiff of this, I thought of freshly coconut scented shampooed hair, laying on a cabana by the pool with a cheap piña colada in your hands. This $20 or so cheapie is really phenomenal, don’t let the price or celebrity branding deter you from trying it if you enjoy coconut, sweet, or fruity scents.

Looking at the tacky bottle and the price I thought the coconut in this would smell cloying, sharp and artificial like many coconut scented shampoos and body lotions sold in Kmarts and the like. But I was SO wrong. Pop Electric G is a very well made coconut scent. I have to agree with the reviewer below me that the coconut here smells real, and yummy. It smells like a creamy vanilla-coconut milk shake with EXTRA whipped cream. Delicious! But it's not all that simple, there's some depth to it from the woodsy notes and some freshness from the florals. It's such an easy-going scent, and easy to appreciate by everyone. This could be suitable for coconut lovers any age for all casual occasions. If you love coconut scent, this is probably one of the best on the market, not to mention very affordable! Sillage is massive on me but it only stays for about 2 hours, after that it becomes a skin scent. It's very linear but in the dry down it becomes less sweet and more creamy. Yum!!

I am a coconut fanatic and was looking for something that smelled like a straight-up Pina Colada. Even though this perfume does not actually have a pineapple note, you'd swear that it does. The whipped cream note blends effortlessly with the coconut, giving the overall impression of something sweet, creamy and coconutty. That sweetness is all that is needed to mimic a sweet, juicy pineapple. When I first sprayed this on, I could detect some very light, non-descript florals but I'm not getting any of the woodiness or the musk. The Pina Colada vibe that I was chasing, is in this scent and I find it so comforting and satisfying. My other coconut fragrances have more of a "dry" coconut feel to them. I was really craving that fluffy juiciness that this one has. I love it and it's easily my favourite scent from the Harajuku Lovers line.

I'm very happy with this scent. I immediately get creamy coconut (as in coconut creme filling) with a soft woody background. It's a soft skin scent with no sharpness. It's definitely more gourmand and not beachy, sandy, salty, or sunscreen-like. I don't really smell flowers, nor do I consider it "mature." The drydown has creamy coconut whispers and a clean white musk. Think of the clean white musk drydown of Love Spell. I can see why that aspect is considered "sexy." I can imagine this perfume being good for day, night, or any time of year. 2 sprays inside my elbow lasted about 6 hours. I resprayed because I wanted more :) I might buy another bottle... Edit: Having this, I feel less sad about Escada Born in Paradise being discontinued. I think that says a lot!

It used to be my signature scent when I was 21,22 something. I remember it has a mesmerizing coconut/juicy pineapple note (although it was not listed in the note but I swear it had that impression) and I would wear it day and night I must have gone through a few bottles that's how much I loved it. I haven't worn the scent for years and I was feeling nostagia so I went online looking for it but realized it has been discontinued. I was lucky to still buy some bottles online, when I got the perfume I tried it immediately -- ah that coconut smell is nostalgia! But the pineapple scent is not as fresh as I remembered, and it is quite subtle. It is still a love for me, but I need to find a fresh juicy pineapple scent to layer it with

Creamy coconut shampoo or sunscreen scent. In the best way. This is my favorite coconut perfume so far! Perfume snobs might stop at the bottle and miss out on this gem. Easy crowd pleasing sweet summer coconut cream. The quality is impressive! It’s still in the fruity floral category...and just makes me smile when I breathe it in. It’s an easy reach summer signature. I love to layer it with coconut lotion for enhancement. Lasting power is pretty good, after 4 hours it dried down to a warm vanilla musk skin scent that is lovely, then continued as a skin scent for a few more hours.

