Santal Headspace

This one seems to be different to everyone's nose (in the comments at least). To me, the is a saffron frag through and through. I smell saffron, then rose, the red berries, then sandalwood and in that order, and at least on blotter, I get none of the champagne. The opening of this is almost candy grapey, and quickly becomes a lovely sweet rosey saffron scent with woody facets a la scents like Santal Carmin, Oud Bouquet, Oud Satin Mood, Crystal Saffron, Cairo, Black Saffron etc. I feel liked I've just smelled too many scents in this overarching genre to be wowed, but in a vaccuum, great rose saffron frag (and might be my fav). OK UPDATE: In my first review I mentioned that while I am a little over this genre, this fragrance does it excellently, and the verdict is IT'S THE BEST. Of all the rose/saffron scents in my wardrobe (and I have many), this one is my fave. There's almost this powdery but warm cacao like quality in the drydown and I LOVE IT.

Addictive is the first impression I had... I didnt want to stop smelling it. The sandalwood is different from Le Labo's version in that in that is smells more woods here. There is a light sweetness to the wood but it doesn't go milky. This does create a sense of a dry champagne but is not completely obvious, but it is there Light berry, rose and saffron in the background but do not scream out or outshine the wood and incense vibe, simply harmonize with it. Bought a full bottle without testing and it is likely my best blind buy ever. I am going to go out on a limb here and say that if you like Portrait of a Lady you should try this. This is not a dupe but simply there are similarities. Let me know if you are a POAL fan and you love this too

I love falling in love with this fragrance over and over again! This is a masterful blend of style and fun. I think it's the one I've gotten the most compliments on in my life. (next to Milky Musk, which is a completely different sandalwood approach) On my skin, patchouli and rose are very dominant, so I use it mainly when I go out. But luckily the champagne and red berry accords loosen it up nicely before it gets too dramatic. (Personally I'm not a fan of the heavy rose and patchouli combo.) Outstanding sillage and longevity, and totally FB-worthy.

A gorgeous sparkling opening settles to a warm, rosey and creamy sandlewood. Absolutely beautiful. Longevity is enormous - I get wafts all day from 3 sprays and a skin scent for 12+ hours. I enjoyed the entire discovery set and have purchased another FB but Santal is the highlight. Totally unisex. Stunning!

This is lovely and I even smell the champagne note which is unusual for me. I also get the fruit, rose and patchouli and the patchouli is not bitter as is often the case. I would buy a full size of this in the future after I have used up my bottle of Acrasia which is very similar.

A beauty! Starts off like a sparkling wine and settles on a bed of soft sandalwood-rose-frankincense combo that has a vanillic vibe to it. Projection is moderate and it’s a feel good scent. I feel it’s more for an autumn / winter evening wear. Unisex. Shukran Habibi!

I think I am going to have to pull the trigger on this one. This is a good sandlewood fragrance that doesn't smell too dark and woody. I think it kinda smells like 19-69 Kasbah which kinda made me not get it but without the patchouli.

One of the best sandalwood fragrances - it’s sweeter, floral and creamy. Not for those that prefer spicy-pickled type sandalwood. This is very soft. Great performance and great for indoors in AC environments. Shukran Habibi!

Champagne and patchouli opening, with a dry down that smells nothing like the initial spray. The transformation from champagne (Which to me smells more like a sweeter fuzzy wine, such as prosecco), patchouli and rose into a thick and dense woody dry down is unlike anything else I have tried before. Although intrigued by the unusual transformation in the scent throughout wearing it, a 30 ml seemed most reasonable for now. It might be a bit too much for the office and not strong nor unique enough for going out. I do wear it occasionally and I definitely do not regret buying it.

This is disgusting! It smells like grandma's lipstick, whiskey, and honey. It's very sweet at first, then develops into woodsy notes and a hint of sandalwood.

This is my fault but I somehow missed the fact that this fragrance has a champagne note when I ordered a sample. I cannot STAND alcohol notes so the burst of champagne at the opening literally nauseated me, and I immediately knew there was some sort of alcohol note in here. However, the champagne scent thankfully went away completely within 10 minutes, and it dried down to a dry sandalwood with a hint of sweetness and spice from the rose and saffron. The dry woody scent is probably due in part to the vetiver note. I enjoyed this scent quite a bit. After a few more hours, the dryness disappeared, and I was left with a lingering sweet berry patchouli scent. It's very nice. Just not sure if the opening is for me, but I will sit with my sample for a while and decide if I want to upgrade to a FB.

Old British houses in late autumn, with a yucky stink of sickly berry pot pourri. It's like the frankincense and berries are engaged in some mediaeval bloody battle to the death for dominance. Wanted to love it, really don't. Boo hoo. Couldn't get the champagne like I do from Atelier des Ors' Pink Me Up. None of that sparkle, and to be honest I was curious as to how a sparkly fizz could possibly work with something heavy like frankincense when I chose the sample. But I was intrigued, so I bit. I'm sure it smells great on some people, where their skin carries aspects of it differently but I just can't imagine how. I don't regret trying it, but washing it off took effort with minimal reduction.

The first 15-20 seconds - it's pure champagne,- bubbly, sizzling, pouring into a glass from a freshly open bottle. A minute later, I get a bit of soury cranberries mixed with sandalwood - a strange combination of something sour and creamy (as for me, the sandalwood somehow always gets creamy). After a while I get a fresh patchouli note. However, the sillage stands between moderate and weak, but still I think this scent is one of the most modern and interesting I have ever had (yes, I did purchase it after a few sniffs, but don't regret it:)).

don’t be fooled by the name this is a rose fragrance. it is unique with the liquor smell and although i would not wear it as a man i would find it delicious for a woman. if u are a fan of julien rasquinet’s work this won’t let u down. on a side note i ordered a discovery kit from the brand and it came in one week from france to usa. also if u enter the bar code at checkout they take the price of the discovery kit off a full bottle purchase. impressed with this company and perfumers backing it.

Stunning fragrance!! It's elegant but sexy. It can be worn with jeans or a cocktail dress. It will go from day to night seamlessly. To me it smells like I have found a new signature. It's giving me a spicy rose sandalwood vibe that I am totally here for. I just received my samples and this is the first one tried. But I have kinda already made up my mind to get a full bottle!!!!

this perfume masterfully takes two notes that usually put me off — red berries and rose — and makes me love them. it is an exquisite balance of sweet and powdery, with some depth and darkness from the cocoa. i love it oh my GOD
