Sensualite Idylique

My first fragrance purchase of the year! And the first review for this fragrance! I was captivated from the first moment I tried Hei Poa Sensualité Idyllique a couple of weeks ago, and I caved in last Friday, unable to wait until summer to get it. While my scent preferences have become more varied over the last couple of years, this perfume was just the type of thing I looked for at the beginning of my fragrance journey: sunny and tropical, reminiscent of summer and the beach. In fact, tiare has been one of the notes I look out for when browsing new fragrances, and I enjoy frangipani too. Sensualité Idyllique is a burst of tropical flowers from the first spray, with just a tinge of lemon at the start. Warm and lush, it is to me more evocative of the sultry side of summer than the carefree wholesome fun. With hardly any development, it fades into a vanilla musk like warm skin at the end of a summer day. Spraying liberally, the fragrance projects just enough that I could smell it on myself without having to bring my nose to my skin, but this lasts only for about a couple of hours before it softens into the final musk. On my clothing, however, the scent lingered until late the morning after the night I sprayed it on. It also retained more of its floral characteristics than it did on my skin. Nothing really new or complex with Sensualité Idyllique, and longevity could be improved, but at its affordable price point, I'm happy to spray away. It does its job as a sensual tropical fragrance for someone who enjoys the type, and it is exactly what you would expect from a French brand known for its Tahitian Monoi oil products.

Soft warm vanilla, frangipani and tiare. This perfume really shines in hot weather. I bought it as an idea for a "Hawaiian perfume" and was a blind buy. It's not offensive and the tiare is made really nice. It's not scratchy or sharp. Longevity is like an eau de toilette around 3-4hrs more on clothes. Would definitely try more of this brand, but to be honest probably will not repurchase this one again.