Finally a creamy coconut frag that doesn't make me feel ill. This is a lovely perfume that I can wear not just in summer (which by the way its perfect for) , but pretty much all year. I find the florals aren't too overpowering and the woods and musk help to give it a nice balance and depth. Lasts a good 6 to 7 hours, and I've had quite a few compliments on it , so the silage is pretty good on my skin. Thank you to my hubby who smelt it and loved it ,so he decided to surprise me with it .Ya did good hun! LOL :D

I blind bought this perfume like two weeks ago just because I love the Harajuku Lovers line. I am a little disappointed with how faint it smells and with how it barely lasts. But it smells really sweet on skin! Mine came with a lotion that smells like burnt plastic so I’m skipping that. The perfume reminds me of a lip balm I had growing up that had like goofy, mickey mouse, and donald duck and it had like a milk and cookies scent to it. It smells identical to it but with coconut.

Coconut and whipped cream or coconut whipped cream. Very creamy and yummy and not too sweet. Gourmand. I don't detect floral notes myself. $15 for a 1.7 oz is totally worth it. Check Marshall's, got mine at Nordstrom Rack. Nice by itself or layered. I accidentally sprayed Jennifer Aniston Beachscape over this and discovered that the combination smells pretty much identical to Sarah Jessica Parker SJP which I had tested on another spot. This reminds me of a recent trip I took to Hawaii so much! I’m picking up some sweet pineapple with the coconut and that’s what did it there’s fresh local juicy delicious pineapple everywhere and this just reminds me of everything combined about that trip I think lol Anyway I picked this up randomly at Marshall’s and will grab a bottle every time I see it now! I even sent one to my sister that went on the trip with me!

For $6.99 at TJ Maxx it’s a win. I’d say it’s very coconut heavy and sweet, and the sweetness makes the “floral notes” come across as super fruity even like pineapple. Smells like a beachfront tiki bar in the middle of summer tourist season. This is all fruity cocktails and suntan lotion. I’d say this is completely unisex fruity coconut, not floral or cream like.

I find this scent, to be similar to the original but better! You can really smell the coconut & the whipped cream. If you like coconut scents then this is a must try! The bottle looks super cute on my vanity as well. Defiantly prefer this one, to the original, the scent has improved & evolved. I can't wait to try the other scents now!

Just got this today as a blind buy for $19.99 this smells very nice and sweet I can get the coconut as I was it smells so nice with the whipped cream. I find you could wear this anyday but I would put this way for spring and now we are already in winter. Good perfume 8 out of 10 for me

this is my favourite perfume EVER!!! I randomly came across it when shopping with a friend in my teen years and just fell in loveeee. Hate how hard it is to come across, I know Arianas Cloud is very similar but it's just not the same! The whipped cream just smells so good <3

this smells like a pina coloda in a perfume!!! i saw this for cheap in the department store and I absolutely love it. i wish I got a bigger size. it smells like smooth pina coloda. i just wish the sillage was better but I can't beat it for the price I got for it.

I'm personally IN LOVE with this scent. As a boricua it's so perfect for me! It smells just like a Pina colada or a coconut cream pie! It's so delicious and dries down into a soft powdery scent. It's not sharp, doesn't burn the nose, just soft and sweet.

Super kawai ! The bottle is adorable and so is the scent. I love this coconut, it's not a strong ou super sweet coconut but an elegant one with the cotton woods and the florals. I am very happy to see that G is back, it was my signature scent :)

Best of the pop electric bunch, though Angel and baby are close. This is sweet, creamy and cozy. Longevity isn’t the best - I’d say lovers and Baby have the best longevity of this line. But this is the coziest and easiest blind buy. Love it!

The most realistic coconut I have in my collection and it doesn't make me feel queasy like most coconuts do. I love this scent and the price is amazing.

My favorite coconut perfume of all time!

I was gifted this by a friend, after mentioning to her that I had the original perfumes~ This is perfectly sweet and creamy pina colada when I first spray it! Whipped cream and coconut really come through, and I get hints of pineapple despite it not being a listed note? It makes me almost remember the original G, but its been so long I wish I could compare the two properly! Its not too similar to sunscreen to my nose, which is the biggest factor in whether or not I like a coconut scent.. This stays gourmand! Its good for spring and summer days! It leans a little youthful, but not so much that I can't enjoy it ^^/ Its beachy and fun, and flirty without being too forward about it~ For me, its closer to Angel Iced Star than Alien Goddess! But Pop Electric G is creamier and a little less screechy at the start.. I think its a hit for me! I only wish that the pineapple lasted longer, and that the bottle was less kitschy ^^; I might swap it into a different bottle eventually!

