Devil's Intrigue

Devil’s Intrigue by Haute Fragrance Company has been highly anticipated for me and after finally sampling it I completely fell in love. From the first spray it feels smooth seductive and confident with a refined sweetness that immediately pulls you in. The composition blends creamy florals warm spices and soft musks in a way that feels sensual yet polished. As it develops the scent becomes more intimate and addictive with a subtle warmth that sits close to the skin but still leaves an impression. After spending time with the sample it quickly became clear that this is more than just a like. Devil’s Intrigue is absolutely full bottle worthy and a fragrance I can easily see becoming a staple in my collection.

I was a little apprehensive about this one because it has tea listed as a note, and while I'm not fond of that note, I can handle it in certain compositions. Well, this is quite nice! I actually don't get any tea, but I do get the osmanthus and sandalwood, making it a warm and cozy scent. I get a slight sweetness, but it's not gourmand, just enough to balance it out. It seems to be very well blended and oozing with coziness! I'm really quite pleased with all of HFC's offerings, and I can tell this will be a new fave. Perfect for fall, winter, and early spring temps.

One of my favorites. Sandalwood, osmanthus dominates quite strongly. A very feminine, warm and sexy fragrance. However, the price is really too high because the longevity is not that good compared to other designers' perfumes. The sillage on skin is moderate - quite weak. However, the smell remains on clothes for a very long time.

Devil's Intrigue is actually angelic. It's a sweet, woody, vanilla rice powder with a faint tea scent. Very feminine and pretty. The only downside is it's light so you have to respray a couple times throughout the day.

warm, milky, vanilla aroma. Very pleasant, not very loud. But the price is too high.

I had wanted to get acquainted with this perfume for a long time - for several years - but never had the opportunity. Two days ago I had a dream (I’ll keep it short so I don’t tire this review with someone else’s dreams). In the dream I caught the trail of scent from a stranger and asked what she was wearing. She took an atomizer out of her bag and said, “Here it is, try it.” I sprayed it on myself and clearly remember the feeling - I wanted to straighten my shoulders; I felt languid, feminine, with a sense of hidden sensuality and confidence. I remember the impression of the fragrance very vividly, even though I had never tried it before (and I have a large olfactory library). In the dream, I was walking down the street and a man stopped me to compliment my perfume. That’s where the dream ended. When I woke up, I kept wondering what fragrance it could be. And yesterday, I happened to find a bottle of Devil’s Intrigue by Haute Fragrance Company HFC. That day I had tested many fragrances in the store, but when I opened the cap of Devil’s Intrigue and inhaled... I knew - this was it. The very scent from my dream. Yes, I bought it immediately. I had actually imagined it completely differently - I thought it would be similar to Bad Girl Gone Bad by Tom Ford: I expected a tobacco nuance (from osmanthus) and no sweetness. I’m so happy that Devil’s Intrigue is now part of my collection. For me, it doesn’t break down into individual notes, and I love fragrances like that - when you perceive them as a whole. It’s slightly sweet, sometimes cool, powdery, alluring, sensual and languid, yet it never crosses into vulgarity. And it has a beautiful trail, which is very important to me.

DI is subtle and stealthy! It's not weak or fleeting. The opening is fresh. The heart gentle and warm. The base is a pure warm, rich, slightly sweet stealth cloud! I sprayed this on a test strip, before bed one night. I couldn't quite make out the notes, at first. I tucked the strip into the edge of a book on my bedside table, sprayed end poking out towards me. I awoke to a pleasingly rich, warm, smooth and gentle woody aroma. DI gently radiates at least arm's length. It had lasted over 8 hours on this strip. Every time the AC kicks on, it wafts.

Nice refined woods with flowers and vanilla cashmere, it reminds me of an elegant confident woman. Well blended, inoffensive, noninvasive and high quality. It is definitely feminine, but a man wearing it would not be a curveball for me, since it is a fantastic fragrance. I would recommend it, but do sample it, as the price is quite high for some.

Sandalwood and vanilla are present but quite subtle. As it settles cashmeran and woody notes start to emerge. It smells like a less sugary pastry more like the dough of a Berliner or even a croissant.

