Mineral Wave

The beach in a bottle. Probably the most unique and interesting fragrance in Hawthorne's lineup. It's not a simple and safe mass appealing aquatic fragrance - Hawthorne already had that with their frag simply called "Fresh and Aquatic". No, Mineral Wave is a bit more than that. It's got some punch to it, thanks to the seaweed note. It really does remind me of the ocean, specifically when the waves pull back to expose wet sand and driftwood. I find it appealing, with the sage balancing it all out. However, I can see the scent not being everyone's cup of tea. And that's fine. Nothing else in my collection smells like it, and that's always a plus. Performance is pretty good. I can spray it on at the start of the morning and still be catching whiffs of it by late afternoon.

I agree with Redhawk. I have an extensive collection of aquatic fragrances and this one stands out. You can catch the aquatic notes filtering in and out with other notes becoming prominent. This unique fragrance will be appreciated by those looking for an aquatic with depth and not a fresh blue fragrance in the same family as those that saturated the market. I was reluctant to try Hawthorne due to mass marketing but am glad that I did.

I've lived with this bottle for around a year and here's my take. As others have mentioned and I agree with, this is the most interesting and qualifies as the only "niche" fragrance in Hawthorne's lineup. It has an note I was totally unfamiliar with (laminaria) that is rarely found in fragrances apparently. It reminds me of fennel but not as pungent, more herbal, and sort of adjacent to a seaweed. I think it's in the same realm as another unknown scent called Aquione by scent trunk. Aquione is like a niche version of Bvlgari Acqva Marine, and this is a little more like a more fennel or licorice type take on Acqua Di Sale by Profumum Roma. However, this one isn't quite good enough to replace that expensive juice, so don't get your hopes up. If fennel, and seaweed are notes you like, you'll enjoy this fragrance. If not, stay away. I like it and that's why a bought a bottle — heavily discounted to $35 on Ebay. For that price, it's a great scent. For full retail, it's not. If you like Acqua Di Sale but don't like the price, check this out. If you like Bvlgari Acqva Marine but find it boring and weak like I do, this is a step up. ----------------------------------------------------- Scent 76/100 Performance 70/100

This is a one trick pony. It literally smells like you’re at the beach. A little harsh with the seaweed but it makes sense for what they were going for.