To me this smells of fresh cracked young coconut mixed with the sticky sweet juice of a ripe mango. Wow this scent is amazing! I purchased a bottle of g pop electric a few weeks ago off eBay and tried it as soon as I got it. The scent was nice but it faded quickly and didn’t have much impact in the cold crisp weather. It’s starting to get warmer outside and this fragrance is really starting to shine. G pop electric has the most authentic coconut scent I have ever smelled in a perfume. There is nothing synthetic about this perfume. Everything smells so fresh and real. Not sure where the mango note is coming from but I definitely smell it. I can’t wait to wear this during the summer especially on a warm night on Miami Beach.

Harajuku Lovers Pop Electric G smells like whipped cream in a green coconut, with the barest touch of flowers sitting beside it. With my set there was also a body lotion which came off as smelling creamier than the spray but only slightly. HLPEG is a light, inoffensive scent fine for the office, beach, shopping, or a date. It doesn't thrill, yet it doesn't chill. I'd recommend it for any age as it luckily isn't overly sweet, either. In summary, I wouldn't have paid full price for this---I got a great deal on it at a Beall's Outlet and bought it because of the reviews here. 6.5/10

I used to have the original “G” way back in the day and remember really liking it, so I had to try this. The opening smells like Suave coconut shampoo- not creamy, but a very watery coconut and a touch of sweet, fresh apple. It takes a while for the whipped cream to become noticeable, which adds a very nice fluffy sweetness to that coconut. There’s honestly not much else going on beyond that. This smells inexpensive (and it is priced fairly!) but I think it’d be nice for layering in the summer. Not bad, not great, just something nice to wear poolside on a hot day.

Bath and Body Work's Coco Paradise in a different bottle. I find them near indistinguishable. Got them both around the same time, and they even macerated into the same fragrances over time. Went from being a smooth, mellow, buttery sunscreen-esque coconut scent to being much sweeter and flattening out after about a year. Same goes for B&BW's Coco Paradise. Might just be my nose though, it could be different for you <3

This was a blind buy bc I couldn't resist the cute bottle for $8 at tj maxx. Smells how it's described so don't expect a surprise if you blind buy! Pleasant but not very exciting to me. I was worried the coconut would make it smell too much like sunscreen or a cheap body spray, but it's not that bad. Not overly sweet and syrupy like coconut scents can smell to me. Inoffensive, sits pretty close to the skin.

Fairly simple, creamy, sweet coconut smell. It's not overpowering or cloyingly sweet, just a little hint of something cute. Nothing sharp about it at all, and I second the reviews that say it's good for layering. It's very much a "what you see is what you get" kinda deal when you look at the notes, it's probably exactly as you'd imagine it to smell just from that. I enjoy it!

This is very coconutty, but also very sweet. It’s not a plain coconut, SJP NYC pure Crush fits that bill for me. This is more of a creamy coconut, but richer and sweeter than coconut milk, so maybe like a sugared coconut cream, or coconut flavoured frosting/icing cream. It’s lovely. Layer this with the Lil Angel pop electric, and you do actually get a pina colada!

Pina colada! A really yummy gourmand that's heaviest on the coconut and whipped cream. There's the tiniest bit of a sunscreen vibe at the base. G is a light, summery fragrance that will need frequent spritzes to maintain throughout the day. I found mine for cheap at TJ Maxx. It's worth a try; the bottle makes a cute display piece even if you don't like the scent!

Big coconut fan and I find myself reaching for this over a lot of my higher end coconut fragrances. Sugary sweet milky Pina colada and sunscreen. Its simple and completely inoffensive. Wear this a lot when I work from home in the winter and want to feel pretty and summery. Got this on discount at TJ Maxx and it will definitely be missed when it runs out.