Two male friends told me I smell like their nana's even thought I kinda like the smell, but it's way too overpriced, better will take something from Initio

Slightly green and fresh from the tea, but also sweet powder and vanilla at the same time. I'm getting a lot of osmanthus and in every form of it, which is a note I've never really been able to love, not now, not before. The scent isn't bad but something makes it feel generic, could be the overdone sweetness of the orange blossom, or that green-powdery thing I mentioned. Well blended, nice longevity and pleasant projection (not too intimate, not too overwhelming). I do prefer “Hundred silent ways” over this - they are quite similar in dry down, by Nishane adds a little peach to it making it not that boring and sterile scent. Overall it’s rather a clean, romantic and elegant scent, and I don’t get where the naming is coming from.

Sweet and slightly vintage scent. Reminds me of popular perfumes from the 90s with powdery floral notes and lots of vanilla in the base. Nothing interesting tbh. Also resembles Love don’t be shy by Kilian quite a lot.

First impressions: (on paper sample spray) Dare I say but this on paper smells like nishane hundred silent ways and black opium DNA. maybe less sweet. Edit 1: Alright I’ve tried this on skin and I do have to say the most prominent notes I’m getting out sandalwood, vanilla, cashmerean. This is a VERY heavy woody fragrance but it also smells a little bit like doll head almost? Edit 2: I think it’s gonna be a no for me because the price is too high for this, I'm not getting anything new from this and I feel like theres amberwood in this that I’m not enjoying. Edit 3: I feel like I’ve smelled this dry down before. Like a hundred silent ways or some designer perfume I’ve smelled before. It has to be that sandalwood and cashmere wood note that I’m not sure if I like or not. Edit 4: Youch! This does have a black opium dry down for me. In that case save your money because this perfume is not worth the price. Verdict-pass smells all too common for it to be that expensive.

Amberwood again. Not a blind buy,for sure, especially ppl,who cant stand akigalawood.

Like Devil's Intrigue very much although when I looked up the notes it didn't draw my attention at all, thought not my cup of tea, but ordered a sample anyway and straightforward bought a bottle. Osmantus starting but sandalwood + vanilla come up quickly and there's a sweetness which makes this scent really feminine and cozy. It's love for me. Stays 4 hours close to skin, till next day on clothes. The only problem is with the packaging. The brand changed the manufacturer and the quality of latest bottles is worse comparing with previos batches. I still have the old one and just bought new one (not fake, from reliable store), instantly noted the difference and wrote to the store, their distributor wrote me back explaining me about manufacturer. For those who is fan of the brand I guess this info could be useful: if you note something wrong with your new bottle this is not fake, this is new manufacturer;)

Добрый день. В моём женском шкафу много ароматов и дорогих и более дешёвых. Есть от которых восторг, не можешь надышаться сам собой, есть которые просто не раздражают но и не вызывают восторг, нейтральные так сказать. Решила я вслепую купить на распив распиаренный аромат, за 5 мл. которого заплатила 3700 руб. И что я могу сказать, не понимаю восторга людей, такой мерзкий запах, просто до тошноты. Из всей заявленной пирамиды не чувствуется ни одной ноты. Духи воняют потным телом. От которых просто тошно и болит голова. Причём я попробовала в другом магазине этот же парфюм и запах один в один. Т.е. мне попалась не подделка. Лично я не советую их никому. Но на вкус и цвет как говорится 🤷♀️

I don’t know who voted on aqua and zuchero but they don’t smell anything alike! This opens fresh with lots of osmanthus and tea. Dry down is much more woody, I can definitely pick up on the sandalwood and cashmeran. No vanilla to my nose but might still come later in the dry down. Beautiful! Smells like spring - when it’s still cold but the first flowers are starting to bloom.

Very girly, simple, and cozy. Doesn't live up to the expectations of something unusual. Don't get me wrong, the perfume is nice and pleasant: vanilla, osmanthus, subdued sandalwood, a fresh undertone of tea. Smells like some Black Opium flanker, or like Nishane Hundred Silent Ways, just fresher. Good longevity.

Why does this have to cost 350 pounds? It sounds so so good but I can’t find it for sale in a 5/10 ml and am quite scared to blind buy something that is in this price point. May just bite the bullet and do it. You only live once.

That's very nice soft elegant safe perfume. On the sweet side but not over sweet. I love that one. Wish it would be extract and would last much longer...

This scent lifting my mood every time I spray on me! Compliment catcher for sure! The most fluffy and comforting perfume ever!