This pop electric version of G is very creamy, with a lovely coconut scent. Definitely one of my favorites I have ever purchased. The bottle is beyond cute! A mini Gwen Stefani! LOVE. I do wish it lasted longer and was a bit stronger (only criticism). Harajuku Fans - go pick up this set at HSN (less than $50 for all 5 pop electric girls)!!!

This smells similar to the original, but better. This perfume is sultry, and has that whipped cream smell which is great. The coconut, and whipped cream, make this like creme brule which is great. I think you could wear this in the fall, day, or night. I can also smell the floral notes. Overall I give this perfume a 8/10.

Got my bottle today and sprayed once on the wrist. A pleasant coconut smell that is just perfect for a tropical vacation or whenever you want to smell like the most cozy coconut lol My husband liked it too. I asked him to guess the price, he said it must cost 50$ he's eyes got big when I told him I bought it for $16 lol

I really really LOVE this scent, I only wish it lasted longer. It's a refreshing coconut scent that is perfect for spring and summer, my only complaint is that it only lasts about an hour on the skin/clothes. Because of the performance I probably will not re-purchase.

I bought this for less than $5 so I couldn’t pass it up. Does start out as sweet Pina colada. Longevity is not great but for the price I could over spray. I’m decluttering this as I have many other coconut smellies I like better. Not bad but forgettable.

Pina Colada on first spray! When settled it's a musky, creamy coconut and reminds me of hot beach holidays. I definitely feel this is a summer perfume, I tried it in winter and really liked it but I think I'd love it in summer.

I got this since it was cheap and I was longing for the og G. This is about 10% og G but masked in the worst cheapest headache inducing coconut! Id pass even for 5$.

A great piña colada scent — but the pineapple is a little bit sharp on the nose. Since it isn’t as creamy, it makes for a great summer scent!

Yummy, cozy, like a coconut cream pie. Very youthful. A lovely creamy and sweet comfort coconut scent for a very inexpensive price.

The coconut is juicy and syrupy. I get a mild, watery, sweet pineapple, as well. Unfortunately, I don’t get much from the whipped cream. My biggest hangup is the (maddeningly unspecific) “floral notes.” I think I’m getting frangipani and/or tiare, neither of which are favorites of mine. Regardless, the scent is a powdery, creamy floral that’s oddly sour. The coconut does an okay job at balancing that out, but it’s still too forward on these florals for my preference. I may try to mix this with something sweeter to make it more enjoyable. An undeniable summer wear that borders on being a beach/vacation wear only. I wore this on a mild, partly cloudy day in my (definitely not coastal) city, and it felt out of place. (I’d probably feel that way about most of my coconut frags, though, so that pretty much boils down to personal preference.) Bottom line: if you like coconut and powdery, tropical florals, you’ll enjoy this.

I can't really tell if I like this fragrance or not. It gives me alcoholic coconut vibes which puts me off a bit. It smells exactly like a malibu rum cocktail to me, it might be very appealing to some people! but i can't really imagine wearing this often unless I am at some beach party

Smells like whiskey puke upon spraying for me. Once dried down, my skin does a wonderful job of pulling the floral and the whipped cream notes, but not as much coconut as I'd like. I still enjoy it! Just wish it didn't smell like that in the beginning... bleh

This brought me back to the original G from my teenage days! Absolutely love it! Doesn’t feel too young since the coconut has a very realistic vibe to it. Fun! Will use it up and most likely wont buy again but definitely worth the very affordable $15.

Lil Angel (the teal bottle) is the best 'pop electric' and this one the worst. The ONLY reason i'm keeping this perfume is because I love the bottle and I now have the whole collection. The smell is a bit odd. Reminds me of 'wicked style G'

Theres none of those fruity notes in this which makes it heavy and not at refreshing or beautiful as the original. Its more musky and just doesnt smell very good to me. Only bought to add to my collection of harajuku G perfume

This is very cheap coconut smelling, it also burns my skin. I don’t know if I received a bad batch or it’s just expired as it’s an old discontinued fragrance but beware.
